Import not authenticating portal user

I am using Portal 10.1.4 and am trying to import a portal from another Portal 10.1.4 instance. I have retrieved the import/export script from the web interface from the source system (in Navigator when selecting Export for the relevant Page Group).
However, no matter what portal user and portal password I put on the command line, I am getting an authentication error:

I have checked that the portal user is in the OID and that they have a portal profile (using the Portal Admin web interface).
How do I properly set up a user which can be used in the import script? (i.e. the pu and pp command parameters)?

The problem turned out to be an incorrect value for the company parameter. I think this is what was suggested above - and it works. Just use the default value for company when executing the import script

Firstly make sure that you have configured sites and subnets correctly. According to your information which you have two locations, you should have at least 2 sites and 2 subnets associated to them. If you have forgotten to configure subnets of India in your
site and services and assigned them to the India site you are experiencing this issue. Also make sure if clients in India has appropriate network connectivity to the domain controllers in India.

I have role also i have deleted role in User.txt uploded file with rest of the otherdata including group it it able to create users.
so in Nut shell let's say
1. UID-Murali
Role- Manager
Group- HRGroup
user existing in DEV and i want to trnasfer data to PRD
Role:Manger should exist in PRD, and group is not mandatory optional

i am bit confused.

Points are on the way.

I want that portal should do authentication of users through some other table which i have created for authentication . It should not do authentication from its default table .

One user from AD is not visible in portal user administration

Hi,
one of our users defined in Active Directory is unable to log into the portal. We have Kerberos authentication.
I've checked this user is also not visible in portal user administration. The rest of the users are visible and are able to log in.
Any ideas what could be the cause?
Maybe some settings/attributes for this user on the Active Directory side could be the cause?

Could you please check and confirm if the user,group path are the same for the
particular user on AD as that referred to by the portal. If not he would not be on the portal and
then there would not be kerberos too in place for him.

Error Message For BISystemUser: User not authenticated

We have migrated from DEV to PROD env.(11.1.1.1 -> 11.1.1.3). Along problems with bipublisher - there are some strange thingths: we successfully loging using weblogic account into AdminConsole и Enterprise Manager, but in Answers we get an error: invalid username or password.
nqserver.log:

In oracle support we found such issue (Doc ID 1308389.1):
OBIEE 11g Error: "Unable to Sign in. invalid username or password was entered" After Changing Repository, Deleting BISystem User, Adding it Back (Doc ID 1308389.1)
Applies to: Business Intelligence Server Enterprise Edition - Version: 11.1.1.3.0 [1905] to 11.1.1.5.0 [1308] - Release: 11g to 11g
Symptoms: In OBIEE 11.1.1.3.0 using default authenticator, it is not possible to log in to OBIEE after changing repository. To troubleshoot, BIsystemuser was removed from global roles and added back again.
Getting error: Unable to Sign in. invalid username or password was entered
Changes: Changed repository, deleted BISystemuser, added the user back
Cause: Several changes e.g changing rpd, deleting bisystem user, adding the user back etc. occurred in the environment and caused log in to OBIEE to stop working
Solution: After a lot of troubleshooting e.g re-starting system in the correct order, refreshing GUIDs, re-start OBIEE with default SampleAppLite.rpd and web catalog, the error persists. The system was uninstalled and re-installed to avoid further corruption and configuration problems in the new installation. This resolved the problem
Does we have to 'reinstall or make a lot of troubleshooting e.g re-starting system ' to solve this error?
It seem to be funny for PROD environment. How we cam resolve this problem?

Are you saying you upgraded both dev and prod from 11.1.1.1 to 11.1.1.3 or that you migrated a dev 11.1.1.1 to a prod 11.1.1.3? What did you migrate?
At a rough guess the BISystemUser password is different in dev and prod (created by system on install) and in your 'migration' you've moved the dev credential across to prod.
If that's the case you need to change the bisystemuser password to something known and update the credential store password.
Another possibility might just be that you need to regenerate the GUIDs:

LDAP Authentication Failed :user is not a member in any of the mapped group

I tried to set up the LDAP Authentication but I failed.
LDAP Server Configuration Summary seems to be well filled.
I managed to add a Mapped LDAP member Group: This group appears correctly in the Group list.
But itu2019s impossible to create a User. Although this user is a member of the mapped group (checked with LDAP Brower) , an error message is displayed when I tried to create it (There was an error while writing data back to the server: Creation of the user User cannot complete because the user is not a member in any of the mapped groups)

Please do this after you verify all permission settings for all the groups the account is associated with. Also, make sure you check the NTFS folder permissions before doing this as well.
Since the same result happens on multiple computers, it is not the profile.
I am recommending you delete the AD account (or rename to backup the account).
It will not effect the users Exchange account, but you will need to link it back to the new AD user account.
You can also delete her profile just to remove it, for the "just in case" scenario.

Iviews in home page not visible when I assign eu_role to portal users

Hey guys,
For the tool area search, I had access denied error. So I have assigned eu_role to the portal users and I am able to search now in the tool area.. But the problem is when I assign this eu_role to the portal users I am not able to see some iviews in my home page.. Like I had webdynpro iview and km document iview which are not visible now. And in place of KM document iview its showing me with this message:
Links :There are no items to display (Organize Entries)

"user not authenticated" in Africa

My missionary friend has an email account set up with africaonline, the service provider in Ghana. When he is at the africaonline office he can send and receive email fine. However, when he attempts to send email from any other location he gets a "user not authenticated" message. His connection is by modem. Thanks for the help!

He is using the iBook modem. I am assuming it is the same ISP since he is not changing the information that he initially entered to set up the service. He lives in a rural village and drives to an internet "cafe" - a wooden shed that provides him with a phone cable and a dial up connection. There are no land lines in his area. The strange thing is that he had no email difficulties with his previous iBook.
I don't know what kind of connection he is using at the africa online office - it is located in Accra which is a large fairly modern city.

Hi,
SAP User Administration is the standard way to export and import users in the portal. Using the export functionality, all the user information will get exported, including the roles and groups assigned:

If you only want to export the user data without the roles and groups, you'll have to delete these lines.

Timezone from portal user settings not used in DateNavigator

Hi experts
I'm facing a problem with DateNavigator component.
There is a WDJ application that used with different timezones in NW Portal.
In the app there is a DateNavigator which bound to the date context attribute.
When user select some date in DateNavigator, system converts selected date to the context using system default timezone, rather than timezone in portal user settings. This leads to the fact that the time in context is wrong - the system considers that user works in "Default" timezone but really user works in its own timezone, which different with default.
If I force TimeZone.setDefault(WDClientUser.getCurrentUser().getTimeZone()) everything works fine, but this is an empty and wrong way.
I'm using NW 7.2 CE.

Authentication of portal users with uid on oid/ldap

All works fine with authenticating users created on DAS that have
dn: cn=%LDAP_USER%,cn=users,dc=edmunds,dc=com
When I migrated user to portal schema, the auth fails. The portal schema has user dn string
uid=%LDAP_USER%, ou=people, dc=edmunds, dc=com
I got this dn string from export to ldif file. The portal user can log in to DAS.
We are using HTMLdb 1.6 and I used
LDAP Host[LDAP Test Tool] at /htmldb/f?p=4000:802 to test the parameters.
How to make this uid dn work with AppEx?

I would forget about using the is_member function for authentication until you achieve what you need directly with dbms_ldap. You can experiment with an anonymous block in SQL*Plus starting with this sample code until you can get the simple_bind_s to work with your parameters:set serveroutput on

I have successfully integrate a web dynpro app into SAP Netweaver Portal.
Within my web dynpro app, how can I get portal user context information such as first name, last name, job title or some newly created ume attibutes.
Is there any programmatical approach to get portal user context in my web dynpro. I not sure whether I can use the following codes in web dynpro?
IUserContext userContext = request.getUser();
String firstName = userContext.getFirstName();
String lastName = userContext.getLastName();
If yes, can someone point me the name of the jar file I have to import.
Note : The SAP Netweaver installation that runs my web dynpro app is same with the SAP Portal.

you can use the below code to get User details and add com.sap.security_2.0.0 > lib > com.sap.security.api.jar
