my phone is having alot of problems. it keeps crashing, shutting off, cant receive some calls, goes straight to voicemail, battery usage is terrible,i restart my phone maybe 8 to 10 times a day.would it be possible to get a new iphone?
If it is under warranty and defective, then they will replace.

This crap just happened to me this morning where I was sent 90% data plan threshold warningfrom AT&T (while sleeping at 7:09am) then 5 minutes later getting the Overage data plan warning from AT&T. My battery was not working properly (kept running out over a few hours.) I was advised at the apple store to restore my iphone which i did. When i try to restore it to my back up it keeps asking for a password but i have no idea what this password is? could anyone help?
If your backup is encrypted, you cannot restore without the password.
You can continue to backup but you cannot restore without password.
There's no way to retrieve the password.
Warning: Make sure it's a password you will remember or write it down for safekeeping. If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and forget your password, you can't restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable.

i just got a new iphone 4 for att and my friend installed the sim card in it for me. the imessage function isnt connecting with the my cell number. a while back i had logged into my apple account on someone elses cell phone and their number keeps showing. when i try to just select my number to send and recieve imessages from it will not show up. i can send and recieve regular text but not pictures or imessage. i have tried logging off and restarting and nothing has worked.help please!!
Did you remove your account information from the other person's iPhone?

I have used facetime on my mac recently and have not had this problem until today. Facetime seems to have logged out on all of my devices but after putting my password in on my iphone/ipad it is back to normal however my Macbook will not allow me to log in. I also noticed that facetime preferences is grayed and I keep trying to turn facetime on and that is graying out as well. I put in my email and password and I get stuck on "signing in". Or I get past that and I verify my email and password and I get stuck on "verifying" only to get booted back to the sign in page. My OS is up to date, my wifi is on and working and I have no firewall on my home network. I cannot figure out how to fix this. I have tried some previous message troubleshooting such as updating the DNS entry to add 8.8.8.8 and that did not work. I have tried to toggle facetime on and restart but that did not work. I can't delete and reinstall facetime as it is connected to the OS and will not allow you to do that.
I have the same problem. Unfortunately, the troubleshooting link you added has the first step listed as "Verify that FaceTime is enabled in FaceTime > Preferences" which we (the original poster and I) can't do as our Preferences are greyed out. We can't click on them to verify anything.
In FaceTime itself it's verified my apple id (also double checked via the site) and then it says the email is "verified" but then it freezes and after a minute or so it says "Could not verify the email address. Please check your network connection and try again."
After checking the network connection, it still doesn't work. It's rather frustrating as it all worked fine until about a week or two ago.
Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, I understand that. But The screen issue is not a result of user damage. The phone was not dropped when the screen got cracked. My daughter was standing in a chair at the table and dropped one of her toys onto the bottom of the phone and cracked it right by the home button. (Nowhere near the LCD/digitizer flex cables, connections, or logic board components) then a few months later my phone had died, I plugged it in, it showed it was charging, then Apple logo disappeared and screen didn't work. AFTER contacting Apple about the issue and them telling me that it "is a result of the very minimal crack to the sheet of glass that has no relation to the LCD or Digitizer and that the warranty does not cover it I had taken it upon myself to change the LCD/digitizer to no avail, as well as backlight ic and backlight coil to no avail. But how do I go about letting Apple know that it is in fact NOT due to the cracked screen nor is it due to the flex cable connections? I can't. So the lady that works the call center phones trying to "convince" me that she knows what she is talking about and "convince" me that it is from the cracked screen I have to take her word because I can't show Apple that its not because of that without paying them $199 to fix the screen in which case they will just send me a new phone rather than fix the faulty hardware under warranty.

RESOLVED!!! I logged on to my Straight Talk online account, and did a Tech Chat. They immediately gave me a direct phone number and a Reference PIN number and asked me to contact their iPhone specialty support. I called (of course the gentleman's accent was very difficult for me to understand, but managed with asking continually for clarity). He walked me through several tests, setting changes and had me get on my wifi to obtain the latest APN settings. None of his efforts worked ad it was obviously NOT my Straight Talk iPhone 5, 64GB CDMA (no SIM) - it was something with their setting on their end on my account. I was placed on hold a few times and he would come back on to have me try to get on Safari and even Google... after the 3rd on-hold, he returned and asked me to try to use my data again without the wifi turned on and BINGO it worked... I still do not have my wifi turned on and I'm still receiving texts from YESTERDAY too while I was away from wifi service. IF you come across this issue - please call Straight Talk and/or log on to your Straight Talk online account and talk to an online customer service representative and get their direct line phone number for iPhone support and have your Reference PIN number available. I've only had my iphone 5s for a week. I keep getting an error message of "Server has stopped responding." I need the server to work. Does anyone know if there is a "fix" for the problem? Other wise, I probably best return for a refund and get a Samsung. Thanks

Unlikely. Based on the complete lack of detail of the issue provided it is entirely possible the same issue would occur.
Unless and until the user provides some actual details of the problem, there is nothing the indicate that the issue is with the iPhone. -
Pretty much what the title says but if for some reason it doesn't...
I just got an iPhone 4 today and it was working well until I went to hook it up to my computer and it asked me if I wanted to set it up as a new phone or back up all my stuff from my old ipod.
I accidentally clicked that and it had pretty much ruined my phone, deleted all contacts everything. I then did a reset through itunes and now when I send a text message it sends as my email instead of my phone number.
I've gone to settings->messages and turned off and on imessage and didn't fix it.
How do I fix this?Yeah, you fried the phone big time.
Go into iMessage settings and set the Caller ID to your phone number. -
I have seral email accounts on my Mac. One does not work on the Mac but works on my iPad and iPhone. The account information was added on the Mac. I keeps rejecting my password.
You don't input the information in manually for iCloud mail. It is automatically set up for you when you sign into iCloud via System Preferences and choose the Mail checkbox. Sign out of iCloud or deselect Mail in iCloud preferences. Open Mail's preferences and choose accounts tab. If iCloud account still exists in the list, delete it. Sign back into iCloud or check the box for mail. The account will be auto created for you.

Iphone 5s on Verizon Network Wifi not working Wifi keeps coming in and out
I just recently purchased the Iphone 5s from Bestbuy and I have noticed that my data usage is enormous. I haven't even had the phone for a week but my data usage is almost at 50% of my monthly capacity. I have my iphone connected to WIFI always when I am at home and work. The majority of my day I am in a building with WIFI. I called Verizon to figure this thing out and they said that my WIFI connection keeps coming in and out and that is why I have used so much data. Is there a way this can be fixed or should I return my phone? The Verizon Wireless Rep told me there is an issue with the WIFI but since I am new to iphone I just wanted to try everything before I return the phone. I have AT&T U-verse cable and internet. I never had a problem with the WIFI on my Galaxy S3. The wireless icon always appears to be on but the REP told me that isn't always the best indicator that the phone is using purely WIFI.
In the US, Apple handles all iPhone warranty/support issues. So, make an appointment at any Apple store.
