Anyone having an issue with wifi drivers on Windows 10? If so, please provide:

I have similar problem to above, but a different wireless adapter. Using T440s. Upgraded to windows 10 pro x64 and most things are working well however the wifi is very wonky. The T440s is in the same room as the router so signal strength is not an issue, and all was working well on windows 7 before upgrading. While there is connectivity, the throughput is fluctuating. It will be ok for a few seconds (6-10MB/s) then the connection will die and drop to 0MB/s. Then it will go really slow, 30-60KB/s, then perhaps it will climb back up to normal speeds. Sometimes it will just stay dead. I have noticed in the connection properties window the value for Speed is changing, this is something that I have never seen before. In the past, it was always "Speed: 300.0 Mbps" Now it's fluctuating to all sorts of different values, I've seen 300, 270, 150, 235, 27, 36, 210, it's all over the place. I have tried installing some different drivers, including the ones from lenovo driver page and some from the intel driver page, all have the same issue. The adapter is "Intel Dual Band Wireless 7260AC with Bluetooth 4.0" Have tried driver 18.11.0.8 from lenovo and also one from the Intel site, happens on both. :UPDATE: After looking at the readme for these drivers i seen this in the 'limitations' section: "Bluetooth and Wi-Fi radio are both operating on the same 2.4 GHz band. When both of them are used simultaneously, you may see slower communication speed and/or reduced communication range caused by radio interference." I have confirmed this is my issue, extensive testing shows consistently that when my bluetooth mouse is off the issue does not exist. Not sure how to proceed, I can't change my router to 5ghz as there are incompatible devices in the house.

Generally, Windows 10 Technical Preview would work on the same hardware for Windows 8.1, in most situations, we can try the drivers for Windows 8.1 to install on Windows 10 Technical Preview.
From your description, it would be related to hardware driver. I would suggest your install the driver in Windows 7 compatibility mode to check the result.

Windows 10 technical preview installation has failed

Hi,
I currently use Windows 10 build 9860 on my computer and in another partition of my hard drive I have windows 8.1
Today I was trying to update my build trough the update and recovery>preview builds, but I was getting this error message: "Failed to install the new build, please try again later. 0x8024200D"
After that, I tried to download the offline .iso of the new build and running the setup, every was looking fine but when the installation got to 25% it came back to my desktop and a message appeared: "windows 10 technical preview installation has failed"
Any way that I can solve this?

I tried a bunch of different steps:
- Do a clean boot
- Use command WSReset.exe on run box
- Command prompt:dism.exe /online /cleanup-image scanhealth and restorehealth(When i use restorehealth gives me this error:0x800f081f)
- Create a new admin user and try to install update
- rename softwaredistribution
- Command prompt: powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.XML
None of this worked so far for me.

Firstly you need the ISO file for Windows 10 build 10061 Download link below

Secondly DO NOT overwrite your operating system that you are running now Win 7 - 8 - 8.1 , Purchase a secondary hard drive to test Windows 10 on . Most drivers are covered by Microsoft for Windows 10 so you (may) not have any problems there .
Also be sure to download the correct BIT version for your machine whether it be 32bit or 64bit ( Check your already installed windows version for this information in "System" .

Hello there mate got g510 iam on windows 10 insider preview build 10159 and it runs smooth! about the driver thingy i found it the most easy to do beyond all the other devices out there all u have to do is downlaod and install the last build from here : https://mega.nz/#!hUc2SSDI!9VRPiak8tS90rKbbVEEA0MCn5QbI8YgWRA_gCkFmcrY make sure to clean install it by 8gb at least flash driver and u are good to go ps: upgrading from older builds can make crashes and black screens after the amd driver installed so just make clean install for ur own good after u are done u can check for windows updates and it will take the intel and amd drivers that supports the wddm 2.0 plus the conexant audio and bluetooth ,Elan touchpad , the last stable ones comes with the updates and trust me its the most stable ones ive used so far the remaining unknown device and the pci is for the power manager and the intel imanagement engine u can use windows 8.1 x64 drivers for those sorry for the bad english tho xD

Just wondering if windows 10 Technical Preview will be available through WSUS, and if so, to which category it falls ?
As i set the automatic approval of almost everything except drivers, i'm afraid to get tangled with compatibility of my client apps .
i searched through my WSUS and couldn't find any thing relevant !! Any ideas ?

I agree with Carey Frisch here.
Windows 10 new build is delivered through Windows Update, and are not considered as Windows update.
The new build should be consider as Operating system upgrade, which I don't think should be available through WSUS.
Regarding Windows 10 deployment, I would like to share the following blogs:

And another thing is Windows 10 is still under development, we'd better setup a Test environment.

On 8.1 just installed 10. On first start everything was ok... it was until restarted... . When tried to login again everything on laptop display was black... In the bottom right part was language bar, that contains only help button...

T540p problem with resume from sleep Windows 10 technical preview

On Windows 10 technical preview the resume from sleep problem shows up again. With 8.1 I solved it with drivers.
I'm running lattest BIOS and Intel and nVidia drivers.
Also on Windows 10 the fingerprint software causes endless loop as logon screen cannot be displayed because of fingerprint software crash.
I know this is technical preview but I'd like to let you know of problems so you fix them by release time.

About the error: "The account is not authorized to login from this station" when you access NAS devices from Windows 10 Technical Preview (build 9926)

Scenario:
With the release of Windows 10 Technical Preview (build 9926), some users may encounter an error message of “The account is not authorized to login from this station” when trying to access remote files saved in NAS storage. In
addition, the following error log may also be found via Event Viewer:
Rejected an insecure guest logon.
This event indicates that the server attempted to log the user on as an unauthenticated guest but was denied by the client. Guest logons do not support standard security features such as signing and encryption. As a result,
guest logons are vulnerable to man-in-the-middle attacks that can expose sensitive data on the network. Windows disables insecure guest logons by default. Microsoft does not recommend enabling insecure guest logons.
Background:
The error message is due to a change we made in Windows 10 Technical Preview (build 9926) which is related to security and remote file access that may affect you.
Previously, remote file access includes a way of connecting to a file server without a username and password, which was termed as “guest access”.
With guest access authentication, the user does not need to send a user name or password.
The security change is intended to address a weakness when using guest access. While the server may be fine not distinguishing among clients for files (and, you can imagine in the home scenario that it doesn’t
matter to you which of your family members is looking at the shared folder of pictures from your last vacation), this can actually put you at risk elsewhere. Without an account and password, the client doesn’t end up with a secure connection to the server.
A malicious server can put itself in the middle (also known as the Man-In-The-Middle attack), and trick the client into sending files or accepting malicious data. This is not necessarily a big concern in your home, but can be an issue when you take your
laptop to your local coffee shop and someone there is lurking, ready to compromise your automatic connections to a server that you can’t verify. Or when your child goes back to the dorm at the university. The change we made removes the ability to connect
to NAS devices with guest access, but the error message which is shown in build 9926 does not clearly explain what happened. We are working on a better experience for the final product which will help people who are in this situation.
As a Windows Insider you’re seeing our work in progress; we’re sorry for any inconvenience it may have caused.
Suggestion:
You may see some workarounds (eg. making a registry change restores your ability to connect with guest access).
We do NOT recommend making that change as it leaves you vulnerable to the kinds of attacks this change was meant to protect you from.
The recommended solution is to add an explicit account and password on your NAS device, and use that for the connections. It is a one-time inconvenience,
but the long term benefits are worthwhile. If you are having trouble configuring your system, send us your feedback via the Feedback App and post your information here so we can document additional affected scenarios.

Unable to install Essentials Role on Windows Server Technical Preview (VHD)?

Having a problem trying to install Essentials Role on Windows Server Technical Preview (VHD)
After reboots, AD installs, I get Configuration encountered some issues in Results wizard.
Updating an preparing your server... 68% completed then it fails with following error.
"An error occurred while configuring Windows Server Essentials. Please try again."
Trying again same error.
Anyone able to get this installed?

This kind of issue is mostly caused by the driver compatibility issue during upgrade.
And it’s hard to find the culprit from installation log. The error code is sent by the setupact.log.
For a better method to test the 9879 build, it is recommended to perform a clean install in your case:

This is my result:
From your error code, it seems this is relate to your windows update, please use following command to fix corrupted files:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
In the meantime, you can delete temporary update files in the SoftwareDistribution folder:
Stop Windows Update service.
Open File Explorer.
Double-click the local hard disk where Windows is installed, typically drive C.
Double-click the Windows folder, and then double-click the
SoftwareDistribution folder.
Double-click the DataStore folder to open it, and then delete all files and folders in the folder.
Note If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Click the Back button. In the SoftwareDistribution folder, double-click the
Download folder to open it, and then delete all files in the folder.
Restart Windows Update service.
