Implementing Joda Time in Java Netbeans
How do i implement joda time in java netbeans. i am reporting using ireports and on run time my report is showing java util and and time for a variable say DateOfBirth for which i don want the time to be include.how do i resolve it.
Thank yu so much
I am not sure I understand your question as it's posted. But let me offer a reference- there's a book being written by this guy:
http://www.netbeans.org/community/articles/interviews/yarda-tulach.html
on designing modular APIs. He's been involved in Netbeans from the start. Writing a plugin API is non-trivial where non-trivial means, essentially, non-commoditized knowledge needed to solve what's known as a "wicked problem".
If you're asking what I think you're asking, no one is going to be able t type an answer to you in Sun's forums, but it's a good question and the right question to ask, that's for sure.
best of luck!

I've been attempting to develop test classes using the PowerMock and Mockito mock frameworks
I've developed the tests in Eclipse in windows XP (64 bit) and the tests run to completion with passes
One of the classes being tested references the joda-time-1.4.jar and this jar contains the resource org/joda/time/tz/data/ZoneInfoMap
I then attempted to migrate the development to running the unit tests in a Windows XP command prompt launched by Maven 2 (mvn)
I get test errors, but the nature of the error depends where I set my JAVA_HOME
a) if I set my JAVA_HOME to a standard Sun JDK (C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.5.0_21), then I get the resource not found error for one test only - here is an extract from the exception:
Running com.visaeu.rcs.application.cas.parser.RCSInternalTCR8HelperTest

b) if I set my JAVA_HOME to an IBM JDK (C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\SDP70\jdk), then I get NoClassDefFoundError for any test that attempts to create a mock - here is an extract from the exception:

Finally, running the tests on a unix host under the AIX OS launched with Maven 2 (mvn), I get the Resource not found: "org/joda/time/tz/data/ZoneInfoMap" error
None of these errors occur when running the tests in Eclipse, so there must be a different environment
I've not been able to track it down, so if anyone can throw any light or offer a solution, that would be much appreciated

How to implement paging in webdynpro jave based on search criteria.
Hi All,
In a requirement I need to implement paging in webdynpro java development.
I successfully did it when there is no search criteria is available i.e webdynpro fetched all data from the BO object and I did it using a "indexNO" (unique serial no from 1,2,3,4.....) field available in BO object.
But when there is search criteria available , i.e the data to be fetched from the BO based on some specific field , at that time the "indexNo" field of all data fetched based on search criteria are discrete i.e not continious. In that case how to implement the paging concept.
I am using CE version 7.1 EHP 1.
Thanks in advance
Srikanta SatapathyHi,
If you go to your VO and generate the ViewObjectImpl, in there you can create a method which will contain two parameters, 1 the attribute name and 2 the value.
Then you can follow something like explained in this post:
ADF Tutorial: How to apply bulk actions to a view object rows
The only difference is that you will need to create a method like this:
public void updateAttribute(String attribute, Integer value){
RowSetIterator iter = createRowSetIterator(null);
while (iter.hasNext()){
Row row = iter.next();
row.setAttribute(attribute, value);
Then you expose that as a client interface and then after you filter your table by your criteria you just need to execute this method passing the right parameters.

How to Implement a Time Limit Feature in an Online Test Application ?
I am creating an Online Test application. The time limit can be stored for a Test in the database.
How to implement a time limit such that when the test is started (user clicks on the Start button to go to the fragment containing the Questions) the time left is shown and the test ends (goes to home page) when the timer reaches zero.
ThanksHi,
timestamp is a date and thus cannot be used directly to determine seconds passed. So what you need to do is to build the difference between a saved time stamp and the current time.
http://docs.oracle.com/javase/1.4.2/docs/api/java/sql/Timestamp.html
So if you have two time stamps, then calling getTime() on each and building the difference gives you a value, which is millisecond. So to get this to an int value you divide it by 1000

Need to implement the timer class for 1.1
Hi
I am using JDK1.1 for integration with a STB.
The timer class is not existing for 1.1.
Where I can find an implementation code of the timer class in order
to perform a schedule task which work with JDK 1.1
Thanks
FredBefore you look for Sun's implementation of Timer in post-1.1 versions, make sure you read the licence agreement for those versions and the copyright notice on the code. There's a good chance that by using that code you will be violating one or both of those. This may be a serious issue.
Your other alternative is to read the API documentation for Timer (and TimerTask) and to write your own implementation. That shouldn't be too difficult.
I doubt that you will find people actively writing open-source extensions for Java 1.1 since Java 2 has been out for nine years now. Most likely you are on your own there. -
Retrieve OS up time using java
How to retrieve the Operating System's up time using Java.
avila wrote:
Hi,
I'm wondering if someone found a better solution than parsing a result from a OS call.
I was trying with System.nanoTime() function which seems to return the number of nanoseconds since the computer was turned on, but the Java documentation does not say much about where the nanoTime value comes from.
Any help?If I recall correctly, the docs say it's an offset from "some epoch," meaning a given implementation can use whatever it wants as time zero.
As far as I know, there's still no pure Java way to do this. -
How to implement route cipher using java?
Hi guys,,,
I really got a headache solving how to implement route cipher using java lang,,i already got the concept but i really dont get how to implement it using java actually i want to make a presentation of how route cipher works using "adobe flash" but first i will implement it using java coz flash actionscripts are closer to java lang.
Hope you could post some examples or ideas...i would really appreciate it!
thank you so much...just add an action listener (either keypressed or keytyped) to the frame that you want to record. I did this in NetBeans in about 2 seconds. I can simplify it if you need. As for loging it just write the characters to a file output stream.

Unless you just wanted to play with sockets for the experience in which case you can do as you like. If you want get better with Java networking then IMO you must get ejp's book. [http://www.amazon.com/Fundamental-Networking-Java-Esmond-Pitt/dp/1846280303]
It's more of a fix before we release it to the poor souls that will be using our software, oh how the public are blind...

System time for Java Stack and ABAP Stack of PI
HI,
We have a scenario in which we have a synchronous flow of data. In the forward flow we have used field UZEIT in an RFC Lookup to register the inbound time and in the reverse flow we have used current time function of SAP PI mapping. PI time is the local time of the server, However UZEIT is 4 hours ahead compared to PI time.
Both the Java and the Abap stack are installed on the same server.
Kindly let us know the reason for the difference in time on both the stacks.
Regards,
Milan ThakerHi,
Yes I am refering to the System->Status time in ABAP Stack. Could you please tell me where can I check the System time of JAVA stack. I got one XML file in UME which refers to some timestamp in com.sap.security.core.usermanagement but I failed to locate this field. Please let me know where can I find the Java stack time and how can that be synchronized with ABAP.
Also, is there any time zone settting in JAVA for UTC , the way we have in ABAP

Program to Set System Time in Java
Is there any way to set the system time through Java. If there is can you help me some information.
Regards,
Shivakumar ThotaHey Hey,
You could run Runtime.exec() to execute a command such as VBScipt to do it.
Other than that you may have to take a look at Java Native Interface(JNI) that will basically take control of doing anything you need.
Also, You may want to post this in "New To Java" or some other forum other than Java Web Start. You'll get more people to help ya.
Hope this helped,
