Import Control Account in Invoice by DTW

Hi All,
Currently I'm using SAP B1 B version.  In the B version, we are able to select the control account during the transaction.
In the OINV table I can see there is a field CtrlAccount, but when I use the DTW seems like I can't locate the Control account in the DTW Document Table fields.
Please advice.
Regards,
Foong Yee

Hi Jeyakanthan,
Thanks for replying me.
For 2005 B version, the accounting tab got 2 control accounts therefore I would like to select it when I import the invoice.

  • Importing Sales orders and Invoices thru DTW

    Hi every one,
I am facing a unique problem when using DTW to import sales orders and invoices through DTW.
I am using the two templates- Documents and Document Lines. But the imported Invoice or the sales order(In both cases) the dicount field in the row is taking a negetive discount value. Let me elaborate....
    1. I am taking a BP which has been alloted a Particular pricelistcode in the BP Master.( say it be Purchase price).
    2. Now In the Doc_lines Template I have put the value in the price column- (eg. Rs. 500).
    3. Now the itemcode used in the template is already having a masters and the prices are also defined in SAP B1. Say the Purchase price defined for the item is Rs.400
4.When I am importing the order/nvoice then the discount field in the row automatically takes a value of -25%, the unit price has the value Rs.400 and the Total Field shows Rs.500.
( this Implies that the price I have suggested to Import i.e. Rs500 is some how not taken by the system. The system takes the price defined for the BP and then adjusts it with the price suggested by the user during import) So a negetive discount is taken.
On the other hand if the same procedure is followed for an item where the prices are not updated in the master data then there is no such problem. the unit price field reflects the price which is given in yhe template.
please suggest a way to get out of this problem.

    Hi Debraj,
    Try the following..
In Admin > System init > Document Settings > General Tab ..Calculate the Row total using Unit price ....... leave this  unchecked
Also, at the Document_lines template fill the discount column with 0

    Dear experts,
I have to import the "Profit center" in an invoice by the DTW but I don't find the column, in the templates, where to insert this data.
    Thanks.

    Hi Paolo,
You could set the required value in the field 'CostingCode' in the lines template.

I have a strange situation in SBO2007. An A/P Invoice for Vendor X was created duplicating an A/P Invoice from Vendor B. The new Invoice was created with a differente Control Account from the assign in BP Master Data of Vendor X. • Invalid Control Account Error in DTW Import

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to Update the Existing BP Master Record with New Receivable Control Account. But while processing DTW system throws an error message says that
Invalid Control Account Type Application-defined or object-defined erroroBusiness Partners.
I am using Segmented Chart of Accounts and i have defined the account as _SYS000002300 in Template.
I have created that account as Control Account in Chart of Accounts.
I have mentioned these account in GL Determinations.
There is no customer with foreign currency
    Environment
    SAP B1 8.8 PL 12
    SQL Server 2008
    Windows 2008 Server

I have been through this and you can import these updates by using the OCRD template and only having the CardCode and DebitorAccount columns..this will allow you to update those records.  The deposit field if you need it is called DownPaymentClearAct
    Hope this helps.

  • Importing Legacy A/R and A/P Invoices using DTW

    Hi All,
I have in interesteing situation which I need some help for.
We started using SAP B1 begining of 2008. We used DTW to import the open A/P and A/R invoices from last year (legacy data). We didn't want the legacy data to have any impact on P&L, only to be able to receive and make payments for these invoices in B1. Therefore we used a service inovice without posting to the revenue and COS accounts. Since it is not possible to post directly to a control account I created a new G/L account for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable (I called them AP Migrated and AR Migrated), which is not a control account.
When preparing the DTW files, In the lines file I specfied the AccountCode as this AR and AP Migrated G/L accounts.
Since the BP to whom these invoices relate to, have the A/P and A/R control account defined in the BP master data, each of these migrated invoices posted to the AP Migrated account with the Offset Account being the original A/P Control Account.
Now that I am recording payments, the AP and AR accounts are being updated but not the AP and AR Migrated accounts. To illustrate: Let's suppose I migrated an AP invoice for $100. It posted to the AP Migrated account and the Offset Account being the AP Control Account. Now the balance on the AP Migrated Account shows $100, and the balance on the AP Control Account shows -$100. Now after I record the payment for this invoice the AP Control Account balance is $0, but the AP Migrated account still shows $100.
How can this be rectified, and  is this the correct way of doing this?
    Many thanks,
    Myran

    Hi Suda,
Once again, many thanks for your good and speedy replies.
I am only importing the AR & AP transactions which I need to process payments in the new fiscal year. I am not importing all the other PL stuff.
Am I better off using then a seperate GL account for the AP and a seperate one for AR?

  • In B1 Import of G/L history does not go to Control Account? How then?

    Hi Forum,
I have tried it myself and read through the forum to know, when we import transactions such as A/R and A/P G/L history, we can not import the renovations to the A/R or A/P Control Account.
If we make the control account, non-control, then it can not be made Control again after transactions are entered? Call these accounts that contain A/R and A/P history as 1111 and 2222.
Some customers may have many control accounts for A/R and A/p depending upon their warehouses etc.
    The question is?
Going forward all current transactions from A/R and A/P will go to a different control account say 1000 and 2000, and all old transactions related to that customer from previous months is in a different account - 1111, 2222.
How do you handle this situation? What do customers of SAP B1 do? For getting history of Business partner, other statistics etc.
    Thank you for your help.

    Hi Son Tran,
I tried tried your suggestions the best I could in my setting, but I failed again. The DTW keeps complaining about Control Account can not be used. Here are my Journal Entry import header and lines that work (that is without control account).
    OJDT Header below:
    ==================
RecordKey     AutoVAT     DueDate     ReferenceDate     StampTax     UseAutoStorno     VatDate
RecordKey     AutoVAT     DueDate     ReferenceDate     StampTax     UseAutoStorno     VatDate
    1     tNO     20080402     20080402     tNO     tNO     20080402
    Matching JDT1 Lines
    ==================
RecordKey     LineNum     AccountCode     Credit     Debit     DueDate     ControlAccount
RecordKey     LineNum     AccountCode     Credit     Debit     DueDate     Account
    1     0     12350000     180          20080402
    1     1     41100000          180     20080402
    1     2     24100000          0     20080402
    1     3     13500000          126     20080402
    1     4     51100000     126          20080402
Note: Control account column is not used at all.
In the above JDT1 Lines all account codes are non control accounts. There is only one A/R account that I want changed to control account. That is 12350000 will be changed to 12110000 (this is a control account).
When I do the change to control account, the above DTW import fails with the error - 1000415 Cannot perform transaction in controlling type account JDT1 - 1211000 error 65171.
    Look forward to your help.
I also tried many other combinations and failed.
    Thanks.

I tried to import Invoice via DTW. I filled the 'DocDate' column in the oInvoice template with '20080102'. But when I checked the invoice from the A/R Invoice module the result was 20080504. Why DTW uses my system date instead of the date I put in 'docdate'? How to import this date correctly?

  • How to change the BP-customer Control Account for entering Opening Balance

    Hi experts,
I am working on a project where I have used the segmented chart of account and segment is branch.
Project is under SAP B1 8.8 PL 05.
Customer has 2 branches. Now both the branch have different control account for debtors. Customer (BP) master is common for both the branches.
Now at the time of entering BP-Customer opening balance, I do not find the provison to select/change of control account. So all the opening balance entered will go into one control account only, which is set in business partner master for particular customer.
In SAP B1 8.8 at transaction level like Sales Invoice, there is provision to select the control account. Now I believe entering opening balance is the similar functionality as Sales Invoice and there should be provison for selection of control account to user.
Anyboady has any Idea / work around ?
Incase there is no provison then, I believe Product development team should take this in development of SAP B1 8.8.

    Hi,
I suggest you to import BP opening balance by JE template of DWT in which you just put account code as your control segmented account and additional information in "shortname" field with customer/vendor code.
    Hope this helps,
    Son.

    Invalid Control Account Type

    Hi,
Please check whether you are entering control account in the correct field.
Specifically check for BoE Control Account or any other such control account, the functionality for which is not available in your localisation.

  • Can't post JE to control account

I am trying to import my clients historical month end balances for 2008 (Jan, Feb, March etc...).  However, my imports are erroring out with the message "Cannot perform transaction in controlling type account 1210-310-00."  This is my client's A/R account.  If SAP isn't going to let me post to any control accounts how can I upload my client's historical GL balances?

You do need to split the opening balance between the actual debtors. This can also be achieved using the Opening Balances form, and keying the data for each business partner.
It will make it more difficult when receiving payments against the however, so, we generally import open documents as service based documents with the GL account for "revenue" offsetting to an Opening Balances account. This should all reconcile to nil once all the Gl Opening balances have been entered.
