Imovie 10 export problem

Bonjour,
J'ai fait un projet avec mix video et photo et musique mais quand j'essaye de l'exporter imovie plante
quelqu'un aurait il une solution
Merci

What usually works for me is to export the iMovie as Quicktime, Full Quality. I usually specify to have it created on my desktop so I can find it, and I give it the same name as the original iMovie, but append QT to the name.
This gives a single clip movie. You will need to quit your iMovie, and then create a new iMovie project. Be sure to name it so that you know it is the second version. Drag this qt clip into it. Be patient. It can take time in iM2. In later versions, you can have more than one iMovie project open at the same time, but not in iM2.
After you have the qt version in a new movie project, check to see that it plays properly. If you had chapter markers in the original iMovie, you will need to make them again. Also, check the end of the movie....sometimes the qt version will have some 'snow' for several seconds at the end. You probably want to move the cursor to the spot just before that starts and crop off the unwanted end. Close iMovie.
Next, open iDVD and create a new project. Instead of sending your iMovie by 'exporting to iDVD' just drag it into iDVD's main screen.
You should now see your movie in iDVD, and can burn your project.
Good luck.
Post back if the above does not help.

  • IMovie exporting problem! Please someone help, I have a deadline.

Hello, I've been having a problem with exporting my movie to my camera roll. I recently filmed a wedding video and started editing it on iMovie for iOS because i'm most comfortable with this program.
I edited the beginning and wanted to export the 3 min part to my camera roll so i could later add speeches to it. The loading keeps getting stuck at the same spot not even half way. I'm currently running the latest software iOS 7.1.1 on an iPad 3 32gb. I cleared some extra space which left me with 3.2 GB and I still experienced the stopped loading bar. I tried turning it off and on closing the app completely and it didn't help one bit. I'm not deleting it because I will have to start all over and my deadline is at the end of July. Someone Please Help! My support has expired from apple and $20 is way to much for a small problem like this. I would appreciate some help on "saving" this couples wedding video!

You you can layer in the speeches, from audio or from another video without losing the background sound.   You can also adjust the volume of the fore and background sound to get the right blend.
the instructions are a bit hard to follow, but I was able to layer a vocal only, from one video clip, over the another clip at the point I selected.  I was also able to adjust the volume to balance the sound to my liking.
these instructions are available within the app....
Add just the audio from a video clip
With your project open, scroll the timeline so that the playhead (the white vertical line) appears where you want to add the audio clip.If the playhead is resting over an existing clip, the new clip is added either before or after the existing clip, whichever is closest to the playhead.
Tap Video on the right above the timeline. All your video clips appear in the media library above.Note:  If your iPad is in portrait orientation, first tap the Media Library button in the upper-right corner, then tap Video at the bottom of the media library.
In the media library, do any of the following:
To preview a clip before adding it to your project: Tap to select a clip, then tap the Play button .You can also swipe your finger left and right over a clip to manually preview it, which can help you identify exactly which part of the clip you want to use.
To sort clips by date: Tap the disclosure triangle at the top of the media library, then tap Oldest First or Newest First.
To show only unused or favorite clips: Tap the disclosure triangle at the top of the media library, then tap Favorites or Unused. If you want to mark a clip as a favorite, tap “Find more favorites” and follow the instructions in Review and share video clips.
In the media library, tap the video clip, then tap the More Options button .
Tap the Audio Only button .

  • IMovie Export Problems - PLEASE HELP !!

I have assembled a 3 hour movie in iMovie. I have tried to export approx. 20 times with no success. I have duplicated and renamed the project - deleting the original, this still does not work. I attempted to use Screenflow to record the movie playing in full screen playback - the playback crashes approx 20 mins in. I have tried to play the project within iMovie and record the preview screen (on largest size available) and it crashes approx 30 mins in. I am in despair as I have worked on the content of the movie for approx 2 years.
    Tech Info
I have upgraded to Mountain Lion during the creation of the movie.
I have updated iMovie when updates are available.
I have 12GB RAM on board.
Hard Drive (1TB) is has approx 280GB free.
    iMac - Oct 2011 - 27"
Really appreciate it if someone could help. Obviously I will not bin the project but am definitely looking for an easier fix than recreating the entire movie as I do not know if this is possible, both technically and mentally with the time that was put in already.
    Thanks in advance

If you have Time Machine running, turn it off whenever you are exporting a project (and remember to turn it back on after the export is complete).
Additionally, try splitting the project into two parts (or maybe three or more). Keep the duplicate you created earlier from the original so that you have at least one full copy of your project intact. Now create two (or more) duplicates and rename them appropriately (such as My Project Part 1, My Project Part 2 and so forth).
Delete the second half from the first duplicate (My Project Part 1). Delete the first half from the second duplicate (My Project Part 2). If you created three or more duplicates, then break them up into the relevant segments by deleting appropriate sections.
Now try to export one project at a time. Hopefully, iMovie will be able to handle the shorter projects. If one of the projects fails to export, there may be a corruption in that project file. Splitting that project further may help to isolate the problem.
You may, of course, end up with several exported project files (movies), but at least you will have something for your efforts. If your intention is to burn a DVD, you can include them as separate movies on the DVD, but bear in mind that for a single layer DVD the total running time is limited to 2 hours when using iDVD (including menus). If publishing to the web, you could upload them as separate "episodes" or the like.
TIP: When splitting up the project into shorter sections, you could add an appropriate title to the end and/or beginning of each section before exporting (such as, "End of Part One" and "Part Two" etc.) to avoid an abrupt end or start for each section.

  • IMovie export problem (error -108)

Just wondering who out there is experiencing problems with finalising and exporting projects in iMovie 11. I may have found one reason for this problem. I've been playing around with the video effects and when I export a simple 20 second clip with using the "Hard Light" effect I have problems exporting. I changed the effect to something else, "Vignette", for example, and it exports fine! Has anyone else found this or maybe if you're having problems, try to export the movie without having used the effect. It would be interesting to hear if there's a problem with using the "Hard Light" effect. I've just bought the latest MacBook Pro 13" 4GB 2.4GHz with Lion 10.7.3.
    Thanks

  • Imovie export problem

    hello
I would like to come and post this message because I do not know what to do, I have a Macbook Pro mid-2010 comes with Snow Leopard I installed mavericks and therefore the new iMovie version month everything worked except fan which runs at the bottom when I exportais my videos but since 4 days not use iMovie, I had in message "application not responding" I had to force quit .. so I reinstalled everything the OS X and mavericks and iMovie starts now but I can not export my montages, the application quits unexpectedly with a long list of errors.
Have you experienced the same problem?
This comes from my computer or iMovie?
    Thank you for your help

    Your're welcome,
Each system takes indeed it's own learning-curve.
iMovie 10 is a totally new ball-game, (even for longtime Apple users ).
You have the "luck" to step in into a brand new redesigned iMovie, which has great potential, but needs to grow also.
Personally I don't get the concept of the Teather (which is new to iMovie 10) and the use of of it with the very limited iCloud (for this purpose), You are better of with Vimeo or Youtube, or share your project as a file or to iTunes for your home-usage.
I am not using the Theater-function as it doesn't suit my purposes at all.
All in all I love the latest version though.
    Have fun

  • Troubleshooting Ipad Imovie export problem

I made a short music video in Imovie and it won't export at all. I have done a few other projects without any issues. When I try to export it to camera or youtube it just sticks on "export" and won't progress. No error message is given. There was a recent Imovie app update, and this is the only project I have done. However, I tried to save an older project, that was not as video intensive, and it exported just fine. The project is only about 3 minutes long. All of the video was downloaded as mp4s from videoblocks.com.

  • Low quality in iMovie Export

iMovie is a great program. Unfortunately the export quality is not very good. I have tried several codecs (Apple Intermediate Codec, H.264, ++), but the result is drastic quality reduction. Very visible in dark areas and peoples faces were the no. of colors are too low. Filesize is reduced too.
The imported file (from Sony Handycam HD (CX550)) is an apple intermediate codec and the quality is great.
When exporting from iMovie useing Apple Intermediate Codec the quality setting is "medium" with no option to change this.
I also use Final Cut Express which gives much better export quality. But the program is not as intuitive and easy to use so I prefer iMovie.
The solution is to edit the movie in iMovie, export the project to Final Cut (by XML) and export QuickTime movie. With XML export all fancy transmissions are lost, but the picture quality is great. The final movie file is 3-4 times larger.
Anyone with similar experience or a solution?

I have exactly the same issues
'Very visible in dark areas and peoples faces where the no. of colors are too low. Filesize is reduced too.'
In light you won't notice but the dark is just terrible.
Important: It has not to do with interlace. Interlacing is not the problem. It's the dark areas en people faces!
I thought I found the solution.
    Wat I did was:
    - Export as Quictime Apple Intermediate Codec
    - > If I use the Dimensions 'HD 1920 x 1080 16:9" it was terrible
If I use the Dimension '1920 x 1080 HD' it was perfect.
(Also I set the compressor to 'other' and 'interlaced' and 'top field first')
But the strange thing is: When I do it on a small piece of footage. It works perfect. When I do it on a longer project: the footage is crappy again.
I worked a week on different home video stuff and it's not fun to see this decrease of quality.
I didn't missed a toppic where someone found the solution?
I will keep you informed about my investigations...

  • IMovie exports only sound to camera

    Good evening everybody!
In the past I successfully exported projects to my camera.
For the first time I got this problem: iMovie exports the sound, but freezes the first frame of the movie and leaves it at that.
I tried it in two ways: by "send to camera" and by "show video on camera monitor" and simply pushing the "record" button of the camera.
When I loaded a different movie and did exactly the same thing, all went well.
Back to my new film: the same again.
What's different with my new film?
Has anybody got an idea? I'd appreciate any help!
Greetings from the middle of Germany
    Torsten
    G 5   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

    Hello Sir Torsten,
Glad you got it to work. I really think that Apple never intended for us to make long complex movies...I think they though iMovie would be a fun app to make short little entertaining movies so they didn't carefully investigate all the nuances before releasing it.
For the most part, iMovie has worked great for most people. Just reading these discussions you can get some idea of the various projects that are being created and it is really remarkable from such a simple program. And, the other fantastic thing to remember is that so many of the problems we encounter DO have solutions or work-arounds!
BTW, it is now cooler and wetter here, too

  • Ideal iMovie export settings for iPhone?

What is the proper setting for iMovie exports to the iPhone?
Obviously 480x320 is the desired target resolution, but I tried using "Quicktime" and encoding in h.264, but the video is not viewable on the iPhone. Alternatively, in selecting MPEG4, oddly h.264 was greyed out as not an option.
Anyone? I know the "iPod" settings work, but that is not the ideal iPhone screen resolution.
    blakespot

I had the same problem getting iMovies over to my AppleTV and found a solution that works for iPhone too.
In iMovie click: Share>Share...>Quicktime (at top of box)>Expert Settings (under Compress Movie For)>Share (button at bottom of box)>Movie to iPhone (on Export: pick list). Click Save at the bottom of the dialog and you're off!
I used this to convert several of the movies I had on my AppleTV and put them on my iPhone.

  • New iMovie '08 problems -- FireWire or new device issues?

Not sure if this is an iMovie '08 problem or an OS X problem. Here's the story --
Prior camcorder was a Panasonic, MiniDV format. Hooks up nicely with iMovie, via FireWire (400). I also have a WD My Book (500 GB) device to store the raw data (Event Library), which connects via FireWire (800). In the past, all three devices (Panasonic, My Book and MacBook Pro) all played nicely together.
Fast forward to now. Bought a new camcorder (problems with the Panasonic). It's a Canon ZR950 (MiniDV). With iMovie running, I first connect the WD device which is successfully mounted. I then hookup the new Canon and within a few seconds I get an error about a "device not cleanly shut down" (or words to that effect). Odd .... and when I try to connect to my new camcorder, I get a "no camera connected" error.
Rebooted, retried .... same issues. Another time I first connected the Canon and this time, iMovie successfully sees it. I go to connect the My Book and then the camcorder drops out.
So, it seems I can have only one FireWire device connected at a time, which is odd since I didn't have this issue with the old Panasonic.
    Help!

Interesting that you based your purchase on CR magazine because I too use it like a bible. However, when it comes to video cameras, I think they are way off base when not considering the editing side of video making that goes along with any camcorder. Who shoots video simply to plug it into a TV for playback?? If they were doing responsible reporting on this particular subject, they would also include computer capture and editing details in the reviews. Lots of the new format cams don't even work with Macs and the ones that do generally give lesser quality after conversion than what you can still get with tape. At least you made the right decision there!

  • CS4 Audio Export Problem

    Hi
I'm fairly new to CS4 and have picked up an audio export problem, more than likely with a setting of sorts. For some reason when I export to MPEG2 -DVD via the Media Encoder, the video portion is fine as well as any audio that has been placed and edited on tracks audio 1 and 2 in PP. However, if there is additional audio placed on tracks 3 or 4 for example (say a music MP3 overlay) then this does not come out ... only audio placed on tracks 1 and 2 in PP come out. I have checked the obvious like making sure the tracks aren't muted etc but to no avail. Also tried changing from PCM audio to MPEG ... Stereo to 5.1 mixdown ... nothing doing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks and regards

Thanks Harm ... got SnagIt and with a few helpful YouTube tutorials ... am in business. Hunt and John, also thanks ... the other method equally as good. Now, I have attempted to attach my screen shot which should display my CS4 timeline and associated audio monitor windows above. By the way, this was for a wedding and as indicated, you will notice an MP3 lying in audio track 3 which as mentioned is my problem as it is not audible after render via Media Encoder. But remember, the moment I slip this MP3 up into audio track 1 or 2 above ... problem solved. I know there must be something small like a setting gone wrong or incorrect. As mentioned, any help would greatly appreciated.
    Thanks to you all.

  • Export Problem in LR 3.5

    Hi folks,
I have been working with LR 2.7 for a while now and was happy with it.
    PC - Win XP - LR3.5
Photo's stored on external hard disk (K:)
The RAW captures of a Nikon 3100 I recently won were not being recognized/imported by LR 2.7 and I installed the 3.5 version to see if it was any better. I would have to buy it anyway by the time I switch to Win7. In 3.5 the Raw files were imported, the settings of 2.7 were nicely taken over but now and I cannot export the files I have worked on to the K: drive of the external hard drive as I used to do with 2.7.
I get the message 'The folder could not be found' though it is set in the Export Window and I am looking at it in Win Explorer.
The original RAW captures are on the D: drive but that was always the case with 2.7 as well... I am doing it exactly as I used to with 2.7.
I tried with a photo from an older folder of my usual camera and everything works fine there.
The problem seems to be only with the Nikon files. Now I start wondering if there is something with raw format of this Nikon camera that is putting LR in a twist...
Anybody any ideas to help me out?
    Thanks and grts
    Nil

    @ web-weaver:
Of course they go to a different folder and they also get different
titels/names once processed in LR. The originals are always RAW (NEF) and I
export them as jpg or tiff files depending on what more I will do to them.
    @ ssprengel:
I get the message when I have renamed the file in the export window, set
the folder it has to go to and hit export.
In the 2.7 version I got it already when I tried to import.
As I said, this only happens with the Nikon (NEF) RAW files. With the
Olympus (ORF) RAW files I have no problem at all and had no problem in LR
    2.7 either.
I cannot see anything wrong in the Export panel nor in Preferences.
Plug in is Metadata Wrangler and has been updated to the latest version >
    no joy...
I tried import/export with jpg files and no problem there.
Yesss! Got it! What I had overlooked was a question mark next to the folder
in Library (sooo small). A rightclick and telling LR where it was solved
the problem. Strange, though, as it has never done this before... the main
folder and the path are still the same as the ones that work perfectly with
Olympus exports... just a different subfolder named Nikon and another named
Test... Also strange that if I started off with jpg, it was no problem
    either...
Anyway, thanks a lot for shaking my senses for me

  • How to fix iMovie 08 problems under 10.5.3

iMovie problems under Mac OS X 10.5.3 linked to color system
After updating to Mac OS X 10.5.3, users may have problems with launching iMovie. For most, iMovie refuses to opens, and the usual fix of removing the iMovie preferences, caches, and other iMovie settings files, and then relaunching the program does not appear to help. One user reinstalled the program with no luck resolving the problem:
"I have the same problem. I've tried to reinstall the imovie, but it still does not work. I have imported a lot of video in iMovie. Please help!!! "
For other users, while iMovie would start, they could not open any projects or use the program.
One user, while not initially affected by this problem, found that after changing the color calibration of his Apple Cinema display iMovie suddenly wouldnt open just as described by others; however, upon reverting to a previous color profile iMovie became functional again. This indicates the problem lies somewhere in computer's color system configuration; and changing color settings seems to have fixed the problem for all affected users.
    Fixes
Change the screen colors Go to the "Displays" system preferences and change the color output of the screen (either from thousands to millions, or vice versa) and relaunch iMovie. Somehow changing the display color depth modifies the color system so iMovie properly loads.
Calibrate the display While for some users calibrating the display resulted in the iMovie error, for others the problem was fixed by re-calibrating the display. Calibrating the display can be an involved process, but it is recommended to ensure your screen outputs the most accurate colors as possible. This option is available in the "Displays" system preferences under the "Color" tab.
    More:
Correcting the problem by changing profiles suggests a permissions problem which repairing permissions won't fix. Use the terminal command
    ls -al /Library/ColorSync/Profiles
Compare the permissions on the working and non-working profiles. If they are different, correct the non-working instance.
Everyone should read MacFixit Every Day

Another fix for iMovie launch problems We previously reported that, after updating to Mac OS X 10.5.3, users may have problems with launching iMovie. For most, iMovie refuses to opens, and the usual fix of removing the iMovie preferences, caches, and other iMovie settings files, and then relaunching the program does not appear to help. One user reinstalled the program with no luck resolving the problem.
We noted a few fixes for the issue, including changing scren colors and calibrating the display. Now some users have reported that temporarily adjusting screen resolution can allow iMovie to properly launch. The resolution can be changed back to normal after the update.
"Neither suggested trick worked for me. However I temporarily changed the resolution to 1024x768 and then launched imovie. I then went back to my native resolution of 1280x800 (white ibook) and now imovie always launches. Thanks for the tips"

Hello MacHeads: I downloaded Handbrake 0.9.1 for Tiger, so I can upload a homemade DVD for editing in imovie.  Problem is I can't even access Handbrake Help book, because I think my firewall settings are preventing me.  I tried turning off all my firewall settings.?  IDK if I'm even doing that right.  Can anyone help out here?

You don't need Handbrake for that if it is your own DVD.
You need to convert the VOB files in the TS-Folder of the DVD back to DV which iMovie is designed to handle.
a DVD is in a compresed format called mpeg2, which is standard across all DVDs. This is what is known as a 'final delivery format' and is not suitable for editing. Because is is compressed, a 4.7GB DVD can hold a two hour movie (dual layer DVDs twice that), whereas the DV stream from a video camera, which runs at about 13GB per hour, is not compressed and IS intended for editing.
In other words you have to 'reverse engineer' the DVD back to an uncompressed format in ordfer to edit it. There is a penalty for doing this in terms of slight quality loss, but it is one you can live with.
When you have your DVD as an icon on your desktop, double-click it, and it will open to reveal a TS-Folder containing a number of various files, some called VOB. These are the constituent parts of any video DVD.
When you have downloaded and installed mpegStreamclip, and purchased and installed the Apple mpeg2 plugin, open mpegStreamclip and drag the entire TS Folder into its window. Then using the various menus available to you (just explore them and you will get the hang of it) ask it to convert to DV.
That DV file, which will be many times larger than the original TS Folder, and which can a while to create (be patient - make coffee or prune the roses!) is what you can now import into iMovie for editing etc.
When you have finished doing that, you then have to turn the project back into a DVD.
mpegStreamclip can be downloaded from here:
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/video/mpegstreamclip.html
which is free, but you must also have the  Apple mpeg2 plugin :
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/mpeg2/
    which is a mere $20.
Another possibility is to use DVDxDV:
    http://www.dvdxdv.com/NewFolderLookSite/Products/DVDxDV.overview.htm
    which costs $25.
For the benefit of others who may read this thread:
Obviously the foregoing only applies to DVDs you have made yourself, or other home-made DVDs that have been given to you. It will NOT work on copy-protected commercial DVDs, which in any case would be illegal.
