No. Changing user profile is different than re-stetting the password. When you change a user profile the password reset will depend on password_* attributes of a new profile. Profile is a set of attributes that apply to the user. You can find different profile password_* attributes at -

User Valid to changed while assigning role to a set of users in SU10

Hi All
I had a task of assigning a role to a set of users in various systems across landscape. I find that some of the users had their valid to date (logon data tab) changed to their last login date. Moreover, in every system; the list of user ids who had this issue of valid to date changed to their last logon date is different. It seems it occurs randomly in various system but out of every 10-11 users 3-4 get affected with this issue. Has anyone faced such an issue before and how could we resolve this issue.

PI NWA Log Config change does it need restart?

I would like to see detail trace info of FTP messages, hopefully to see ftp commands in the trace.
So I have changed the File adapter default trace level to "All" in NWA Log Configuration.
I logged out of NWA and posted some ftp messages and relogged into NWA and looking log viewer (defaultTrace) file, I don't see the details.
Do I need to restart the PI server this trace level to take effect?
also is there any other way to get to see the details of the ftp commands?

No, a restart is not required. The application should start writing at the new logging severity. It is possible that the message was processed on a different java server node. Anyway, you can check note #761921 Creating an XI Adapter Framework trace file. This documents the exact steps required to increase the logging severity.
There is another tool available in note #1514898 XPI Inspector for troubleshooting XI. You will be able to see the ftp commands in here also.

I am authorized for iTunes purchased music as an administrative user on my Powerbook
My wife has a user account on the same machine
Does it count for 2 authorized computers ?
If not, how do I allow her as a user of the same computer to listen to purchased music in my administrative account?
(note songs are on the Shared user so we both have acccess

I am trying to determine the impacts of not having LIBPATH set in an AIX 5.3 environment running Oracle 10.2.0.4 64 bit databases. It would appear these databases may have been ported from Linux and the LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable was set in some of the scripts (i.e. Cold backup that shutsdown and starts the database).
My interpretation from research is LD_LIBRARY_PATH would be ignored by AIX, although some hits I have found show this envionment variable set and LIBPATH. If LIBPATH is not set for database scripts (i.e. shutdown/startup for backup, database maintenance, etc) is there any concern? LIPBPATH is not set in the .profile for the oracle account either.

Alter user ...changing profiles..urgent..

I wanted to know one thing if i have a list of users and i want to change their idle time limit what wud be a good script all together so that i dont have to make changes for every user and i can do it in one statement for all of them. Please suggest.

If all your users have only one profile ( or the DEFAULT profile assigned to every user when it is created ) you can change the limit on resource on that profile and it will apply to all users.
For example if every user has default profile, change the resource limit idle time like this :
alter profile default limit idle_time 55;

Right now user first make change in User Variable then select its matching member from Dim_A and then rows are filtered, so i want my user to only make selection in Drop down and press go rest all would be done automatically.

For a certian Application I am using I need to change the format of the Time and Date. I had no problems in Mountain Lion. In the advanced tab of languages and Region the time and date formats will not change. I need the date format to read as 01/01/14 and time format to read 13:00. As I said this was easily done in Mountain Lion and all previous Apple OS. I suspect it's an issue with in the OS.

You're right, it has been that way for a long time. I've never bothered reporting it as a bug since it's simple enough to deal with, but reporting it would be a reasonable thing to do.

We are switching on the Approval Management Engine (AME) for iProcurement and Purchasing.
we are about to assign the AME responsibilities “Approvals Management Administrator” and “Approvals Management Business Analyst” to a user , USER123
Does USER123 need to be set up as a buyer to create AME rules ?

AME rules for iProcurement are defined for requester. So to test the AME rule itself, you need not be a buyer.
Besides, configuration responsibility can be granted to any employee (From IT department) who may not be a buyer in the role.
So the answer is "Not required"

Synaptics touchpad sensitivity will not change

Under Synaptics device settings, The sensitivity will not change when I adjust the sensitivity setting with the slider. Uninstalled Synaptics driver & reinstalled with the latest version. The sensitivity is the same with or without the Synaptics driver installed. Thanks!

Populate enddate after change in user status in OIM 11g ?

We have a requirement whenever a user is getting 'Disabled' end-date needs to be set to the current system date and When the user is enabled end-date need to be reset to some predefined date
We are planning to go with custom adapter for this. Now in OIM 11g USR_STATUS is not working as expected. Then how do we trigger for disable or enable.
Is event handler is the only option for this scenario ? Please advice.

there are two ways to handle this
first is to use post update event handler
get the user status and update end date and start date
second, using custom adapter.
no need to put trigger.
just attach your code on the response of enable user and disable user task in AD,OID ...or so on work flow.

Does everyone need to use the same Apple ID/password for iTunes & App Store in iOS 8 Family share?

I just set up Family share on my 5S and my wife's 5, both running iOS 8. I am the organizer.
In order for my wife's purchases to be charged to my CC (per Family Share setup), does she need to be signed in under my Apple ID and password under Settings -> iTunes & App Store? Or, can she use her Apple ID (that she used with her previous App Store purchases)? Additionally, if she makes purchases in iTunes or the App Store under my Apple ID, does she need to enter my password?
If she's logged into "iTunes & App Store" on her phone, using her Apple ID, will it work?
