Image layout

Hi
Quick question...im wanting to have an image on a page, with text next to that image not underneath it. I am currently using a simple two column one row table, with the image in one box and the text in the other which is ok. Wondering if anyone has an alternative method, which doesn't involve changing my template since I only want this on one page.

Adding a image in webcenter spaces using Image Layout Component

Hi,
i was trying to add a image in webcenter spaces using Image Layout Component , The following steps i did
I placed some images in Webcenter server location .(c:/images)
put the folder location in Image Source ( Image Layout Component Properties) as file://c:/images/top_image.jpg
But the image did not display in WC. if i put some web url its working fine, so i just wonder whether we can point to a file location as the image source.

Use Tables for Image Layout?

I'm in the process of learning HTML and putting together some
sites. The book I'm reading is several years old but is very
thorough. It suggests taking slices from a page mockup in PS/IR,
optimizing (saving only the images, not code), then re-assembling
it by writing the code that puts it all together in tables.
Is this an outdated/"bad" way to accomplish this? If so, what
is the "best"/recommended way for slice-based graphic layout? Keep
in mind I'd like to us image maps later to create links and
rollovers.

I'm not a fan of sliced-image layouts, but yes, that's just
the way I'd do
it. I'd slice the page mockup myself and then place it into a
table with the
right number of rows and columns with as minimal and clean
HTML as
possible.

Best Practices for image layout and positioning using anchored frames in Framemaker 10

Hi,
I'm looking for the best practices in how to layout my images in Framemaker 10 so that they translate correctly to Robohelp 9. I currently have images inside of Anchored frames that "Run into" the right side of my text. I've adjusted the size of the anchored frame so that my text flows correctly around the image. Everything looks good in Framemaker! Yeah! The problem is that when I link my Framemaker document to Robohelp, the text does not flow around my image in the same manner. On a couple of Robohelp screens the image is running into the footer. I'm wondering if I should be using tables in Framemaker in order to get the page layout that I'm looking for. Also, I went back and forth...is this a Framemaker question or is this a Robohelp question. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I wish I could offer some advice, rather than simply adding to your question. I think there is something odd that happens with anchored frames.
I have been going through fits trying to figure out why the placement of my graphics shifts when I run them through Frame 10-to-RoboHelp 9 conversion. The placement in our books is flush left to the body text area. However, when they convert, some are flush left, some are centered, and a very few are flush right. My boss is very unhappy with me, as I have been unable to figure out why this is happening. I didn't create these files, so I don't know if it's something that goes back to how the graphics were initially imported. But I can't figure out why everything looks right in Framemaker, with the frame attached to an anchor tag, etc. but the placement goes hinky when they convert.
Any insights are appreciated. I'm wondering if it's going to come down to deleting them and recreating the graphic frame.

Download webpage archive - no images + layout lost

Dear Apple and Safari forum,
I love working with Safari, no popups, tabbed browsing, nice look etc., but without being able to download a webpage archive with all its content, including images, original HTML layout etc., it is all but useless to me.
I am using Safari 1.3.2 on an iMac G3 Snow, 56k dalup, 640Mb ram, 30gig HD and OSX Panther 10.3.9
There are no options in Safari 1.3.2 for inc images or links in a webpage download. Dragging images to the desktop is NOT a viable option.
I can't install Safari 2 because it requires Tiger, and even then it may not solve my problem.
Using I.E. does solve my problem - full web archive with original layout including active links to a depth of 5 if neccessary.
Being a devoted Apple/Mac user for 25 years, I'd prefer to use Safari.
Is there a fix for this?

Use "Report Bugs to Apple" under the Safari menu to send feedback to Apple - there is no guarantee that anyone from Apple will see your post in this user-to-user discussion forum.
A web-archive feature was added to Safari 2 which is only available for OS X 10.4.x. The web archive can only be read by Safari 2.x.
You can use either Firefox or Camino, both of which can save a web page as a standard html file (which can be read by any browser) with a folder containing all the images.
There are utilities listed on VersionTracker that will let you download web sites up to a number of layers deep.

Creating a Simple Multi-image Layout

I am working with Aperture and Keynote to present multiple images as a single "slide". At the present I'm not looking to create a fancy collage, just a simple layout. Imagine your high school or college yearbook with multiple portrait frames on one page. I'd like to create something like four cells across and three down for a total of 12 equal size cells appearing in one page.
I've done a little fiddling with both Aperture Light Table and Keynote Builds, and I find that they are a bit cumbersome and require me to resize and reposition each image.
Ideally, I'd like to establish a cell template - or a variety of cell templates - so I can access them each time I want to create a multi-cell picture. I'm wondering if there is a piece of Apple - or Apple-compatible software that would enable me to create a cell template on the screen with little trouble and then drag photos from my file and drop them into the selected cells.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Being lazy, I would simply start with something like the "Brushed Canvas" template, go to the first *master slide*, and duplicate the existing image placeholders until I had as many as I needed. Then resize and reposition them to suit. In the Master Slide Inspector, remove the title and body from the slide.
With the master slide set up, start creating your individual slides using that master and populate the placeholders with your own images.
For reference details, there is always the Keynote User Guide available from the Help menu in Keynote.

Thumbnail image layout help

I need to assemble a page of thumbnail images sized and evenly spaced for import into a product catalog created in ID CS5. I use Adobe Creative Ste CS5. Would PS CS5 work best with this type of layout or should I use....?

Image layouts display differently in Safari than in Explorer

I have noticed that web page images display differently in Safari than in Explorer on a PC. On a PC, the web page may display three images side by side. In Safari, I might get two images side by side and the theid image below. Is there any correction for this? Thanks.

Button and image layout help.

It is me again. I need some more help. I want to put the four buttons at the south border, and I want to put the image at the North Center. Now I want them obviously to be on the same panel. I would also like to add them all at once like in my code. Is there an override mechanism so that I can just put the image at the NORTH CENTER and keep the four buttons at the south border?

Print Module templates layouts do not update on the fly

Print layouts do not update on the fly when attempting to choose between various Print Module>Template Browser> Lightroom or User templates. This occurs in all three Layout Styles. The very first layout chosen in Single Image/Contact Sheet, Picture Package, or Custom Package is the permanent 'default' and cannot be changed. The Preview will show as expected however any image stays stuck in the very first layout I chose after installing LR4 beta.
For example, I first chose Template Browser>Lightroom Templates>Maximum Size, and Layout Style>Single Image/Contact Sheet. Clicking through any other Templates (Lightroom or User defined) will alter the preview but not the layout display in the Print window. Same problem in either of the other Layout styles. I have been trying for days to rectify this, but it seems somehow more difficult than LR3. and not what I expect.
As a comparison, using the same steps in LR3 works perfectly as all print template/layouts can be changed on the fly as expected. I have no problems generating different layouts in LR3 and have been using LR print module since version 1 without this issue.
Is this a bug or are there any extra steps or workarounds I have not discovered? Any other testers seen this?

The steps as follows:
1) Lightroom 3.6 & LR4Beta exist side by side.
2) LR4 Beta> Print Module;
3) From filmstrip choose image;
4) Template Browser> Lightroom4Beta Templates>Maximum Size;
5) Preview displays as expected;
6) Layout Styles>Single Image/Contact Sheets
7) Template Browser> Lightroom4Beta Templates>click through any other templates (Lightroom or User defined);
8) Image layout in main window does not update;
9) Previews update;
10) Layout Style>Picture Package;
11) Template Browser>Maximum size is then automatically shown, however the template in the main window is actually (1) 7x5, (2) 2.5x3.5;
12) Any further attempts to change the layouts regardless of Style Layout choices are not successful.
13) Close LR4Beta>re-open LR4Beta;
14) Repeat test;
15) Print Module layouts do not update on the fly as expected;
16) Close LR4Beta and all applications;
17) Reboot iMac.
18) Open LR4Beta only;
19) LR4Beta>Print Module>Template Browser >Lightroom Templates>Maximum Size;
20) Image displays in main layout window with Template and Preview display as expected;
21) Choose different image>Template Browser>Lightroom Templates>Maximum Size;
22) Click through templates, layouts DO NOT update in main window although previews do automatically update.
23) CONCLUSION - In Lightroom 4 Beta>Print Module>Template Browser, image layouts do not change after initial choice as expected.

Need advice/idea about Image gallery

I'm trying to make an dynamic image gallery WITH!!! some
active buttons above (for example: BUTTON1 with function "delete"
and BUTTON2 with function "update") a picture and some "dataoutput"
below (for example:Price). So, separate cell must look like:

For implementation this task I have:
1) mySQL database "gallery" with table "test" and columns
"Id", "path to image", "Price"
2) 2 gifs: BUTTON1, BUTTON2
Before my first trying I thought that it's simple, and I've
tried:

And I afraid that I've chosen a "wrong method" (I mean my
code above)
Please, give me some recommendations or advices.

re the 2 buttons above the image: consider turning them into
css image
overlays instead (when the buttons appear OVER [not above]

Placed images with mini bridge

multiple image layouts where images are placed with mini bridge are not editable until the layout is saved, well still not, save and reopen and the images are not placed in the layout. deleated ps6 today, reinstalled, updated, purchased cc for ps.... still not working

I just tried this with a new document in CC, and I had no problem opening and editing the placed Smart Object in the unsaved document. If you place a jpg or other file that does not allow layers, and try to add a layer, it will save psb file and you will lose any editing, as the jpg will still be embedded. You either need to place psd files, or once you make some edits, use the smart object replace content to replace the jpg with the psd or psb file.

From the day CS4 appeared, with its strange bland interface and non-standard behaviour I turned tabbed windows off and have never let them back.
So I don't know.

Custom TMG FBA Returns Data Is Invalid On Images

We are moving a published SharePoint site from ISA 2006 to TMG 2010. The listener uses a customized FBA page. After moving the custom FBA directory to the ..\Templates\CookieAuthTemplates directory and restarting the firewall services on each
array member, the page displays, but all requests for images fail (e.g. CookieAuth.dll?GetPic?formdir=6&image=icon_help.jpg) with a 500 error "The data is invalid." We have other customized FBA pages on other publishes sites and they work
normally. They were also moved over from our old ISA 2006 servers.
I've seen mention of this error in other posts, but it's been related to forward proxies accessing external sites. I can't find anything that falls into this scenario. I've verified that the file system permissions match the other directories,
including the default ISA directory. I can open the images on the array servers in paint. Requests for css files work fine, for example CookieAuth.dll?GetPic?formdir=9&image=layout.css returns the css file.
Any ideas?
