IDVD no themes (more info inside)

So I did not recieve iDVD with my new iMac, so i thought i could get around this by saving the iDVD program from my older Macbook, to an External HD and load/install it on my new iMac. it installed and opens when propted, but when i try to expot a video from iMovie or just create a new project through iDVD, it's telling me there are no themes. so i then went back to my old Macbook and save the themes, loading them on to my iMac, but im still running in to the same error message, saying there are no themes. when i try to click "find themes", it opens a finder window and i can can selcte a them, but it will not open a new project.
so is there away around this? I've contacted apple, trying to get a copy of iDVD, but i havnt heard back from them over the past 3-4 months. can anyone help me out? iDVD was my goto for small projects and i upgraded to the iMac to handle the size of the HD video i shoot, but now i cant burn any iDVD's.
and another question while im here, is there another option with in iMovie that will burn DVD's that can be read on a DVD player? i currently only burn inder MP4 which plays on PS#'s and any computer, but when popped into a true DVD player, it will not read the disc.

I have a similar problem with an unfunctional IDVD. I never really used it except one time and it took a clip I had of my mom when she excited about some new shoes a friend got her and to watch the clip with the music playing in the background... It was literally the nicest thing that I ever saw... Its an old and all too familiar story where people lose some of the nicest or most important pictures, poems or creations... essays... research... to silly little mistakes with software interface or proprietary entanglements between companies... I noticed there are some ILife 08 packages for sale on Amazon. The theme I was hoping to reactivate was one that had a spinning flower... I'll include a pic... I guess I have to buy 08 and then use my ILife 11 too? Any advice on how to get that theme running again so I can finalize a movie of it? Also, I have not tried to reload ILife 11 again yet. Should I try this first? I just don't know why it doesn't work any more.
Greatly appreciate your help with this,

How do I delete/hide songs from iTunes Match? When I mark them, and delete them (and yes, I mark the box where it says delete from the cloud as well), they just reappear once I sync with itunes match again. (the symbol available for download appears). Is there a way to completely remove the tracks?
(And no, I don't just want to hide them (in the menu), since the tracks will appear in my iPhone anyways).

Planning to get a warranty for my iMac, more info inside...

Technically, it's my boyfriend's iMac, but as I'm more aware of what we need exactly, it'll explain below.
About two months ago the WiFi network I had set up was hacked by 14 people. I spent about an hour cleaning out the router, changing passwords, SSID's and encrypting the network moreso than it was prior.
After that I downloaded a free trial of 'Virus Barrier' as I have zero trust of McAfee (the only other option I could find).
After the trial ran out I deleted the icons as I'm not very familiar with Mac's and could not figure out if that would completely remove the software or not (I don't believe it did).
I use GoogleChrome as our browser, while running Netflix or just turning it on (doing anything really) we get asked to approve for 'KsFetch' or 'Kfetch' to open a port. I did a little reading on this and did/have not found anything saying it is/was a threat, so I allow(ed) it.
Due to the fact that our browser runs increasingly slow regardless of the fact that I consistantly delete cookies and history, I'm interested in having a technician who's more familiar with Mac's than myself; run diagnostics on the computer and basically just run a little 'check-up' and make sure it's okay.
I think the slowness of the internet and the unresponsive browser may be due in part to our router which I don't believe is fully equipt to handle the amount of bandwidth that we use. But just to be on the safe side considering this was a very expensive computer, I want it looked into.
So my question is (after all of that mess), if we get a warranty, would it cover general diagnostics? And Which warranty would be best (assuming there are variable kinds)?
If anybody with vast knowledge of Mac's and their upkeep reads this, would you happen to know if there may be something wrong with the computer?
Earlier this morning it smelled a bit like burning plastic, it is generally used all day than off all night, after about ten minutes the smell went away (this was before I turned it on.).

Definitely get the extended 3 year AppleCare on any iMac or Laptop before the 1 year runs out, even if not related to any of tthese problems.

Photos will not sync after I updated software. More info inside.

I just updated my iTouch 4th generation to the newest software (4.2.2 or something, I didn't pay much attention) and now when I try to sync it, it says a file is missing. I tried deleting the iPod photo cache folders (there were two) like someone said on here and it didn't work so now I only have acess to photos saved from Safari. When I try to acess the ones I synced before it just shows big black boxes. Help!

Was this the error message:
"The iPhone/iPod touch "device name" cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found."
If it really said a file is missing I would try reinstalling iTunes.

Problems connecting to Linksys E2000 - More Info Inside

So my issue is that I lost the my WEP key. at least I think that is what it's called. I can't connect to my wifi. I read somewhere that I need to go to my administrator dashboard on my router but I've forgotten the login for that as well.
I'm basically locked out/in to my wifi and I was wondering how I go about reseting it/getting in.
I never changed the password to access my wifi from the default wep key and I've heard that could be beneficial to me? I have no clue. It would be nice if you could help me ASAP.

Hi Drew1749 and welcome to the forums!
Yes in order to check your WEP key, you need to login to the router's set up page. To go there you need to open a browser and type 192.1681.1 and hit enter. Once it asks you for a password, by default it is "admin" unless you changed it before. If you are still not able to login with that, you need to reset the router back to default settings but be reminded that all settings/configurations will be lost as well.
If you are okay with that, you need to configure the router via wire first to make sure internet connection is working. Are you a DSL or Cable subscriber?

We have a sequence of workflows. Which occur one after the other. Each WF is performed by a single agent except one WF. that particular WF needs to be split into 3 parts as 3 performers are there. I can do so by checking the description manually. But now we want to automate it. By splitting it we want to see the time lapse of each performer. Can someone help me out in this ?
Please advice me if there is any table storing the wf steps numbers or anything which is relevant to this issue.

You want to divide one single step into 3 step, is this right?
In that case, you can subdivide it into three parallel steps in workflow definition or, if the three users have to perform their task in sequence, you can put a table with relevant users
into the last tab of the task in SWDD.

Turn Time Machine OFF temporarily in its preference pane. Leave the window open.
Navigate in the Finder to your backup disk, and then to the folder named "Backups.backupdb" at the top level of the volume. If you back up over a network, you'll first have to mount the disk image file containing your backups by double-clicking it. Descend into the folder until you see the snapshots, which are represented by folders with a name that begins with the date of the snapshot. Find the one you want to restore from. There's a link named "Latest" representing the most recent snapshot. Use that one, if possible. Otherwise, you'll have to remember the date of the snapshot you choose.
Inside the snapshot folder is a folder hierarchy like the one on the source disk. Find one of the items you can't restore and select it. Open the Info dialog for the selected item. In the Sharing & Permissions section, you may see an entry in the access list that shows "Fetching…" in the Name column. If so, click the lock icon in the lower right corner of the dialog and authenticate. Then delete the "Fetching…" item from the icon list. Click the gear icon below the list and select Apply to enclosed items from the popup menu.
Now you should be able either to copy the item in the Finder or to restore it in the time-travel view. If you use the time-travel view, be sure to select the snapshot you just modified. If successful, repeat the operation with the other items you were unable to restore. You can select multiple items in the Finder and open a single Info dialog for all of them by pressing the key combination option-command-I.
When you're done, turn TM back ON and close its preference pane.

Screen 'greys' when click MORE INFO and nothing appears

I'm having immense difficulty uninstalling an application. It has locked items and so it won't trash. I have tracked these items down and have begun unlocking them by using the list view and drilling down until I get to MORE INFO. At this point the item used to pop up showing Locked and I could just remove the x against locked and so eventually, after doing this countless times, unlock all the offending items and trash the stupid app. But suddenly, after doing this successfully for ages no little screen pops up when I hit GET INFO. Instead it all goes a delicate shade of grey and I can't do anything. I have two questions. 1. What do I do now? and 2. Is there a way to unlock all these things at once by doing it one level higher?
They are, incidentally, all spreadsheet outlines in an accounting program I use (MYOB Account Edge) and although I have spent lots of time with the MYOB support desk I am a Mac user in a PC world and they are well-meaning but essentially uninformed about their program on this platform, even though they sell the Mac product as well as the PC version.
I have, incidentally, checked for an uninstall program for this but can't find one, and the support desk also said just put it in the trash.
Help greatly appreciated. I thought I'd found a way, albeit laborious, with the individual unlockings, and now even that isn't working.

Is there a way to unlock all these things at once by doing it one level higher?
Open the Terminal application in your /Applications/Utilities/ folder and enter the following:
chflags -R nouchg
followed by a space. Drag the folder into the Terminal window and press Enter. This command will usually unlock all locked items that you're the owner of anywhere inside the folder you dragged into the Terminal window.

I am looking to do this myself - you may have heard that iDVD 08 has problems with encoding films more than 60 minutes in length - the audio goes out of sync towards the end of the film, no matter whether you send the film from imovie, final cut pro, or simply just import a qt file. I myself am doing a wedding video of over two hours in length, and the menu 'forever' in idvd 08 is perfect, so I am going to try and use this in '06, which burns the movie perfectly with no audio problems.
I'm going to drag the theme from the 08 folder in application support/idvd/themes and place it inside the same folder for idvd 06 on a mac book pro. Hopefully this will work. Let me know if you have any other successful method, or if anyone knows a way to fix that audio problem in'08 I'd love to hear from them!!!

"more info" in Get Info showing "--" instead of actual infos for newer videos and images

I've just noticed that when I click on "Get Info" on my newer pictures and videos, the "more info" section is now showing "--" instead of the dimensions of the images and videos. However when I go to my older files, the info is showing. Also if I search any of the newer files (those with the missing info) in Spotlight, it doesn't show up. I've done some research and some people suggest reindexing Spotlight, but that never worked for me. In fact, even if I exclude a folder in my Privacy list, it's still showing as a result when I search them. I'm sure this is a problem with Spotlight as it stores the dimensions info, but since reindexing it is not a solution, can it be solved in some other way?

It takes time on newer things, but might have to be opened first or something.
If you want, you can clear the caches with OnyX (#12) and that would rebuild and repair the entire sub-system.

1. Ability to open apps from the menu bar. I know we can stuff 'em in our Docks and open them in Spotlight, but being able to interact with our apps would be great. Perhaps each app could have its own gear/triangle, or each icon could be interactive; this would open a contextual menu from which we can open, delete, update, get help, maybe open recent docs....
2. Option-clicking an app icon could pop up more info (e.g., version, last used, etc)
3. Allow us to sort apps either manually or by automatic criteria (recently used, most used, recently updated, etc)

Get info pane doesn't show appropriate "more info" info

Hello. There's a problem on my "get info" pane, where normally there should be a "more info" column showing some information about "image size", "author", etc.
But recently, for example, an image file's "more info" column doesn't show its dimension and other info, only showing "title" and "last opened". And other things are simply gone.
Another example is MP3 files, normally there should be showing more metadata like "bitrate", "artist", "duration", etc. But now, it just shows the "title" and "last opened".
This really bugs me because I normally used to look at some info about these things sometimes when I need to check it out when doing some picture works. So basically the main problem is "more info" doesn't show information that I needed and which it should be there, but somehow there's a problem on Mac OS X that makes it failed to show them all out.
If anyone could tell me a way to fix it, I am very appreciated!! Thank you!!

Generally when the "More Info" section is nearly empty it is because the file in question has not been indexed by Spotlight. As to WHY it hasn't, that is a whole 'nother question, which you may be able to answer. Perhaps you have it stored somewhere that is excluded in the Spotlight Privacy pane, or on a drive where Spotlight is disabled, or in a folder where you don't have proper permissions... and so on.

EO :
Entity Objects are basically based on one table which encapsulate the business rules. These objects are used by OAF page to perform update/insert/delete operations .
Inside EOImpl.java you will find setter() and getter () methods in java we call it as accessor and mutator , each attribute in EO is mapped to column in the data base table .
You can also generate a create () method Validate () method .
Eg : To get the sequence value in OAF you can use Create() method .
VO :
VOImpl (VO) : It just consist of an Data base sql query , you might have noticed while executing a query eg : VO.executeQuery() ;
to perform any validation it provides iteration over and access to the view rows in its result set.
VoRowImpl : Represents a single row in a view object .
You will understand better when you writing a code using voimpl /voRowimpl objects
AmImpl :
It basically performs the Business logic , we will define all our methods to implement business logic .
Eg : you can call a method from controller and define the method Amimpl.java , you can use of initializing the query or
you do DML operation , etc ...
In summery : The main reason why we have java file distribute across EO , VO , AM is because OAF is designed with MVC design pattern ,
in other words we have to isolate the responsibility of code in each layer ( Model , View , Controller ) .Its bad practice to write
the entire code in one single class file .
Eg : Controller class should accept the parameter from user and pass these parameters BC4J files ( AMImpl.java ) and its Job of the AMImpl.java
to perform the business logic and return the result back to to controller .
To enforce the coding standard of MVC design pattern we have these java files EO , VO , AM , CO . with more practice you will understand the various
methods defined in each of these java files .

How do I find out my keychain password? Need more info fast about this

My computer started to get really slow, so I looked what I could do to make it faster again. After searching I found that the safari content was high and that I should delete it to make it less laggy and slow. Long story short I ended up deleting my saved passwords on safari...Looking into more info, I found out that I needed to get to Keychain Access. I got to Keychain access, found all the passwords.
My question..
•How do I get them out of Keychain?
•If I end up needing my password for Keychain, how do I find that out? I have the like start up CD, but I dont remember ever making a password.
•And if I do retreive my Keychain Password some how, will that delete everything stored in Keychain? I would have just tried it, but its a lot of passwords I CAN NOT lose...

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you boot, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.
