Imported Rotated Clips get Squished vertically when imported

Had clips taken vertically and used Quick Time Pro to flip 90 degrees and look fine in Quick Time player. But when I put into iMovie and preview they are compressed vertically so everyone looks FAT!! Tried Final Cut Express Classic version and MPEG streamclip but cannot find a solution. I reviewed some similar posts but did not find the solution yet. John

Thank you very much Lennart. Still took me a while to get it right. The trick was to start with the sideways clip, rather than first rotating with Quicktime. When I exported and rotated in one step per the MPEG Streamclip instruction it worked fine and then opened great in iMovie 6. Appreciated quick help!!

Video Squished Vertically When Imported.

Howdy!
This is my first go with iMovie, and I've noticed that my videos are squished when imported into iMovie.
The original .dv file is 648x480 (4:3) with letter boxing built into the vid. When I import into iMovie 4:3 it appears to be squishing it vertically.

Changing the project to 16:9 makes the issue worse.
What can I do to make sure the video doesn't get squished?

I'm going to have to test this out, because I've wondered how iMovie '09 would deal with DV. I think it has something to do with unsquare pixels (DV uses them, Apple Intermediate Codec—which iMovie '09 "converts" clips to sometimes—uses square pixels.
Perhaps if you edit the video as-is, looking that way (squashed down), and export it with custom settings within Quicktime (not just using iMovie's default export feature) that you can squish it back into shape? As long as all the clips are consistently squished or squashed, then I think it might work . . . we'll have to see.

4:3 clip getting squished instead of pillarboxed

Hi, I have a 16:9 sequence (DV PAL Anamorphic) to which I am adding a 4:3 clip (25fps, 720x576, DV PAL, PAL - CCIR 601). I would expect the clip to get pillar boxed but instead its getting horizontally stretched. I can change the aspect ration in Motion but when i do so, it only applies that to the selected frame in viewer instead of the whole clip.
How can I get the pillarboxing instead? I want that and then plan to scale up. I seem to only be having this problem with this particular clip, the others are pillar boxed.

I did not import with PAL anamorphic preset. I used DV PAL only.
If I look at the properties of the clip in the browser, the anamorphic flag is not checked. If I look at the same clip but now in the timeline and look at its properties, the anamorphic flag is still not checked.
I would expect that FCE would set the distort -> aspect ratio to 33.33 when i add it to the 16:9 timeline but instead of that, its just squishing it.
I can manually set the aspect ratio myself to 33.33 but even if i set this for the start and finish frame, when i play back it starts with the pillarbox (aspect ratio = 33.33 on the 1st frame) but then expands to fill the screen before shrinking back to get the pillarbox on the last frame (aspect ratio = 33.33 on the last frame).

Movie clips get hung up when viewing project

I have not worked on my imovie projects for a while but after creating a new project and using the 30fps the yellow numbers in the clips disappear and I can view the project. However, now clips keep getting "hung up". Movie plays and the audio (from i-tunes music) plays on while individual clips keep getting stuck for a couple of seconds before carrying on or jumping part of the next clips. Have tried detaching audio from the the clip but no change. Does anyone have an idea what this could be and how to solve it. Have posted this question in the frame rate problem section as well.

Where is the existing project located? If you say it's on a network drive, that's likely the cause. But if it's on a local C drive, odds are something else is afoot. Is source control involved?

Image getting repeated vertically

Following is the css code I am using

But the background image is getting repeated vertically when

The problem is no doubt the background-attachment: fixed
style.

It seemed to have worked ok and all of my songs are there but when you try to play them, they just dont play.
Ive tried putting a cd in and that wont read or play.
Ive gone on to the itunes store and tried playing a song there,when I click on the play button the blue circle activates but just continues in a clockwise rotation but doesn't play.
I have a old ipod,my wife and I have iphone 5s and a ipad mini.
I am affraid to plug them back into my computer until I sort the problem out.(they had been plugged in before this happened and worked fine.

Do you memeber the complete wording of the error message?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

Don't worry I've sorted it! I just had to turn off Reminders as well in iCloud. Calendar then worked fine, even when I turned Calendar and Reminders back on.

I remember accidently pressing the import all photos instead of the 10 that i wanted, so i clicked delete. Also i always just pull card from computer & get a error when it do it

Hi there,
You're running an old version of Safari. Before troubleshooting, try updating it to the latest version: 6.0. You can do this by clicking the Apple logo in the top left, then clicking Software update.
You can also update to the latest version of OS X, 10.8 Mountain Lion, from the Mac App Store for $19.99, which will automatically install Safari 6 as well, but this isn't essential, only reccomended.

I always get an ERROR when I import avi videos in After Effects !!

As I said in the title ,,
I always get an error when I import an (avi) video into After Effects CS5.5 ,,
and I don't Know why ,
in other hand I can open the same video I imported it in many media programs like : Windows Media Player-Quike Time-Windows Media Center- Real Player ,, except After Effect !
Although the same Program I used before Formatting the computer ,, but after Formatting the Projects file for Adobe After Effect didn't Open as well !!
The Picture I attached shows the Error ,,
Note:
the question marks in the pictures are for the Arabic name of the avi video ,,and this version of Adobe After Effect CS5.5 is trail ,,
I hope to find a solution for my problem ,,

I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

What version of iPhoto are you using and from where (and how) are you trying to import the photos?
As a first fix attempt try this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and see if you get the same message. If you don't then the problem lies with your current library.

Can database link get metadata location when import database objects ?

I used database link to connect remote database . but i couldn't use it to get metadata location when i import database objects in OWB. OWB required me to create a new location which is diffirent from database link. I couldn't see a location, its type is database link. Anyone suggest me a answer ?

i can't see locations, that have type being database link from location's list in metadata location but i can see them from data locations.
When i add new location A ,its type isn't database link then i can see it ( location A) from metadata location, data locations
And when i view data from table imported , i get this error : " Data location not specified or does not currently support data viewing. Check if this object's owning module is configured with a location that support data viewing"
