Incorrect Storage Location Detemined in Production Order

Hi There,
When convert planned order to Production order, storage location is determined for component material.
Till 4.7 system, we see that the system was following below sequence for determination storage location:
1)     Storage location set into BOM item
2)     Storage location determined by WC.
3)     Storage location set into material master.
However, in the upgraded ERP 6.0 system we see that the above sequence is not followed any more.
1)     Storage location determined by WC.
2)     Storage location set into material master.
3)             Storage location set into BOM item
Is our understanding correct? How can be bring back the old sequence?
Thanks in advance for your support.
Kind Regards,
Prakash

Hi Anish,
The issue is that in earlier system it was '2' as well, still the storage location was taken from BOM.
But, in ERP 6.0 it is not taken from BOM.
We do not want to change the master data for this purpose, but need a reason why SAP has changed this behaviour?
Regards,
Prakash

How to change the line item storage location during the sales order creatio

    Hi Kumar,
I think you can just delete it in the sales order directly, if you are using make-to-order scenario, then there will be special stock left for the sales order as the production has been goods receipt, you need to use MM transaction move the stock to unrestricted use stock. If you are using make-to-stock scenario, there should be no further problem. If you are using assembly order, please try to reject the sales order item to see if it could fullfill your requirement.

  • Re: ATP check at storage location level in sales order.

    Hi ,
I have a requirement wherein storage location is determined in my sales order,  the ATP check is done at plant level as well as storage location level , and the smaller of the two quantities is taken as the result of the ATP check.
My requirement is that the ATP check should only be performed at storage location level .
Please suggest if there is any standard setting available in SAP.
iF NO , PLEASE SUGGEST SUITABLE USER EXIT, WHERE I can add my requirement.
    Regards,
    Nilesh

    Hi Nilesh,
in SAP standard the system is always checking on plant level first and then on the storage location level, there is no possibility to change this behaviour.
I'm also not sure if the process is correct, because if you have also requirements on plant level only then you would create negative ATP if you confirm on storage location level even though there is no ATP on plant level.
I'm also not aware of a user-exit that would suite your requirement, additionally according to the IMG documentation the user-exits in the availability check area should only be carried out in agreement with SAP.

  • Storage location missing in purchase order

Hi all, I'm struggling to find why the storage location is not copied from purchase requisition to purchase order using ME21n.
Further this happens only for one buyer, the same PR's if converted in PO by other buyers, move correctly storage locations to PO.
Only for one buyer the storage location comes up blank and he has to populate manually the field.
I've checked his SAP profile and it's perfectly the same of all other buyers. Also he hasn't any particular personal settings in his ME21n.
Apparently there aren't reason why it should happen but it does.
Also searching on the web I haven't found any documentation or any other SAPer with the same issue
Can someone give me some suggestion?
    thanks
    Luca

There are 3 reasons for this issue...
    1. Authorization
You have said that, all authorizations are same for this buyer compare with other.
    2. Personal settings in me21n.
You have also said that there are no issues with the personal settings..
    3. User parameter..
Check user parameter from su01 tcode. Is it showing same as other users..
Also check again the personal settings, is there tick the option "Always propose" for storage location in me21n..

  • How can we enter storage location in the Thirdparty order processing?

    Hi Friends,,
Created one sales order with third party item.PR is generated automatically and wrt PR,PO is generated.I need to post first these stocks in my plant then my copany wil send to customer from my storage location. The material is not directly delivering to customer from vendor.Where can i do settings for this.
    Thanks in advance...KB

I think your (original) question was why you cannot receive the third-party item into your SLoc and that question has been answered.
Your second question is a new one. The solution for your scenario might be individual purchase order scenario: you receive SO > SO automatically creates PurReq > you convert it into PO > GR with ref. to PO > you can ship out the goods to your customer.

  • User exit for storage location determination in sales order

    Hi SAP SD Experts,
Please give me the exact user exit name where we can use for the automatic storage location determination in the sales order.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rajesh Kumar Raju,

    Dear Rajesh Kumar Raju
Go to IMG-->Logistics Execution >Shipping> Picking -->Determine Picking Location -->Define Rules for Picking Location Determination.  There you have to assign the MALA rule to your delivery type
Also maintain in OMJ8 and in material master under MRP2 view the default storage location in the field "Prod. stor. location"

  • Incorrect Storage Location (CMX)

    Dear Experts,
Delivery ABC for material CALXXX is used. For some reason the St Loc on the delivery is 0100, when it should be 0200.That is the reason why the shipment could not be PGId. Since this is not the first time we have this issue, what we are going to do is to manually update the delivery to st loc 0200 so the shipment can be PGId.
My question is can we update the delivery to sloc 0200 automatically and whether we can see from where the the storage location information  is picked up from?
Kindly help me out with this.
    Regards,
    -Sauryasen

The storage location used for picking  assigned via the following path  determined
SPRO > Logistics Execution > Shipping > Picking > Determine Picking Location > Assign Picking Locations -  saw the set up too.
Could you please tell me why SAP triggers a st loc 0100 on the delivery where it is configured for 0200 sloc? This is the reason why the shipment was not PGId. manual updation was done for  the delivery to st loc 0200 so the shipment can be PGId. This is where I wanted to understand how it can be done?

  • Storage Location In Goods Receipt.

    Hi experts!
In automatic goods receipt for Production Orders, the storage location to the good movements is defined in material master (MRP2 - Production Storage Location), and copied to Production Order during the creation.
I have some semi-finished materials that can be used to produce more then one finished materials, where the goods issue for this material are executed in diferent storage location. I want that the storage location to SFP goods receipt is defined in accordance with your use in the next production line (FP).
    Example:
Material 10 (SFP). This material is component of the material 20 (FP) and material 30 (FP). In production of the material 20, the goods issue storage location is A. In production of the material 30, the goods issue storage location is B. If the Production Order of the material 10 is created to reservation of the Material 20, the storage location defined in Production Order of the material 10 is A. If reservation of the material 30, storage location B.
In short, i want know that is possible change the goods receipt storage location automatically, looking the next Production Order goods issue storage location.
    MTS Environment.
Picking by MF60 is not a option, we need send the material directly to the next goods issue storage location.
    Any suggestion?
    Thanks a lot.
    Best Regards,
    RMS

    Hi,
I can think of three things to check which determines storage location automatically.
Please go through each of these things and check what is applied to your scenario.
    1) Check whether you have given production storage location in MRP2 view of material.
If you maintain prod sto loc at material level of SFP, it will be copied to all the production orders for all the FPs.
e.g. for Material 10 (SFP) you maintained prod stor loc (Lets say A sto loc) at MRP2 view, Sto loc A will be copied to all the production orders of both FPs Material 20 and Material 30.
    2) Check whether in the work center you have assigned a supply area, supply area is usually assigned to storage location.
    3) Check BOM of that material, go in to each of the component details and go to "Status/long text" tab and check whether you have assigned supply area or production storage location.
If you maintain it at the BOM item level, sto loc will be copied from here.
    e.g.
In BOM details of Material 20 (FP), go to BOM Item details of Material 10 (SFP) and maintain sto loc A in  supply area or production storage location of Status/long text" tab.
It will copy prod sto loc A for all the production order of Material 20 (FP)
In BOM details of Material 30 (FP), go to BOM Item details of Material 10 (SFP) and maintain sto loc B in  supply area or production storage location of Status/long text" tab.
It will copy prod sto loc B for all the production order of Material 30 (FP)
I think this is what you want, you can maintain diff sto locations in BOM as explained above, It should solve your issue.
I hope this explanation is sufficient to solve your problem.
Do revert in case you need more explanation.

  • Planned Ord. to Production Order User Exit (PPCO0005)

    Hi Guys,
I am trying to change the Storage location field on the GOODS RECEIPT tab in transaction CO40. I get there using MD04 and change a planned order to a production order.
The user-exit that sap recommends (PPCO0005) works fine to change the storage location for the components of the production order. It does NOT change the actual storage location of the production order.
The storage location of the actual production order is found under the GOODS RECEIPT tab of the production order. Any thoughts on what could be done to change the actual storage location of the production order. Is there any other user-exit that comes to mind?
Also, I changed the storage location in the PLAF table for the planned order in user-exit PPCO0005. This works when the production order is displayed again. It does not display the changed location the FIRST time the order comes up. Any ideas on how to make the screen field change it value. The screen field is AFPOD-LGORT.
    Regards,
    Salil

    Hi Julius,
I used an implicit enhancement in include LCOSDF36 under the form TRANSFER_DATA_PLANNED_ORDER. The enhancement builder allows you to change standard SAP code without creating a project via CMOD.
If you are on ECC versions of SAP you could use it. Go to include LCOSDF36 and switch 'on' the builder via the menu path.
If you are on older versions of SAP, you will have to locate a user-exit for PP. There are several of them available. You could also search right here on SDN.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
    Kindly,
    Salil

  • Storage location & backflush must be automatically set in Production order

    Hi Guru's ,
While creating production order the storage location and backflush for the Components (ROH Articles) inside the Production order are manually selected.
Is there any way, where i can set them (storage location and backflush) as a default whenever i create a Producton order ???  This means whenever i enter the components in a production order the system must automatically show the Storage Location and backflush as ticked.
Pls help on this thing ....
    Best Regards,
    Gurpreet Singh Saini.

    Hi,
To set the backflush always then in the material master MRP2 view set backflush " Always".
To set the automatic storage location then you can define the "Stock determination group".
This is will be help full if ur keeping material in more then one storage location.
If you are keeping in the single storage location then in the MRP2 view maintain the storage location in the "production storage location " filed.

  • Sales order same plant different storage location

    Hi
We are doing a sale order for a material that is storage in two storage location.
    Storage location A:
    2 units
    Storage location B:
    3 units
We did a sale order for 5 material. Stock availability asigned 5 unit in one position of the purchase order. Then the system create just one delivery for 2 units.
Which procedure or customizing we have to do to get two deliveries, one for each storage location.
Thanks in advance for the help
    Regards
    Enzo

    thanks SAJU SOM
We need to create two deliveries from one sales order, that have quantities for differents storage locations.
    Example:
    Sales order A: 5 units
We have, 2 in storage location C and 3 in storage location D under same plant. The storages locations are in differents places, so we need two deliveries, one from C and the other one from D.
I suppose that this situation is normal and occurs in many companies.
So, we have to create a sales order with 2 positions, or the system split the deliveries during deliveries creation?
I think the system should split the positions automatically in the sales order creation.
    Thanks for your help
    Regards
    Enzo

  • ATP check at sales order by storage location

Can I do an ATP check against a plant/storage location level during sales order entry?  Basically, for a particular plant, if I have 2 storage location with the following quantities:
    0010 = 100ea
    0020 = 150ea
Can I create a sales order for 110ea, specify the storage location 0010, and have the ATP come back as saying that I will be 10ea short?

    Hi Sandip,
I think this is Standard SAP, you can put Storage location in sales order and then ATP will check only in that storage location.
You dont need any special configuration for this. The only thing to be careful is what other documents like PO, Delivery you are using for considering in ATP.
Otherwise if a  storage location is mentioned in the sales order ATP will happen only in that storage location.

  • Storage Location at Sales Order level

    Hi Experts,
I have an issue here. In our system, the storage location is determined at sales order level and for that a code is written in the exit MV45AFZZ.
In the normal sales order, the storage location is determined as expected but when the return sales order is created taking the reference from the original sales order, for one type of material the storage location in the return sales order is same as the reference sales order (as required) but for one other type of material the storage location in the sales order is not same as in the reference sales order but some other storage location.
Could you pls help in finding the possible reasons for the same.
    Thanks,
    Harsh Gupta.

so can that have some impact
As you may be aware through standard settings, storage location in sale order will not be fetched automatically and as you said above, with an exit, it is fetched into sale order.  Hence, you need study that exit again as to why it is triggering a different plant when a return order is created.
    thanks

  • Ordered quantity in 2 storage locations

    Hi,
I have material M1 of 100 pieces stored in 2 storage locations say( SL1=50,SL2=50) in 1 plant.
Now i create an order fo 80 pieces.  quantity  is getting confirmed and order is saved.
Now VL01n-  storage location is entered manually and so the pick quantity.
How do you process such order. what needs to be done in the delivery document.
    partial delivery is allowed.

    Hi Lakshmipati,
if the storage location is determined automatically in delivery document then though i have 70 pieces of stock in plant only 50 will be confirmed and it wont use the stock in second storage location. so for the order to be complete i have to maintain the stock in SL1.
SO I want to know how to process a sales order with 70 quantity and which is maintained in 2 storage locaion(sl1=50,sl2=20)
what i tried to do is in delivery document i changed the deliver qunatity to 50 and picked that stock from sl1 location and done pgi
and again with reference to same order i created a delivery again and now the delivey quantity is shown as 20 so picked that 20 from sl2 location
i want to know if this is a standard process .
