Inbound EDI Message Flow
Hi,
Am using AS2 and OFTP adapter in seeburger and want to understand the inbound flow of messages.
As I have read some blogs and searched couple of entries in SDN, I want to make sure whether my understandings are correct.
The big doubt in my mind is the starting point of an seeburger Inbound message. When an EDI Message comes into seeburger which communication channel does the following jobs
Classifier
Mapping
Splitting
And after splitting it forwards the message to the Split997 and in turn it identifies the proper sender agreement.
But am more confused on the starting point like any scenario will have a sender communication channel to pick up the seebyrger messages. Which one is it?
Can anyone explain me the configuration part alone? I have already gone through Prateek seeburger scenario and got most of the things clarified.
When an EDI Message comes into seeburger which communication channel does the following jobs
This could be any communication channel. If your partner support OFTP or As2 protocol, it would be AS2 sender or OFTP sender communciation channel. Inside these channels only, you will add the modules.
Suppose your sender side sends a simple EDI file using FTP, then you may use standard File sender adapter and add these modules to it.

Hello B2B Gurus,
I am able to process B2B inbound files successfully from Trading Partner --> B2B --> BPEL. When it comes to BPEL i am not able to parse/transform the received XML as i am getting selection failures in assign and empty nodes in transformation. When i look at the input XML payload which i received in ReceiveB2BConsume Payload i observed that i am getting namespace as " xmlns="NS_495C37A0921C418BB66A86A6E75B2CA120070312140549" instead of actual namespace xmlns="urn:oracle:b2b:X12/V4010/856" which is in my XSD as well and i am getting the XML start tag <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?> 2 times. :

I went back and checked the XSD which i loaded in the B2B Console and i am having the following namespace
"<xsd:schema xmlns="urn:oracle:b2b:X12/V4010/856" targetNamespace="urn:oracle:b2b:X12/V4010/856" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" version="1.0" elementFormDefault="qualified">"
I am not sure why the XML translated from EDI in B2B console has the different namespace and XML start tag 2 times. Can you please help me resolve the issue. Let me know if i am missing anything.

Please set property as b2b.setDynamicNameSpace=false.
To use EDI ecs and xsd files from Oracle B2B 10g version, set this property to true.
When using EDI ecs and xsd files in Oracle B2B 11g which were used in Oracle B2B 10g, the XEngine may generate dynamic namespace for the translated xml. For example,
xmlns="NS_31CA8D0F33324F95A0BF15D85539C27E20060518215520"
To turn off dynamic namespace generation for inbound EDI messages, set this property to false.

Custom delimiters in inbound EDI
Hello All,
Can the SAP B2B Add-On and its Converter Modules handle custom delimiters in case of inbound EDI Message.
We have scenarios where partners can choose to use their own delimiters.
Does the Converter Modules handle them automatically or there is a place to configure these delimiters.
I guess for the outbound EDI, the custom delimiters can be set in the mapping and converter module produces the EDI output accordingly.

In the ISA segment , we have
first field - D_DATAELEMENTSEPARATOR
16th field- Component Element Separator and
17th- D_SEGMENTTERMINATOR
There are a few restrictions on choosing custom delimiters.
1) special (escape) character of length =1
2) should not be an alphanumeric character
3) not an ASCII symbol whose hex value is out of range (hex length > 3)
All such exceptions are handled by x12 converter at conversion level.
Your EDI file can have control characters eg. NAK (which are not valid for an XML representation in the PI box)
but this again is handled at converter level it eliminates the control character and treats it as default

Error in inbound processing: EDI message - XML Gateway
Hello!
I've setup a DELFOR transaction in B2B and modified XML Gateway settings for internal delivery channel in order to send the message to EBS, but I'm getting weird errors in b2b.log. (XML Gateway in EBS is not setup yet, but it should't be an issue since incoming errors are handled in EBS, and I would just see an inbound transaction with processing errors in Transaction Monitor.)
In the beginning of b2b.log I see this:

Error repeats a few times.
Wire message stays in Processing status, Business message is errored and an exception message is created in ip_in_queue.
Both remote and host delivery channels have retry set to 1. Agreement was re-deployed + all B2B restared, but the problem remained.
Could anyone help with this? What could be wrong?

1. Yes, this is the 1st time for B2B, but the EBS I'm trying to connect to is up and running for approx. 2 years (it's a test instance).
2. Patching was done by the customer's sysadmin, so I don't really have an overview on what and how he did. Result of opatch:

3. In theory the sysadmin should have run it, but how could I double-check this?
I know he had problems while applying patch 8298731, but he said it was solved later. (Customer is using windows os, which is making a lot of troubles otherwise.)
Regarding IDC log there is no success. I've restared B2B at least 5 times plus once the database, but still nothing. In tip.properties:
oracle.tip.adapter.b2b.transportTrace = C:\APPS\OAS\ip\log/transport.trc
also I tried the following values:
C:\\APPS\\OAS\\ip\\log/transport.trc (since there is a similar entry: oracle.tip.LogDirectory = C:\\APPS\\OAS\\ip\\log)
C:\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\APPS\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\OAS\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ip\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\log/transport.trc (this was commented before; maybe it comes from some default)
true (I had no other idea)
Result is the same for all the cases: b2b_idc_transport.log file is 0 bytes, but b2b_dc_transport.log has initial data+writes log when processing.
If I remove or comment the above line from tip.properties, then no transport log files are created.
I've updated the agreement to have B2B inbound for the internal delivery channel, re-deployed it and it worked fine -> transaction(s) appeared in IP_IN_QUEUE.
Changing it back to XML Gateway (and re-deploying) causes all original problems.

EDI messages for ASN and POD - general flow
Hi,
We are looking to send an Advance Shipping Notification Idoc / EDI message to our customer as we despatach and they will send a Proof Of Delivery EDI message to us confirming receipt and quantities.
Am I right in saying that the customer MUST take our delivery item numbers and refer to them with the POD message so that we know which item they are refering to? I think they should otherwise we won't know which item they are referring to. On the other hand I cannot see customers being interested in our item numbers.
Any experience on this?

You are right that the customer wants a referene number and therefore the delivery number can be used ... so when the POD comes back the delivery number will be referenced ... but my issue is with the items in the delivery
We could have items 900001, 900002 etc and each of these need to be referenced in the POD. So the custoomer woudl need to reference these which I dont think they are likely to do.
I also suspect I am wrong .. but when I try the POD IDOC with WE19 test tool I have to enter the item number .. so either the customer has to send it or we have to do some ABAP to identify the item somehow I think?

Message type for Inbound SD EDI message : Sales Order Confirmation
Hi,
There is an EDI message coming into SAP for sales order confirmation post delivery.
The data in the Idoc should then proceed to update the system and create the delivery document.
I need a standard Message Type which when triggered, will perform the above actions.
Will ORDRSP Message type be useful here.

Goods Receipt in PO AND Message Flow Update in Inb. Delivery using WMMBXY

We have a stock transport order (PO) for which we create an inbound delivery. The despatch advice (EANCOM D96A DESADV) is sent to our logistics partner who returns the same EDI message with the received quantities (goods receipt).
Using the inbound IDoc WMMBID02.WMMBXY I have successfully posted the goods receipt for the original PO. However, the message flow in the delivery is not updated. When we post the goods receipt (transaction MIGO) in dialog for the delivery we see the GR in the message flow.
I have used the following values with the segments of WMMBID02.WMMBXY (SAP release = 4.6c):
E1MBXYH:
Reference = <number of delivery>
Transaction code = 'MIGO'
E1MBXYI:
Movement type = '101'
Purchasing doc. = <number of PO>
Item = <Item no. in PO>
Movement ind. = 'B'
I am not sure about the correct movement indicator but failed when using a value different from 'B':
The movement indicator is derived from the transaction code.
Permitted values:
'' Goods movement w/o reference
'B' Goods movement for purchase order
'F' Goods movement for production order
'L' Goods movement for delivery note
'K' Goods movement for kanban requirement (WM - internal only)
'O' Subsequent adjustment of "material-provided" consumption

QUESTION: Does anybody know if and how inbound WMMBID02.WMMBXY can be used for both the goods receipt in the purchase order AND the message flow in the inbound delivery?

Validated Agreement, but could not deploy as I was getting AIP-11016 SQL error , may be integrity constraint issue
Note: I was able to deploy this agreement if I change the Document Type from 210 to something else like 210_new, but since the document is EDI I can’t have the Document Type as anything except 210Ramesh,

When group Receiver ID didn't match

In addition, when Interchange Receiver ID did not match
"Validation of Interchange parameters failed. Please verify all the Interchange parameters in the B2B configuration match the Group parameters in the message. Make sure that the ecs file for this Interchange is valid"

I created a idoc to abap proxy for the xi adapter i used http destination with my destination defined in sm59.
In sxbm_moni i get the error:
LOOP_IN_MESSAGE_ROUTING
Loop in message flow found: system is.00.metsapxd, pipeline CENTRAL with inbound adapter XI already processed
Anyone know how to fix the error?

I think your end business system i.e. where proxy exists -- this application system is configured as "integration engine/HUB". Try to keep it as (SXMB_ADM -> Integration engine configuration) type of business system as "applicaiton system" instead of integration engine/server.

Hi Experts,
We are using SAP PI 7.0 with AS2 System (Seeburger) in Quality System to exchange EDI Documents with our Customers and 4PL partners. We are able send EDI Documents (Outbound) to our partners successfully but facing issues related to Inbound EDI Documents (Incoming) i.e., when customers/4PL Partners are trying to send the EDI Documents it is not reaching to our Test System.
We thought it could be Web Dispatcher issue and restarted it but that didn’t solve the issue. In XI system no changes have been made in IR and ID. Below is the error message our partner is getting while sending the EDI Documents.
Response: "400 Connection Failed (VLProxy.java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect)"
Result "Error""400 Connection Failed (VLProxy.java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out:connect)" Source file not deleted

I have to agree with Harish regarding the Connection Timeouts. To verify if the incoming AS2 requests reach the AS2-Server or already have some issues on network-level, I would recommend to take a look at the AS2-Trace (and set the trace-level to debug)

Did it work before and suddenly stopped working or are you just setting up this connection initially ?

SXMB_MONI is not showing any messages flow
Hi,
I am sending a request through SOAP adapter to SAP system. My scenario is executing fine. One strange thing I have seen is, in RWB, Message Monitoring I can see my outbound message and inbound message but in component monitoring I cannot see my SOAP adapter and RFC adapter are active.
Note: one more thing is I can not see anything in SXMB_MONI; no message flow is showing
Can any one tell me whats happening?you need to have entry in SXMB_ADM entry in our XIserver

probably you have 2 options: the traditional MFL

- Inbound message
- Receiver determination
- Interface determination
- Receiver grouping (in case if receiver are more then one)
- Message branch according to receiver list (in case if receiver are more then one)
- Request message mapping
- Technical routing
-Call Adapter
-Response
message comes in the server and depending upon the request of client this is directed to ABAP Stack or Java stack By ICM.

The steps involved in XI message flow are below.
1.Receiver Identification - Determines which system to participate in an exchange with the incoming message.
2.Interface Determination - For each receiver system determines which interfaces should receive a message.
3.Message Split - If multiple receivers are found, XI will instatiate a new message for each receiver.
4.Message Mapping - Call the mapping program to transfer the message structure to the receiver format.
5.Technical routing - Bind a specific destination and protocol to the message.
6.Call adapter. Send the transformed message to the adapter or proxy.
