In-Browser Elevated Permissions Setup with SL5 Issues

I am having a devil of a time setting up in-browser elevation with an application I'm developing for a client.
Software's purpose: Download excel, docx and other writable files to a user's system, launch the file in the default viewer, let the user edit it and save the file, monitor for that file change, and prompt the the user to upload the changed
file back to the server.
I know this sounds like a dropbox or sharepoint type of thing but it's to store files that will be used with the SEC, we have a back end that stores the files according to the SEC's requirements. While I can get the Download, Monitor, Prompt and Upload all
to work, I need Elevated Permissions In Browser to launch the files. For obvious security reasons, this is made to be hard but it's proven far beyond that.
I have the following actions taking place to set up the program and the end user's system such that all this should work:
XAP package is code-signed with a certificate provided by DigiCert (Issued By: DigiCert SHA2 Assured ID Code Signing CA, Issued to my Client, Expires Dec 2017). This enabled the lovely blue install prompt method for OOB instead of the yellow
warning one, and is required for elevated in browser to work properly.
I have enabled Out of Browser for the purpose of allowing the user to launch the SL app in an area where there are less security restrictions. When run out of browser, it performs the following actions, and then quits (the user is only intended to run out
of browser once, to make these system changes):
1. Detects that it is in OOB mode
2. Checks for the existence of C:\Program Files (x86) (to see if it's a 64-bit system)
4. Creates a COM object (WScript.Shell) and uses shell.RegWrite to write the following Keys
shell.RegWrite(@"HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Silverlight", "");
shell.RegWrite(@"HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Silverlight\AllowInstallOfElevatedTrustApps", 0x00000001, "REG_DWORD");
shell.RegWrite(@"HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Silverlight\AllowLaunchOfElevatedTrustApps", 0x00000001, "REG_DWORD");
shell.RegWrite(@"HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Silverlight\AllowElevatedTrustAppsInBrowser", 0x00000001, "REG_DWORD");
shell.RegWrite(@"HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Silverlight\UpdateConsentMode", 0x00000001, "REG_DWORD");
shell.RegWrite(@"HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Silverlight\Components\", "");
shell.RegWrite(@"HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Silverlight\Components\Debugging\", "");
It does the same keys with Wow6432Node in there as well if it detected 64-bit
5. Downloads the DigiCert.cer file I exported to the Silverlight Isolated Storage and does a shell.Run against it so it pops open
6. Prompts the user to install it to Trusted Root Certificate Authorities
The only other action that I have added onto this process is to add the site to the IE Security Trusted Sites list to get around Protected Mode.
While this all together should be enabling In-Browser Elevation, I have mixed results. On my development machine, Win 8.1 x64 Pro, going to the website (NOT localhost, since that ignores the security requirements) I receive elevation. Going to it inside
the server (Win2008R2) to the website also works. However, my Win7x64 box doesn't get it and another development team member I work with and her Win 8.1 box doesn't work either.
My core questions are:
1. Is there anything obvious I have missed, such as a registry setting, or program setting I need to check/change
2. What specific certificate store should the DigiCert.cer be imported to?
3. What specific certificate should I have exported from my development machine for importing to client machines?
4. Has anyone experienced this issue where everything looks right but only works on some machines?

  • Firefox allows Java Applet with elevated permissions

    I ended up with a virus on Friday when I selected "View" on an HTML attachment from the GMail web interface. The attachment started up java and proceeded to install the malware "Desktop Security 2010" and make changes to my system startup. I'm wondering how this happened and how to prevent it. My java security settings (Java Control Panel->Security->Certificates->Trusted Certificates) only lists Akamai Technologies and JavaFX as trusted certificates. Shouldn't that mean that I get prompted if any one else signs an applet that tries to run outside the sandbox? What else do I need to do to make sure that NO java applets run with elevated permissions?
    I've disabled java via an add-in in the meantime, but what do I need to do to secure my browser properly?
    == This happened ==
    Just once or twice
    == I selected "view" on a virus-infected email attachment in gmail

    Хорошо. Am now able to enter Cyrillic font into my applet. HOWEVER, another issue remains: After pressing enter to process input, new window opens as expected with correct information displaying in window EXCEPT for drop-down menu bar that should display in green square of open window. http://www.lesbaileyev.com/Project/RFvstem.html I will open another suport question for this new development.

  • My browser and email setup is missing and i cant access my balances with any character like"#*"

    can anyone help me plz my browser and email setup is missing and i cant access my balances with any character like"#*" thanks in advance.

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
    For the Browser and Email setup, I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
    KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
    Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Resend Service Books
    KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
    If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
    KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
    Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
    For the # character, are you saying you cannot type that character at any time? Or that you cannot access whatever dialing strings your carrier provides for balances and such?
    In any event, if the above does not work for the Browser and Email, then you must contact your mobile service provider to ensure you are subscribed to, from them, an adequate data plan to enable the services you desire. When you do, you can ask them also about the # key problem.
    Good luck!

  • Jabber for Windows 10.5.1 not working without elevated permissions

    Customer starts Jabber for Windows 10.5.1 and gets a pop-up about CiscoJabber.exe, wbxcOIEx.exe, and wbxcOIEx64 and to contact WebEx support.  It appears these components are talking to Outlook.  Show connection status under Outlook we see a mapi connection error with a code 0x80080005 that goes back to permissions error.
    Users are not local administrators running Windows 7.  Jabber was packaged using LanDesk and deployed to PC and installed with admin rights.
    Workaround was to grant elevated permissions to Jabber folder that had CiscoJabber.exe, wbxcOIEx.exe, and wbxcOIEx64.

  • My office uses windows based computers setup with a server setup. Can an apple server emulate or find compatibility with an apple server or apple computer linked to the server and allow full file sharing and printer sharing with pc's?

    I have 11 computers all pc's linked to an old windows server and all used primarily for microsoft office and printer sharing as well as for internet browsing. Can an apple joining the setup cause compatability issues?

    HI,
    grey-haired IT guy here, old enough to come from the counter culture. I ran (COO, including IT & compliance) a third billion dollar financial institution all on Macs 15 to 20 years ago.  All the "experts" had a long list of reasons it would be impossible, and it drove the examiners nuts, but it's only gotten better.
    So your benefits are going to be mostly in ease of administration after the learning curve, less aggravating glitches, better overall reliability, and arguably better security.  And reductions in cost and improvement in time to implement changes.
    In my current environment of mostly dozens of PCs, the moment I let the OS X Server be the domain master controller, the Windows network browser settled down and instantly showed network neighborhoods like it should have.  (We may have some forgotten pre-NT machines plugged in somewhere -- this is NOT a financial institution).
    Couple anecdotes might explain the feeling of coming in out of the cold:  Putting a test copy of a web site from the cloud onto the Mac server, XAMPP or MAMP is pretty much already there. The site has a couple WordPress blogs, and they need .htaccess files, and Apache needs an option set to permit remapping URLs. After much searching far and wide to find why it didn't seem to be working, I found the checkbox right there on Apple's management screens.  Much easier than editing .conf from command line.  Linux web admins hate it.
    Tale # 2:  We aren't fully Windows domain controlled -- just using the old network browser.  Need to upgrade that, and I Googled quite a while trying to understand what needed to be done to use Apple's Open Directory instead of setting up an Active Directory on Windows -- both SLDAP3.  Turns out one reason I couldn't find much is there isn't much to say:  it just works.  Just join the domain from a Windows machine.
    One more and I'll be quiet a bit.  We use the Wiki collaboration which is nice enough as far as it goes (no spreadsheets, fatal flaw) and it occupies the server's native web site slot.  So the test copy needed to be another site.  Easy enough -- site setup is all GUI and works fine, but WordPress could not handle a multiuser blog coming to a non-standard port (other than 80) so I needed a second IP multihomed on the server.  How do you do this?  Go to Network in the System Prefs, click on the Ethernet interface and select "duplicate".  Set your IP address.  Done.
    In summary a Mac OS X Server is a better server for a Windows shop than Windows Server 200x.
    My bottom line for choosing Apple:  lower blood pressure.  I SHOULD be money.  After all is said and done, it's about money.  The incredibly more pleasant experience is a free benefit.  You'll pay more for better hardware, but way less in time and trouble.  And you won't be hounded on a daily basis to update the system.  Not that Adobe or Firefox are any better about it on a Mac, but the Apple approach to updates stays in the background.
    Think different.  Simplify.  Focus.  Enjoy your work.

  • Permissions problem with new SSD boot drive

    I recently installed an OWC SSD drive as a boot drive on an iMac I've had for many years. I’m having some sort of permissioning error that I can’t figure out how to resolve.
    I’ve setup the SSD as the boot drive (created user named “Boot Admin”). 10.9.3. All data and files remain on my old spinning disk
    When the computer first boots, as expected, I’m presented with 2 users at the login screen (“Boot Admin”; Original User Account). If I choose my old user account, I receive the following error:
    "You are unable to log in to the user account “<name of original user account>" at this time. Logging in to the account failed because an error occurred.”
    If I choose the Boot Admin user I’m able to login without issue as the Boot Admin user (no access to my original apps and data). At that point, I can choose Log Out from the Apple menu and then login using my old user account. When I follow that sequence, I’m able to login with no issues. Apps are there, data is accessible etc. I can enjoy the speed of the SSD.
    Although, if browse within Finder to the Boot Admin user on the hard drive, none of the folders are accessible (the little red icon is on the folders). Similarly, if I boot straight into the Boot Admin user and browse to my original User on the hard drive, none of its folders are accessible!
    I am at a loss on how to troubleshoot. Ideally, I would like to login in directly to my old user account (eliminate the 2 step — login to Boot Admin, log out, login to Original User) and have full file access to things within both the Boot Admin user and my original user account.
    Any guidance or tips on how to troubleshoot? thanks in advance

    I appreciate the continued assistance. I'm clearly overlooking something and Google is not my friend! I've tried.
    At the expense of repeating myself, I'll share my current configuration:
    10.9.3
    2 hard drives (new SSD with name "Boot Drive" and original spinning disk "Macintosh HD")
    Startup Disk in System Preferences is "Boot Drive"
    "Macintosh HD" has 3 User Folders: bootadmin, jayelevy, shared
    jayelevy is my home folder - all my documents are in tact
    bootadmin has the normal home folder structure
    "Boot Drive" has 3 User Folders: bootadmin, jayelevy, shared
    jayelevy is empty; no folders
    bootadmin has the normal home folder structure (Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Movies, etc), but each is empty with the exception of Movies and Pictures. I've moved my Aperture databases to these 2 folders to take advantage of the speed of the SSD
    When I restart the iMac I'm presented with 2 user choices: jayelevy and bootadmin
    If I initially select jayelevy, I receive the error mentioned at the start of the thread
    If I initially select bootadmin, I can login without issue, but get the standard Mac desktop (not my home).
    If I then log out of bootadmin (not restart, but logout) and then choose jayelevy, the signin completes successfully and my desktop/home folder is restored to it's normal and expected condition.
    I am still trying to avoid this step of login/logout/login.
    I imagine I'm overlooking the obvious, but I'm in uncharted grounds for me! Here I thought the hardware swap to replace my optical drive with SSD would be the hard part. That was simple! I've stumbled on the software side!

  • Strange Permissions Behavior with Public/Private Drop Box

    Strange Permissions Behavior with Non-Course Drop Box
    In an effort to promote iTunes U on campus this semester (and to get people working with audio and video more) we're having a contest in which people can submit personal or group audio/video projects.
    This being an iTunes promo, we intend for students to submit their contributions via a drop box.
    To that end, I began experimenting with drop boxes in iTunes U, which I haven't done much of previously. I've created a course called "iTunes U Drop Box Test" under "Campus Events". Within that, I have two tabs: "Featured Submissions" and "Dropbox". My goal with this drop box was to allow faculty, students and college folks the ability to use the drop box ("college" being a role I've defined for those who don't fit into the faculty/student roles).
    When I first started experimenting, access to the "iTunes U Drop Box Test" course looked like this:
    --- Credentials (System) ---
    Edit: Administrator@urn:mace:itunesu.com:sites:lafayette.edu
    Download: Authenticated@urn:mace:itunesu.com:sites:lafayette.edu
    Download: Unauthenticated@urn:mace:itunesu.com:sites:lafayette.edu
    Download: All@urn:mace:itunesu.com:sites:lafayette.edu
    --- Credentials ----
    Download: College@urn:mace:lafayette.edu
    Download: Instructor@urn:mace:lafayette.edu
    Download: Instructor@urn:mace:lafayette.edu:classes:${IDENTIFIER}
    Download: Student@urn:mace:lafayette.edu
    Download: Student@urn:mace:lafayette.edu:classes:${IDENTIFIER}
    For the "Featured" Submissions tab, I gave the non-system credentials the "download" right, and for the "Dropbox" tab I gave the non-system credentials the "dropbox" right.
    My understanding of this setup is that everyone should have had the ability to view the course and the contents of the "Featured Submissions" tab and that those in the College/Instructor/Student roles would be able to upload files via the "Dropbox" tab ... but not see the contents of said tab after the files were uploaded (aside from any files they uploaded themselves).
    This is not the behavior we saw however. While the College/Instructor/Student roles could upload files to the dropbox, everyone (including the unauthenticated public) was able to see all of the contents of the dropbox.
    The only way I could get this to work as advertised was to change all of the system credentials save the "Administrator" to "No Access":
    --- Credentials (System) ---
    Edit: Administrator@urn:mace:itunesu.com:sites:lafayette.edu
    No Access: Authenticated@urn:mace:itunesu.com:sites:lafayette.edu
    No Access: Unauthenticated@urn:mace:itunesu.com:sites:lafayette.edu
    No Access: All@urn:mace:itunesu.com:sites:lafayette.edu
    Once I did this, everything worked as advertised: College/Instructor/Student roles could upload tracks, and the "Dropbox" tab would only display tracks they uploaded.
    So my question is ... is this the correct behavior for the drop box? It looks like when the system credentials are in play, they're simply overriding whatever the normal "view" rule is for the drop box, which doesn't seem right.

    Your current configuration where things work as you wanted does seem correct to me. You are not using any System Credentials to accomplish the functionality and that's fine.
    Here's some more info to clarify how / why this is working for you and why you had to set "No Access" for the System Credentials:
    The System Credential "Authenticated@..." is going to get assigned to any user that goes through your transfer script. Even if you transfer script assigns no credentials to a user, upon entering iTunes U they will have at least 1 - the "Authenticated@..." credential. Therefore, unless you block access using "No Access", any user that passes through your transfer script is going to be able to access the area in question.
    When you change values for "Unauthenticated@..." or "All@..." you are defining what someone that DOES NOT pass through your transfer script can do. You want both of those to be "No Access" at the top level of your site if you do not want unauthenticated visitors.
    The distinction between "Unauthenticated" and "All" is that "All" applies to all users whether they pass through the transfer script or not.
    Here's another way to remember things:
    User passes through your transfer script, iTunes U automatically assigns:
    Authenticated@....
    All@....
    User does not pass through your transfer script and instead access your iTunes U site through derivable URL*, they get assigned:
    Unauthenticated@....
    All@....
    *The derivable URL for a site is: http://deimos.apple.com/WebObjects/Core.woa/Browse/site-domain-name
      Mac OS X (10.4.6)

  • How can we handle browser settings while dealing with the security ?

    Hi ,
    how can we handle browser settings while dealing with the security ?When we configured security in web.xml , during the first request the container is asking for the authentication credentials once they are provided it go's on. but when the user gives a fresh request from the second window within the same browser that time it is not asking for authentication. How can we overcome this.Is there anything to do with server configurations?
    How can we make the container no to keep the things or act like session?

    Ya... I am taking a small example need not happen always but a kind of possibility i am thinking off.
    once the user sign out and just left without closing the browser and a friend (suppose not a good friend ... just kidding...) of that user may open the same jsp or file .This time the security is breached. If that feature or property exists....
    I know what you might say ... the user will log-out before leaving where a programer might invalidate the session at the time of log out.
    Consider the case of a bad Programing or just a programer might forget to invalidate,At that time as a application administrator how can he solve that issue.
    Thanks.......

  • Access denied for folder when permissions set with WMI

    Hi,
    When I add/modify access rights based on the Win32_ACE class, there seems to be a difference in the result, then when setting it with the GUI in Windows.
    The situation is as follow:
    I want to set Modify access on a remote folder, but also want to avoid deletion of the folder itself. This can easily be done by setting "deny delete on this folder only" in addition to "allow modify to this folder, files and subfolders".
    So far no issue.
    Now I notice that, although the GUI shows exactly the same result in advanced settings of the security property, the folder set with WMI script gives a deny when opening it with the user account. The same folder, set with the same security and result in
    the advanced tab, but set in the GUI, works fine.
    Note: The reason that I use WMI is because the remote system is a standalone machine, not sharing the same domain or trust.
    I compared the ACEFlags, AceType and AccessMask for both the GUI set and script set permissions, and they are exactly the same.
    GUI => AccessMask:1179817 AceType:0 iAceFlags:3
    Script => AccessMask:1179817 AceType:0 iAceFlags:3
    What a strange world we live in... :-)
    Any idea?

    What Operating System Interface are you referring?  What program?
    You are being obtuse. What is it that you are trying to compare. THe settings in WMI cannot be directly compared to anything in the Security Wizard.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
    Just the properties of the folder in Windows on the security tab. The result is the same for both the permissions set with the interface as well as the one set with the WMI script. The two references you see are just taken with WMI:
    Set by Windows interface => AccessMask:1179817 AceType:0 iAceFlags:3
    Set by WMI script => AccessMask:1179817 AceType:0 iAceFlags:3
    This are the values "AceFlags", "AceType" and "AccessMask" from management class WIN32_ACE:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa394063(v=vs.85).aspx
    I just want to show that the actual ACE object returns the same values for both methods, but the effect appear to be that the script set permission are denied. And I am looking for the reason why.
    Can you provide the script that you're using to create the ACE(s) and add them? If I'm understanding what you're trying to do, there should be two ACEs created: one to allow the modify access and one to deny the folder deletion. The ACE you're showing is just
    an allow ACE (AceType 0).
    That is correct there are (or should be) two ACEs. I cannot get hold on my source right now (will be later today), but my code is based on this source:
    http://www.minasi.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=7501
    What I basically do is getting the DACL properties, loop through it to check that the user exists that I want to update. If it does I check that the current AceType is of the same type (allow or deny) that I am updating/adding. If that type is a match, I
    replace the ACE object with the new Flag, Type and Mask using a Win32_ACE object. If type type doesn't match, then I add both the current ACE with the new ACE at the same time. I noticed that if I don't do it at the same time, only the last remains. If the
    user doesn't match I check that the AceFlags is not equal to 16 (inherit) and then add the original ACE object in the ACE array. At the end I add the new ACE if the user was not found at all (new). The array of individual ACE objects is added to List of managementobjects
    and then again linked to the DACL value.

  • Smart Card on Elevated Permissions

    I'm setting up a QA Web server on a virtual server and having trouble with the Smart Card (this is in order to upgrade from Win03 to Win12 in production). I've been able to bypass the log on with no issue. I've disabled UAC down to the registry level. However,
    I need to recover my private key on a web certificate. To do so, you use CertUtil -repairstore <serial>. When you do this, it is prompting me to insert a smart card for elevated permission (even though I'm running cmd as admin and logged in as admin).
    I haven't been able to find, anywhere, how I can either bypass this or change the prompt to enter credentials. The only option the smart card prompt offers me is "ok" and "cancel" - since it's a virtual machine (and since I don't have a
    smart card) there is no option for me to insert one. Clicking ok does nothing and clicking cancel causes CertUtil to fail with "access denied" (as I would imagine it would).
    Does anyone know how I can either bypass the smart card prompt or change the prompt to allow for credentials to be entered? I've been Google'ing for days now and feel myself dying a little bit with every search...

  • Successful DSL Setup With Westell 6100G and Linksys WRT54G Router

    After a week of searching I finally figured out how to get DSL setup with my Linksys router.
    All I could get out of the Westell > Linksys router configuration was DSL downloads limited to less than 0.2 Mbps.   No matter what I did on the router settings that was it.    I had a second eHome router that easily configured and achieved the 1.0 Mbps download speeds so that confirmed Verizon and the Westell modem were not the issue.
    So what's wrong with the Linksys router configuration?    I had the Linksys WRT54G router Version 5.   Checking the firmware it was the original release of 1.0.0.   (See your routers instructions which can be downloaded from Linksys for how to check your firmware).   I downloaded the latest firmware version for this router model and version number.    Following the Linksys instructions I flashed the latest firmware 1.02.8.   Now I had an updated modem ready to be configured for DSL.
    Assuming you already followed Verizons instructions to set the Westell modem to bridge mode setup your router to work with it.
    Step 1: Go into the modem typing its address... Default 192.168.1.1   leave the ID blank and the default password is admin.
    Step 2: Go to the Basic > Setup screen.
    Step 3:  Select PPPoE and the screen menus will change
    Step 4:  Enter your Verizon ID  (exclude @Verizon.net)
    Step 5:  Enter your Verizon Password.
    Step 6:  Go to the bottom of the screen and hit Save.   Wait and the router will indicate it was saved.
    That's it.  All you need are the three entries above to get it working.   Turn off the PC, Router and Westell.   Turn on the Westell, then the router and then boot the PC.   It should work at this point.    I now get the full DSL speed for both downloads and uploads.
    The bottom line....check you router, especially the older models for updated firmware before you give up on it.

    Glad top see you found a configuration for your Westell and Linksys to function.  Thanks for posting resolution.

       I still have Photoshop CS6 installed and it still works perfectly. Anyone else with this issue? Is there a driver update for this compatable with my setup?
    OS 10.7.5
    Mac Pro 1,1
    20gb ram
    ATI Radeon HD 5770 Graphics Card
    30" Apple Cinema HD display

    after going round with this Adobe was able to find the fix....opened the "show content" folder for the application Photoshop CC (control click on the application folder) and navigate to the sniffer file and rename it by putting a tilda ~ in front of the name..." ~sniffer ", close and open PhotoshopCC...and voila, problem solved... Thankyou Adobe support

    I'm new to Macbook Pro, and never imagined I would have problems saving bookmarks when I switched to Mac.  Any suggestions with this issue?  I have Safari 6.0.4, and has Apple come up with a permanent fix?

    Triple-click the line below to select it:
    ~/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist
    Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Show Info
    from the contextual menu.* An Info dialog should open.
    Does the dialog show "You can read and write" in the Sharing & Permissions section?
    In the General section, is the box labeled Locked checked?
    What is the Modified date?
    *If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). Open a TextEdit window and paste into it (command-V). Select the line you just pasted and continue as above.

  • Can someone help me with my issue.

    i go to uni which offers wireless network in the library and this is the site http://www.lib.latrobe.edu.au/services/wireless-network.php . since i have no background information with wi fi or all that stuff. so is it possible to use ipod touch for web browsing. so please can someone be kind enough to help me out with my issue.

    Greetings. Yes, I would recommend you speak with your IT folks. We also have wireless in our library. Last year IT secured the network, and it was pretty well locked-down, similar to the way described here. What a pain that was! This year, thankfully, they changed it so all this configuration stuff is happening in the background or on their end. Now all we need is a key to access the network. Once I added the key to my laptop, the network pops-up for me automatically. Very nice!
    All this to second the fact that it might be possible to get into your wi-fi. I don't have a 'touch' yet to test, so I can't confirm that it would work. But I am hopeful. It would be very nice having mobile wi-fi access in the library for searching the catalog and databases!

    Via Javascripting. Look for Flash detection kits at the
    Adobe/Maromedia web
    site and also at Internet search engines.
    As well this forum focuses on database access issues and you
    might find more
    takers for this type of question in the Flash General forum.
