Incorrect Storage Location (CMX)

Dear Experts,
Delivery ABC for material CALXXX is used. For some reason the St Loc on the delivery is 0100, when it should be 0200.That is the reason why the shipment could not be PGId. Since this is not the first time we have this issue, what we are going to do is to manually update the delivery to st loc 0200 so the shipment can be PGId.
My question is can we update the delivery to sloc 0200 automatically and whether we can see from where the the storage location information is picked up from?

The storage location used for picking assigned via the following path determined
SPRO > Logistics Execution > Shipping > Picking > Determine Picking Location > Assign Picking Locations - saw the set up too.
Could you please tell me why SAP triggers a st loc 0100 on the delivery where it is configured for 0200 sloc? This is the reason why the shipment was not PGId. manual updation was done for the delivery to st loc 0200 so the shipment can be PGId. This is where I wanted to understand how it can be done?

Incorrect Storage Location Detemined in Production Order

Hi There,
When convert planned order to Production order, storage location is determined for component material.
Till 4.7 system, we see that the system was following below sequence for determination storage location:
1)     Storage location set into BOM item
2)     Storage location determined by WC.
3)     Storage location set into material master.
However, in the upgraded ERP 6.0 system we see that the above sequence is not followed any more.
1)     Storage location determined by WC.
2)     Storage location set into material master.
3)             Storage location set into BOM item
Is our understanding correct? How can be bring back the old sequence?

Hi Anish,
The issue is that in earlier system it was '2' as well, still the storage location was taken from BOM.
But, in ERP 6.0 it is not taken from BOM.
We do not want to change the master data for this purpose, but need a reason why SAP has changed this behaviour?

Storage location change in Inbound delivery

Hello Friends,
Inbound delivery created through confirmation control EDI process from our customer and it has a incorrect storage location. We cannot change the storage location though it is editable. (After changing it is going back to incorrect storage location which is not existing in that plant).
the storage location in the purchase order is correct. could not able to understand how the inbound delivery is updated with incorrect SLOC and it is not allowing us to change.
Appreciate any pointers to resolve this issue.

As Joao said it is a custom code but now I ended up in another problem. the entire delivery is not changeable as deleted the delivery quantity while trying out to change the SLOC.
is there any way to update the delivery quantity back,
material freight group is only editable in the delivery item. pls advise

Hi,
Transferring Material stock from One Storage location to another doesnot generate any accounting entries / documents. So, you can transfer the storage location stock to correct storage location using MB1B 311or 313 & 315 (Two step Transfer) movement type.

Storage location missing or incorrect Message no. L3432

Hi,
Previously the item we want to zero-in is under warehouse number WH1 under let's say plant 1000-storage location 1010. However this plant 1000 storage location 1010 was later on assigned to a new warehouse number WH2. During the migration period, this item was forgotten to be moved in the system from WH1 to WH2. Hence, we are trying to correct the quantity in WH1 now. However, when we try to post the count using LI11N, it is giving me Storage location missing or incorrect. How do we solve this?
If you have other suggestion on how to correct the quantity in WH1, please let me know. Thank you.

Could you please perform the below steps?
1) Transaction SE51
Program SAPML03T, Screen number 0101 -> Element list -> Change
2) Select Tabstrip 'Special attr.', position the cursor on field LTAP-LGORT
and mark 'SET' parameter' and 'GET parameter'. Finally generate the screen.
Check this settings in your system and re-test.

I am fetching data from mc.9 in my program but if the use enter multiple storage in selection only 1st value is printed following is code and how will i come to know which material is for which storage location since mc.9 data is not getting stored anywhere

I simulated the code given by you and all the storage locations are being populated in the backed.
You can check this by putting a breakpoint at the below code in RMCB0300 and checking the value of sl_lgort[]. You will receive the number of SLOC inputs provided.
AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT.
FLG_FOUND = FALSE.
PERFORM SPEZIAL_AT_SELECTION_SCREEN_O IN PROGRAM (LIS_PROGNAME)
                                        CHANGING FLG_FOUND
                                        IF FOUND.
This is a data issue and you may not have any records for the selected input.

Just to add on to the inputs....
Ensure that the USERTEMP1 buffer is cleared before a value is entered. We faced this issue wherein the previous S.Loc value was left as it is in the USERTEMP1, resulting in an incorrect assignment.
I also suspect that you might need to run the process of identifying the enhancement point and populating the S.Loc value into the memory and then to USERTEMP1 for different transactions separately. Not sure if this is the standard process, but atleast we did it that way.
For eg, we faced issues during Goods Issue from MIGO, as also during 301, 309 and 311 movement types. So execute these transactions too once the development is done and if the USERTEMP1 field isnt getting populated..
FMDERIVE TRACE was the most important tool during our tryst with S.Loc mapping into USERTEMP1....Ensure that you set it everytime during testing for this S.Loc, post development

Making Storage Location field mandatory in Work Order

Hi
As per our proces, if PR is created from work order and if there is no storage location in work order then PO will have warehouse address as a shipping address. So it is expected that PR must have storage location details when it is created from work order to avoid incorrect shipping address in PO.
So, I want to make storage location field mandatory in components tab of work order.
Also I want to avoid the users to deliberately removing the storage location and making it blank.

PO number not displaying for STO PO between storage locations in VL10B

Hi Experts
I have created a STO PO for stock transfer between 2 storage locations.
The PO has been created correctly - along with the "Shipping" details aptly.
However, when I execute VL10B along with the PO, the output screen doesn't show the PO created.
I have checked various discussions and verified the same. However, I am unable to create the outbound delivery for the PO.
Please help me on this.

Remove everything from the selection screen (including shipping point and delv. date). Just put the PO in the Purchase Order tab. Check all the other tabs, material, user role etc for extraneous/incorrect info.
Does the PO appear then?

MB5B Movment type and storage location is reset

When I run the report MB5B with radio button "valuated Stock" active for a specific Plant and Movement Type, I get a Message "Movement Type is reset" and then the entered Movement Type disappears from the selection criteria.
However the report does not give me this message when the radio button "Storage Location/ Batch Stock" is active.

I am facing the problem as said in the thread.
My two queries are as follows:
Query 1: In MB5B report When we select the valuated stock option ,We are unable to use movement type , storage location in the selection criteria nad getting the below messages.
M7284 - Storage location is reset.
M7298 - Movement type is reset .
Query 2 :In MB5B report total receipts and total issues is showing incorrect values.
Here say for example I prepared the grn, cancelled the grn and again made the grn. Here total receipts is considering in such a way that all the grn quantities are considered. and cancelled documents are considered as issues.
ie have received material = 100 Nos 01-12-2009
cancelled grn:100 Nos
Redo grn:100 Nos
Done transfer posting 415 Q = 10 nOS = 02-12-2009
Issued = 10 nos = 02-12-2009
In mB5B 01-12-2009 to 02-12-2009
We are getting Opening stock= 0 which is correct
Total receipts = 100(GRN IST TIME)+100(GR SECOND TIME) +10(TRANSFER POSTING)=210
Total issues = 100(CANCEL GRN)10(TRANSFER POSTING)10(GOODS ISSUE) =120
Closing stock = 90(CORRECT)
Here actual recipt: should be 100
actual issue should be 10
Here though the closing stock is correct , 415 transfer posting is considered as issue and receipt.Becoz of this total issues quantity report is going wrong.
Please give your valuable suggestions to the above two problems seperately.

Auto-copy putaway quantity in Inbound for Non-WMS storage location

Dear All SAP Gurus,
I need to create an inbound delivery document for non-WM managed storage location and "copy" the quantity into the "putaway quantity" field automatically. Is there any setting to do this automatic assignment? As far as I know, if the storage location is non-WM managed, we usually need to manually enter the putaway quantity as part of the verification process during the PGR (goods receipt).

Function module does not update the storage location in delivery

I've been trying to use SD_DELIVERY_UPDATE_PICKING to update the storage location in SD return deliveries, without any success. Any clues? The FM works fine when it comes to updating the picking quantity, but the storage location issue still persists.

AzCopy error "The destination azure storage location type cannot be inferred"

I'd like to try out Microsoft Azure File Service.
I created a storage account with File Service support. I created a File Share. I was able to mount this File Share using "net use" from my Azure VM. I can manage files from this VM.
Now I'd like to copy files from my home computer.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Azure>AzCopy /Source:c:\mydir /Dest:https://myendpoint.file.core.windows.net/myshare1/ /DestKey:%key% /S
I get an error:
[2015.02.21 11:08:21][ERROR] The syntax of the command is incorrect. The destination azure storage location type can not be inferred. Use /destType:blob to specify the location type explicitly.

AzCopy version 2.4 now supports moving your local files to Azure files and back. Please check if the AzCopy version is 2.4 or higher.
In addition, empty folders will not be uploaded. Please make sure that the source you defined is not an empty folder.

Storage Locations Vs Plants

Dear Experts,
An appealing business case is to move to a world where locations currently set-up as "plants" (inventory managed but necessarily WM managed), can be mapped as "overflow" storage" locations as that indeed is the physical "truth".
Now given I am talking of a productive system with SD,MM,PP, LE, WMS, APO SNP, CTM are implemented, what all considerations do I need to keep in mind before fiddling with such a drastic change..
I can only think of some repurcussions..basis general and intuitive understanding of ECC-APO integration, but nevertheless this is a major change that needs systematic evaluation of all side effects. The case for benefits is simplicity, ease of planning, reducing number of "plannable" locations (on which MRP and CTM - supply distribution is run)
Example of the supply chain model
- I have a "site" that has 10 plants making 50 products not necesarily unique. e.g. 2 plants making same stuff, 2 others making some other stuff, one dedicated to one material etc. (no case of one plant making 2 products)
-I have storage locations that are currently (incorrectly) are used to manage "quality" status of stocks e.g. 0001 means good, 0002 means on hold, 0003 means near expired etc.
-I have WMS warehouses mappping to plants. not necessarily unique e.g. 5 plants and 3 storage locations is one warehouse and another 5 plants and 3 stoarge location is another warehouse. The need for warehouse is based on material groups needing different ambient stoarge conditions
-I have CTM implemented with quotas, rules and lanes defined from these plants to customer locatons.
-I have MRP being done on manufacturing plants (for procurement) with some storage locations being excluded
-I have SNP planning (for deployment) in supply network based on net requirements at plants (distribution centers)
-I have distribution plants with its own storage locations using stor locs to managae quality status of stocks
-I hire third party warehouses as needed and also defined as plants (DC's) that also has storage locations for managing quality status.
I am looking forward to some feelers and scare factors that such a replacement of plants to storage locations may entail. Obviously it means a lot of things.. changes to valution, WMS,pegging, CTM results etc.
Let me know if you want me to elaborate more on business context. Also please re-assure if such a change to a productive system is at all advisable plus any SAP warnings.. I browsed but didnt find much on such a "re-engineering" exercise.
