IDOC Message Splitting with Logic

Hi,  I have a business requirement for IDOC to IDOC mapping where the incoming IDOC line item should be split in to multiple line items based on a field value and also the resulting IDOC will be split in to multiple IDOCs based on a limitation on the number of line items. Without using BPM, have anybody used SAP XI to efficiently perform the above logics with proper check logics and error controls ? Appreciate your responses.

Hi Raj,
Try this:
You can use Split by Value node function and set the properties of the split by value as: Each Value.So the for every different number,different item will be created.
Using the Node Functions you can solve your problem.
1.SplitByValue:
The SplitByValue() function is the counterpart to removeContexts(): Instead of deleting a context, you can insert a context change in the source value queue. You then receive this element for each inserted context change instead of a top node element. However, for this to be possible, the top node source field must be assigned a top node target field and minOccurs must be >0. You can insert a context change in the queue after each value, after each change to the value, or after each tag without a value.
2.RemoveContexts:
You use removeContexts () to delete all the top contexts for an element. This removes all top hierarchy levels, so that all elements of the target queue are assigned to a root element of the source queue.
Advanced user-defined functions can import either just one context into the input arrays, or complete queues. Make your selection by selecting or deselecting the Save Entire Queue in Cache checkbox in the function editor.
3.CreateIf:
CreateIf node function is used to create a node if true value is passed to it otherwise suppress it.
4.collapseContext
To remove the context in between the value and transfer only one value at a time
5.useOneAsMany
First Input:
The value which is needed to be repeated.
Second Input:
It defines how many times the first input should be repeated.
Third Input:
It define when the context should be changed (on the basis of the required output

    Someone knows about an example on splitting a message into several messages (multiline element), the target message type is of one type.

    Hi,
    <i>Someone knows about an example on splitting a message into several messages (multiline element), the target message type is of one type.</i>
    >>>Several messages means several message types ..
    But if you want to get multiple lines then it is called multiple occurences. i.e One message type is having multiple main segments.
    For e.g in this case, one message type with multiple Segment can occur. If this is your requirement, then no need of multiline etc. Just you need to map it correctly.
    <Target>
       <Segment> (1..n)
    </Target>
    If you want multiple messages i.e one then it will be like this
    <Messages>
       <Message1> 1..n
         <Target>
        </Message1>
      <Message1> 1..n
         <Target>
      </Message1>
    </Messages>
    Hope this helps,

  • How link customize IDOC message type with FM ?

    Hi,
    I have created new IDOC message type ZCOST and FM ZMASTERIDOC_CREATE_COST. (Outbound).
    Please advise how link the message type and FM ? so everytime i am executing BD21 with message type ZCOST the program always calling FM ZMASTERIDOC_CREATE_COST to generate the IDOC.
    Thank You and Best Regards
    Fernand

    HI,
    You need to link Mssage type, IDOC type and the FM (also extension idoc type if exits) in TCODE: WE57 --> go to change mode
    --> then new entries --> even you need to gove the direction inbound/outbound.
    Also you need to create a outbound custom process code in WE41. and link the FM to the process code.
    This process code shold be assigned to the partner profile in we20 in outbound parameters -> so you FM will be picked up qutomatically.

  • File to Idoc (message split)

    Hi Gurus,
    I have a incoming xml file which is split into multiple debmas idoc for ecc.
    In message-mapping, message-tab
    source message occurance is set as '1' and target is set with "0...unbound"
    On target:idoc
    There is NO mapping for Messages and Message1 nodes. DEBMAS06 is mapped to source-field to create as many idocs. IDOC has NO map and BEGIN is set as constant(1).
    When i run the test, my result is as below: (NO Idoc)
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

    Hi,
    IDOC multimapping (it's called bundling) is supported please fallow that Michal's blog:
    [/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/12/04/xi-idoc-bundling--the-trick-with-the-occurance-change|/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/12/04/xi-idoc-bundling--the-trick-with-the-occurance-change]
    You need to modify the xsd definition. It works perfect. E.g. in my company we are splitting 1000 idocs in one run.

  • Multi-Message-split with ABAP mapping and adapter specific attributes

    Hi all,
    With <b>ABAP-Mapping I split 1 message to n messages</b>.
    So many files are generated in <b>file-Adapter</b>.
    Everything fine.
    But now I want the file names different using adapter specific attributes.
    It is not possible to use variable substitution and write the file name in payload because of receiver restrictions.
    I tried this with following similar coding in ABAP-Mapping:
    data: lt_records TYPE MPP_DYNAMIC_TAB.
          Loop.
          l_file_name = "payload-Inbound"-information
          ls_record-namespace = 'http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File'.
          ls_record-name = 'FileName'.
          ls_record-value = l_file_name.  "l_file_name comes from inbound-payload
          append ls_record to lt_records.
         Endloop.
      CALL METHOD dynamic_configuration->set_all_records
        EXPORTING
          records = lt_records.
    If I start the interface I see in the monitoring the dynamic configuration with many entries for file-name in the the SOAP-Header mapping of the request message (following extract):
      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
    - <!--  Mapping der Request-Message
      -->
    - <SAP:DynamicConfiguration xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="1">
      <SAP:Record namespace="http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File" name="FileName">BPAADDRESS.XML</SAP:Record>
      <SAP:Record namespace="http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File" name="FileName">BPABROKERROLE.XML</SAP:Record>
      <SAP:Record namespace="http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File" name="FileName">BPACOMPANYSEGMENT.XML</SAP:Record>
      <SAP:Record namespace="http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File" name="FileName">BPACUSTOMERROLE.XML</SAP:Record>
    The result is that <b>all files have the same file name</b> (last entry in dynamic configuration).
    Is it possible to write the adapter specific configuration in ABAP-mapping <u>for every single result message</u>??
    Thank you for your help,
    Florian

    Hi Florian,
    I've a different idea...I dont think its a "right solution" but just another work around..it involves a BPM...
    In your ABAP mapping..set the dynamic config with as many variables as number of different messages...i.e. use the variables like 'FileName1', 'FileName2'...'FileName6' instead of 'FileName'. But use the same namespace 'http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File'
    Call the above mapping in a BPM and capture the individual messages and set the attribute 'FileName' from the values of 'FileName1' to 'FileName6' accordingly using Message Mapping and then send the message using the 'Send' step.
    before you try this, try using the variable names 'FileName1' ...'FileName6' in the receiver adapters...enable the ASMS. <b>I know we need to select which variables from the dynamic config to be used by the adapter by specifically selecting 'FileName', 'Directory' etc...but just give it a try and see if it works..</b>
    Or..instead of using a BPM..you can combine Henrique's idea...use Adapter module to set the value for 'FileName' from variables 'FileName1'...'FileName6' accordingly.
    hope I'm clear..lemme know if you have any questions..
    cheers

  • Message Splitting with out BPM

    Hi,
        Is there anyway to split the message into different messages suppouse M1,M2,M3. And I want to route these messages i.e. M1, M2, M3 dynamically to receivers using enhanced receiver determination.
    i.e. M1 is to route R1,R2,R3. M2 needs to route R3,R4 & M3 needs to route R1, R3. Appreciate for your response.

  • Message split 1:2 ?

    Hi Guys,
    I have a proxy - http synchronus scenario. The target structure has 2 different messages like message 1 and message 2 and i need to generate 2 different xml messages for each.
    I cant go for split with out BPM as the HTTP adapter lies on the integration engine and the scenario is synchronus.
    Can i acheive the message split with the help of BPM ? or do i need to go for Java Maping. Can somebody help me with the Java code if this is mandatory or any other work around will be appreciated
    Thanks,
    Srini

    You use java Mapping based on your complexity,otherwise just use graphical mapping.I her by listing you few url which will help you to understand.You can also find more blogs in SDN related to this issue.

  • Splitting a Idoc message without BPM

    Hi ,
    I have seen several posts on this topic splitting Messages with/without BPM. But I think I did not get the currect answer so far. Here is my scenario:
    We are using PI/XI 7.0 Sp 09, Idoc-XI-WM (third-party WMS systems)
    SAP(Idoc) -
    > XI (httpa dapter)-------> 1. Http server (WMs 1 - BS1)
    > 2. Http server (WMs 2 - BS2)
    > 3. Http Server (WMs 3 - BS3)
    I have SAP ECC sender System and 3 receivers-WMs, 3 different Warehouse Management systems running at different warehouse locations and each warehouse is like a different system which has different IP address and etc so we defined each WMs is new Business System in the SLD.
    We have a purchase Order Idoc coming from SAP ECC to XI with multiple line items, here each item may belong to one of the above 3 warehouse locations(BS) so based on the certain logic I have to split the incoming 1 PO up to 3 POs and send each PO to each warehouse location with different http adapter.
    ECC- IDoc  -
    >(Idoc xml using Idoc adapter) XI (splitted Idoc xlm(s) using Http adapter)---->WMS
    Please give your valuable inputs, I am already working on withBPM scenario but please suggest if have any good solutions with or without BPM.
    Thanks,

  • Idoc(receiver) message splitting using BPM

    Hi,
    could you provide some blogs which is useful for Idoc (as a Receiver) message splitting (1:N scenario) using BPM.
    I have gone thru some of the Blogs, i didn't find good one according to this scenario.
    Thanks
    Praba

    Hi Michal,
    Thanks for ur reply.
    You said " if you have one message and want to have multiple IDOCs
    there is no need for a BPM -
    you just need to change IDOC occurance - that's all"
    I agree to your point.
    My scenario is more or less same but "With single message , i need to generate multiple Idocs" based on synchronous proxy response from R3. That is the reason we already gone with BPM.
    Already i used the BPM in my interface due to req.  It was working. Earlier i was posting single Idoc to R3 with multiple Header segment (each Header segment has one quantity)
    Now due to req. change, for each single quantity (quantity is my source Message Type field), i need to post single Idoc to R3  if i get response from R3.
    My XI version PI 7.0 SP14
    Idoc structure:
       <xsd:attribute name="SEGMENT" type="xsd:string" fixed="1" use="required"
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" />
       </xsd:complexType>
    - <xsd:complexType name="WPUWBW.WPUWBW01";>
    - <xsd:annotation>
       <xsd:documentation>POS interface: Upload goods movements</xsd:documentation>
       </xsd:annotation>
    - <xsd:sequence>
      <xsd:element name="EDI_DC40" type="EDI_DC40.WPUWBW.WPUWBW01"; />
       <xsd:element name="E1WPG01" type="WPUWBW01.E1WPG01"; minOccurs="0"
       maxOccurs="9999999999" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" />
       </xsd:sequence>
       <xsd:attribute name="BEGIN" type="xsd:string" fixed="1" use="required"
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" />
       </xsd:complexType>
       </xsd:schema>
    Already I am using this Idoc structure in various interfaces also. If i edit the occurance of the this Idoc and import in External definition with same name, I feel it afffect mapping in other interfaces also.
    Inputs are highly appreciated.

  • Message Split -- File to Idoc Scenario  -  ( Without BPM )

    I have multiple records coming to XI in a File and I have to create Multiple Idocs to R/3.
    Due to Complexity of mapping I'm splitting Maaping step into 2 message Mappings.
    A-->B
    B-->C
    In the 2nd Mapping step  I'm doing message Split meaning for each Source record I'm creating multiple Idocs ( To be precise each record on the source becomes 4 idocs in the Target.
    2nd Mapping step is as follows
    Source 1..1
      Sourcerecord 0.. Unbounded
        field1  0..1
        field2  0..1
        filed3  0..1
    Target
    Message 1
        Idoc   1.. Unbounded
          Idoc Structure..
    Message 2
          Idoc   1.. Unbounded
    Message 3
          Idoc   1.. Unbounded
    Message 4
          Idoc   1.. Unbounded
    So based on some criteria each record of Source will be mapped to 4 Messages (  1 each under each Message )
    Is it possible to do this without BPM?. Iam sending all these Idocs to same R/3 System.
    Thanks for any help..RK

    Hi,
    See the blog
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/12/04/xi-idoc-bundling--the-trick-with-the-occurance-change
    <i>Basicly we have 2 ways of handling such scenarios:
    - we can use a block step and send multiple IDOCs from our BPM
    - we can also do a little trick and send multiple IDOCs from the XI without a BPM
    The first approach is a standard XI approach. It involves the use of a BPM
    so the speed of this transfer many not be very good in case you'd like to send
    hundreds or thousands of IDOCs in just one call.
    The second approach uses a little trick that was mentioned several times
    on the XI Froum by a number of XI developers but is still not very clear to the XI newbies.
    It allows us to send multiple IDOCs without the use of a BPM. Most probably this will be your choice
    if you'd like to use such 1:N (IDOCs) scenarios effectively.</i>

  • File to idoc scenario (split message)

    hello everybody
    i have a file (xml) -> XI -> Idoc scenario
    sometimes idoc message is so much big and i have problem to process it.
    so i would like split message in more idoc but i need decide a cut-point
    example in file i have 200 row and i don't want create 200 idocs but example 4.
    So i need cut file every 50 rows.
    It's possible?
    thanks
    Alex

    Hi Alessandro ,
    We had the same problem in HR implementation where we used to get data for thousands of employees in a single file.
    As Idoc was not able to hold this much of data,data used to be truncated.
    Then we had taken a field (employee number) as a criteria to generate IDocs,and now we have an IDoc generated for each employee record.
    This was helpful as for a single employee,there were a number of change records.
    The logic used was:
    Employeecode -> splitByValue(value changed) -> collapseContexts -> IDoc.
    Does it suit your requirement as well?I mean,may be you can find such field for splitting IDocs.
    Kindly let us know.
    Thanks.

  • Sending IDocs as 'control messages' to a Logical System

    Hi all,
    I have defined an external Logical System to where I send Idocs. The Idocs are received and processed by a SAP Java Connector on that LS.
    At the moment, when for example a purchase order is created for a specific vendor, a message to that vendor is sent through ALE, and the receiver port for that Vendor is set so that it resembles/is sent to the Logical System.
    My question is, is it possible, for example when you create a purchase order, to define the message control in such a way that a regular 'New Printout' (or other message) is send to the Vendor (as it normally would), as well as an IDoc message for that purchase order to the Logical System: so send 2 messages to different systems upon creation of the purchase order .
    The main idea is that the IDocs are sent to the Logical System to keep track of the actions done by a user, transparant to the user, so that its actions are logged.
    Hope this is clear,
    David

    Yes, You can do it through outbound IDoc. Create another output types and configure the same from NACE and the processing would be done through EDI.
    Then you need to configure the partner profile in WE20 with that output types.
    Thanks

  • Problem with Mulit Mapping/Message Split

    Hi,
    I am a newbie to XI trying to set up a file2file scenario with multi-mapping/message splitting without BPM.
    System is XI 3.0 SP14
    Scenario is:
    read an XML-File and multiply it and write 2 XML-files using the File adaptor.
    For reference I used "multimapping without BPM".
    - setting occurancy of Message types to unbounded in both Message Mapping and Interface Mapping.
    - using the RB_Split button
    - setting up one business service containing 2 message interfaces and 2 communication channels for output.
    Designing and Konfiguring worked fine.
    File is read but no file is written.
    XML-Moni tells me "Mapping did not create Messages"
    I did extensive studies in sap.help, forum and various blogs. Also to verify Messagetypes and Kommunication channels I set up similar file2file scenario without splitting. Nothing really helped.
    Any clues?

  • Message split on adapter engine for the java based IDoc adapter

    Hi Guys,
    Do you know if message split on adapter engine is available for the java based IDoc adapter on the single stack (PI 7.31)?
    I'm getting such exception when I try to post 3 IDocs
    Transmitting the message to endpoint <local> using connection File_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.aii.af.idoc.exception.IDOCAdapterException: Error before sending due to idoc parsing error: (7) IDOC_ERROR_PARSE_FAILURE: Invalid XML 1.0 character encountered within IDocXML for type <ns0:Messages>:
    state=EXPECTING_IMMEDIATE_TAG_END, charPosition=68, lineNumber=1, columnNumber=69, invalidChar=U+0078,
    sourceSnippet=...UTF-8" standalone="no"?><ns0:Messages xmlns:ns0="http://sap.com/xi/XI/SplitAndMerge"><ns0:Message1><...

    Mapping is one to many.
    Each IDoc content has been compared manually against the xsd schema and it was fine.
    I know that old way of modifying xsd is still possible.
    Best regards,
    Wojciech

    Did you find a solution to this? Having a similar error right now.
    Thanks and kind regards
