Import, package, connection

Here's my problem. This a second forum, first one; no answer.
I think here are all the necessary information, codes are quite long...
I have 3 servlets, S1, S2, S3. and a java class Data.
All these servlets, classes and build.xml are in a same folder ( WEB-INF/src/
Compiler says that S1 and S2 are ok, but S3; there are 4 errors.
And when I try ( S2 works fine ) to open url S3 a web browser says;
The requested resource.... is not available.
S1
import java.io.*;
import java.text.*;
import java.util.*;
import javax.servlet.*;
import javax.servlet.http.*;

and so on...

S2

public class S2 extends S1 {

and so on...
S3
// I believe the problem is JUST in S3. I think that S1 and S2 are ok.
import java.io.*;

import javax.servlet.http.*;
import java.sql.*;
public class S3 extends S1 {        // THIS  MUST EXTEND S1
public void execute(HttpServletRequest req, PrintWriter out, Connection db) throws Exception {}
public void doGet(HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse resp) throws ServletException, IOException {}
public void doPost(HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse resp) throws ServletException, IOException {
and so on...
Compiler says 4 errors;
S3.java:15: cannot find symbol
[javac] symbol: class S1
[javac] public class S3 extends S1 {
[javac] ^
S3.java:64: cannot find symbol
[javac] symbol : variable db
[javac] location: class S2.S3
[javac] db = Data.getConnection();

S3.java:65: cannot find symbol

[javac] location: class S2.S3
[javac] Statement stmt6 = db.createStatement();
[javac] ^
[javac] 4 errors
And I have a class Data and method getConnection is in it;
import java.sql.*;
public class Data {
public static Connection getConnection() throws Exception {
Please, help. Can someone solve this? Why S3 can't find S1 and its symbols??

Please use 'New to Java' forum for compilation errors. This is unrelated to servlets.

    i will appreciate your contributions. the project runtime is set to false as well. or do i have to do that for individual package

    Did you change the deployment type to package recently?
    +1
    Since you can see the errors in the job history, it means you scheduled the package like in the package deployment model, i.e. without using the catalog. Like this, you cannot use project connections.

  • Import package and dllhost process hanging

    When attempting to run the import package through data manager, the window freezes while attempting to select an import file. The application server shows one of the dllhost.exe processes using all available CPU capacity from this step. After terminating the data manager on the client, the dllhost.exe that consumes the CPU on the application server terminates as well.
    We are on BPC release 7.5.104.03 on the MS platform.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Newbie- How to import package, procedures, etc?

    I used the "Database export", from Developer computer, to expoty tables,export Procedures,export Packages,etc to a file
    from SQl Developer.
    In Sql Developer, How do I import those tables, import procedures, import packages to my "LIVE REAL " computer?
    I want to copy Package, copy procedure, etc from "Developer computer" to "LIVE REAL DATA" computer?
    TIA
    Steve42

    If you have access to the 2 databases from your sqldev client (and thus have connections set up to both of them), just run the obtained export file from the dev DB as script (F5), using the connection to the production DB (drop-down in the upper right corner).
    Have fun,

  • Import packages onto cs mars

    Hello,
    I have downloaded the latest cs mars packages onto my laptop.  I want to import them onto the cs mars device so i can do an upgrade.  Can anyone recommend a simple ftp server software so that i can import packages into cs mars.  I have tried a few already but am having a nightmare getting any of them to work.
    Is their any screenshots of how to do this?
    regards,
    Kevin

    Thanks for that.  I have now made some progress and am successfully connecting from csmars to a FTP server.  I have the packages on the FTP server and and they are downloading across onto the cs mars server but i get this error when they come across.
    The catalog in the downloaded file csmars-6.0.3.3188.pkg was corrupted. The file has been deleted by the system.
    I have tried 2 other images and they both downloaded ok but also got the same error and were deleted.  I am using csmars version 6.0.2 at the moment and am trying to upgrade it to the latest version so have to upgrade them in sequential fashion starting with 6.0.3
    any advice is welcome

  • Error while running import package

    Hi,
    Transformation file was validated successfully. But after running import package i am having following error on MS-BPC-7.0.
    Invalid character in the given encoding. Line 1, position 1.
    When i try validate and process trans file i am having the following error message. But same data file and same trans file was working till couple of days ago. After that whatever changes i have made to file, i did revert them to have it working like beofre.
    Warning: Some records were rejected.
    Rejected records reference either calculated members or invalid members.
    Actually rejected record is only, one, but even other data was not loaded.
    Thanks in advance for sharing your ideas or similar experiences.
    Thanks,
    KK

    Hi,
    There is definitely some problem with one of the records there. Do you have header? What is the delimiter? Do you have the same delimiter in the transformation file? You need to take a look at all the possibilities.
    Hope this helps.

  • Import package from one project into another

    Hello everyone,
    I have some projects.
    An enterprise and war project created in netbeans.
    I would like to use some files from one project to another. when I import
    the package I get the error-
    'package x does not exist'
    I have added the package to the project but I still get the error.
    I have also added the project to import to my glasspath but still.
    E.g.
    set classpath
    .;c:\enterpriseA;
    My next idea is to create a war project into my enterprise project and copy the files
    from the war project into it in order to use it. But I'm sure there is a better way.
    THanking you in advance.

    One mistake I keep making is that I don't add the package to the
    Dependencies of the plugin I'm writing. You have to go to plugin.xml,
    and add the package you depend on to the Dependencies section. Maybe you
    didn't do this?

  • Load of big files in BPC with import package

    HI,
    I need to import many files (.txt) with 1,5 million of data lines in BPC with import package.
    But BPC is limited to 500 000 lines for each import.
    Have you got a solution ?
    Thanks,
    Morgann

    Morgann,
    You have two options.
    1. use import into FACT table -> Cons : System will be offline.  Pros : faster performance. No limit
    2. if you should use import package,  split file and put it into one folder and create a custom package that will handle those data file one by one.      Cons : Need to make a custom package   Pros : No system offline.
    I hope it will help you.
    Thanks.

  • Problem in importing package

    i am new to java and facing problems in importing package which are self made.
    secondly does JDK 1.1.3 can support swing

    Hi,
    I had some problems myself. I will add few lines, maybe it helps:
    OK, let's assume that you work in a directory. In this case, set classpath to this hierarchy as well as to "." ('this' hierarchy - like in DOS).
    Now, assume that you want to use packages MyPack1 and MyPack2. The source files of classes belonging to MyPack1 must:
    - start with command
    package MyPack1;
    - be located all in the directory MyPack1
    (and the same for MyPack2, of course)
    If you want to use MyPack1 within MyPack2, you have to include:
    import MyPack1.*;
    even though MyPack1 is, in fact, located on path: ../MyPack1/*
    (trust the classpath is important here)
