Indesign - Exporting PDF which has Transparency getting error in PITSTOP

Hi all,
Recently we are getting jobs which has" transparency" - effects used. We are getting problem when we run PITSTOP.
We have an Indesign file with transparency in Opening page of an article. One background Image is there, over the image a strip which is drawn using "box" and applied "Transparency - Multiply" effect so that the image can see through it.
We exported the file using distiller "PDF/X-1a" and created PDF. Once we run the PITSTOP to check the PDF we are getting error.
"Effective resolution of color or grayscale image is less than 200 dpi"
This error is showing in the" Stip" which is drawn in Indesign.
The problem here is when we export the file in "PDF/X-1a" the transparency getting flattern because of this the strip become image and showing low res. in PITSTOP.
We have increased the Transparency Flatten Preset Option from 1200 to 2400, still the problem was not solved.
Expecting a solution for this all types of suggestions are welcome.
Shaji

Shaji,
I think I wasn't clear in my last post. The mesh resolution should NOT be below 200. But it sounds like that isn't the issue after all.
When you select that background image in InDesign and look at the Info Panel, what do you see for "effective" ppi?

  • How do I get a refund on Export PDF that has ALREADY been agreed

On 1/21-1/22 I tried to 'renew' a subscription for Export PDF. By some error (maybe mine - I just dont understand the whole thing) my Bank was immediately charged for two subscriptions, each at a different price. I immediately "chat"ted with several  reps (it was difficult to get onto the chat and find out how to cancel) and was assured that both would be cancelled and refunded. They weren't!
I waited a week. Was again frustrated by the chat hookup, and tried the 'cloud' retail product tel #, assuming it was wrong but that I could be switched to the correct one. Had a very pleasant chat, was assured that both would be cancelled and refunded, received 2 e-mails confirming the cancellations, each with a seperate "Case #". Felt pretty good! It had only taken me a week of reasonably diligent effort to get a very simple thing done! IT WASN"T DONE! (Yes, I apologize - I know I'm loud - but by now I've got steam coming out of my ears!)
Today I got an e-mail, telling me that the refund had been processed and the case # would be closed. I looked at my bank, and only one had been refunded! I reviewed all the other e-mails and the notes from the telephone calls and chats to be sure I hadn't misunderstood something. But, no I hadn't. I went to my Adobe on-line and looked up 'my orders' history. Sure enough one had been invoiced and refunded ( the lesser charge of the two) but the other had ONLY BEEN INVOICED - NOT CANCELLED. And it seems that every piece of this transaction generates a new "order" , "case" or some other "reference #" - none of which are tied together, except by the invoice amount, when it is mentioned - which it typically IS NOT.
My question, then, is : How can I get past this absolute frustration over every aspect of my interaction with Adobe and GET THIS TAKEN CARE OF?????????

    Hi Stacy,
        What frustration? (Just kidding !)
As I mentioned, one of the two charges has been  refunded. Credited by
Adobe on Jan 28, I believe I received it in my bank on Jan  30.
The other charge, $25.37 of order # AD011017507,  has not been received
by my bank yet. But this can't be that much of a surprise,  and has nothing
to do with "10 business days" for refunds to post.
To this minute, "My Orders" on Adobe website shows  that the order #
AD011017507  was invoiced on January 22, but that no  credit invoice has been
posted against this order to this moment!
Can you begin to understand the frustration of  being unable, through
all attempts to untangle this mess, starting within  one hour of the original
order, with I believe nine different "Chats",  telephone calls and, finally
a "problem" posting,  stretching over more  than thirteen days. Of course
it doesn't make much sense to devote this much  attention to less than $50
worth of stuff, but I do not let things like this  dangle.
And can you imagine how loathe I am to deal with  Adobe for fear of
    some real problem?
At any rate, I would certainly be pleased if you  can suggest a way for
me to extricate myself from this. Any help would be  GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks for your time and any trouble,
        Stephen Ellis

  • I am having a problem opening pdf document.  I get error message: "Adobe Reader has stopped working"

I am having a problem opening pdf document.  I get error message: "Adobe Reader has stopped working" then I get Windows is looking on line for a solution, but then my document closes. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Reader XI, rebooted my computer but this did not help.  I get the same message. What to do?

Can you open Reader by itself?  If so, check if disabling Protected Mode improves the situation [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].

  • How can I cancel my subscription of export pdf which I bought by mistake?

HOw can I cancel my subscription of export pdf which I bought by mistake

    Hi Nathalieschembri,
I've checked your account, but don't see any order history under the email address you use here in the forums. Is it possible that you used a different email address or purchased ExportPDF as in in-app purchase from the Reader mobile app? (For the latter, you would need to contact the App store from which you purchased the subscription--Adobe doesn't handle those purchases/refunds.)
If you think you signed up using a different email address, let us know (don't include your email address in the post--just let us know that you used a different one, and I'll send you a private message to get the details).
    Best,
    Sara

  • Error handling: Customizing error details: Info about the the path to the VI which has thrown the error

    Hi,
I need a quick advice about how to display in the error cluster the information about the path and VI which has thrown an error.
When I don't prepare my own error message, and the error is captured automatically, the information about the path, Vi name and calling VIs is presented automatically.
When I prepare/define my own basic error cluster I have only what I define in the string part of the cluster.
How to cause tha apperance the path and VI name in my defined error message?

    You mean this link
That's helpful too but,  I had read "When I prepare/define my own basic error cluster I have only what I define in the string part of the cluster" as you wanted to use a file to expose those custom error codes and ultimately ship them with your solution dynamically rather than statically
The error ring will pick up any custom errors you define in the error file(s).  Including formatting!  this then populates the explain errors and error dialogs just like any error definition that ships with any LabVIEW component or toolkit.
Certainly, an error ring can also STATICALLY define or re-define an error within the application instance the ring is called from.  Those Error Rings are quite flexible!

  • InDesign exported pdf viewed in Adobe Reader & Acrobat + Transparency

    Hi.
In InDesign I have a tiff image with a blue color background. This image is on top of a colored rectangle with the same blue. I have matched the color settings so it does infact match & prints out well from InDesign. I also have a couple feathered images in InDesign as well.
I made the destination color under the export pdf Output section match the color working space.
As I said..everything prints well from InDesign.
I make a .pdf & open it in Reader, which also looks fine on screen, but when printed, I get these glowing edges around both the tiff image & feathered images. Is there a way to change the color settings in Reader? Or am I totally missing something else? Transparency spaces??
In Acrobat, only the vector images look a little jagged on screen, but prints fine. Is there a reason for this also?
    Thank you.
    Jules

Peter, my apologies for not getting back to you sooner than this, I've been away from my Mac since I posted this.
Thank you for your very kind offer to look at the files for me. In between time a friend has been over and apparently altered some settings on my iMac and the problem seems to have been resolved. (I hope!)
Thanks again - I daresay I'll be back with more questions before long...

  • InDesign - Export PDF file size

Hey everyone. I use InDesign to create my resume for job apps and whatnot. I've found that many corporate sites only accept file sizes under a certain limit (usually 500kb or smaller). My resume is usually around 590-610kb. Is there any way that I can reduce the file size without losing significant quality, or even any?
    Cheers.

So I need to d/l adobe acrobat?
OK, so this sounds like you don't have a Creative Suite package, or perhaps you are using Creative Cloud and didn't install Acrobat Pro.
The free Adobe Reader will not help you to optimize a PDF, you need the full, paid, Acrobat application. Uwe's suggestion to distill might get you a smaller PDF, but again, without Acrobat you won't have Distiller. There are a few freeware Distiller clones that would probably work for plain text, but I doubt there's much that can be done to bring the size down on a file that has nothing but text in it without removing the non-graphic disposables like metadata, and the embedded page thumbnails, which requires the optimizer.
It occurs to me that one reason your exported PDF might be large is that ID always embeds fonts unless they are restricted. If you are using common system fonts that you know your viewer will have, you can distill PDF without embedding fonts and save a couple of bytes. I just pulled up a random page from a student paper, which has about seven fonts in use. The usage audit says they total a bit over 2mb.

  • InDesign export PDF path should follow document path

I love InDesign totally. Well, almost...
I often work on several documents over the course of a day, or sometimes I won't work in InDesign for several days. In either case, InDesign exports the PDF to the last path exported to rather than following the path of the document I am working on. I find this mildly annoying to highly aggravating, depending on my work load. (I can't say how many times I have "lost" a PDF I just exported, only to find some time later that it saved to the last export location, which often has nothing to do with the document I'm exporting from.)
Is there any setting I can change for this? I don't mind mucking in the registry if I have to.
    Thank you,
    Bruce

I'm pretty sure that would be scriptable. I don't write scripts myself, but I had Dave do one for me last year for correcting homework. It does all sorts of neat stuff like locking existing layers, adding a new one, changing the default text color and saving a new version of the file into the old directory so pretty much all I need to do is run it and type my comments.
Post on the scripting forum for more help.

  • How to undo an order of transport which has returned an error code 8

    Hi experts,
While transporting an installation of business content, it has removed a lot of transfert rules. Could you tell me how to undo this transport from quality to the production envirenenmet. Unfortunately I dident check the transport order which has returned the code error 8.
    Thank you for your answer.
    Regards.

    Hi Joseph,
Transport all the objects you want in the order again with a new request. This will replace all the transported objects and you will get all the objects transported.

  • PDF/A-1b compliant PDF from InDesign exported PDF

Hi folks.  I need to produce a pdf/a-1b compliant pdf from an InDesign document and it is giving me fits.  Because InDesign offers no native option to export pdf/a-1b compliant files, I have been exporting my document with the available presets (I've tried all of them), then running the pdf/a-1b conversion in Acrobat.  However, this conversion fails every time, usually on font subset and colour issues depending on how I set up the initial export from InDesign.  The only way I have managed to get a file to pass the conversion is to export from InDesign, save that pdf as images, rebuild the original pdf from the image files, then run the pdf/a-1b preflight from Acrobat.  Trouble is that this results in a serious loss of resolution that I can't have for my purposes.  Anyone have any ideas on how I can produce a pdf from InDesign that will pass the pdf/a-1b preflight in Acrobat?

You have to do it in Acrobat Pro after PDF export.

  • Indesign export pdf used preset include comment

Is there a way including the summary of the used preset as comment within the exported pdf? Within Acrobat Distiller you have an option called "save adobe pdf settings inside pdf file", is there also such an option available in Indesign?
As a receiver of pdf files, then you have the possibility detecting which preset is used.
    Regards,

    There is no such option.
Instead, you should use Acrobat Pro's Preflight tools to check for issues like image resolution or colors spaces which are important to your workflow.

  • I am in china on holiday and need export pdf.how can i get this here ? i need it for documents

how do i get adobe export pdf on my computer while i am here in china on holiday ? i need it to convert pdf to word as there system will not open my pdf files

In the future, simply use a free service such as Google Voice or YouMail for the voicemail on your cellular device. You can access your voicemail via the web with these services without the need for an international phone call.
Edit: Unfortunately, this won't work for any voicemails you would have already received prior to setting up the service.

  • Can I prevent the rapid flashing which occurs when testing a Flash movie which has a syntax error?

I teach games development using Flash Professional CS6, and one of my students has photosensitive epilepsy. He is finding that the 'strobing' effect which occurs when he executes Test Movie on a movie with errors in its script is triggering headaches which can be a precursor to a fit. Obviously this is making it very difficult for him to complete his lab and assignment work. Is there any way of preventing a Flash movie from running if it contains a syntax error?
I have created a workaround by adding a bunch of extra frames to the start of the movie which will display a "SYNTAX ERROR" message if the script doesn't run - this gives my student a few seconds margin to quite the movie before the strobing begins. I have a single frame at the start with a goto statement which jumps over those error frames if the code doesn't have any syntax errors.
This seems to be working ok, but it's an ugly solution - does anyone know of a better way to deal with this?
    Thanks.

1.In Preferences you can check "open test-movie in tabs".
    2. Having done that you could write a jsfl-script which switches the focus (immeadiately after you test the movie) to another tab in the same register card, thus, forcing the possible "corrupt" testmovie in the background. If are no compiler errors , the testmovie can be made available by simply switching to the test-movie tab, if there are compiler errors, you can close it without having to look at it.
Another option would be to setup FlashDevelop as compiler trigger of Flash.
You have to change these basic properties in your project:
FlashDevelop will only launch the test movie if it compiles flawless, inside Flash.
FlashDevelop will act as a "bouncer" to Flash.

  • How can I cancel a subscription to Adobe Export PDF which didn't work for my application?

I purchased Adobe Export PDF because I needed to convert an incoming Pdf file to word.  It is the only time I would ever use this program....  The conversion did not work because there was handwriting on the document (which I understand would negate the conversation).  How can I cancel this purchase?  I do not need the program.

the last itunes update failed - getting error R6034 attemp to load C runtime library incorrectly. Program reference - Program C;/prgram files (x86)\tunes\itunes.exe - can anyone help. I tried to use epir and did an uninstall and reinstall and still geting same error

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
