Image margin properties in topic not retained when publishing to Word

I have image text wrap margins working fine in my robohelp 9 project. When I publish to Word 2010 (docx) the margin becomes set to "0". The Word template image default is set to "square" text wrap with right, left margin set to .13" (what i want). What can i do to retain text wrap margin when publishing to Word?

I have looked around RoboHelp 9 and Word 2010 and also gone back to RoboHelp 7 and Word 2003. I have tried mapping to Word and using the project CSS.
The results are always the same, no margin as you have found. Also I cannot find a way of setting default margins in either version of Word.

Failing that one option might be to amend the image so that it has a border the same colour as the background of your pages. That would give the appearance of a margin. It does of course mean if you ever change the background colour you will have a bit of image reworking so not ideal.

Links not working when published

I know, I know, this topic has been discussed before but I am very very new at this and most answers I just don't understand (I am used to visiting not building sites). Anyway, I am having a **** of a time getting some links in my webpages to work (better said, most work, some not). I don't understand, I've checked all links, no problems (not even when published locally). But when I FTP it to my host something seems to get lost in the transfer. I've deleted the pages where this problem occurs and made new ones. Doesn't help. Does any one have any idea and know how to explain the answer to me in the simplest terms? I would be so very grateful!

The correct ftp settings would be your username and password and what you use to connect to your server. If you have already uploaded your site, then these settings would be correct. If using Cyberduck with incorrect settings, you would not be able to connect to your hosting space full stop.
Anyway, you said that you were just uploading the contents? If this is the case, perhaps if some of your links do not work, then you have not uploaded all the files that you need to. If uploading the contents of your site folder, then when Cyberduck asks you to upload, or you click it under action at the top, it will ask you to select the files - normally you would go to User and then Sites and then click on your site folder. When this shows up, click on the first file that is shown and do a select all and this will then upload all the contents. Check to ensure that all the html pages are there, plus their relevant folders - these folders contain all the CSS - so for each html page their is a folder of the same name e.g. About Us.html and About Us folder. There are also feed files that need to be uploaded too.
What you can try to see if it works is to upload your whole site folder and separate index file and see if the links work when you do this. Your url will be different if you do this, but just try it and see.
The other problems when links do not work is that you could have either an image or another text box too near to the navigation menu or link that covers it up so that it will not work. Go into iWeb and check this by doing a command A to see placement and you can then move images and text boxes around if this is the case.

Hyperlinks edits are not retained when site is published

I am trying to link images on a page to specific url in iWeb slideshow. I am setting up the link as an external link and paste the entire url from the slideshow. I have gotten it to work but not consistently. If I cut and paste the url from the slideshow into the link inspector and edit the photo number (after the #) that edit does not seem to be retained when I publish the site. In fact, when I view the link characteristics in the inspector the type has changed to file and the name of the file is the photo file name.
Any ideas what is happening. Like I said, I have gotten it to work but I cannot seem to figure out why some work and others do not.

Point of clarification... I was not linking directly to the slide show but rather the page that is automatically generated from a gallery page when you click on a thumbnail. This keeps the formatting of that automatically generated page.
Update: I've been able to resolve the issue. The solution I found is as follows:
For each of the photo links I set the "Link To" value to "One of My Pages" and selected the main page. Then I set the "Link To" value to "An External Page" and then my pasted url was saved.
One of my coworkers suggested that I create five additional pages formatted exactly like I those that are automatically generated but DO NOT add them to the navigation bar. This method also works.

RoboHelp HTML 9.0.1 - My images are not showing when published

Hi all,
We have just upgraded from RH5 to RH9. We are using IE9. All of our projects transferred over just fine - except for one. We are able to publish this topic; however, the images within the topics are not being displayed when we publish - we get the dreaded red 'x'. We can see the images when viewing the topics in RH. However, they are not listed in the images folder in the Project Manager. The images can be seen using Quick view and Internet view. However, they cannot be seen when we generate a Word document.
Every other project is functioning properly. We can publish everything else just fine. This one project is our oldest project, but I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
Any guidance or direction will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your help. I did attach one of my images as a baggage file, and low and behold, the image appeared in my topic after publishing (I'm sorry I thought you were both nuts). I just hope there is something I can do short of attach over 6500 images as baggage files.

Why doesn't the image from my fillable form not appear when I save it as a PDF?

I created a fillable form and when I save it as a PDF and view my image at the top does not appear. How can I fix this?

Never mind. Apparently it was just that image.

Child topics not appearing when clicked in parent project

Hello,
I have generated a Webhelp parent project containing two child projects in RoboHelp 9. The tables of contents appear for all projects correctly, but when I click some of the topics, they will not display, rather I get that message that my webpage cannot be found. Most of the topics work fine when clicked.
If it helps, it seems that the topics that won't display are ones that are new or have recent edits.
I've tried regenerating my projects and re-creating the TOCs, but I am not sure what else I can try. When I generate the child projects on their own, all topics work fine, it is only when merged as a child project in the main project that the topics won't show.

It looks like I was wrong, it isn't just new topics, it is a mix of old and new topics that aren't appearing.
When I look into the folders of the generated merged topics, it looks like these topic files are not generating.
For example:
I generate parent project GP and its topics work fine.
I generate parent project LR and its topics work fine.
I generate project GP as a child project merged in parent project LR, several of child project GP's topic files have not generated.
I tried to move the missing files from the main GP generated folders into LR's child version of GP where they should appear, but I get this message: "Cannot move file abcd: The filename, directory name, or volume syntax is incorrect".
The topics that did generate properly, both new and old, do appear to open to the correct pages when clicked in the TOC.

General Settings not retained when connecting via VPN

We have a user who connects to SAP via a VPN connection. Since then they have found that any form settings/column amendments made are not being retained when next logging into SAP.
When these changes were made direct in the office, they are retained.
My question. Is there any differences in how the settings are retained within SAP when accessing via a VPN?

Hi,
When using your VPN are yo using Terminal LIcense or Remote Desktop Connection?
Please do the following to save form settings:
1. Only 1 module should be open when using form settings.
Close other modules that doesn't need.
2. Close the module after changed. To make sure the settings are saved.
3. Always close all the module before exiting SBO program, use the click FIle and Exit habit.
4. Terminal Licensing should be use when connecting remotely.

Flash not displaying when published

When publishing my flash site, the only thing that displays on screen is the link for a flash update. I am not sure why this is. I have everything up to date on my computer. I believe it has to do with the code in the html that was generated by flash. Please take a look and let me know. Thanks

Nevermind I found the answer...
For anyone else who is having the same problem...

this defaults to 15.0.0.0 and needs to be set at the current version of flash.
Something adobe should look at.

Rollover states not working when published online. Suggestions?

I have created rollover states for image navigation. Works great in preview. Works great when published to desktop. I have uploaded to FTP site. Some of the rollovers work, others do not.? I have replaced and re-uploaded, still not working. The normal and active states all work, but the rollover state vanishes. The images are in the image folder. The css pages do have the code to swap the images. Same issue in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and on ipad.
What am I missing? Thank you for your help!

Photo gallery not displaying when published to .mac

Hey,
I'm having some trouble publishing my photo gallery. I do not want to publish it as a web gallery from iPhoto then link to it with iWeb. What I want to do is to send a gallery from iPhoto into iWeb, and have it published as part of the website. When I send a gallery over to iWeb, it loads up great, and I have all the functionality that one would expect when doing this so by all indications, it will load up great on my .mac account. When I publish the website, it does say that it is publishing the photo gallery page, but the issue is that none of my galleries ever show up! I do not know what to do, I have tried completely deleting the photo gallery page and remaking it in case I did something wrong in the design somewhere, but it still does not load up. If I link in a web gallery, it does show up, but, again, that is not what I want to do. I am at a loss for what may be causing the error. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Publishing a iPhotoalbum to iWeb is the same as dragging the album from the media browser to iWeb.

There's only one thing to do. Publish it. No need to upload. iWeb takes care of that.
It helps if you provide a URL to said page.

Video not viewable when published

I have tried posting a video to the web. I have used the podcast pages and the movie page. Neither one works. I called apple, and the guy that I talked to said that it might be a size issue. So, I tried posting a very small version of the video, and it still was not viewable once published.
What appears when I click on the page is a transparent quicktime "Q" with a question mark over it. When I tried publishing the video as a podcast the rss that iweb assigned was the address. Can someone tell me how to fix this?

What format is the video? I have uploaded a 50MB (just to test I could do it) video to iweb pages exported from imovie '06 and also used Quicktime to compress for web. Visual Hub is also good for compressing videos for the web.

IWeb moves pictures by itself, links do not work when publishing to folder

When I first started using iWeb i would save the page I was working on and then publish it to a folder so I could look at it in Safari and it used to work fine. Now when I do this the pictures come up and they are pushed up halfway off of the top of the page and you aren't able to scroll down all the way to see the bottom of the background picture that I have. Also, the links to the other pages of the site do not work after publishing it to a folder. If anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it!

All hyperlinks are not working when published

All of the links work on iweb 09; however, when published some of the links are not working. To get an idea of what I mean you can go to the site, thinkwhatif.org and see it. Would someone be able to provide an answer how to solve it? I have unlinked and relinked too and that didn't work (at least the one time I did it).

It's a layout issue. Two of your buttons (who or what) are in the navigation part of your page (nav_layer), which is back layer of your page. In your page, the content (body_layer) overlays the bottom of this layer (nav_layer) where the buttons are.

Show layout (iWeb > View > Show layout) and replace the buttons in the content. As you can see , you 've got also a empty textbox in the content
