Implementation of physical inventory

hi,
tell me the detail steps while implementing physical inventory newly for a company ( with t codes)

Dear,
Please efer the link /people/community.user/blog/2007/05/04/physical-inventory-in-material-management
First you can use the trn. MI01 there put all the material save, then use T-Code MI04 there you have to enter the count the if you want put 0, put it and make the tick then save then use MI22 post the difference.
About Physical  inventory process you have another way :
1. Use t-code MI31 instead of using MI01 , it will give you a document number of all your stock.
2. If you did not get the document number use t-code MI24 .
3. MI21 to print  the document.
4. MI04 to enter the count if you want put 0.
5. MI07 post.
Create PI document using MI01 (MI31 -Using Batch)
Enter Count Using MI04 (Select Zero Stock Indicator)
Post Count results using MI07
Check Results using MI24
Upload initial Stock using MB1C 561
Reward if helpful

  • Different sequence between original physical inventory doc & the one on RF

    Hi,
We've implemented warehouse management with RF, the problem is,
    1) I created one physical inventory docuemtn via tcode LX26,
there're 3 lines in the physical inventory docuement, and the
      sequence is:
        item 10, material A
         item 20 material  B
        item 30, material C
    2) But when I perform stocktaking count via tcode LM50, the system show me the physical inventory doc with the following
    sequence:
        item 20, material B
        item 10 material  A
        item 30, material C
The problem is, I didn't set any sort profile for the inventory counting, and there's no place for me to do such kind of settings,
    so what's the reason?
    Kindly please advise.
    Regards

This recount procedure is of no use for you, or did you really have no movement during the last 2 periods?
Just delete the document and create a new document and count again. Take it as a learning session, you will never forget to post the difference again.

  • Movement types and physical inventory posting

    HI Expert,
All inventory differences are currently booked using SAP-movement types (MVT) 291 and 292.
Inventory differences have to be booked via the correct movement types in order to increase transparency to better analyze real consumption vs. lost inventories
For inventory differences during a physical inventory use MVT 701/702 and for inventory differences other than after a physical inventory use MVT 711/712. Currently these movement types are blocked for use in our company. So it needs to be implemented soon.So
1.I want to know if this action can be implemented.
2.Could you tell me what's the difference between the MVT291/292 and 701/702/711/712.
    Thanks

.Could you tell me what's the difference between the MVT291/292 and 701/702/711/712.
291 na s292  are the movements type when in u can issues material to any of the account assignment manually like cost center , project wbs, network, sales order etc.
701/702 and the correct physical inventory movement type this are trigred only when u do proper physical inventor process in SAP for storage location which is not managed with warehouse management
711/712 and the correct physical inventory movement type this are trigred only when u do proper physical inventor process in SAP for storage location are managed by warehouse management.
U will have to remove the bloked movement type 701/702 to use Physical inventory process
    hope this helps

  • HU - Physical Inventory

    Hi Gurus,
I have a problem with HU inventory.
When I create a TO, the systems creates a PICKHU which is considered as a Storage Unit.
Then I empty this Storage Unit, but it stays as a Handling Unit in my system.
If for some reason I need to do a physical inventory for this handling unit (HUINV01), and when it is empty the system tells me "No handling units found with the required criteria".
However, when I do the same with material in it, it creates an inventory document.
It seems that the system cannot do a physical inventory of this HU if it is empty.
When I go to transaction HUINV06, it gives me the same message "No handling units found with the required criteria".
Does anyone has an idea on how I could do a physical inventory on this HU ?
    Best regards,
    Remi

    Hi,
When I empty the SU, in transaction HUMO, it still can see the HU with the same number as "free HU" but it is no longer a SU.
I'm doing this inventory in order to complete stock in a complex process that we are implementing.
My client needs to be able, in a box associated to an outbound delivery, to confirm with differences during asignation TO in the 2nd step of picking.
With HU, you can confirm TO with less quantities from an HU, and this quantity goes to Storage Type 999.
But when it comes to the confirmation of higher quantities, we have to do an inventory of the pickhu in order for the system to let us take more quantity than the picked one.
In my process, the client can work with different IM groups at the same time in a storage that is not dynamic (2 step picking process).
So as long as there is stock for the material in the storage bin, we're taking it from any pickhu of any of the groups we have.
But in the end of the process, if we have picked all the stock of the material of all the existing pickhu in the storage bin, when we want to do an inventory of the last pickhu in order to be able to pack the whole higher quantity, the system is failing because all the pickhus are empty and the system does not let me do an inventory.
I know it sounds a bit difficult but I cannot explain the whole entire process.
Thank you very much for your help.
    Regards,
    Remi

  • Problem in MARC Table - when count A, B, C Physical Inventory Indicator

    Hi,
We have 75000 material in MARC table of 1 Plant.
But when we saw materials with Physical Inventory CC indicator- ABCIN (A + B + C), there are approx. 63000 material's.
How it's possible??? what is the diff. of 12000 material's...
Note: - There is no D indicator material's in MARC.
    Plz help..
    Regards..

No, there is no problem. It can be done if you are sure that all entries should contain value D instead of space. But before doing this, you should probably analyse and find out a reason why it happened. Maybe there were an error in migration program (if the materials were migrated). Or probably there is some user-exit implemented for maintaining material master and it contains error. Which plant is for such materials in MARC table if there is no plant view maintained? Should these entries be in MARC table? I do not know. I am not MM consultant, just an ABAP developer. But from technical point of view, there is no risk in such update, there is a risk only from business point of view and I am not the one to judge this risk.

  • Type of Physical Inventory

    Dear All,
how many type of Physical Inventory we can do in SAP.Please explain in detials & also Steps(T-code).
    Regards
    Pavan

    Hi,
Physical Inventory Locate the document in its SAP Library structure
    Purpose
This component allows you to carry out a physical inventory of your company’s warehouse stocks for balance sheet purposes. Various procedures can be implemented for this.
    Scope of Functions
In the SAP system, a physical inventory can be carried out both for a company’s own stock and for special stocks. Inventory for a company’s stock and for special stocks (such as consignment stock at customer, external consignment stock from vendor, or returnable packaging) must be taken separately (in different physical inventory documents), however.
Note that the blocked stock returns and the stock in transfer cannot be inventoried. If these stocks are still to be counted in a physical inventory, you must transfer post these stocks to other stocks capable of inclusion in a physical inventory.
The stock in a warehouse can be divided into stock types. In the standard system, a physical inventory can be carried out for the following stock types:
    ·        Unrestricted-use stock in the warehouse
    ·        Quality inspection stock
    ·        Blocked stock
    Note
If batch status management is active, the first stock type covers both unrestricted-use stock and restricted-use stock.
Inventory of all stock types mentioned can be taken in a single transaction. For the materials to be inventoried, one item is created in the physical inventory document for every stock type.
Physical inventory takes place at storage location level. A separate physical inventory document is created for every storage location.
If a material does not exist in a storage location, this means that no goods movement has ever taken place for the material in the storage location. The material, therefore, has never had any stock in this storage location. The material does not exist at stock management level in the storage location. It is therefore not possible to carry out a physical inventory for the material in this storage location.
This is not to be confused with a material for which a goods movement has taken place and for which the stock balance is currently zero. A physical inventory must be carried out in this case, since storage location data is not deleted when the stock balance is zero.
    Physical Inventory Procedures
The SAP System supports the following physical inventory procedures:
    ·        Periodic inventory
    ·        Continuous inventory
    ·        Cycle counting
    ·        Inventory sampling
    Periodic Physical Inventory
In a periodic inventory, all stocks of the company are physically counted on the balance sheet key date. In this case, every material must be counted. During counting, the entire warehouse must be blocked for material movements.
    Continuous Physical Inventory
In the continuous physical inventory procedure, stocks are counted continuously during the entire fiscal year. In this case, it is important to ensure that every material is physically counted at least once during the year.
    Cycle Counting
Cycle counting is a method of physical inventory where inventory is counted at regular intervals within a fiscal year. These intervals (or cycles) depend on the cycle counting indicator set for the materials.
The Cycle Counting Method of Physical Inventory allows fast-moving items to be counted more frequently than slow-moving items.
    Inventory Sampling
In Structure link MM – Inventory Sampling, randomly selected stocks of the company are physically counted on the balance sheet key date. If the variances between the result of the count and the book inventory balance are small enough, it is presumed that the book inventory balances for the other stocks are correct.
Updating the Logistics Information System (LIS)
The physical inventory is connected to the Logistics Information System (LIS). When inventory differences are updated in the LIS, they are displayed both on a quantity and on a value basis. The physical inventory items are aggregated at inventory number level, plant level, storage location level, and material level. If you need more detailed information on the inventory differences in the LIS, you can access the list of inventory differences directly from the LIS and continue the analysis at item level.
    Restrictions
The posting of physical inventory differences is subject to certain time constraints:
    ·        The posting period is automatically set during counting. Therefore, the inventory difference must be posted to the same period or - if postings to the previous period are allowed - in the following period.
    ·        The fiscal year is set by specifying a planned count date when creating a physical inventory document. All subsequent postings to this document must take place in this fiscal year and/or in the first period of the following fiscal year, if postings to the previous period are allowed.

  • Physical Inventory Post difference to a diff Cost Center

    HI
I am posting a Physical inventory difference using MI07
Based on the plant i want to post to different Cost Center, is there a way that i can manually provide a cost center in MI07
presently it goes and pulls it from OKB9(default Value), My situation is i have 10 plants For each plant it needs to post to different cost based on the plant
    Thanks

    OSS note 13423 says:
No account assignment can be entered when posting inventory
    discrepancies.
    Cause and prerequisites
    This function is not implemented.
    Solution
In Customizing an account assignment can be made for every inventory
adjustment account. To do this the inventory adjustment account must
first be defined as a cost element (Transaction KA01 / KA06):
Accounting -> Controlling -> Cost centers -> Master data -> Cost element
-> Create primary / secondary. Then an account assignment can be made
for the cost element (Transaction OKB9):
    Tools -> Customizing -> Setup menu -> Accounting -> Controlling -> Cost
centers -> Actual postings -> Automatic account assignment.
If this account assignment is implemented every posting to the
particular inventory adjustment account will automatically receive the
    appropriate account assignment.

  • Select cost center for physical inventory difference posting

    Hello,
While posting physical inventory differences (transactions MI07 or MI10) the choice of cost center is not offered. A default cost center is used by the system.
Is there a way to choose the cost center for inventory difference postings? This is useful considering we have several inventories managed by several business units with different cost centers.
    Kind regards,
    Sergei Volkov

  • Tolerances for HU physical inventory differences

Tolerances customized in SPRO OMJ2 do not apply for HU physical inventory diferences generated by HUINV05 transaction.
We need to implement tolerances on HU (Handling Units) physical inventories. So thank you for any help on the subject.

LI20 is adjusting differences within WM. this has no effect to the stock value.
Only LI21 will adjust the differences  with MM, and then the difference gets a valuation.
e.g. if you have material M with 200 more KG as book inventory  in bin1 and 200 less in bin2 , then this will l equalize and you do not have any difference left, means no adjustment in MM necessary. this is what you do in LI20.
if you have 210 more in bin1 and 150 less in bin2, then after LI20 you still have 60 as difference. And this difference is then adjusted with MM using transaction LI21.

  • Item level physical inventory for warehouse in SAP IS retail

Hi, Can you pls let me know whether its possible to do item level physical inventory for warehouse  in SAP Retail, without implementing extended warehouse management. I could understand that SAP is allowing to do bin level physical inventory only in warehouse.
    Thanks,
    Rajesh

I am not working in retail, but the docu found in the initial screen clearly says it is without special stock.
however, it says as well, if you need functions that are not provided, then you shall use MI31 instead.
first I would open a call at SAP and tell them that WV31 does include consignment despite of different info in the docu.
if it is a bug, then SAP will fix it.
If it is design, then you have to use MI31, and SAP may change the docu in future releases.

  • FA Physical Inventory in 11.5.10.2 / 10g db / HP

We have a project which will implement a gui front end with an interface into the FA_INV_INTERFACE table. I have 3 questions. First, the layout of the FA_INV_INTERFACE table we have in our instance does not match the published one in the 11.5.10 Assets User guide. Was there a patch that changed the layout? Second, I inserted a row into the FA_INV_INTERFACE table for testing using an insert statement in sql developer and the row does not show up on the Inventory Entries form. How come? My last question is when I launch the Inventory Entries form after I enter the Physical Inventory header information, there is a message on the bottom 'FRM-41051 You cannot create records here'. Why not? Is there a system setting I need to flip? We have never used this functionality before.

    1) It is possible that a patch changed it or that the user guide you looked at is not the latest version. What difference do you see? I have 25 columns in 11.5.10.2 instance.
    2) Did you follow the suggestions in the user guide http://docs.oracle.com/cd/A85683_01/acrobat/115faug.pdf page 3-27
    3) Did you run Physical Inventory comparison program after loading the records? Read the 10 pages upto 3-37 to find useful hints.

  • Need help in creating a Physical Inventory Document with HUs given

    Hi Gurus,
There is a problem I am facing while doing a ALV report.
I have created the report and there is a button which i have fixed which has to create Physical Inventory Document.
    The scenario is:
I will select the records in the report based on the Vessel Bill Of Lading (VBOL) (related to Batch characteristics of a material) and then i need to pass those values to create Physical Inventory Document.
I got a functional module HUINV_DOCUMENT_CREATE which will create the document but I am not clear what are the values that I need to pass in this.
Or do anyone know how to create the Document by passing HU (Handling Units) and Plant & Storage Location?
Please help me in the same.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Physical Inventory Movement Block not Rest at Storage Location Level

    Hi,
We are facing a typical problem in our Production System and the issue is as follows:
    1. We have created a Physical Inventory Document for a material with Freeze Book Inventory and Posting Block indicators.
    2. We completed the count and entered the same with reference to the PI Document.
    3. We reconciled and posted the differences in the system.
    4. We still find that in Material Master the Physical Inventory block for material movements was not reset automatically at the Storage Location stock view.
Please help us urgently as all our Goods movements for this material are held up.
    Thanks

    Hi,
I am able to see 4 PIDs in MI22 for my material.
2 docs pertaining to the latest Annual Physical Inventory in 2010.
These documents are for the same material in the same plant but for different Storage Locations. Out of which when i see the Material Master - Storage Location view, i see that the Physical Inventory Block "X" is set for one of the Storage Locations.
The PID for the Storage Location with this Physical Inventory Block for Movements indicator, is already settled (Count done and no differences in physical and book stock in this storage location).
The problem persists and i need to remove the posting block which was not reset.
