Import folder looses interface's IKM option settings.

Hi All,
I created an IKM export file for the IKMs that I was using. And I created a folder export of all the interfaces that I wanted to transfer to a different fresh ODI env.
I imported the IKMs first, all worked fine. Then I imported the folder which had all the interfaces, all worked fine, but when I opened the interface and went to the flow tab and saw the options for the IKM, it had set all to the IKM default, not to what was set in the interface.
Any help, thanks in advance.

Thanks Madha for the quick reply.
I did a bit of investigation. And the problem seems a bit wide.
Actually I created a new project in the target ODI env. So it gave an internal ID as 4001.
But the internal ID that is there in the source ODI env for the project from where I want to bring the exports of the interfaces has got the internal ID 1001, so it fails even for a variable transfer since it is not able to find the project with internal Id with 1001.
Your thoughts.
Thanks

  • How do i get itunes 11 import folder option to work?

i recently installed itunes 11. i have my music files located in a a separate directory. when i try to "import folder", i select an album folder and nothing happens. am i doing something wrong or is there a fix for this? thanks in advance:)

A little more detail may help...
I assume you've enabled the iTunes menu bar and you're using the command File > Add Folder to Library... then selecting a folder that contains media. Further that this media is not already included in the library?
Did you apply the permissions fix to both your iTunes library folder and the media folder on the external drive that you are trying to import?
Can you add anything to iTunes? E.g. copy a file to the desktop and then drag & drop that on to iTunes. Or use the Automatically Add to iTunes folder.
What settings do you have under Edit > Preferences > Advanced for the media folder, and the Keep... & Copy... options?

  • Develop settings lost after re-importing folder of DNG files

I've been using LR for several months, and - after getting accustomed to its peculiararities - love the program.
This evening I re-imported a folder of DNG files that I had previously removed from LR - using the "add" import option. When going to the Develop module, I noticed that my original develop settings were no longer applied.
Aren't these settings incorporated into the DNG files? How could they get lost? Are they over-written when re-importing the files?
I always backup my catalog before closing. Does the catalog backup contain the original develop settings for these DNG files?
I know I must have done something wrong! Please advise & explain. Thanks.

Thanks. I do have autowrite to XMP checked. - I learned that lesson a few months ago!
I will see if I can use an older backup to recover the settings. I have never done that before, but I know where my catalog backups are located. If you can give some advice on that, I would appreciate it. I don't want to lose other DNG edits in the process.
Correct me if I'm wrong - but it appears that if I ever do want to remove a previously imported folder from LR for whatever reason - I should just edit the RAW files without converting to DNG. I know DNGs are more compact, but at least the sidecar files associated with the RAW files will always be there! This is more important to me than conserving disk space!
just try it on one or tow files to test. Also look at "Read Metadata from file" in the current catalog first with ine file to see if that helps. Did you have a Prest applied when importing like Zeroed?...... None is the best for importing files with dev settings already applied.
I use DNG exclusively and haven't experienced your issue so review your import settings as mentioned.

  • ITunes does not want to import folder

    Hi there.
    Vista Prof with latest iTunes.
I lost my harddrive without any backups of the songs on my iPod. I have read a couple of replies to people with the same problem. One was to import the songs via the "Add folder to library" option. Before I chose this, I have managed to copy all the songs from my iPod (as an external drive) to my PC. I have ticked the option to also copy the songs to the iTunes library when importing folders.
    Problem:
Nothing happens when I choose "Add folder to library".
Am I doing something wrong or what else can I try?
    Thanx for your help.
    Deon

I am having this EXACT same problem.
I changed computers, copied all of my files onto my iPod, put them back onto the hard drive on the new computer and they simply WILL NOT import into iTunes. I've tried drag-and-drop, I've tried import folder and I've tried import file. Import file will work, but I'm literally having to add files one-by-one. It's an utterly maddening task, and it's one that has worked without fail for me in the past, so I'm tempted to blame Vista.
I too have my settings such that they will import/copy the files into the appropriate folders.

  • Aperture Does Not Import Videos using IMPORT FOLDER AS PROJECTS

SOLVED - Aperture 3.2.1 does not import videos using "Import Folder as Project"
After 2 days of trying to figure this out (actually around 2 hours total) I've finally managed to import all my photos & videos last year. 200 Gigs 54,000 files. First few tries resulted with referenced photos only, no videos. I had no luck with Google, even tried moving a couple of .plist as mentioned from this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/message/11188017?messageID=11188017#11188017 - this worked for some but not for me. Some issues were solved by NOT selecting "Raw Only", this will cause Aperture to skip your videos.
Thank you to these people who took time to share. In return I am posting my micro contribution to the Aperture Community. FILE > SWITCH TO LIBRARY > then create a new library. You should be able to import your photos with videos in folders.
I hope this gets into Google soon. :-)

, I see only the file, where these photos are, not the photo names or thumbs inside the file (Aperture import path).
You mean in the Aperture Import panel the folder, where the jpegs should be, is empty?
Then you may have excluded jpegs from import in your "Import Settings".
Check the above settings in the "Import Settings" options in the "Import Window". I.e-make sure the Raw+Jpeg Pairs option is set to "Both", even if you do not import raws.
After reassembled all the programs to a new hard drive in Mac Pro
Is this new Harddrive your system volume? And are the jpegs you wat to import located on this drive? Or are the on another external volume? If yes, how is this volume formatted?
Have you checked the permissions and ownership of the jpegs?

  • How do I get photos from the iPhoto import folder to the iPhoto library?  It uploaded, but hung while deleting from my camera, so no imported photos are in the iPhoto library.

How do I get photos from the iPhoto import folder to the iPhoto library?  It uploaded, but hung while deleting from my camera, so no imported photos are in the iPhoto library.  I watched it upload about 400 photos, one by one.  They're somewhere, but they don't appear in the iPhoto library. As iPhoto was deleting them from my camera, it got hung up, then a message came "you should eject before disconnecting a device."  I hadn't touched the camera.  The message came by itself.  I couldn't get iPhoto to respond, so I disconnected the camera and did a Force Quit.  Opening it back up, the pictures were gone.  Can somebody help me?

What version of iPhoto are you running?  Assuming it's iPhoto 9 or later Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Gmail Important folder not showing in Thunderbird

I am using a program called MailWasher (MW) to preview all the emails of six accounts. I have just had a case where it showed an email from Gmail, but when I did a Get Mail it did not appear.
Logging directly into Gmail I found that the message had been place in the Important folder. Doing a Reply in Gmail, again I saw an entry in MW but again, a Get Mail did not show anything.
Am I missing something here? I'm not sure just what rules Gmail is using to decide whether am email is 'Important' but I don't like the idea of Thunderbird not being able to display a message just because it seems to be put somewhere other than Inbox.

It's been a long time since I used gmail in anything other than IMAP, so I'm not sure what happens under POP.
Their operating principle with email is to label it, and then display it in the appropriate view. So mails tagged as "Important" will appear when you select ''Important'', which looks like a folder. In the IMAP world, a message labelled ''Important'' will appear both in its original folder (usually the Inbox) and in the ''Important'' folder. I'm surprised that yours appears to be ''moving'' messages.
Go to the gmail webpage and in your account settings, look for settings to manage these folders. I disable all the naff pre-categorization that google wants to do for me, such as Important and Social, Promotions, etc.

  • Find photos by Folder name or Import Folder name into Metadata

In iPhoto, I can locate photos by folder name. Is this available in Aperture (Managed or Referenced)? From what I've seen, you can only search on metadata fields, none of which contain folder names.
If I cannot search on folder names, can Aperture import folder names into Metadata automatically. In other words, if I import a directory tree 2009Games, with subfolders Game-ABC, Game-DEF, etc.
Can Aperture insert the subfolder name into the photo's metadata? I know I can add the text manually, but I would like Aperture to import a top level folder like 2009Games, and add the subfolder directory name to each photo's metadata.
If that is not an option, how does someone migrate from folder organization to metadata searches without renaming every photo?

What project and folder naming structure do you intend to use in Aperture to manage your collection?
The inclusion of the file name in metadata for searching purposes seems to be redundant as you can always, if you really need to, see where a particular image is located on the hard disk by right clicking on it in Aperture and selecting "Show in Finder".

  • "Don't import duplicates" and question about the Last Import folder

*THE CLIP IMPORTING (TO IMOVIE) PROCESS*
Ever since the last time I uploaded clips and made movies with them, I have shot new footage. I never erased the clips that were in the Sanyo VPC-HD2000A.
This morning I uploaded the clips to my iMovie '11, including image stabilization. (Bypassed iPhoto '11 completely, on purpose.)
What caused me concern while the clips were uploading is that there were no prompts about +"only new clips, no duplicates"+ to be imported. There was one set of options saying "Importing checked, or Import checked," but the problem was that I saw nowhere that any of the clips in the box (I will call it the Sanyo Box) could be checked. Selected, yes, but checked, no. I tried to select all of the newly shot footage, but that was impossible. It was only possible to select one clip at a time.
I did not interrupt the file transfer because I did so once last month and it caused me problems.
I ended up with 36 files uploaded and imported.
*THE EVENT LIBRARY LAST IMPORT FOLDER*
_In the iMovie '11 Events Library, the Last Import folder contains clips that were uploaded last month to iMovie. If I am to understand the label, "Last Import" does not mean, "And also stuff from a previous import."_
I realize that having duplicates of clips can be solved by deleting clips, but I really want to know what is going on and also what ought to be going on. Shouldn't the Last Import folder contain only those clips that are in the most recent upload?
And why was there no prompt for all duplicates to be disregarded and not imported?
Did I possibly bollix up the preferences in my Sanyo VPC-HD2000A and did I accidentally tell it not to ask whether or not I want to import duplicates?
I can see that someone could say, "Make sure you delete all old clips before you shoot new footage," but that is an "of course." I need to know what happens when you keep clips in the camera and want to import only the new clips.
    -L

    No.
In LR3 it would ALWAYS pick up the duplicates if I inserted a card I'd just imported.
With no change to my workflow I'm now having instances of the same files being imported multiple times.

  • Error message in customizing Distiller's job options settings

I'm trying to customize job options settings in Distiller 8.1.0. I'm on Mac OS 10.4.9, and taking postscript files created in Quark 6.0 to Distiller to create PDFs. I have vendors who have provided settings and I want to transfer those specific customized settings from Distiller 6.0 standard to Distiller 8.1.0 professional.
If I try to customized 8.1's presets, I get the message "An error occurred trying to save the job options." Has anyone run into this error or this situation?

I ran into the same problem. If I try and save the settings file to a different location than the Settings folder (which is located under User_Home\Library\Application Support\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings\)
then it actually works. But if you try and save to the Settings folder it will not save and gives you the error. This only happens with non-administrator users. If you try with an administrator account it saves fine. I checked the folder settings for permissions and changed it to read and write for all groups and it still gives the same error (the default setting is read and write for the user). I also tried updating to 8.1.1 but it does not touch Distiller with that update. I have tried deleting the Settings folder and recreating it this does not work. What did work was a mistake on my part but it worked. I deleted the Settings folder before closing Distiller and tried saving. It saved the settings file in the original Settings folder which was in the trash! I pulled the folder out and the setting file was in it. This means there is some kind of permissions issue with Distiller and not just the OS I think. Just so you know I did do a permissions repair before I tried all of this.
The only solution right now for people who can't save to that folder is to save it to a different location and then adding the settings file to your settings folder User_Home\Library\Application Support\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings\
One other thing to note. Version 8.0.0 does not do this. It only happens after updating to 8.1.0
I did this in 10.4.9 and also 10.5.1

  • PS Import folder naming standards (whine)

Okay, this is a rant but...
Why doesn't Adobe adopt an import folder naming standards to be consistent across their programs?! I am picking on PSE since I have noticed their naming convention changes/options.
From PSE4 to 6 to 7, they changed a couple of options - to include the manner of which a date named folder is displayed.
LR2 uses "dashes" in the dates where PSE does not - why?
The dashes/no dashes mess with alphabetical folder sequencing...
Can't we just have a standard for this? Please?...whine complete...

  • Incoming msg's go to both INbox AND 'Important' folder; if I delete one from either location it deletes from both.

When receiving new msg's in Thunderbird they download into both my INBOX...AND...the 'IMPORTANT' folder (sub-folder of the 'Gmail' folder). Also: quite often (nearly always) when I check my email for new msg's, I'll find that several (not necessarily all) of my SENT mailings are also showing in the 'IMPORTANT' folder.
If I delete msg's from the IMPORTANT folder, they simultaneously delete from my INBOX...or SENT mail. As a result, I must always begin...when checking my new mail...by going to the IMPORTANT folder, selecting all the 'SENT' mails, dragging them as a group to the 'SENT mail' icon and then selecting all the NEW msg's and dragging them as a group to the 'INBOX' icon. It's a real nuisance. Thanks in advance for any corrective advise. NJR

You may want to change the setting for deleting messages so that copies aren't deleted. See the last paragraph of this article in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Using_Gmail_with_Thunderbird_and_Mozilla_Suite Labels section].

  • Use iMovie a default import folder

I use a Gopro 3 Black, I also have a iPad 2. I would like to use iMovie as my video import folder from the gopro. Is there a way to do this? thanks funnnyfarm

There is a checkbox (free translation from the german version) "use standard settings together with the serial number of the camera"
I believe you're looking at this setting:
This lets you have default develop presets for each different camera.  Unfortunately, I don't think there's the equivalent feature for import presets.
You might look at the Ottomanic Importer plugin -- I think it will let you automatically import to a folder or parent folder that contains the camera serial number.  This would let you have two different folder hierarchies, one for each camera.

Photos that were synced from a computer won't show for copying to a computer. If you want to copy them back then you will need a third-party app on your phone such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to a device, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer (e.g. their dimensions might be different and their colours may look a bit different).
