Hello All,
I want to export few indd files as PNG but with 150 DPI. I have the script for convert to PNG but I want to add PNG resolution in the script.
Please advise.
Regards
Virender

Here is the script but its not complete.
var sourceFolder = new Folder ("/Users/admin4/Desktop/INS"),
var destFolder = new Folder ("/Users/admin4/Desktop/folder3"),
myFiles = sourceFolder.getFiles(/.indd$/),
var sourceDoc, i, destFile, mPItems, mTarget;
for (i=0; i < myFiles.length; i++)
     sourceDoc = app.open(myFiles[i]);
     if(sourceDoc) {
          mPItems = sourceDoc.spreads[0].pageItems.everyItem().getElements();
          switch (mPItems.length) {
               case 0: alert("Empty file: " + sourceDoc.name); exit(0); break;
               case 1: mTarget = sourceDoc.pageItems[0]; break;
               default: mTarget = sourceDoc.groups.add(mPItems); break;
          mTarget.select();
          destFile = File(destFolder + "/" + sourceDoc.name + ".png");
          app.selection[0].exportFile(ExportFormat.PNG_FORMAT, destFile, false);
     else alert("Can't open a file: " + sourceDoc.name);
     if(sourceDoc.spreads.length > 1)
          alert ("More than 1 spread in file: " + sourceDoc.name);
     sourceDoc.close(SaveOptions.NO);

    Illustrator CS6 exports to PNG with unwanted transparencies. I've done everything I can think of but some of the shapes in my Ai file with 100% opacity are still showing the layer under them in the PNG export file. What can the issue be?

    This is how the Ai file looks and it should export and look the same.
    Here is the PNG export. The yellow layers are at 100% opacity but the bottom layer is showing through and changing the color for some reason. Saving as a pdf works fine but I need a PNG.

  • Why does iPhoto (9.0/11) not retain the Event name when exporting more than one event? (using File - Export - Album name with number).

    Why does iPhoto (9.0/11) not retain the Event name when exporting more than one event? (using File -> Export -> Album name with number).
    Exporting a single Event retains the Event name which is what I'd expect. But highlighting more than one event and exporting it renames the images to Events 001.JPG, Event 002.JPG etc.
    I was recently on holidays and had all my events nicely split on Dad's computer but when I went to export it I couldn't retain any of this information. Now I have to replicate this all again on my computer.
    It wasn't possible to export the entire library as the external drive was fat32 format an I didn't want all of it. It would be nice to export a bunch of events to someone and have it retain the name.
    Does anyone have a work around or will this be fixed at some point by Apple?

  • Export to png with transparancy

    hey, can this be done?
    export to png with transparent background
    even setting the background of the slide to "none" doesn't work
    if you can't achieve this, does anyone have any ideas how I could do a workaround?
    cheers, D

    Ahh, I read this and thought you required the export. You essentially want to take an image from Keynote into some other application WITH transparency, correct? If so, you may want to take a look at Skitch.
    http://www.plasq.com/skitch -currently in public beta as a free download
    You could copy the items as you're currently doing, then open Skitch and paste them in. Your objects will appear with a white background. Next, click the color well at the bottom of the colors on the right hand side in order to bring up the color palette. Change the opacity to Zero, then hold down Shift, while clicking in the color well. The background is dropped out and you have full transparency. You can even use Skitch to resize the image to exactly the size you want it to be. Click and drag the tab and to export at that size.

  • Export locally png with transparent background

    Is it possible to use Ps touch to remove the background from jpeg images and  export them locally as png with transparent background (reducing the size of the picture)? I would need to use this feature to create more keynotetouch-friendly images.

    Yes. That's possible. You can export a PSTouch project as png to the Camera Roll....and there are other channels as well where this is possible, like  "Share By E-mail" , "Send to iTunes" etc.
    Those options are accesible via the Share  menu (see attached screenshot) as part of the PSTouch project organizer

  • Files exported as png increase in size?

    Hi guys,
    I have a Panasonic Lumix GH1 with a 14 MP sensor outputting 12-MP RW2 files. I exported them from Aperture 3 Library as original size png's to my desktop. When I clicked on them to check them out, most of them were much larger (up to 21 MP), and some even shrank.
    Does that mean I can blow these up larger than I could as jpg's?
    Can anyone figure it out? What happened there? I just changed the file format on them, that's all.
    Thanks a lot,
    Raphael

    The MB informs us of file size-  "digital" file size, and the MP informs us as to how that amount of info is being distributed 2-dimentionally. Correct?
    You got it - nearly.
    The MB informs us of file size-  "digital" file size
    What exactly can be inferred from the filesize? The filesize will depend on the resolution (pixelsize) and on the compression scheme.
    Any lossless format (tiff, png, raw, psd) will result in large filesizes, in especially when set to 16 bit.
    Lossy compression (jpeg) only approximates the image and will degrade the image, but will reduce the file size depending on the setting of the quality slider.
    So, how large of a high quality print can I hope for at 12MB per image?
    That is easier to answer for 10 MP - a simple piece of arithmetic:
    For example, my Lumix FZ28 raws have a dimension of 3652 × 2738 (10.0 MP)
    If I print it at 300 dpi (dots per inch) the width will be: 3652 points / 300 dpi
         = 12.2 inches x 9.12 inches
    If I print it at 200 dpi (dots per inch) the width will be: 3652 points / 300 dpi
         = 18.26 inches x 13.69 inches
    If the compression is lossless (tiff, png, raw) printing at this size will give a very good quality, but if you have a jpeg format with low quality stting, the print might show artefacts and be blurry.

  • Why jpeg file exported from Aperture with 300 dpi's it opens with 72 dpi's on PS ( image size)? I've tried several combinations and all give different results. And I am confused on what is the best workflow for me.

    Ok.
    My workflow is
    RAW > Aperture Library > export jpeg high resolution 300 dpi's > one file on PS > edit > Save us jpeg. The I realised that files from PS were being save in a smaller size from the ones exported form Aperture. That is when I went o see <image size> on PS and files were with 72.
    Since ten I've trying different things
    1. Aperture > export as PSD > open on PS > edit > Save us jpeg = small file (around 15 MB)
    2. Aperture > export as jpeg high resolution 300 dpi's > open on PS > CHANGE dpi's to 300 on <image size> edit > Save us jpeg = big file (Huge, actually)
    What am I doing wrong? Would someone give me guidance and tell me what is the best workflow, considering I edit photos to deliver to my clients and I shall give them 300 dpi's.
    Thank you

  • Export from iPhoto with limited ppi.

    I need to submit a photo that is 1000 ppi in its longest dimension. When exporting from iPhoto, you can select small, medium, large and original. Or go the custom route, in which case the dimension is listed as "px." How do I convert to ppi? Thank  you.

    you can not - PPI is Pixels per inch - digital photos have no inches so you can not have PPI
    in the export dialogue you can select the number of pixels for the largest dimension - see the user tip on exporting for export options

  • Aspect ratio issues in iDVD with mov files exported from FCE

    Please help. I believe this is an iDVD bug. I have found some relevant discussion of it on online forums - but have not found a solution that works for me. I am looking for a workaround.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1356500&tstart=31
    PROBLEM STATEMENT:
    My 4:3 movies, exported from FCE in QT-with-conversion formats (any 4:3 format) - appear in iDVD with gray side-pillars (as expected for 4:3) AND with a black line (letter-boxing) at top and bottom - as would be for 16:9. It appears the aspect ratio is also distorted i.e. 16:9. (The iDVD project is set to 4:3.)
    1- A 4:3 mov file exported from FCE using Quicktime Movie format (no conversion) does not have the problem, but I cannot de-interlace the video using this export mode.
    2) A 4:3 mov file exported using QT-with-conversion mode (any 4:3 format) DOES have the problem. I need to use this mode in order to get de-interlace.
    (Exception: 640x480 VGA mode does not have the black lines, and it displays correctly in dvd player on my computer screen - but on the TV screen, it crops content from the top and bottom of the movie, so this is not an option.)
    3) In Finder, if you click on mov file exported QT-only (no conversion), it opens in the FCE viewer. If you click on mov file exported in any other 4:3 mode, it opens in Quicktime viewer (i.e. there is absolutely something different in the header/ID of these files.)
    4) All mov files, regardless of export mode, show correctly in Quicktime viewer - no black line, no distortion. The problem does not occur outside of iDvd.
    5) I tried passing the QT-with-conversion mov files through an Inverse-Anamorphicizer (per suggestion on forum - this apparently fixed the problem for some people) but the resulting output mov (i.e. the inverted product) still had the same problem.
    I am, so far, left with this trade-off: Give up the de-interlacing, or live with the letter-boxing/ distortion. Neither is acceptable.
    I am looking for a workaround:
    1) A way to export de-interlaced 4:3 mov from FCE that shows in correct ratio in iDVD
    2) A way to "convert" / re-head mov file after exported so that it displays corrrectly (inverse-anamorphicize) so that iDVD reads it correctly
    3) Can the mov be de-interlaced after the fact (so I could use QT export without conversion)?
    4) Something besides iDVD to put this together - that doesn't have this problem? (I like and want to use the iDVD menu/theme.)
    5) Other?????
    I also notice that all the QT-with-conversion mov files are 1/3 to 1/2 the size of the QT-only mov file, which is valuable and preferable to me. (I don't see any quality difference in the display...)

    In the Preview window > top frame > middle button
    do you have correct for pixel aspect ratio checked or not?

  • Export to epub with linked ai files result in low quality images

    I have a 220 page indesign cc doc which I am exporting to epub fixed layout. I have around 100 linked ai files. When I export, the main paragraph text is crisp and lovely but the ai figures are a little fuzzy.
    I have tested different settings in the 'Object Export Options' but each time it comes out the same.
    See image below.
    I have searched around but can't seem to find anyone talking about this. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?

    Hello Carli,
    When exporting to epub, images format changes to png/jpg/gif depending on what you have selected in EPUB Export Options dialog. Please try exporting to PNG with high resolution selected(you can change Resolution as well in Export Options dialog).

  • Help associating indd files with ID CS5

    I uninstalled InDesign CS4 on my computer to free up disk space.  I already had InDesign CS5 installed.  Now, my .indd files are not associated with my CS5 version.  I can see the indd extension in my files, but when I click on them they do not open in any format.  I have tried going through the steps and associating the .indd files to CS5, but the computer will not allow me to associate those files with the indd.exe file.
    Any suggestions on getting this fixed?
    Thanks!

    Once you wind up with that situation it's fastest to just reinstall.

  • Placing .indd file in another .indd causes errors

    Hello,
    I am working with CS6 on a Windows 7 machine and I frequently place .indd files into other indd. files.
    Quite often indesign crashes when I have both of those indesign files opened. Just as I make changes in one of them and save it, indesign stops working and I am forced to close it.
    It maybe be important to note, that files are not saved on a local computer, all .indd files I am working with are on internal network.
    I am used to these crashes now and I try not to worry about them too much, but recently I experienced something really bad, where I can't find an explanation.
    I have linked 2 .indd files in one. Display performance is set to HIGH QUALITY.
    Here is a screenshot of how it looks - ALL FINE.
    SAME file. Display performance is set to TYPICAL DISPLAY.
    Here is a screenshot of how it looks - BAD!!!
    How can it be, that the headline, the logo and another text box on the right .indd file is missing now?
    It is exactly the same .indd file on both sides. The layer options for both of them are the same. All of those elements are on the same layer.
    I get no errors in preflight, no missing links in links panel. If I click edit original on the right .indd file, it opens up and all is perfect.
    I also noticed, that sometimes it is the other way around, setting to typical display shows all objects, setting to high, makes some disappear.
    In my case, I was working with high quality display performance, exported as postscript file and sent to print.
    Those objects did not print out.
    Does anyone knows what is the cause of this? Or has anyone experienced anything like this?

  • Exporting a QT with multiple channels?

    Curious... Am I able to export / create a QT file with multiple audio channels embedded?
    I've a project with multiple tracks of audio. Now, of course, I know how to "pan" a track left / right to create a project with discrete tracks.
    But, what if I have multiple tracks (vo, sfx, and STEREO audio.) Is there a way to create QuickTime file (exported from FCPX) with MORE than TWO audio tracks? For example, can I create a file with mono'd VO on one track... mono'd SFX on another... THEN... stereo music on two separate tracks? (for a total of four tracks.)
    Please advise, and thanks.

    dastoelk wrote:
    Luis, many thanx!!!! You mind posting a quick screen shot showing the setting for "Roles as Multitrack Quicktime Movie?" Again... awesome!
    No problem!
    Here it is. Note that you can create as many audio tracks as you want, and they can each correspond to one or more roles (or sub-roles).
    In the example, three audio tracks will be created, one each for Dialogue, Music, Effects; but you can do any combination of roles and/or sub-roles as you please.

  • Export selected photos with comments

    How does one export selected photos (or an album) in such a way that when someone else imports them (on a different computer), the comments are preserved?
    That is, the recipient gets to see in their iPhoto the comments that the originator added in their iPhoto.
    I've done some searching in this forum and it kind of looks like there is no way using iPhoto, and that probably the best bet is to use iPhoto Library Manager. Is that right, or have I missed something?
    (As an aside to my main question: I think I recall an older version of iPhoto having an option to export selected photos in what was essentially an iPhoto Library structure (not the entire library, just a library of the selected photos), and this structure could be copied to another computer and then imported into the other iPhoto. But I haven't found any such option in iPhoto 08. If I'm correct I'm puzzled, since it seems like a step backwards.)
    Thanks in advance!

    Don:
    Use the File->Export->File Export menu option with the options shown below:
    You can change the size and quality level as needed. The description as well as the keywords and titles will be included.
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
