Increasing number of apps not in english

I am a long time user of apple products and iTunes / App Store etc.
Recently I have noticed an increasing number of apps appearing on UK App Store with titles and descriptions in foreign languages and character sets ( ie Chinese)
Naturally I cannot read these ... And what's worse they are cluttering up lists of apps I am looking at, and wasting my time when I open up others that seem ok on the app list, only to find chunks of textual description in say Chinese
Is anyone else getting frustrated by this increasing issue?
Please Apple, get a grip! On the UK sites please at least restrict to English character sets, and preferably perform checks to verify descriptions are in English. If this is not resolved then my visits to the AppStore will decline rapidly .

The uk is a multicultural nation speaking in many tongues which is all part of what makes us a great nation
In order to get on we have to communicate via ... Err. Language!
The common language that glues this nation together is English!
The rest if the world and it's languages are on the rise which is just 'evolution', understandable and fine
All I want is to see (or at least be able to filter down to ) apps for the uk written is something that I can understand ...in these busy times I don't want to waste time trawling irrelevant information!!
So.. This request/question is about simple workflow functionality, language and absolutely nothing to do with race whatsoever ever !!!!
Out of interest I work with a very large workforce of Indian professionals from all across India .... Guess what the common language used is ?..... Yup ... English!

Problem with App not in English Please help

I purchased ITuran GPS for the UK for$39.99 It says the Language is English. It is in Hebrew. How do I get my money back? I contacted ITuran and they confirmed it is indeed in Hebrew.

OK I figured it out myself by trial and error and re downloading the app 3x. I cant read hebrew and had to guess which button was for English since its in Hebrew.

To sort through the every increasing number of apps, why doesn't Apple simply create more granularity in category descriptions for apps? i.e. instead of "financial", there could be 'budget', 'investment', 'bookkeeping', 'analysis', 'trade tools', etc.

Question says it all.

One thing I learned in high tech, was innovation often was so counter intuitive, one didn't think of it until presented with some sort of stimulus or trigger. Such as, an app for sale, description of function/process, etc. Thus, how do I know I want to search for something, if the idea hasn't completely jelled in my mind? Ergo, it would be nice to browse a greater variety of categories; that would enable a greater number of entrepraneurs to display their innovative wares.

Large number of apps not working on manual proxy

Recently my school installed a proxy which means when we connect to the wifi using iphone, ipod, pc etc. we must connect through the proxy. To connect to the proxy on my ipod touch it requires me to use the manual settings and turn authentication on and the issue is that the majority of my apps which require internet like for example clash of clans does not work where some apps such as the met office weather app and instagram work fine, in addition safari and the app store appear to be working fine. I have done a large search all over the internet and it appears this has been an issue since 2008 which is ridiculous
So please has anyone got an ideas of how to fix this?
Just to note no-ones iphone 4s or iphone 5, neither does anyones ipod touch 1gen, 2gen, 3gen or the most recent ipod touch, neither does anyones ipad or ipad mini so this is not just me and before anyone says it is not a problem with the school proxy it IS a problem on the ios or something along those lines

I also first thought that but there are website such as bbc iplayer and facebook which are not blocked but the apps do not work, and it is basically all the third party apps that do not work, apple apps seem to work fine however. And as I said I am not the only one who as posted on here with pretty much the same issue and some of them are not through proxies which have blockings. In addition people with accounts at my school which have no site restrictions, their apps still don't work either

Really sorry to hear about this, particularly when you're putting your life on the line. But Apple cannot track your iPhone in any way unless you had set up Find My iPhone prior to it being lifted.
It's possible that AT&T might be able to do something, but it's probably that they cannot track it, or will not without a request from an authorized law enforcement agency, but rather would only disable the device. You'll have to try and find a way to contact AT&T directly and ask if they can do anything to help you; the chances of any AT&T employee in a position to help you spotting this thread it pretty small.

Javascript is not enabled according to a number of apps, including synch.

I am informed by a number of apps (including FireFox Synch) that JavaScript is not enabled. I am running FireFox 33.0 on an ASUS tablet running Windows 8.1. I have re-downloaded and un/re-installed FireFox a number of times. These apps have run on other windows machines with no issues.

Interesting, when I go to the browser console, I get:

The character encoding of the HTML document was not declared. The document will render with garbled text in some browser configurations if the document contains characters from outside the US-ASCII range. The files eASLRB.htm, HTML.js, are in the folder in question. Never seen this before, but it sounds like a non-trivial error. Possibly a corruption of some sort when I copied from DropBox?
It looks like all the scripts being invoked are in a subfolder of the program folder nameded Scripts

App manager will not recognize English

When I try to download Application Manager, the menu always appears in Chinese. The preferences panel does not include English as an option. Instead it shows Cyrillic, three Asian scripts, Turkic and what appears to be a transliterated Asian language. I am running Mac OS 10.6.8 on an iMac 2 Intel core 2 duo,
When the Creative Cloud apps page loads, the language preference (highlighted in blue at the foot of the page) shows English.
If I search for updates for any of my CS5 apps, Application Manage appears, yet when I try to download an app from the CC page, whether as a stand alone or via the app, the Asian version pops up with no way to change to English.
I subscribed to CC via telephone - the website wasn't working too well - could this possibley have something to do with it?

To get the log file open the Terminal application (under Applications > Utilities in Finder). Type this:
cat ~/Library/Logs/PDApp.log > ~/Desktop/PDApp.log
The log file should have been copied to your Desktop.

This may occur because one of either have happened
1. Lot Quantity is not equal to the quantitiy being delivered.
2. Check if the item has secondary UOM and if it is matching on the lot form.

Preview app not working in Leopard

Hi pals,
I have just upgraded my Macbook (Tiger) to Leopard and updated with all necessary patches (10.5.2), but i am not able to launch preview which resulted in not able to launch all pictures and pdfs. When i double click on Preview (through Appln > Preview.app) the icon comes out and go immediately! Is there anywhere i can download preview from apple's site??? How do i repair it?

Unfortunately, yes it is a clue. The nib file in question is here:
"/Applications/Preview.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/MainMenu.nib"
As you can see, it is buried deep inside the application, that particular nib file is the programming stuff that tells Preview how to draw its menu. If that is broken, obviously the program can't run. And if that is broken, one wonders what else may be wrong. You really need the Leopard install disk so you can get an unbroken version of the program. Meantime, you can try other programs to look at things. For instance, almost anything will open a jpeg, including your browser. The browser will also open lots of other graphics, such as gifs and pngs. You can open PDF files with Adobe Acrobat Reader (free download from Adobe), or even QuickTime Player (believe it or not). Indeed, QT Player will also open pretty much any graphic file, including Photoshop files. I suspect you can use it to view pretty much anything that Preview will open.

I think you are using workflow policy programs to trigger emails using Email Manager component,if this is the case then it is not a recommended way to create another email manager component running in another siebel server,coz at same time both siebel servers will invoke the component to trigger mails ending you up in receiving two similar mails.

Is there a limit to the number of apps that can be Hidden from view in Family Sharing?

I've just set up a Family Share and have issued invitations to a couple of family members.
I'm trying to take full advantage of the "Hide" feature that's available in the Purchased list in the App Store app, mostly to hide really old apps that I haven't used since the beginning of time. These apps have been long gone from any of my iOS devices, and it has always bugged me that they still appeared in my Purchased list. It's pretty cool that Family Sharing allows people to hide some of their app purchases from others in the group, as this also allows folks to hide apps that they also don't want to see in our own lists.
The first couple of dozen apps that I decided to hide stayed hidden. However: now, no matter what I try, I can't hide any more apps. I swipe on an app to reveal the Hide button; tap the button; the app disappears from the list; I go to another screen in the app; I return to my Purchased list: and the most recent Hidden apps are still listed.
This is driving me nuts. I'm wondering if Apple has imposed a limit on the number of apps that anyone can hide; or if there's something I can do to force a hidden app to stay hidden.
Advice will be gratefully accepted.

Not a bad suggestion, but it does not explain why an app refuses to REMAIN hidden on my iPhone -- as I explained in my first post:

Given the clunkiness and general unreliability of iCloud - which rarely "just works" - it doesn't surprise me that hiding an app on one device doesn't mean the same app will be hidden immediately on other devices logged into the same account. I've learned to be patient and wait hours for changes to anything synced via iCloud to be reflected on other devices in the sync loop. But again, this in now way explains why apps were not staying hidden on the device that was used to hide them.
I've finally managed to hide all the apps I wanted hidden, after many hours of waiting and multiple attempts at hiding. I am in no way confident that these apps are going to REMAIN hidden permanently, or until I choose to unhide some of them; only time will tell if iCloud decides to behave and accept my series of "Hide this app" commands to be honoured permanently!

I'm wary about updating to Lion as this may cause any number of apps on my Macbook not to work at all or malfunction. Also my MacBook is 5 years old, and I was thinking about purchasing a new computer. I would like to decide when rather than be forced though. Does anyone have any suggestions for a work around? At the moment I do not subscribe to the cloud, and it looks like that is the only way I can back up my iPad now.

Snow Leopard is required if you wanted to upgrade to Lion, anyway, which you may want to in the future if the latest version of iTunes no longer supports Snow Leopard.

Double click the home button and swipe up the messages app to stop it, then open the app again. This pretty much completely stops the process and freshly opens it again, resolving problems at times. I have had this happen before as well on my iPad, I get a banner, check messages, and nothing new is there.
If that doesn't work, close the app like suggested above, but then restart the phone by holding down the home and lock button for 10-15 seconds until the apple logo appears.
