Importing stereo tracks, simple and silly

So I've stepped away from the sound portion of my work and am now getting back to the grind.
I have FCP suite 5.
When I export from FCP to STP as a multitrack project I unlink the stereo pair of my field recordings, and they appear as separate tracks in STP, panning to the left and right.
When I drag and drop new media from the same recording session it enters as a single track panned to the center, and not as a two track stereo pair.
I don't remember if I ever resolved this annoying aspect to the program.
Can you drag a stereo recording from the browser into a project and it not enter as a single track?
It is really a simple and silly question.
Thanks,
Nate

Yes, this is a bit of a snag... and one that for a completely different reason I ran into myself recently. The best solution I've come across so far (because it's free, and does exactly what it says it will) is Sound Devices' WaveAgent. Essentially, if you can easily decode into mono wav files, it will pack them into whatever format you want, all as one file. I use it to encode four mono files into one four-channel R64 file, which means that when you import it into Audition, it does exactly what you want - all edits occur on all four channels. It would do just the same for stereo.

  • OMF importing Stereo Tracks are Seperate Mono?

    Hey guys,
When you import OMFs into audition, each stereo track from FCP comes in on a seperate mono track.  How do you make the 2 tracks that were originally stereo in FCP stereo in Audition so you dont have to make the same edit to the two seperate mono tracks every time?  This is killing me.. Im reading about this mix pasting idea and making a new stereo file but I have to do this for every track that is imported into my multi track project??  I'm so confused.  Anyone got any tips?
    Thanks,

  • Import Management - Tracking License and Quantity / Quota for PO

    Hi,
We have a scenario relating to Imports management. I have searched online for the solutions provided by SAP and came across two functionalities.
    1. SAP R/3 - Foreign Trade Management ( also listed as Compliance Management in SAP Solution Composer )
    2. SAP GRC - Global Trade Services ( part of the Business Objects portfolio)
The main objective is to be able to track if we have an import permit available before we release a purchase order. If it is available we should check if the permit allows a specified quantity to be imported.
If both the permit and the permitted quantity are available then the Purchase Order should be released, otherwise it should be on hold until a permit for the material is obtained.
Is is also desired that the quantity of the import license is consumed upon each G/R or Purchase Order.
Please advise how to handle such situation in SAP. PLEASE PROVIDE THE POSSIBLE CONFIGURATION MILESTONES FOR THE SAME.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Muazzam

    Hi Amir,
I have done as per the link given by you. In my PO Gr based IV flag is not set and have maintained tolerance key DQ.
Please let me know if anything else also needs to be done.

  • Imported clips has 19 stereo tracks mysteriously added. Exported frm iphoto

Hi, I posted this on the iPhoto section, but after thinking it over, maybe it's actually an FCP 6 issue...
I am exporting three slideshows from iPhoto '08 to Quicktime to be placed in a Final Cut Pro project. The first two exported fine. The longest one (just over ten minutes) exports and plays in QuickTime, but when you import to Final Cut, it mysterious has 19 stereo tracks attached, and won't play unless you remove all of those tracks (hence, no music) Again, the shorter two come in just fine with one stereo pair, as you would expect.
I installed the iPhoto update, tried again, still the same thing...

Lots to be excited about. BUT...Just updated to 8.1 on one of my computers to test it out...
Sadly, the following issue is NOT fixed for me. Is it with new projects only?  I haven't started a new project on 8.1 I've only opened an old project but the issue that I'm referring to which involves also a delay/freeze of anywhere from a few seconds to a MINUTE while the render bar goes from yellow to red and then back to yellow is still there. Boo.
    On the list above...
Switching between sequences can turn the render bar red.
This issue is incredibly easy to replicate. I really do hope it gets fixed. Here are the steps:
    1) Create two sequences with multiple short clips (the more clips the better)
    2) Make sure GPU acceleration is enabled.
    3) Add warp stabilizer to the clips in both sequences. Again, the more clips the longer the delay/freeze will be as the render bar goes from YELLOW to RED and then eventually back to YELLOW again.
    4) Hit SAVE.
    5) Now, toggle between sequences. You'll hit a short delay with a few clips stabilized and a LONG delay with lots stabilized. In my case this delay is around a full minute. The render bar will go from YELLOW to RED and then back to yellow...eventually.
    6) Toggle back to the original sequence and the delay occurs again.
    7) Once you've toggled between sequences and have gone through this delay, that's it, there is no longer a delay...UNTIL...(and here's the big kicker)...until the project is SAVED again. After that the issue returns when you toggle between sequences. Both saving manually and AUTOSAVING cause this issue. No way around it except not editing with GPU acceleration.
Not sure what the issue is...caching issue when saving maybe? Either way, it stinks and it's still there in 8.1. Big bummer.
Again, lots to be excited about with this release but I really was hopefully this specific issue was resolved.
    Sigh.

  • IPhoto or Final Cut bug: export creates 19 stereo tracks attached to file!

    Ryan:
Is it just that one particular slideshow or will any slideshow exported and imported to FCP display that problem? Also, if you have Quicktime Pro, open the problem file with it and check to see if if contains those 19 tracks. If not, then maybe FCP is causing the issue.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • How do i export 16 mono tracks in a sequence as 8 stereo tracks.

Hi I'll be working with 16 tracks of mono audio in Premiere to enable flexibility with my audio edits but when i export i want to make those 16 tracks as 8 stereo tracks, as this is what our specs for TX are.  So 1&2 will be stereo track 1, 3&4 will be stereo track 2, 5&6 will be stereo track 3 and so forth... In FCP this is easy as you can link and unlink the audio in the sequence, and in the sequence settings audio outputs dictate whether it will be mono or stereo.
From what i gather i can edit in mono sequence then copy and paste into stereo sequence, however as the audio tracks are 1 track whether it is stereo or mono how do 16 fit into 8 when pasting.
Sorry in advance if i am missing something very easy here, but im pulling my hair out with this.
    Thanks in advance
    Jason

PP wil naturally send a track to two channels, even with a multichannel Master.  So you can ruote the tracks in the Mixer window.

  • Create 2 stereo tracks from 2 mono tracks

If I send a FCP sequence to a STP mulitrack project it opens with a left channel (A) as the on camera mic and the right channel (B) as the wireless mic. Since I want both to come through both channels I assume I should make the edits/corrections on both, then insert 2 new blank tracks. I'll then copy/paste each of the previously mono tracks so I have 2 stereo track, right and left A and right and left B. Does this sound correct or am I missing something here?

No. One work around would be to create a stereo sub mix channel, this would at least give you a single fader but it won't help you when editing. You could try grouping the video and two audio, then they should be easier to select.

  • In Final Cut Pro X 10.1.1 I'm trying to separate left and right stereo tracks to delete left and pan right to centre. I cannot find a way to do this.

I record in stereo with a 10KHz tone down the left channel to defeat AGC on my camera and mic feed into the right channel. When I edit, I want to mute/delete the left channel and pan the right into the centre, to leave me with mono audio across both left and right. I could do this easily in FCP 6 but can find no way to do it in FCP X. I'm using the same source files. When I choose Dual Mono mode in the Audio Inspector, it mixes left and right and pushes the combined signal into both channels, giving me a mix of 10KHZ tone and audio in both left and right. Stereo mode shows me the two channels correctly with one driven hard (the tone) and the other at good voice levels. I just want to kill the left channel and pan the right to centre.
I'm converting original TOD files using MPEG Streamclip before import and definitely keeping audio as stereo.
This is driving me nuts! It should be simple and is in FCP 6. Any help greatly appreciated.
    Stereo Setting
    Mono Setting

Mb - If you're using FCPX 10.1.1 and Mavericks, make certain you've downloaded the most current Sony XDCAM FCPX plugin from sonycreativesortware.com unless you're using an older version of FCPX and then you'd need the previous XDCAM plugin.
You shouldn't see 8 mono tracks.  There are import settings in /fCPX that you can check and I don't ask FCPX to analyze my media or seperate mono or combine stereo, etc.  I like to have everything come in as it is, especially because I know what I've done with every channel, etc.
What I wrote to Ian is what I'd tell you - so please take a look at how you can make a "stereo" track that is actually two mono tracks, mono.  Once you do that you can address each mono channel by itself since it needs different volume, compression, and EQ than other channels.
There are ethernet, USB, and firewire controllers that work in FCPX, but that's not the typical workflow because generally if you're getting into any amount of post audio sweetening beyond basic "staples" audio treatment, you would instead use "Roles" to export your audio to Logic or Pro Tools and do you work in those applications and then cut the final product back into your FCPX project.  In Logic or Pro Tools is where you might use a controller.
In terms of automating levels, I'm not positive I know what you mean.  Compressor is a nice internal Logic plugin that kind of automates levels in a way but its about compressing peaks at a threshold that you set and at a ratio of compression.  So I may not understand what other automation is available unless you've exported you tracks to Logic or Pro Tools.

  • Encore CS3 - Hangs and import problems with menus and avi footage with audio tracks present.

I'm trying to import some footage files in .avi format into Encore CS3 and am having several problems.
In what follows when I say "crash" I mean Encore quits with a standard Windows error. When I say "hang" I mean Encore does not quit but rather becomes an unresponsive process that must be killed manually using Windows Task Manager.
    My System:
    WinXP Pro SP2
2.93 GHz Intel Celeron CPU - single core
    Intel PERL mobo
    3GB 400MHz RAM
    NVidia 7800GS video
I mention these specs however I am not experiencing any hardware
related bugs or issues (like out of memory or video driver crashes
etc) when using any CS3 app.
The footage files (as reported by GSpot) and problems I am seeing. In all cases GSpot reports that I have the appropriate codec installed:
    footage1.avi - Dx50 XVid 1.0.3, Dolby AC3 48kHz 192kb/s, 716834 KB
Attempting to import as timeline causes Encore CS3 to hang.
Importing as an Asset allows it to import but when I try to click
on it in the project windown to add it to a new empty timeline,
Encore hangs. It plays fine in Windows Media Player.
    footage2.avi - Dx50 XVid 1.0.3, MPEG-1 Layer 3 48kHz 128kb/s, 718302 KB
Imports fine as either a timeline or asset but no audio track comes

fine in Windows Media Player. Video imports perfectly, just no
audio. I tried converting this one using AVS to both MPEG3 and DivX,
each using MPEG1-Layer3 44kHz 192kb/s audio, and got the same issue
upon importing into Encore CS3. I also loaded it into Camtasia
Studio and it looked fine over there. The audio was present and I
was able to export it as a .WAV file. When I tried looking at the
file in Soundbooth CS3, there was no audio track or, more
accurately, the audio track was a flat line.
By way of comparison these are importing perfectly:
    footage4.avi - XVID XviD 1.1.0 Beta2, MPEG1-Layer3 48kHz 189kb/s Two mono

Although this one imported & transcoded correctly, when I went to
build it to a DVD image file I got some strange errors during the
"planning video" stage that prevented the process from completing.
Unfortunately I neglected to write down the error message I recieved
which read like quite nonsensical babble to me, and I have since
deleted the project folder. I remember it was not a memory or
display related error and it included a timestamp where the error
was happening. I played the footage in the preview panel thru the
identified timestamp but it previewed perfectly without even a
jitter in either the video or audio. Took forever to transcode so I
doubt I'll be doing this one again anytime soon.
Another issue I am having is with the motion menus. I burned a DVD and it does not load correctly in one of my DVD players (a Sony rdr-gx330 recorder/player). It appears to take extra time to recognize the disk, the startup (first-play) menu does not show automatically, and I must press the Main Menu button on the

Another issue I am having is with the motion menus. I burned a DVD and it does not load correctly in one of my DVD players (a Sony rdr-gx330 recorder/player). It appears to take extra time to recognize the disk, the startup (first-play) menu does not show automatically, and I must press the Main Menu button on the remote control to make it appear. Other than that it seems to play ok in that player. Also tested it in 2 other DVD players (a Panasonic and Zenith) and it worked just fine like it's supposed to in them. Also plays perfectly in my computer's DVD player/burner using Windows Media Player v10. I tried burning to Memorex +RW single-layer single-sided disks at 6, 7, & 8Mbps project settings but got the exact same result every time.
Encore CS3 crashes fairly often during authoring, particularly during imports, and when I go to edit things like calling up a timeline in the timeline panel, dragging footage into an existing timeline, or changing button links in a menu etc.. I have also experienced seemingly random hangs even more often, probably 5 or 6 times as often as a crash. Saving the project after every little change I make, then closing and restarting Encore allows me to make progress albeit at a significantly reduced workflow rate. Accessing Photoshop from Encore appears to be working flawlessly so far aside from the slow load times. Encore hangs sometimes during video transcoding, repeat the process and it works ok. If I try to import a menu from the library after importing my footage files, Encore hangs trying to import it either at the 50% mark or the 99% mark (it varies even with the same exact menu selected from the library). If I import the menu first and the footage after, then no problems. Also trying to render motion menus after importing footage causes Encore to hang, render before footage import and everything works ok. Interestingly enough, previewing my project in Encore's monitor or preview panels works perfectly even in High quality mode -- in fact it operates quite smoothly in comparison to other apps I have tried. Although those footage files that had missing audio tracks on import obviously played silently, I have yet to experience a hang or crash during a preview or when scrubbing through a timeline in the monitor panel.
The last problem I've seen is with the project cache files. It doesn't always get rid of cache files when stuff is deleted from the project. I was working on one project and surprisingly ran out of disk space. When I tracked it down I found that there were some two dozen copies of a footage file I had repeatedly imported and deleted from the project still sitting in the cache folder. The file was an avi about 2GB so it was taking up some 40 GB of disk space for stuff that was no longer in the project. I tried shutting down Encore and manually deleting all the cache files, and that worked for most of them, but there was one 2GB file that kept reappearing in the cache folder even though it was no longer in the project. The XML file in the cache folder still had references to it in there so I can only assume that was the reason it kept showing up. I eventually had to delete and totally recreate the project from scratch to regain my lost disk space. This included having to sit thru a 6 hour long transcoding session which pissed me off to no end.
Encore CS3 appears on the surface to be a very powerful, feature rich, and approachable app with a simple easy to use interface, but it is awfully bugged in just about every area I have explored and still needs lots and lots of work for it to be really useful. Frankly for me it is pretty damn annoying that I have invested so much money in this suite only to find several of the apps in it (Encore & Premiere in particular) behaving this poorly. In my opinion every single app in the suite exhibits lousy performance whenever you must do anything at all involving the disk from the time you click to start it up until the time you click to close it down. Several of them are just as seriously bugged as Encore too, and being a long time Photoshop v5.5 user I expected much more from Adobe. Even Photoshop is two or three times as slow now (e.g. it takes about 20-30 seconds to simply create an empty 500x500 pixel image file and almost a full minute to load a 30x60 pixel single-layer gif). So far I have attempted to create 6 DVDs using Encore and after 3 weeks of effort have only succeeded in getting one of them onto a final disk -- and that one is kinda limping to work correctly in my DVD player. Three of those projects became so corrupted while working on them that I had to delete them completely and recreate them from scratch, only to find that I still couldn't get them to completion for one reason or another. Seriously disappointing.

  • Imovie and audio - dealing with separate stereo tracks in imovie

The footage I am working with has stereo recording - a boom mike (L) and a lapel mike (R) were used simultaneously. However, I want to use only the left track that has the boom mike because the guy with the lapel mike is talking too much and drowning out the conversations on the boom mike.
I see that there are separate tracks playing in imovie but I see no way to use only the left or right track in the audio. What do I need to do? if iMovie cannot handle it, can I export the audio as a stereo track and edit it in Garageband, then re-import it?

    Hi
if iMovie cannot handle it, can I export the audio as a stereo track and edit it in Garageband, then re-import it?
Yes - iMovie HD or other - Can't handle this.
Export out - as QuickTime expert mode and Audio only and as .aiff
Put it into an Audio editor - like GarageBand or Audacity (free on internet)
Edit it and save as .aiff
Re-import into iMovie and put on bottom track - silencing out top-track.
    Done this many times -Works.

  • OMF import-How do others deal with stereo tracks?

When importing OMF's from Avid or FCP all stereo audio files come in on separate mono tracks (ie all music tracks will appear as two adjacent mono tracks). When track managing, all stereo audio files need to be moved from the mono tracks and placed on to stereo tracks (for inserting of effects, etc.) prior to editing and mixing.
In another pro audio ap that shall remain nameless, one would simply grab the stereo pair (left and right sides of the audio file) from the adjacent mono tracks and drag them onto a newly created stereo track. This method is extremely fast and is vital when faced with an hour long show (especially when the video editor hands off an OMF to which there is no rhyme or reason which happens more often than not!).
How is this accomplished in Logic?

    Rohan Stevenson1 wrote:
aaron, read through this twice before and now about 3 times more. i still don't understand your problem.
i would have prepared tracks prior to importing in logic, or imported them into some kind of template and shifted them around like that. i would use KCs to accomplish most of this. you only need the LH file to play back a split stereo file in stereo.
    Hi Rohan,
As a professional post audio mixer, I am given OMF's from either Avid or FCP from the client. I have no control over how the tracks are managed by the video editor prior to my receiving them.
Even if the video editor has track managed the audio appropriately (VO, production audio, FX and music all placed on their own tracks which rarely happens), the files will still come into a DAW on separate adjacent mono tracks.
For example, all of the music in an hour long program will come in with the left side of the stereo file on one mono track and the right side of the audio file on another mono track. This is just how OMF's translate from video aps to DAW's. The OMF cannot be tweaked to operate differently. It is what it is. Obviously any stereo elements need to be placed on stereo tracks for eq, compression and volume automation.
When mixing a show, the first thing that must be done is to 'track manage' all of your elements. Usually VO on one track, production audio split amongst a few tracks, mono and stereo effects on their own tracks and then a couple of stereo tracks for the music.
So let's say I open an OMF. The first thing that must be done is to go through the show, identify all of the stereo elements (most commonly music tracks and FX), grab them from the mono tracks that they came in on and place them on to newly created stereo tracks. In Pro Tools this is a fairly quick process as you are able to grab two mono files and drag them directly on to a new stereo track right in the arrange page.
Every time you open a new OMF you are confronted with hundreds of regions that need to be track managed before you can edit and mix. Deadlines are always tight so a fast and efficient method is a must.
What I am describing is standard practice in a post audio workflow when mixing for television. This is not a pressing issue as the studios I freelance for are all PTHD based. However, I would love to start testing my Logic rig at home to see how it stacks up on big sessions!
Any help or tips would be appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Premiere XML import maps all stereo tracks to mono with no way back HELP!!!

    Hi
I recently upgraded to Premiere 2014 and Audition 2014 so that I could import Audition and Premiere projects back and forth. This was meant to work previously but absolutely did not!
The very clunky and archaic export to FCP XML interchange format (FCP hello wtf) is the only way to do this.
I have now discovered to my horror that all my imported stereo audio has been mapped to mono. And if you know what that means you'll also know that it cannot be undone without completely manually importing all the material again and dropping it onto stereo timelines only.
Meaning that Audition XML import still does not work.
I would love to know why this is and if there is a way around it?
I imagine that this is the sort of question only an Adobe employee can help with but if you're not then thanks a lot for your time
    remainz

I'm not sure I follow your workflow.  I've never used XML export/import from Audition.  Usually I use the dynamic link methods to work on audio in Audition and round-trip back to Premiere.  That said, I *THINK* I know what you're talking about with Premiere's audio limitations when importing from FinalCut XML (+1 for What the Fetch on FinalCut XML).  The workflow and problem you describe sounds similar to what happens when syncing audio and video in PluralEyes and then importing the resulting FCP XML.  It's been on my complaint list for a very, very long time.  All audio shows up in Premiere as TWO separate tracks (each mono, if I remember right).
The awkward work-around, at least in my case, is to re-interperet ALL of the audio files as stereo, in the project panel and then hammer out about 100 or more Match Frame operations to replace all of the audio in my timeline(s).  Let me take this opportunity, once again, to plead with Adobe:  PLEASE fix XML import so that mono comes in as mono, and stereo comes in as stereo.  If it's a limitation of FinalCut XML, why not be innovative and create a new industry standard that works:  PPrXML!   And please, please, PLEASE bring the "Modify Audio" command directly to the timeline where so many of us need it MOST!!!

    D:\My Music\B.B. King\Blues On The Bayou\02 Bad Case Of Love.mp3
    D:\My Music\B.B. King\Blues On The Bayou\03 I'll Survive.mp3
    But now I get:
    D:\My Music\Compilations\Blues On The Bayou\01 Blues Boys Tune.mp3
    D:\My Music\ Compilations \02 Bad Case Of Love.mp3
    D:\My Music\ Compilations \03 I'll Survive.mp3
In iTunes my settings are Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced: iTunes Music folder: D:\My Music and checkmark in both: “Keep iTunes Music folder organized” and “Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library”.
My version of iTunes is 8.0.1.11
    Thanks in advance

It will depend on the album. Gracenote considers anthologies, a collection of tracks by the same artist taken from different albums, as a compilation. In iTunes the compliation setting should really only be applied to a collection of tracks by different artists.

Up until a week ago, when importing a CD into iTunes, the name of the track and band would appear however this no longer happens. Now only the Track # appear and no band name. I know I can edit this manually, but it quite cumbersome. There has to be an easy fix or change that will correct this problem where when I import a CD to my iTunes library the song title and band will appear. Resolutions please? Thank you!

Sorry, it took so long to respond. The computer is connected to the internet via a dedicated DSL line. As I mentioned, up until two weeks ago this was never a problem and really nothing has changed. I tried going under Advanced as you suggested but it came back with "Unable to connect to the CDDB server. The network connection was refused. Make sure you internet connection is active and your network settings are correct, then try again."
    Any other suggestions? Thanks

  • CDs import OK to iTunes Windows but not to iTunes MacOS!  I have had 3 successive audio CDs with the same problem.  They have exactly 20 tracks each, and track 19 claims to be over 14 hours long, and track 20 over 1 hour long.  Any clues?

I have an ageing (2006) iMac running OS 10.6.8 with an external LG CD/DVD writer (I've worn out the internal one).  I am not sure whether this is an iTunes issue or a LG issue.
Incident 1: importing a CD with 71 short tracks via iTunes.  Track 24 is listed as 25 seconds long, but (on the first attempt) only the first 10 seconds actually import.  I spotted it immediately as it also blacked out the artwork and refused to let me paste the artwork back in.  A second attempt at the import worked correctly.  ** SOLVED AT 2ND ATTEMPT **
Incident 2: importing a CD with 20 tracks averaging a little over 3 minutes each.  Gracenote did not recognise the disc.  The first 18 tracks showed reasonable track lengths, but track 19 showed 14 hours 43 minutes 21 seconds [!] and track 20 showed over 1 hour [possibly track 20 was showing the length of the entire CD].  The remaining 2 tracks were successfully imported into my other iTunes on a Windows XP machine (where Gracenote *did* recognise the CD) and transferred to the Mac over my internal network.  The next 2 CDs also had exactly 20 tracks each, and also had track 19 showing 14 hours 43 minutes and a few seconds (not quite the same as the original track 19, but close...) and track 20 showing over 1 hour [again possibly the length of the entire CD].
I tried "Get album artwork" on one of the early tracks of one of the CDs, and it came back with an error "Invalid TOC" - this looks to me like the table of contents is getting corrupted (hence the bizarre track lengths reported, and hence Gracenote not recognising the resulting bizarre profile) when there are exactly 20 tracks on the CD.
But a CD with 21 tracks looks OK, and so does a CD with 8 tracks.
I'm putting this one down as ** SOLVED BY USING ITUNES ON WIN-XP AND TRANSFERRING FILES BETWEEN MACHINES ** but I would like to know what is going on!
Has anyone else had a similar problem?

At the lower bitrates that were popular several years ago, like 128, AAC provides better audio quality than MP3. At some point ( the dbPoweramp experts believe it is 160 ) the advantage disappears, and above that AAC and MP3 are sonically equivalent. However, MP3 still enjoys a huge advantage in acceptance and compatibility across multiple players, programs, and phones.
In any case, it hardly appears to be worth the trouble to re-rip your CDs. But don't discard them either!
