Implementing images in LV

hey
i have seen many vi with graphical objects on it apart from those given in LV function, to control a process.
so can any one guide me how can i implement that ,where should i start from.What are the softwares.Or specify any tutorial.

It's a bit hard without knowing what you want...
Basically, you can drag any metafile (.wmf and .emf), .gif (also animated), .bmp, .png and .jpg (.jpeg) on your front panel. You can also edit control (Customize Control in edit menu), and insert any of there in a control. Best candidate for this is a boolean. For instance, valves are made like that.
If you need to draw things programatically, you can use a picture control. In this control (basically a blank canvas) you can draw lines, pictures (.bmp, .jpg, .png or raw 2d arrays), circles, text, boxes, etc. This is typically much harder, but you can make almost anything with this. With the use of events, you can make items move with mouse drags. The sky is the limit, if you have enough time. Look at NI's graphs in Controls>Graph>Controls. The Plot Indicators over there are actually picture controls where all the lines and data is drawn into.

  • I want to implement the image in my report

    Hi
    I am replicating some of the sample report  of SQL Servers in BusinessObjects XI R3.1.
    One of the SQL Sever's report is of product catalogue type that gives complete information like name, category, description along with the products image etc... for each of the products.
    I am trying to replicate the above said SQL Server report in Business objects XI R3.1. I am facing problem in bringing the image in to my BO report. The image resides in a table and its datatype is of varbinary(max). I don't know the exact matching while creating an object in the uiverse designer.
    Here is the url link [http://errorsbusinessobjectsxir3.blogspot.com/2010/10/business-objects-image-errors.html]
    Please, help me out in those above said issues.

    Insert Free standing cell in report from Templates tab.
    In that Cell place your Image URL or Point the image. Then It will show the Image where ever you want.
    Thank You!!

  • Ways to implement image resizing using plug-ins?

    Hi Photoshop developers,
    I'm a developer with a few Photoshop filter and selection plug-ins under my belt, and I have a good understanding of the SDK and tools and suites it provides. My next project is an algorithm for enlarging/resampling images to different pixel dimensions. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for or experience with the best combination of plug-in types to implement this.
    Clearly, I can't just write it as a filter plug-in, since there is no way to change the image dimensions from within a filter.
    I'd like the resized image to remain within Photoshop (as a new window or in the original one), so an export plug-in on its own is not sufficient.
    Import plug-ins seem promising, since they allow the creation of a new document of the required size. However, as best I can tell from the Photoshop 6.0 SDK documentation, import plug-ins cannot access the image data from other open documents (or even the clipboard), nor do they provide any support for channel ports and the Channel Port suite.
    My best idea at this stage is to create an export plug-in to provide the user interface and calculate the resized image, and then an import plug-in to import the resized image back into a new window. (I'm supposing a further automation plug-in would then be written to perform this export/import sequence.) The difficulty I see with this approach is how to communicate the resized image data between the two plug-ins. Since the resized image will potentially be very large, the ideal solution would be to store it in channels managed by the Channel Ports suite. However, I cannot see how the channel ports created in the export plug-in could be communicated to and used by an import plug-in. The alternative would be for the export plug-in to save the resized image to a temporary file on disk, however this seems unnecessary.
    So, my questions, specifically, are:
    a) Is it possible to create new channels using the Channel Ports suite (sPSChannelPorts->New()) in one plug-in, and have those channels persist to be used in another plug-in?
    b) If so, how would the channel ports be communicated between the plug-ins?
    c) Alternately, are there any alternative architectures available for implementing an image-resizing algorithm using the plug-in types that are available for Photoshop developers.
    Any responses would be greatly appreciated; I know this is a low-traffic forum...
    Thanks,
    Matthew.

    However, when I clicked on Share Text button, I got the error shown above. I'm believe I'm missing something small here but have no idea what it could be.

    The role of this program while mailing ends with the popping up of the email box.Any error that occurs afterwards must be due to the mail client.Which mail client are you using?You have mentioned that it saves and closes, so is there any message that is popped about it being saved?

  • Using Printable with an Image 5TH POSTING

    I am trying to print out an image with the following code:
    public class print_panel extends JPanel implements Printable{
    Image the_image;
    public print_panel(Image i){
    the_image = i;
    public int print(Graphics g, PageFormat pf, int p) throws PrinterException{
    if(p>=1) return Printable.NO_SUCH_PAGE;
    Graphics2D g2 = (Graphics2D)g;
    g2.translate(pf.getImageableX(), pf.getImageableY());
    g2.drawImage(the_image, 0, 0, null);
    paint(g2);
    return Printable.PAGE_EXISTS;
    }//end class
    All the printer does is spit out a blank sheet. I can get this to work with a swing component, such as a JButton, but somehow it will not print out an image. What more needs to be done?

    Hello
    I struggled with the same problem. In the Graphics2D Forum is a thread that solved the issue for me (http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=20&thread=160408).
    It seems that Graphis2D.drawRenderedImage(RenderedImage img,AffineTransformation at) is the trick to let the printer know...
    Hint: BufferedImage is a implementation of RenderedImage.

  • Is it possible to take images, videos, send messages or make a call in iphone,through voice command. when it is off mode?

    Hi Everyone
    In one of my coming project, we need to implement taking images, videos, sending SMS and make a call through voice commands in iphone, especially when Iphone is Off mode.I'm new to IOS development. I don't have clear about this concept,If any have any resource related to this topic. Please share there ideas or thoughts.

    What do you mean by "Off mode"? Do you mean the phone is turned "off"? If so, you can't do anything with any iPhone, other than look at it, if it's turned off. Off on an iPhone is off...nothing works.

  • Help needed to enhance Image Processor Pro Script to save transparency in TIF

    Hi everyone,
    this is my first post in this community.
    We have a droplet which reduces the resolution of tif images to 72dpi and save the tif image with transparency. This works fine, but it took to long for the whole process of many picture in different folders. That's the reason why we searched for another script which can preserve the folder structure and set the resolution of every tif image to 72dpi.
    We found Image Processor Pro, which does exactly what we needed. The script works perfectly in CS5 and CS5.5 as it saves the tif with the transparency. Those saved tif images could be used in InDesign with the transparency.
    BUT Image Processor Pro script works not so perfectly in CS6 as it seems that this option to save a tif with transparency is not implemented or does not work in the script. The result is that those converted tif images are w/o transparency in InDesign. That's a huge problem for us.
    This is the point where I need your help. Neither I have experience yet with jsx-files nor with the right syntax of it.
    Is there a way for anybody of you to implement / enhance Image Processor Pro so it will save tif with transparency?
    We used the latest German Version of Image Processor Pro: 2.3.1 (link: http://www.russellbrown.com/scripts.html)
    (The German version contains only german on screen texts!)
    I am very thankful for every help you can give.
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    Possible causes:
    1) It probably has nothing to do with your image files, but you won't know until someone else tests one of them. You could create a small 50% gray TIFF file with transparency and post it, assuming you know it exhibits the issue with IPP.
    2) At the download link you provided:
    http://www.russellbrown.com/scripts.html
    There are two installers for Image Processor (CS5 and CS6). Did you download and install the CS6 Version Installer?
    3) Another possible solution other than modifying the script is to reset the PS Preferences file. When strange things happen in PS with no explanation this usually fixes them. My PS CS6 was inflating  all new files by 1.4MB. After examining one of the files it turned out PS was inserting a Costco printer profile into every new file. So don't automatically assume your PS image files are not somehow being corrupted and causing loss of transparency in IPP. Creating a new Preferences file resolved my issue:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/375776
    You may want to record your old Preferences settings prior to creating a new one, but test it first with the default settings.

  • Problem: Images won't show up in animation.

    I'm trying to get a series of images to animate in an applet. So far I haven't been able to work out what I've done wrong/altered incorrectly, because all I get on the applet is a blank light grey background. None of the pictures will show up, even though they are in the same directory.
    The images are named F0.jpg, F1.jpg etc all the way up to F10.jpg.
    Any help would be most appreciated since I can't see any part of the coding that would affect the images not showing up.
    Thanks!
    import java.awt.*;
    public class FMAni extends javax.swing.JApplet
       implements Runnable {
       Image[] picture = new Image[11];
       int totalPictures = 11;  // determines how many different images will be displayed.
       int current = 0;
       Thread runner;
       int pause = 500; // specifies the speed of the animation.
       public void init() {
         for (int i = 0; i < 11; i++) {
           String imageText = null;
           imageText = getParameter("F" +i+ ".jpg");
           if (imageText != null) {
             totalPictures++;
             picture[i] = getImage(getCodeBase(), "F0.jpg");
           } else
             break;
         String pauseText = null;
         pauseText = getParameter("pause");
         if (pauseText != null) {
           pause = Integer.parseInt(pauseText);  // converts the text into an integer.
       public void paint(Graphics screen) {
         super.paint(screen);
         Graphics2D screen2D = (Graphics2D) screen;
         if (picture[current] != null)
           screen2D.drawImage(picture[current], 0, 0, this);
       public void start() {
         if (runner == null) {
           runner = new Thread(this);
           runner.start();
       public void run() {
         Thread thisThread = Thread.currentThread();
         while (runner == thisThread) {  // causes following to loop until something causes the two thread objects to have different values.
           repaint();
           current++;
           if (current >= totalPictures)
             current = 0;
           try {
             Thread.sleep(pause); // determines how long each image is displayed until the next image is shown.
           } catch (InterruptedException e) { }
       public void stop() {
         if (runner != null) {
           runner = null;
    }

    I think so. Why not have a look and be sure? Simply print the references.
    The images are all in the same folder as
    the java files. I've tried tweaking that part
    slightly to see if any slight alteration might make a
    difference, but so far I've found nothing works.That only means that you didn't get it correct in other attempts. You can't conclude that it's correct from that...
    Then again, I'm not all that experienced with java.
    So I could be screwing up royally and not really
    knowing it.Haven't touched Applets for a long time, but since you ask here rather than at the Swing forum, I have three guesses:
    1) Image file can't be read by Java. But I think it can handle jpgs.
    2) Image file not found.
    3) Image file found but not yet loaded. Try using ImageIcon instead in that case. it blocks until the image is available.

  • Why is the  image not scrolling in applet ?

    Hello,
    I am using drawImage to draw the image on screen and everytime i am increasing the X values but still the image just remains there only. It doesn't scroll. How can i solve this?
    import java.applet.Applet;
    import java.awt.*;
    public class ImageScroller extends Applet implements Runnable{
         Image image;
         Thread t;
         int height,width;
         int x;
         public void init(){
              image = getImage(getCodeBase(),"3.jpg");
              x = 50;
              t = new Thread(this);
              t.start();
         public void run(){
              Graphics g = getGraphics();
              while(true){
                   try{
                        x+=50;
                        g.clearRect(0,0,800,600);
                        g.drawImage(image,x,x,this);
                        if(x>width)
                             x=0;
                        Thread.sleep(10);
                   catch(InterruptedException ex){}
    }

    I think what you want is something like this:
    import java.applet.Applet;
    import java.awt.*;
    public class ImageScroller extends Applet implements Runnable{
         Image image;
         Thread t;
         int height,width; // These arent used anywhere...
         int x;
         public void init(){
              image = getImage(getCodeBase(),"3.jpg");
              x = 50;
              t = new Thread(this);
              t.start();
         public void run(){
              while(true){
                   repaint();
                   try {
                        Thread.sleep(10);
                   catch(InterruptedException ex) {}
         public void paint(Graphics g)
              x+=50;
              g.clearRect(0,0,800,600);
              g.drawImage(image,x,x,this);
              if(x>width)
                   x=0;
    }

  • Custom Icon Images for Folders in KM

    Hello Everyody,
                   I have to display folders such as Pesonal Documents, Public documents, Recently used, Favourites etc which are there in the entry point repository in KM. Right now all these folders are being displayed with the default icon image specified. I want to replace these default images with custom images but couldnt see any property where i can change the image path for these folders. I checked the details of all these folders and even went through the properties but there it shows only the default image name speciefied for that folder and no active settings where i can change the image path for custom icon. Kindly suggest how to implement custom image for KM folder icons.
    Thanking you all in advance,
    Regards,
    Sarabjeet.

    Hi,
    If I understood, you have a KM navigation iview, where some folders apperar. You want to change the icon for each of them differently.
    For this do the following:
    First have a look into the KM.navigation iview and get the layout set property. Go to System config->KM->Content management->User interface->Settings->LayoutSet and find the layout set you are using. Go to appropriate resource renderer and check the "<b>Icon setting</b>". Change it to: <b>iconreplace</b>.
    Now get the KM details for your folders and change the <b>IconSource</b> property to your image Example:
    /etc/public/mimes/images/add.gif
    Voila...the icons for these folders are changed!
    Hope this is your case.

    Regards,
            Sreelash

    Hi Ross, the image loading problem is not solved yet. The client needs to solve it at any cost. He is saying that the problem might be with the effeciency of code. So my PM is asking to modify the code.Youc can view the image scroller in this specified site: http://test.nysaenet.org/NYSAENET/NYSAENET/Home/
    I am attaching the class that is using for loading images. In this class, after loading the images, some masking effects are given. I think you can understand about after viewing the image scroller and the class. Hope you ll reply as soon as possible. I am wasting more than one week for this purpose. I am not getting any idea.

  • How can I modify this code to display an image in an applet?

    Sorry, I'm almost positive this is absolutely incorrect, but here is what I have so far:
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import java.awt.image.*;
    import java.io.*;
    import javax.imageio.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class Blackberry extends JApplet implements ActionListener
         Image image;
        public void init()
            //image = getImage(getDocumentBase(), "bluespace.png");
            try { image = ImageIO.read(new File("bluespace.png")); }
              catch (IOException e) { }
        public void paint(Graphics g)
            g.drawImage(image, 0, 0, this);
    }There are no errors given when run as an applet in Eclipse, it just displays a blank window.

    Here's a small example of a JPanel that draws an image:
    import java.awt.Dimension;
    import java.awt.Graphics;
    import java.awt.Image;
    import javax.swing.JPanel;
    public class ShowImageJPanel extends JPanel
      private Image image;
      public ShowImageJPanel(Image image)
        this.image = image;
        Dimension size = new Dimension(
            image.getWidth(this),
            image.getHeight(this));
        setPreferredSize(size);
      @Override
      protected void paintComponent(Graphics g)
        super.paintComponent(g);
        if (image != null)
          g.drawImage(image, 0, 0, this);
    }and a JApplet that adds this JPanel into its contentPane:
    import java.awt.Image;
    import java.io.IOException;
    import javax.imageio.ImageIO;
    import javax.swing.JApplet;
    public class ShowImageApplet extends JApplet
      private static final String IMAGE_PATH = "images/SunSteinSmall.png";
      public void init()
        try
          javax.swing.SwingUtilities.invokeAndWait(new Runnable()
            public void run()
              createGUI();
        catch (Exception e)
          System.err.println("createGUI didn't successfully complete");
      private void createGUI()
        try
          Image image = ImageIO.read(getClass().getResourceAsStream(IMAGE_PATH));
          getContentPane().add(new ShowImageJPanel(image));
        catch (IOException e)
          e.printStackTrace();
    }Here I have a subpackage off of the applet's package called image, and it's filled with Duke images which you can download from here:
    [https://duke.dev.java.net/images/index.html]

  • Does WDA support HTML Image Maps?

    How to implement HTML image maps in Web Dynpro for ABAP?
    Is the usemap (and related area shapes) available?
    What I mean is explained by the following example:
    <body>
    <img src="trees.gif" usemap="#green" border="0">
    <map name="green">
    <area shape="polygon" coords="19,44,45,11,87,37,82,76,49,98" href="http://www.trees.com/save.html">
    <area shape="rect" coords="128,132,241,179" href="http://www.trees.com/furniture.html">
    <area shape="circle" coords="68,211,35" href="http://www.trees.com/plantations.html">
    </map>
    </body>
    Thanks

    Use IFrame UI element (if exists - hope yes) and link to it an HTML file with only your image-map.
    If the image-map change by user, you must find the way to create the HTML in a dynamic way.
    Sorry i haven't alot experience with ABAP, i did this in Java Web Dynpro but i guess you can do also with ABAP.

  • Cant write an image contained object to a file

    HI, I am trying to save Vector object to a file which contains an image as one element.But i am not able to do that can anybody tell how to write the program.
    i wrote the following program to do that task. but it's not working
    can anybody tell what changes i have to make my program to work properly
    my code as follows
    import java.util.*;
    import java.io.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    class ImageWrit implements Serializable
    Image img;
    public ImageWrit(){
    img= Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getImage("a9.bmp");
    class A{
    public static void main(String s[])
    FileOutputStream fout;
    ObjectOutputStream out ;
    Vector list = new Vector();
    list.add(new ImageWrit());
    try{
    fout = new FileOutputStream("a.txt");
    out = new ObjectOutputStream(fout);
    out.writeObject(list);
    System.out.println("object is saved");
    catch(Exception e)
    System.out.println("error");
    }

    It's easier to read your code (and help) when you use the code tags in you message...
    it's also helpfull to know why you are not able to do it, compiler error, or runtime error, or...
    third it's best to show a StackTrace in case of an Exception, like thatcatch(Exception e)
        System.out.println("error"); // this tell nothing about the Exception
        e.printStackTrace();
    }Maybe your problem is that the Image returned by ToolKit is not Serializable, you can search the internet for something like "java serializable image" for some hints... like making an ImageIcon of the image, which will be Serializable
        public ImageWrit() {
            img = new ImageIcon(Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getImage("a9.bmp"));
        }(also have a look at javax.imageio.ImageIO)

  • Displaying Image in Document Category Created through N2T6

    Hi Experts,
           I am Creating a Document Category in ISH from Tcode N2T6 i want to display the image on the Screen Created  for Document   Category.
             Please let me know how to display image in document category.
    Regards,
    Rajesh

    Hi Rajesh,
    there are a few options to integrate images into a PMD application. At the end it depends on your use case. For example an image taken by CT would be shown using an external application, the DICOM viewer. On the other hand a simple picture used for illustration purpose can be easily integrated.
    In case you want to use an external application, I would recommend to implement a button in the PMD or the application toolbar to call the viewer application.
    In case you want to embed the picture into the PMD you have to utilize a Link element. There are a few implementations shipped with the standard delivery. For details check the online help [here|http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_05/helpdata/en/4d/c7854878c86d4be10000000a42189e/frameset.htm] In paticular please check the PICTURE link element type.
    In addition you can also implement your custom link element type.
    Also I would like to share with you, that in the next delivery, Siemens will shipped a link element type for image management. It was designed to work with various image management services, but for now we have a implementation with imagic ims only.
    Hope this helps.
