Incorrect agent assignment from webdynpro

Hi!
User2 approved an overtime claim in universal worklist. When i go to completed tasks of user2 to check the OT that was just approved, it doesnt show. I noticed that the actual agent assignment is different. The actual agent was user1 (requestor) where it should be user2 (approver). How is this possible?

Are you using the standard workflow template WS18900023 to get approval for the claims. If this is the case and you want to determine or check why the agents are populating wrong then you need to check the function module HRXSS_IN_CL_APP_OVERVIEW try to insert a break point in this function module and check what are all the agents are getting populated.
If you want to debug at the employee end or initiator level then make use of the function module HRXSS_IN_CL_EMP_OVERVIEW
You can find what are all the agents populated in the agents container element.
Can you please let me know are you using or copied any standard workflow to meet the requirement.
Also check the functin modules HRXSS_IN_CL_EMP_ACTION and HRXSS_IN_CL_APP_ACTION

In transaction PFTC_CHG I'm trying to Delete Agent Assignment (Shift + F2), the screen simply refreshes and the action is not performed - the user is not deleted from the Demo Workflows parent folder? I'm not sure how to change or remove this entry? Authorisations check out fine.

Delete incorrect settype assignment from Hierarchy/Category

Hi Friends,
Iam working in CRM 7.0. When I go COMM_HIERARCHY transaction, I have a Z Hierarchy ID (ZHIERARCHY), and in this I have a Z Category ID (ZCATEGORY). In the settype tab, there is a settype assigned, which got assigned incorrectly. Iam not sure how this got assigned to the Category ID. This looks like a GUID.
Now I need to correct the settype assignment. I tried,
1. Deleting the incorrect settype assignment in the COMMM_HIERARCHY transaction. It throws a dump saying "settype does not
exist"
2. Add the correct settype with out deleting the incorrect settype. It does not save and gives an error "settype does not exist".
How to solve this issue?

How are agents assigned from approval_table to workflow?

For N-step approval badi,the approvers are populated in the table approval_table.Can any one help me in understanding how the approvers are taken from this table and assigned to the workflows?

Debugging is not working in R/3 from WebDynpro-ABAP developed webpage input

Dear Friends,
We are facing a serious problem for debugging. Expecting valuable input for the same.
Debugging is not working in R/3 from WebDynpro-ABAP developed webpage input in Production Server.
The debugging (for WebDynpro-ABAP application) is working in Dev. Server for
1st ] Within R/3
Ex. debug for bapi within R/3. i.e. value enter as input in R/3 only.
2nd ] From webpage to R/3
Ex. Some input given on the internet web page developed through WebDynpro and external breakpoint set in R/3 it works. It directs to R/3 code through debugging.
In Prod. Server the 1st case above is working but the 2nd case is not working.
In Prod. Server the WebDynpro developed applications are running successfully through internet explorer webpage inputs. So running the application is not a problem in prod. Server but debugging of the same is the problem.
The setting which are done in Prod. server are,
1] RZ10 in parameters are set for port and host name.
2.1] In SMICM check for ICM.
2.2] Host file updated in Windows-System 32.
3] In SICF following services are active,
3.1] default_host/sap/bc/webdynpro
3.2] default_host/sap/public/bc
3.3] default_host/sap/public/bc/webdynpro/viewdesigner
3.4] default_host/sap/bc/wdvd
3.5] default_host/sap/public/icman
3.6] default_host/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui
3.7] default_host/sap/public/ping
3.8] default_host/sap/bc/error
3.9] default_host/sap/bc/echo
4] In SE80
4.1] Internet services-System-are published
4.2] Internet services-WEBGUI-are published
4.3] Utilities-Setting-ABAP Editor-Debugging-Username & New Debugger set.

Changes in Customizing for agent assignment do not transport well

Hi,
We have made changes in some tasks regarding agent assignment (we select the option 'General Task' in the Attributes button). This generates a Customizing request.
After releasing these 2 requests (Customizing and Workbench), we transport them from Development to Test. But when checking the new workflow in Test, the Customizing modifications regarding agent assignment do not occur.
We have tried the two possible sequences of transporting the requests: first Customizing and then Workbench, then the other way, with same results.
Is there any specific order that should be followed to correctly transport Customizing and Workbench requests?

Our wf doesn´t use organizational structure, but checking the transport logs as you suggested (that´s what I should've done first!), has shown an error of type 12 in the last Customizing requests we have sent.
The log error's header says
'Method execution 08.09.2006 16:01:39 (12) Canceled',
Going to the details,
'Execution of programs after import (XPRA)'
'Ended with return code: ===> 12 <==='
There is also one Workbench request with the same type of error.

In a Real time project what would be the agent assignment attribute setting

Dear Experts,
I have never worked on a workflow project. I have been only practising workflow on a IDES system. I would like to know in a real live production system what settings do we use when we define the agent assignment at the task level? Do we set the attribute as GENERAL TASK always?
To be more specific as in the task attributes we have many options like
GENERAL TASK
GENERAL FORWARDING ALLOWED,
GENERAL FORWARDING NOT ALLOWED AND
FORWARDING NOT ALLOWED.
From the first three options which is most generally used in a real time projects?
AND
is it necessary to always set the attribute as GENERAL TASK before transporting the workflow definition to other systems from the development system?

It depends on the requirement, but in most of the cases we assign the task as general task.
To have some more information on the various attributes,
·        General task
If you define a task as a general task, all users can execute the task. This is useful if the task is used in a workflow and you only want to define the recipients in the step definition. A recipient can forward associated work items to all users.
Work items whose tasks are defined as general tasks and for which no responsible agents or default rules are defined are offered to all users of the SAP System for execution in their Business Workplaces.
·        General forwarding allowed
A work item that represents a task with this property can be forwarded by one of its recipients to all users, even if they are not possible agents of the task.
·        General forwarding not allowed
A work item that represents a task with this property can be forwarded by one of its recipients only to the possible agents of the task.
·        Forwarding not allowed
A work item that represents a task with this property cannot be forwarded by one of its recipients.

Passing values to an InternalTable in a Function Module from WebDynpro

I have created a model from a function module that has a internal table.I have assigned the value as a String to the datamodel context element of the internal table as a Line in the node that represents the input for the funtion module.The internal table accepts a value as an input.When i call the execute method on the input node i am not able to pass the value from the Webdynpro to the function module.I have also checked the assignment of the value as a String to the datamodel context element of the internal table as a Line in the node that represents the input for the funtion module and the value was assigned.
If you can provide me any info on how to pass the internal table from Webdynpro to the function module will be very helpful ..???

what u can pass to a function module is the parameter which are in import and tables of RFC .so u have to declare a variable as a type of your internal table which may be type of structure or table. then in your RFC u have to copy that into a variable of function module and go for ur logic ...

Adobe Form Layout is not loading from webdynpro

Hi Experts,
I am not getting the layout for Adobe forms from webdynpro.If i click the layout tab an error is poping:
"Error while opening the document"-Message no.SOFFICEINTEGRATION143
When i checked the diagnosis it is stated as:An error occured in the desktop application while opening a document.
Please help me to solve this issue.

Agent Assignment Doesn't work For Some Users

Hi all,
In OOCU_RESP there are four agents in a responsibility. But only one (say A) of the four gets tasks in Inbox. The other three (say B, C, D) get nothing.
I removed A from the responsibility and B, C, D still get nothing. In SWIA the log shows no agent assigned. But in SWI2_DIAG there is no error info.
In OOCU_RESP, Simulate rule resolution, i can get all 4 agents assigned.
I feel like there is something wrong with B, C, D's SAP account settings. But I have no clue what it can be. Advise please!

Please check the Agent Assignment settings of the task used for sending the WI to the users. Is the task set to General task or specific agents are listed there?
PFTC->Supply the Task-> Additional Data -> Agent Assignment
Also, check if these agents are listed in Excluded agents in the Workflow Step.

Agent Assignment for tasks

Hi,
i have created a ECM WF.
Now i wanna do d "Agent Assignment"
Requrement is if User A checks the ECR then User B shud approve it.
If user X checks the ECR then User Y shud approve it and so on.
Thus my requirement is Hierarchy based i.e. depending on the departments hierarchy.
Can anybody tell me how to achieve this.

If your requirement is in such a way that....
for user X .... user Y is the approver
for user A..... user B is the approver,
then you can use the concept of Rule with responsibilities where in which you can find the approver based on a particular condition. The documentation to create the same can be found from the link below from help.sap.com

Agent assignment procedure

Dear Experts,
I have made agent assignment in my workflow. But when I transport the workflow from development to quality server I see that I have to manually enable agent assignment by making tasks as general. Is this the right way to make tasks or general in each server or can it be handled via any transport request. Please let me know the best procedure for making tasks as general.

This is because the Agent assignment is client dependent, so you have one more option to come over this try to do like below.
1. OPen Txn RE_RHMOVE30 and mention the Plan version as 01 and Object as TS/WS TS - Standard task WS - Workflow template, mention the object key as the ID's of the task and templates.
2. Select the check box Transport Objects at the botton of the screen and disable the Check boxes test and with Lock.
3. Click F8, select all the entires and then click on the button Transport then system will prompt for a customizing req. please select the request and then again select all check boxes of all the entries and then select all entires in the list and then click the button transport & Delete.
so now what you can do is yu can port this request to other system, once it is ported the agent assignment is also made general
but before doing all the aobve activities make sure in the Dev system you made all the tasks and templates as general , other wise there will no use of performing the above steps.

Multiline Processing and Agent Assignment

I have a multiline container element that I am using in a subflow. I want the subflow to execute for each line in the multiline container.
The objects in the multiline element are, in fact, the agent ids. I am not sure of how to identify a single entry in the container in the sub flow to set the agent.
I am using this basic syntax for the expression in the agent assignment:
multilineContainerElement(index).
Is there a way to bind a single line of the mutliline element to a single instance in the activity ---> subworkflow binding?

you can achieve ur purpose by inserting Loop(until) into the workflow
till the execution take place for each and every id loop will continue ,more over for binding the multiline element you can bind the same with comaptible container in the workflow.
can u provide some details what is the nature of that multiline container that you have created ,i mean what u have given for the data structure.
and whats the purpose of using that multilione element thats a local or a global container and as fara as i think u r trying to send some mail or notification to the agent id u r retrieveing from ur container,is it or else.
its pretty simple probs if u give some details it will be sorted out easily

Held PO triggering workflow and agent assignment to myself

Is there a way where I can prevent held documents from triggering my workflow?
How can I achieve the following 2 scenarios for agent assignment:
1) Create PO and workitem route back to myself
2) Release PO and workitem route back to myself

If you are a User01, then You started the process like if you are creating the PO, then the workflow is getting triggered. So now you are the initiator of the process, and in WF_inititor will be hold your user name user01.

I am having two doubts.I am new to workflow.Thai is my first development.

In one activity i am using one method inside that FM that convert the report to PDF and sent it to user for approval using FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 .For every level i am using this activity to sent the file to user in that level,my doubt is how to assign the agent to RECEIVER_list in FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 Dynamically for every level.
Give me some idea ,.
2.In sent mail step i want to sent a mail to 5 person ,i dont know how to sent.

I have faced the same problem in my previous project. Let me explain how i did.
If a employee creates "SALARY ADVANCE" it has to go to 7(MAX) levels of approval based upon the amount that the employee is asking for and based upon the employee subgroup.
I have created a FM in which i am checking this condition and i have created table (to hold the approvers). When i call this FM inside the method, it will create a multi-line container and the import parameter is the employees SAP user id and the Amount what he is asking for.
Get the approvers from HRP1001 based upon the selection crietria.
You can use this too.
