Import New Records

Hello
I have a file to import to MDM that contains both Updates to existing records and Adding of new records.
In the Match records I see that the new records are being shipped. (as there is no match to any record in MDM)
Can anyone suggest how I can handle this situation?
We need to do both update and create on import
Regards
Con

Hi Con,
As a practical scenario, your file may contain records for update as well as create action during imports process.
MDM has got a standard functionality for this as a import action which can be sent at a global level or at a record level based on the matching criteria.
The process is as below:
1. Select the source and destination
2. Do field mapping
3. Select fields for Value Matching (These fields are  used to identify duplicates)
4. Based on a match type the import action can be defined as a global action.
For individual records, you can set the action in below Record Matching window.
Hope this clarifies.

Sambhaji

Administration - Marketing -> Import, you can set a parameter value "Import mode" for what to do in case of duplication as "update existing records", "Import new records". The final report of this import is presented as a text file that can be viewed in Business Administration - Marketing -> Import -> Exceptions. Whatever the exception, including duplication import occurs during import and recorded in a text file.   What are the fields that determine the duplicity? How I can I can change those?

You will be returned anything that is in the option's value parameter. What is displayed in the dropdown and what is put in the value attribute do NOT need to be the same, so maybe you should start there.

  • Filemaker Pro Import New Records

I am trying to import only new records from a coom delimted file into my filemaker data base. Each time I import, all of the records get imported and not just the ones with new id numbers. This is a list of about 9000 records and it would be very time consuming to weed out all of the duplicates. Does anyone have a solution for this?
    Any ideas would be welcome.

  • Delete records during import new records. Filtering / matching?

During SRM MDM Catalogue import we are making use of the Import Server component.
We defined one Port to import all supplier catalogues. In the port, we enter the Import map which is to be used for all suppliers. All suppliers deliver their catalogue in a predefined and fixed format.
The functionality we want to achieve is more or less described at help.sap.com:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_srmmdm20/helpdata/en/30/96cbb9f3cd40b5bfc4cef178880e66/content.htm
At this moment we do not succeed in getting this done. The following example illustrates the issue:
    Current catalogue
    Supplier        Supplier part.no.
    1000            8000
    1000            8001
    1000            8002
    1001            8001
    1001            8001
    1001            8002
Supplier 1000 comes with a new file containing the current assortment.
    1000     8000 has not changes
    1000     8001 is changed (update)
1000     8002 no longer exist and is not part of the new file.
During record matching we have the combined matching fields Supplier and Supplier part.no.
A filter on all suppliers has the side effect that the other 4 products are deleted from the catalogue (so also 3 products from supplier 1001).
A filter on only supplier 1000 is not wanted, because we would then need an individual import map for all suppliers. The result of this would also be: as many Ports, Import Server Ready folders and Import maps as we have suppliers in the catalogue.
Wanted situation: How can we determine that entry 1000 u2013 8002 needs to be deleted? (Without help of multiple Ports, Ready folders and Import maps).
We are looking forward to be receiving your reply.

The answer is given in Patch 4.
    Note 1292931. https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1292931
After this patch dynamic filtering can be done. See copy text from note below.
For more info look at article on SDN Using Dynamic Record Filtering in MDM Import Manager.  https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/d0245870-0adf-2b10-46a8-ca9dcf8e1a4d
We have not yet implemented it but is seems to solve the problem.
    Kind Regards,
    Job Jansen
    Extract Note 1292931:
    MDM Import Manager:
Enhanced: Support for dynamic source/destination filter. Added a virtual value "[Mapped Values]" into the matching fields filter. When this value is selected, ImportManager and MDIS will substitute it with all the map values of the lookup field during record matching. This creates a generic map that supports source/destination filters that are based on map values instead of fixed values.

  • Imported Form and sub-form from another database. Sub-form not creating new records tied to parent form's data.

I have imported all objects from an old access db (.adp file) into a new db (.accdb).  All of my data lives in sql server so I have added all the tables and views to the .accdb as linked tables.  My forms all connect to data, but I am having issues
with a sub form.  The sub form does not allow for creation of children records tied to the parent record the way the old db did/does.
Correct - old format .adp file (notice the empty second record in sub-form with the defaulted date of today's date):
Incorrect - new .accdb file (notice the lack of empty second record in sub-form like above):
If I click the create new record icon in the bottom of the subform, it creates a completely blank record not tied to the parent record (fields blacked out in screen shots above).  When using this button all parent record fields are blank.
I have also verified the child table used in the sub-form has a valid Fky relationship to parent table used in the parent form.

Have you checked each forms 'Filter' property (in Design view) to make sure they are blank and that each forms 'Filter On Load' property to make sure it is set to 'No'? Also, you might try inserting the following commands in each forms On
    Open event:
    DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdRemoveAllFilters
    DoCmd.ShowAllRecords
If you can open each forms Record Source and they are showing that new records are able to be entered (the new record * is showing at the bottom of the recordset), then check each forms On Load and On Open events to make sure there is no filtering.
In addition, check any macro or VBA commands behind the button that opens the main form to make sure there is no SQL filtering in the DoCmd.OpenForm command.
If one of the forms Record Source does NOT allow new records, then you will need to change that Record Source so the new record * indicator shows.
Out of ideas at this point.

  • Creates new record in the Qualifier Table while importing.

    Hi Guys,
When sending new bank details to MDM, then MDM creates a new record in the Bank Detail qualified lookup table. This is OK. But when sending exactly same bank details again to MDM, then MDM creates again a new record in the Bank Detail qualified lookup table. I would expect that it
first performs the Automap and only if it cannot find a value, it will add a new record!
Can you guys help me out from this?
    Best Regards
    Devaraj PK

    Hi Devaraj,
Please check these configuration options of Import Manager
    1. Default Qualified Update - The default setting for whether incoming source subrecords either are appended to, completely replace,or update the set of existing qualified links of a qualified lookup field when updating existing records.
    2. Default Matching Qualifiers - The default setting for which qualifiers to use as matching qualifiers when matching existing qualified links when updating existing records.
Any operation on the qualified tables will depend on the above two options.
    Reward if found useful

So i don't know it problem by Internet Explorer or my script.
i hope someone can help me the solve this problem.
    thanks

If you restrict the selection, a record value outside of that selection is not acceptable and will give you this error. This is how BPS works.
You need to restrict on some other char so BASIC1 doesn't come in, but this value should be part of any selection on ZSEGMENT field for it to be accepted back.

  • Error in message monitoring while creating new record in R/3

    Hi All,
I am getting the following error in message monitoring while creating a new record from SAP Mobile client.
    Service name: Validation_Service
Message: BackendKeys are not filled in table HEADER returned by getDetails
I am passing some random number from Client to SAP R/3 create function module.
When i pass the same value in create FM as in message monitoring. I am able to create the record successfully,
Corresponding to newly created record, i can see the data in getdetail header also.
Not sure why this error is coming.
    Appreciate your help!!
    Thanks & Regards
    Devendra

The CREATE FM should not only create the entry, it should also EXPORT the key that it uses to create the entry. Is it doing that?
i.e. the CREATE signature is usually something like:
    CREATE_BLAH
      IMPORTING header TYPE header_row
      EXPORTING key type header_row-key_field.
So the 'key' here should be filled by the FM and returned to DOE.

  • 6.0.2.23 import new cd's - lose artwork from tracks already in library

Upgraded to 6.0.2.23 successfully and this rev fixed Outlook synching glitches, but now when I import new cd's I lose artwork from tracks that are already in my library.
All cover art has been added manually via get info-paste artwork, sometimes 1 track at a time, sometimes multiple tracks at once.
Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to which ones disappear, but everytime I rip, more are missing. Perhaps it's not the ripping causing the problem. Maybe adding the artwork to the new tracks flips some bit on other tracks from the same record label...
It's bad enough that you have to add them yourself, but losing them after all that effort is just a real nard buster.
HP m1170n   Windows XP   Media Center Edition 2005

I am also experiencing severe PC playback issues with iTunes 6.0.2.23. At the beginning of each track, for 10 or 15 seconds the CPU pins at 100% & all other applications stall - email, word processing, web browsing etc. As well, the track playing often goes silent for about five seconds.
I have disabled all services (antivirus, antispyware, popup blockers etc.) as per Apple's recommendation, with no improvement. This is a huge disappointment after 3 years of good iTunes behaviour.
I have resorted to using iTunes only for updating my iPods (I have a 3G 20GB, two Shuffles and a 60GB video iPod), and using Windows Media Player (which has an inferior GUI) for playing music while I work. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • How to insert new record in ALV GRID?

    Hi all,
I am displaying ztable data into grid format using method  SET_TABLE_FOR_FIRST_DISPLAY of Class CL_GUI_ALV_GRID using OOPS concept.now i want to insert a new record into ALV grid?
If anyone has tried then please tell me?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Arpita

    Hi Avinash,
    Thanks for replay.
My problem is solved.i did it as follows.
    HANDLE_DATA_CHANGED
          FOR EVENT DATA_CHANGED OF CL_GUI_ALV_GRID
               IMPORTING ER_DATA_CHANGED
                           E_UCOMM.
    METHOD HANDLE_DATA_CHANGED.
    LOOP AT ER_DATA_CHANGED->MT_GOOD_CELLS INTO WA_GOOD_CELLS.
    CASE WA_GOOD_CELLS-FIELDNAME.
      WHEN 'ZCARRID'.
          CALL METHOD ER_DATA_CHANGED->GET_CELL_VALUE
              EXPORTING
                I_ROW_ID = WA_GOOD_CELLS-ROW_ID
                I_FIELDNAME = WA_GOOD_CELLS-FIELDNAME
              IMPORTING
                E_VALUE = ZCARRID1.
         WA_FLI-ZCARRID = ZCARRID1.
    ENDMETHOD.
    Using method CALL METHOD ER_DATA_CHANGED->GET_CELL_VALUE,
i am reading individual values and assinning it to WA and then insert into ZTBALE.
    Thanks,

  • Can I import a recording from SHDB into a project in LSMW?

    Hi,
I'm working with LSMW, and i would like to know if it's possible to import o reuse a recording that already exists in transaction SHDB?
I tried but it seems that i should create a new recording again in the lsmw althought there exits one that was created by the shdb.
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Albio.-

    Hi,
No, it is not possible to import the recording you have done using SHDB transaction to LSMW as LSMW has its own recording facility, and we need to make use of the one available in LSMW.
    Rgds,

  • Creating new record instead of update existing one in Bank application

    HI Mate
Here is my issue and I want from ur help
Bank information iview---when i am doing "EDIT" option in that it will edit the bank details,But when i check the records in SAP HR system.it is creating extra record instead of replace that record with payroll date.
Could anyone please help me to fine the solution ASAP.as it is very import for me
    Thanks
    Keshari

    Note 965324
    Check your time contraints
As per the timeconstraint validation if you edit the record it is
changing this validity for the future and the gap is included. That is
the system standard behavior as per the configuration. To achieve the
desired behavior you need to create a new record or change
timeconstraint to 1 (but in this case only one record may exist at a
    given period).
I kindly ask you to refer to note 818957 which explains the Use Cases x
    Timeconstraint configuration.
    ie
to achieve the functionality you have to create new future record.
Reason is you are using TC:3, in which gaps are allowed, but you dont
    want gap in between.
When an employee wanted to change his/her bank details
via portal effective future date, system is
giving error as "Change in the payroll past not possible".  This error
appears for the scenario as mention below :
    1.  Payroll is processed and Exited for the period 16th Dec 2010 to
    31st Dec 2010   on  28th Dec 2010  (3 days in advance).
    2.  Employee wanted to change bank details on 29th Dec 2010 effective
1st Jan 2011 via ESS portal.
    3.  An error Change in the payroll past not possible" is shown while
    saving the data.
In your case either you have to use TC:1, since you don't want gap in
between, or you have use new button to create future record.

  • Matching score for new records added to existing workflow

    Hi SDNers,
    My doubt is:
I have a 2 Workflows which are already in process. The triggering event for them is Manual, Record Import.
Now I manually assigned 20 records  to "Workflow A" based on Condition 1
Also, I manually assigned 20 records  to "Workflow B" based on Condition 2
I am importing 30 new records. Based on the condition, I want to assign these records to the existing Workflow A / Workflow B.
Note: There is a Match stencil, so the newly created records have to be matched against the existing records in the present Workflow itself.
Is it possible to add new records o existing workflow manually?
Also, what about the Matching score? will the records be matched?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Priti

    Hi Priti,
I tried restricting records using Named Searhes and Masks but it includes all the records with Match step property Records Vs All. You have to perform some maunal step either by selecting records using some search criteria or you can use Named Searches i.e.
    1. Create one field say New of type boolean and by default set it to NO.
    2. Create one named search for this field value to YES.
    3. Create one assignment which sets the value for this field to YES and add this assignment in the workflow as the first step.
    4. When ever you import records, assignment will set New=YES for all the records imported. Now, when you add more records, search the previous records using Restore Named Search function which will give the list of records imported now. You can perform Matching and Merging operation.
    5. Add one more assignment to the workflow as the last step which should set New=NO so that records should not appear next time for Matching

  • New Record in Database problems

    Hi All:
I am new to Appleworks, I have been building a Database and everything was working fine, but suddenly everytime I try to enter a New Record instead of giving me Blank Field it repeats a record I have entered before, and I can't seem to get a clean new record. I am sure I am not duplicating it. I am typing Command R
    Thanks a lot
    Alex Neuman

    Hi,
As much as I use and appreciate Apple hardware and software products, I must say that the Database section of AppleWorks is flaky and needs work. I suspect this will never happen given that iWorks is now Apple's front-runner. As far as I know iWorks doesn't have a db module anyway. I use Appleworks (db) in my work as music contractor as well as for invoicing and other routine applications. Until recently everything was fine. Then I built a db that had a whole lot more fields and formulae and was designed to account for just about any variable that might crop up when paying an orchestra. It was very frustrating. The problem arose when trying to delete fields. I finally came up with a workable db but it's bloated since it contains many unused fields that have been converted to "text" fields. They simply can't be deleted or AW crashes.
It's important to me to have a different db for each job I'm handling due to confidentiality, so it's imperative that I be able to open an existing db, delete all records, save under a new name, and then proceed to customize the new db to suit the needs of the new job. Appleworks hasn't been up to the task. I've mentioned this before on this forum.
Enter Filemaker Pro. There's a demo available. It's a much more fully implemented db front end: multiple tables per file, easy (and very familiar to AW users) to use interface, and perhaps best of all, great options for importing and exporting data.
That's where I'm spending my next few bucks.
