Impact with hierarchy change

Hi all,
What kind of impact will the system have if we have to add a new level to existing hierarchy. what are the key points one has to keep in mind while changing the hierarchy.

Impact wont be much, from the tachnical standpoint.
However, if you have authorization based on hier nodes, you need to readjusst them in PFCG and maintian values for the nodes for the users. More detailed the authorization is , slower will be the query runtime.
Other than that, you need to educate the users of the change and what to expect for in reports.

Problem with hierarchy change run in aggregates

Hi,
I have made changes in Cost center hierarchy (infact I have included 2 cost centers in a seperate node). After it I loaded hierarchy into BW through Process chain. Process chain uses Attribute/hierarchy change run process. Consequently Cost center hierarchy is loaded into BW successfully.
In Cost center master data, hierarchy table, i can see two new records for these added costcenters in Active status. It means hierarchy change has worked properly.
I have also read that hierarchy change run automatically reflects the changes in Aggregates, that are using Cost center info objects.
But my problem is I did not find new added cost centers in any aggregate using cost center info object. Though it should be taken care by Attribute/hierarchy change run.
Please suggest, if I make any change in source system hierarchy, then how and when it will impact aggregates ? How can I test that hierarchy change has impacted aggregates ?

Did you manage to solve your problem?
I have a similar situation where the technical ID of the hierarchy is set as default value for the hierarchy variable in the variable input screen.
I have noticed that if I un-check the option "Suppress 'Unassigned' Node" in the Hierarchy Attributes Settings in RSH1, then the default value is gone, but I would like to have it checked in order not to display the unassigned nodes for the end users.
Any help or comments on what you have done to overcome this problem would be jhighly appriciated.

Impact of hierarchy changes within rebates

Hi all
I've to manage the following business situation.
Agreements are set into the high node of a customer hierarchy.
Along the year some business partners change the hierarchy node they belong to.
The expected behavior is the following:
The turnover calculated for the first node (within the rebate) should be reversed once a BP below is transferred into another node.
How to manage that situation?

This can be done manually during rebate settlement. The rebate accrued due to a particular customer to the Highered Nodes in customer heirarchy should not be passed on to them during Rebate Settlement and the same amount is to be assigned to the new heirarchy to which it is attached.
This unfortunately requires a lot of manual work.
The reports will help you a bit. The cut-off date on which the transfer from on heirarchy to the other occurs, is important. If you can do the transfer on that day, then rebate accrual will be as desired and there will not be any problem.
If you are using rebate agreement with retrospective effect (from a back-date) then be careful with what you are trying to do.

Type2 scd hierarchy change

I am using OWB10.2. I want to find out the correct way to implement type 2 SCD with hierarchy change. Say I have an employee dimension with two levels: employee (employee id, emp_name) and deparment (depart_id and dept_name). The employee_id and depart_id are business attributes. I define a hierarchy with employee at the lowest level. If an employee changes a department, I want to preserve the employee department history, so I add two timestamp to the employee level.
OWB document says that SCD can only be defined on level attributes. Therefore, I can remove the hierarchy and define only one level with employee_id and departement_id as business attributes or I can preserve the hierarchy and add a business attribute redundant_depart_id to the employee level.
Both of these options are not attactive. What is the best way?
By the way, the depart_name is faked constant, because I am only interested in the depart_id in the department level. If I remove the depart_name attribute and the department level only have business attribute. I can pass validation on the dimension creation, but I can never pass the mapping valildation. So to fool OWB, I added a constant to depart_name column. It is bad, but I don't know what to do.

to understand how PR_CONTACT_WID is populated on the W_REVN_F, you must use Informatica (PowerCenter Designer) and view the backward link path.

need help for finding objects impacted by size change
for xxx infoobject, due to some requirements, the size to be changed from
char(4) to char(10), in the source database tables as well as adjustment
to be done in BI side.
this infoobject xxx is nav attribute of YYY as well as for WWW
infoobjects. and xxx is loaded from infopkg for www infoobject load.
now that i have to prepare an impact analysis doc for BI side.
pls help me with what all could be impacted and what to be done as a
solution to implement the size change.

Hi Swetha,
You will have to manually make the table adjustments in all the systems using SE14 trans since the changes done using SE14 cannot be collected in any TR.
How to adjust tables :
Enter the table name in SE14. For ex for any Z master data(Say ZABCD), master data table name would be /BIC/PZABCD, text table would be /BIC/TZABCD. Similarly any DSO(say ZXYZ) table name would be /BIC/AZXYZ00 etc.
Just enter the table name in SE14 trans --> Edit --> Select the radio button "Save Data" --> Click on Activate & adjust database table.
NOTE : Be very careful in using SE14 trans since there is possibility that the backend table could be deleted.
How to collect the changes in TR:
You can collect only the changes made to the IO --> When you activate, it will ask you for the TR --> Enter the correct package name & create a new TR. If it doesn't prompt you for TR, just goto Extras --> Write transport request from the IO properties Menu screen. Once these IO changes are moved successfully, then the above proceduce can be followed using SE14 trans.

Issue with Hierarchy Navigator

Hi there,
we have some problem with Hierarchy Navigator (EP 3.6).
We installed and configured Hierarchy Navigator (EP 3.6) as explained in Oracle documentation.
We created a Trade Spec "A" > We run Hierarchy Nav > System shows us one only row with the Trade >> OK
We linked a Material Output "B" (External Product) and its context in Related Specs Tab > We run Hierarchy Nav > System shows us:
     1 - The message “This hierarchy has recently changed. An accurate hierarchy should be available in approximately 1 minute(s).”
     2 - Trade “A” and the linked Material “B”
     3 - Formulation does not appear
After 1 minutes System shows us the message: “An accurate hierarchy is now available, Refresh to see the latest hierarchy.”
We click on Refresh button > System shows us:
     1 - The Trade “A” only again
     2 - Neither Material nor Formulation appear
Do we missing something?

Sounds like two different situations.   Here are some tips:
1. Context has to be selected with the material associated to the trade for the formulation to appear in the hierarchy navigator.
2. In your last example, it sounds like a change was made to the hierarchy. Any change to the hierarchy will cause that message. For example, if you changed a packaging spec or selected context. The system will only show one level of the hierarchy while it's being updated.   I would need more information to know of you found a bug but it is possible. Seems like the material should have appeared though.

Impact of Hardware Change on SSO tickets

Hi Experts,
We are carrying out a hardware refresh of our production EP database server. Hardware refresh involves changing the server on which the EP database & application servers are residing with no change in the Hostname and IP addresses for the EP servers.
We use SSO tickets to connect our EP system to our ECC6 system for accessing ESS/MSS functionality & are doing an impact analysis before the hardware refresh & would like to check if there can be any impact to the single sign on setup between our EP & ECC6 system.

Problems with hierarchy of materials

Hi experts,
I have a problem. I am loading the model of sales from the Business Content, I loaded the cube 0SD_C03 very good, with the Infosources: 2LIS_01_S260, 2LIS_01_S261, 2LIS_01_S262 and 2LIS_01_S262. This I could do it without problems. Then I began to load the master data of infoobjets and them I could even load well, the hierarchy of the materials (I believe that all the masterful data). Now in the BEx, when I want to execute one query that it contains the hierarchy of materials, the BEX shows error messages to me that say: "Hierarchy 200 00000000 is not available for Material InfoObject 0". I reviewed the hierarchy of materials and in the Infopackage has a green state. Infosource that I used is 0MATERIAL_LPRH_HIER and 0MATERIAL_LKLS_HIER. I need urgent aid

Did you run the attribute hierarchy change run? In RSA1 > Tools > Apply Hierarchy/ Attribute Change. Then Re log into BEx and try again.

I want to understand that How to make Attribute Change run alignment & Hierarchy changes in Aggregate?
I posted previously the same question but there were not good answers and i was not able to understand clearly .....
If there is Process chain XXY which makes Attribute change run for Master Data 0SPELLING ?
Now there is Aggregate TRT which includes :
0SPELLING , Fiscal Period , Purchase Product, Purchase Category ?
Now pls answer following question ?
1) Does the Process Chain XXY which makes only attribute change run alignment for 0SPELLING , Will this process chain automatically do the Change run alignment for 0SPELLING in Aggregate TRT ? YES or NO
2) If Yes, then we are just suppose to do Roll up for Aggregate TRT after Process chian XXY completes and finish job ?
3) If No, then what steps are suppose to be DONE so as to make sure that Aggregate TRT has new values and perfect values for 0SPELLING ?
Please answer and coorect if i have any wrong question....

If u do attribute change run then this modified version is activated to A i.e. active version .
It will also do the change run alignment for Aggregate for new attribute values and new hierarchy values for aggregate.
now in order for this data to be available for reporting u will need to do the roll up of aggregate.....
if u roll up aggregate before attribute change run , new data is not avaialable for reporting
if u roll up aggregate after attribute change run, then data is available for reporting
if u dont roll up aggregate eventhough new data is in dataprovider, still new data will not be available for reporting.

That is what templates are for. You set the way you like them for whatever purpose, then open the one you want and it looks just like you left it.
In Pages '09 you can Import styles from another Pages or Word document and have it override the existing styles if you want, but Apple threw all that out in Pages 5.

Aggregates with Attribute Change Run and Master data

Hi !
I created Aggregate which includes Master Data such as Customer , Customer Number , Material , Material Number.....
It also contains navigational attribute and hierarchy...
Now we all know that if Master data and Hierarchy changes frequently(or some new values are added or new attributes are added etc.) we want to see the respective change in Aggregates too
So just Rolling up aggregate will not help.
We need to apply Attribute Change run for this purpose, to aggregates..
Now the question is HOW TO APPLY ATTRIBUTE CHANGE RUN to aggregates?
How to automate this process with Process chains..?
If i create Aggregate on Master Data CUSTOMER NO., DOES IT AUTOMATICALLY INCLUDE THAT AGGREGATE IN ATTRIBUTE CHANGE RUN FOR THAT CUSTOMER NO. PROCESS CHAINS ? Yes or No..........
(What i mean to say is if there is Attribute Change Run for Customer No. and if this is in Process chains specially created for Customer Number , than as aggregates are created on Customer No., does i t automatically applies and make changes to Aggregate too, or do we hvae to create special process chian for it ?)

Can not see the option Execution with Data Change in the infoprovider?

i am using query designer 3.x, when i go into my bex brodcaster settings and schedule my report
i can not see the option "Execution with Data Change in the infoprovider",
i can only see 2 options
Direct scheduling in background process
create new scheduling
periodic,
is there any setting which i would be able to see the option "Execution with Data Change in the infoprovider"?

Problem with iChat changing my custom away message after 30 minutes

Lately, I've been having a big problem with iChat changing any custom away message that I put up to "Away" after 30 minutes or so. Is there anything I can do to make it stop? Another issue I'm having is that sometimes when people on my buddy list change their away message, it doesn't show up on iChat unless I go offline and then sign back on. Any idea why it's doing that, and what I can do to get it to stop?

Does it say you are set to Go to Away when you log off/QUit iChat ?
is the computer going to Sleep at this point ?

Issue with PO change output - Service line items

Hi All,
This is issue with PO change output. We have PO with line item 10, 20 and item 10 has 4 service line items. PO is approved and initial print out is taken.
Some one goes and makes changes to 1st service line items of PO line item 10.
A change output gets triggered. When this output is printed, it prints line item 10 details. This is standard functionality as this item is changed. But its printing all the service line items for this PO line item. Consider a case where there are 3000 service lines for a PO item. If I add 1 service item to this PO line item, the change form prints 3001 services for that line item. There were no changes done to first 3000 service line items.
Currently PO change form takes care of changes at PO line item but it does not take care of changes at service line item level.
Is there any setting that needs to be done for this so that it only considers the changes at Service line item level also.

If you're using a standard form, send a message to SAP. Otherwise make a change in the form.
