Im trying to find a way to file share with my ps3 on my power book g4 with one of apples apps. i dont want to use media link.
i seen every one using media link but i dont want to pay to use it. any apple apps out there for free?
Unfortunately iWeb cannot read or import previously published files, only generate them. You'll have to recreate your site from scratch.
However, Chapter 2.3 on the iWeb FAQ.org site has tips on using some of the existing files, image, audio, video, etc., from the published site in the recreation of the site.

I just purchased the SX60 and have been trying to find the way to change the "startup image".
I just purchased the SX60 and have been trying to find the way to change the "startup image". I have the SX40, Sx30 SX1 and all allow me to change the startup image and the sounds through MyCamera. When I opened MyCamera, it tells me that it won't work on my model. Does anyone know how to change the startup image? In the menu it gives me the choice to either have it on or off. Thanks so much!
Looks like Canon has changed what they ship with the newer cameras. My SX50 came with a disc & no paper manual. Because of that I searched the Canon site (USA site) & found the program set you need to download (according to what it says). Now there are different versions based on your operating system so for my search I've chosen Win 8.0 & the program file recommended is

I'm trying to find a way to move pictures from Preview to iPhoto. Tried "rebuilding library"...nothing happens. Pictures ssomehow wound up in Preview after I needed to do a clean install (Snow Leopard) and moved files from an external drive. Help!
If you saw the images with Preview in the other iPhoto Library, than try to open iPhoto with that Library:

If the Photos are there, replace the iPhoto Library in your Pictures folder with the one from the external. (posted by Keith)
My response:
The pictures don't appear in Preview in the other user account. They also don't appear in the external drive (!!!????). I discovered I can get the pictures into iPhoto by saving from Preview to the desktop, then importing into iPhoto, but only one at a time.
Clearly the files are on the hard drive somewhere, but where? The 'iPhoto library" icon that appears in my Pictures folder is a "package" which can't be opened on it's own....it's only able to be imported into Preview.
This feels like the Twilight Zone to me..... -

I just purchased a MacBook Pro Retina. Checked my OSX and it is version 10.8.1... trying to find a way to upgrade to a higher version. In the app store it doesnt show the update nor downloading the new Mountain Lion OXS doesnt work. Please help

Not yet. There was an upgrade page to 10.8.2 for the late 2012 models but it's down now. I have to assume that Apple pulled it because of some bugs. I would look for something next week, more likely than not. In the meantime, the OP should be good with 10.8.1 until the update shows up again.

I would like to purchase some outdoor capable wireless speakers which will receive the signal from the airport Express.. Is this possible??? Do you knwo what speakers I need to buy??? I have road runner webmail and I am trying to find a way to import my email addressess to my imac pro. I imagine that I don't have to type them all in!
Sorry but I know of no app that will display keywords during Slideshow. Several - including iPhoto - will display the title and you can change lots of titles quite quickly using the Batch Change command. As to what gets displayed during a ScreenSaver that's a matter for the individual screensaver.

I am using MAC OSx 10.5.8 (9L31a) as my operation system. The TV says "No signal. Check connected device's power, cable connection and source selection." Seems to me that that goes in hand with what the Samsung tech said about the Mac needing to be forces to use the external display. But how do I do that?

IF you set up find my ipod on the ipod and it is on and it is connected to wi-fi and the thief has not restored it, then you may be able to get an approximate location using icloud.
Otherwise it cannot be tracked. -

The App store is a iOS function and cannot be deleted. Try checking other home screens/folders and see if you can locate it. If not, go into Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.

may I use photos I find on google images and media i find on youtube? Or must all be my own stuff?No ! well not just any photo image or "media". The person who created the photo images has a copyright protection IF he/she wishes to impose it - ditto video and other media.
However if its out of copyright by virtue of age and certain other factors - its considered in "The Public Domain" which is why you see paintings by the Impressionists all over chocolate boxes and posters to name but two!
There are websites offering images donated by the creators and all for free.
Taking and using a picture you do not own copyright and placing online where it can be downloaded is first "publishing" and you need permission and placing in a situation where it can be copied and re-distributed is a breach of copyright.
Look at the tail end credits on any DVD... the above is always included.
Others rmay correct me but Copyright in some countries is vaild from creation until 50 years after the death of the creator. However, that is not always the case. Example, assume I am bequeathed a photo archive and on the last day year 50, I publish a completely new version of the archive, wizzed through Photoshop, cleaned, cropped and modified in other ways.. then I can assert my claim for copyright of the renewed archive, but its a bit more complicated!!!
You can search for "Free Photo Images ( media) , or royalty free images and if you land on a particular website you can ask permission. If you send me a request, my reply will be NO... and you get a warning of dire consequences if your infringe my copyright! Other may be more lenient and in fact feel pretty good to be asked.
A way to get some guidance is to check out Wikipedia and the many images included in its subject matter, check out the copyright status.
Beware of using photo images of paintings in Galleries and Museums, they may have copyright conditions.. but one can always contact them to seek permission.
Search for Copyright and ownership and it should bring up some good information. Depending on your country.. it may have its own Copyright website. USA are more detailed than most, The UK has the 1988 Copyright Act.
Also remember that all photo images carry exif embedded data which among other things carries the copyright information and shows up in a google search for the right keyword! Scanned images processed through Photoshop and other editors can have the metatdata added also. -
New iMac. Flash drive is primary for OS and apps. I want to use my HD 2 (1 TB hard drive) for my bulky photo and music files. Can I direct iPhoto and iTunes to use the larger hard drive as the primary target when importing?
Yes. Unfortunately, I don't know the specifics because I don't use iPhoto anymore and I completely copied over 15 years of MP3 files recently when I installed 10.7. Needless to say, I have not opened iTunes since and probably never will again - not because of iTunes but because of my stupidity. I did have some of the files backed up but I hadn't backed up in a while.......anyway....
When I imported my CD's, I had them go directly to my external firewire. I can't remember exactly how to set it, but in the preference section of iTunes you can specify an import destination to any drive that's available to your machine. I did this with iPhoto as well way back at one point when I was using Tiger, but I don't remember the specifics on that either. I can't imagine they would have discontinued support for that feature since then.
