INDIA - Subcontract Process- Creation of Excise Invoice T-code J1IS

Dear All,
We are placing most of the purchase orders on subcontractor labour basis & raw material steel is being supplied by us to subcontractor. Transfer posting Movement type 311. After creation of material document Excise Invoice is created using T-code J1IS. Finsidhed job directly despatched to site.
At present for raw material despatches to vendor from works, Assessable value is derived on by the basis of GR No. printed on the transfer posting delivery note. A person preparing excise invoice retrieves the relevant GR works out the Assessable value and then enters the value manually. This process is repeated for as any many line items that a particular delivery note consists. This is resulting in delay of creating excise invoice. In our case we have only Project stock & moving average price is being update automatically in Table QBEW .
Now our requirement is that The value should be auto derived from QBEW Table and captured while creating excise invoice. T-code J1IS.
Please inform if this is possible & guide us.

In normal circumstances, it is not possible to generate an excise invoice for credit / debit notes in SAP.  Moreover, DLFC excise invoice type can be generated only if delivery is involved.  So in order to achieve the requirement (and fool the system :-|), you can try by creating a delivery with an item category as TAX so that it will not check for stock, do PGI and invoice (credit memo) can be generated  referencing credit memo request.  Finally, try to generate an excise invoice via J1IIN
I have never tried this option and hence, its only a guess that this should work.  Update after testing.
thanks

1.What are the settings required for automatic creation of Excise Invoice?
    2. Currently iam following the below flow :
    VA01(OR) -
    >VL01N(LF)  -
    > VF01(F2) -
    > J1IIN(JEX)...Are  there any problems if i follow this flow?
    3. How should i cancel the Outgoing Excise?Whats the flow and Tcodes for the same?
Your expertise and suggestions will be very useful .....
    Thanks
    Sasi

    Dear Sasi
    To cancel Excise Invoice
    1)  TCode -  *J1IH*
    2)  Go to IMG Path -- Logistics-General --> Tax on Goods Movements --> India --> Account Determination --> Specify G/L Accounts per Excise Transaction.
Here you have to define the Excise Transaction type CEIV for the combination of your Excise Group, Company Code and respective G/L Account.
    thanks

  • After J1IIN Creation of Excise Invoice, wat is the next immediate actions

after J1IIN Creation of Excise Invoice, wat is the next immediate actions/activities with respective to SD Point of view.
In each level wat r the things of updations happen upto end of Excise process in SD
WAT R THE THINGS R TO BE CHECKED IN EACH LEVEL

    Hi,
for SD point of view we only do the RG1 extraction and printing only.
If u want to see the Updation of RG1 check the Table:  j_1irg1. Here u can find the values that are updated. This can be updated only after the Extraction of the RG1.
    Printing the RG1 go to T.Code : J2I6
Prininting of the Excise Invoice : J1IP.
I hope this will clarify u r doubts.

    Hi
If you are using TAXINN procedure, check apart from VK11 check you have maintained TAX CODE for excise condition types. Example FTXP or VK19 (using application as TX). Also check whether you are using UTXJ condition type. If you are using UTXJ condition type then please remove it.
For TAXINN you need not have UTXJ condition type.

  • Creation of Excise Invoice in J1IS Transaction - using DLFC ref. doc. type

    Hi,
I tried to create the excise Invoice using Ref. Doc Type DLFC in J1IS by giving the material document. But it is not allowing me to process further.
The business process requirment is to create a Supplementary Excise Invoice(Customer is Billed for a lesser value earlier)
    we tried the following:
    1. Credit memo request
    2. Credit Memo
    3. Excise Invoice in J1IS using sub.Tran Type(to map the Sales exc Inv Accounts). The reson why we used J1IS is to meet the requiremnt of generating the Outgoing Excise Invoice Number which is not possible in J1IH.
Now the issue is, the excise invoice created in J1IS is not available for Utilizaton in J2IUN
Please Suggest what process to be followed to address the issue.
    regards,

  • Creation of excise invoice automatic.

    Hi All,
I have an one doubt. i have done setting for creation of excise invoice automatically.
Here is only one excise and series group.
So when i do the domestic sale, excise invoice gets created automatically but when i do the export sale and create the commercial invoice , excise invoice does not  create automatically.
Is it happening because we are using same excise and series group or some thing else?
Note- If i remove the automatic setting and create the excise invoice seperately in both scenario, it is getting create.
    Jalaj

    Hi
There is some basic requirements to create the automatic Excise Invoice like :-
    A) Specify the CENVAT account which should be posted on creation of excise document.
    B) Under which Excise Group and Series Group the Excise Invoice should be created.
In your case to create automatic Excise Invoice you need to maintain separate Excise Group and Series Group, as for Export we also need to maintain separate no. range (not necessarily) and normally we also have different Billing Type.
So do the separate setting and then try to create automatic Excise Invoice.

  • Creation of excise invoice before billing document

    Hello Experts,
Our user is creating excise invoice for xyz material (own manufactured products) dispatched from the plant after creation of the commercial invoice.
Now it is required to create the excise invoice before creation of billing documents.
How this is to be done? suggestions please.
    Regards,
    Raj

First, U Need to Change the SPRO Setting Like Below:
In VTFL, you should maintain both copy controls for
    u2022     Delivery (LF) --> Proforma (F8)
    u2022     Delivery (LF) --> Commercial Inv (F2)
Once you do PGI, in VF01, you have to select manually the billing type F8 and save the proforma. Based on this proforma, when you access J1IIN, system will ask for Billing document reference where you can input proforma reference.
Creation of Proforma Invoice is required for the creation of Excise Invoice for Sale.
The transaction codes are :- VF01 :- for creation of Proforma Invoice
VF02 :- for change of Proforma Invoice
VF03 :- for display of Proforma Invoice
While creating Proforma Invoice the Billing Type to be changed to u201C Pro Forma Invoice for Delivery u201C as shown in the screen shot and then Delivery Number to be entered in u201CDocument u201C field . After executing and Saving the transaction Proforma Invoice will be generated.
So restriction in Authorization is required to allow only Billing Type u201C  Pro Forma Invoice for Delivery u201C for those who will prepare Proforma Invoice .

  • Cancellation & JV of Excise invoice generated through J1IS

    Dear Friends,
We have a requirement to cancel the outgoing excise invoice created through the transaction J1IS towards purchase return.
I believe through J1IS, cancellation of the excise invoice is made possible but no accounting document get posted.  Only the status is being changed from 'Posted' to 'Cancelled'.
While doing the JV through the Transaction J1IH => Cancell Exc Inv, system is giving error message as follows:
"Excise modvat accounts not defined for CEIV transaction and  excise group".
In the customisation, all the relevant GL accounts are found maintained against transaction type CEIV.
For example at the time of outgoing excise invoice posting through J1IS following accounts hit.
    13113920     CENVAT clearing     8
    13113920     CENVAT clearing     771
    13113920     CENVAT clearing     15
    13113900     CENVAT Payable     - 8
    13113900     CENVAT Payable     - 771
    13113900     CENVAT Payable     - 15
We would like to have an opposite entry through the transaction code J1IH => Cancellation of Exc Inv.
Kindly give a suitable solution to make the cancellation.
    Thanks.
    Harikrishnan.

    Hi Hari,
    Do the blw option
whenever you are trying to cancel the Excise Invoice generated by J1IS/J1IV , Use J1IH-> Cancel Excise Invoice> you have to give the Official Excise invoice no. which is generated by J1IV for cancellation
and ref the sdn thread with same issue

  • Creation of excise invoice at depot with A-certificate

    Dear Friends,
I have a scenario with one of my customers where they transfer stock from plant to depot and sell those from there. In one instance, it was discovered that by mistake proforma invoice at the plant was prepared with wrong base price and therefore less excise values flowed into the outgoing excise invoice. To take care of this an excise JV was passed from the plant. Thereafter, an A-certificate was created w.r.t the outgoing plant invoice to capture the excess excise values. Simultaneously, a debit memo request was created for the plant followed by a debit memo to balance amount. The RG1, RG23A partII registers were then updated. Now, while selling from the depot, when excise invoice is being assigned to the delivery, I am not able to find the plant excise invoice which is needed to be assigned. Only, the A-certificate is seen. I have tried to change selection criteria also but still unable to find the particular incoming invoice in the list. Therefore, I am not able to create the depot excise invoice.
    My queries are as follows:
    1. Whether the process of adjusting the excise difference through JV is OK. Or I need to create a supplementary invoice through J1IS with reference document type OTHR?
    2. How to update RG1 register for the differential value or the RG23A only shall be updated instead of RG1 after the Jv is passed?
    3. I am not able to assign the incoming excise invoice and the A-certificate together to the outbound delivery at depot.
I shall be obliged if any of you suggest me a solution from your experience as many of you might have come accross similar scenarios while working on CIN.
Awaiting a reply and wishing everybody a very Happy New Year in advance.
    Regards.

    Dear Lakshmipathi,
Thanks for the prompt response and suggestion. I believe I have not been able to clarify my requirement. I understand that at depot level RG23D only should be updated and RG1 or RG23A has got no relevance. My query is, when the goods are being sent from plant to depot, RG1 register is updated which will capture the excise values in the outgoing excise invoice. Now later on when I find that I have sent goods at wrong price(ie charged less excise duties), I need to generate a supplementary invoice and issue a debit memo to the depot to balance my revenue accounts. Now, in this case , how I shall post the differential amount to the registers at plant level and during utilization how the set off will take place between sales and procurement?
As regards the A-certificate part I have understood the entire process and have completed the same.
Also I need your inputs in the following scenario:
Incase If I have charged more excise to the customer  during sale from factory, how the same amount will be adjusted in the registers.
    Process Flow: Factory Sales
    VA01 u2013 Create Order                                    - 10 Pc
    VL01N u2013 Create Delivery & PGI                 - 10 Pc
    VF01 u2013 Create Commercial Invoice             - BED- 1000 , ECS u2013 20 , SheCess - 10
    J1IIN u2013 Create Outgoing excise invoice      - BED- 1000 , ECS u2013 20 , SheCess - 10
    J1I5-Update RG1 register
    J2I5-Extract RG1 register
    J2I6- Print RG1 Register
We realized that we have charged more price as a result even excise is charged more to the Customer.
So the steps that we are thinking are as follows:
    Actual Excise values should have been BED- 800 , ECS u2013 16 , SheCess - 8
    1)Create Credit Memo
    2)Create Excise JV through J1IH ( Additional Excise ) - Excise Amount : BED- 200 , ECS u2013 4 , SheCess - 2
    My present RG23A balance of Purchases is BED-2000 , ECS u2013 40 , SheCess - 20
Now our question is when we are creating Excise JV through J1IH ( Additional Excise ), RG23A Register is getting updated and additional values getting added.
    So now my RG23A balance of Purchases is BED-1800 , ECS u2013 36 , SheCess - 18
So in Utilization i.e. in T-Code : J2IUN, Available Balances are decreased. But Outgoing excise values to be sett off are not getting affected anyways.
This means that my excise values of Purchases i.e. RG23A Part 2 are getting decreased and Excise values during sales are not getting affected which we feel is not correct.
Please give your valuable inputs and also let me know if I am following the correct Process as many suggest to use J1IS T- Code for Adustments.

  • Control the creation of excise invoice without chapter id

    Hi All
If Chapter ID is not maintained for a material in J1ID, can we control the creation of the sales excise invoice (J1IIN) for that particular material.
    Thanks in advance
    regards
    Ram A

    Hi Rajesh
    Thanks for your reply.
Eventhough the chapter ID is not maintained in the Material Master or in J1ID, the system will allow the creation of the sales excise invoice (J1IIN) without any excise duties in case of TAXINJ and with excise duties in case of TAXINN.
My requirement is that the system should restrict the creation of sales excise invoice for the materials without chapter ID.(Any User exits ???)

  • Creation of Excise Invoice for Sample Sales

    Hi Gurus,
When i create excise invoice for sample sales against the invoice the excise duties are not capturing it is showing as zero value. Can you give suggestions to solve this.
    Regards
    Kiran

If the excise values flowing in billing document but not in excise document, then you need to check in the following IMG
Logistics-General --> Tax on Goods Movements --> India --> Account Determination.
There you have to maintain the respective G/L accounts for excise and also in the next tab you have to specify the G/L Accounts per Excise Transaction.
For information, for outgoing excise invoice, the excise transaction type would be DLFC.
    thanks

Where and How can i enter Excise invoice for this return (Credit Memo)?
    I tried J1IH transaction--> Other Adjustments
    I am getting following error.

    Procedure
Assign GL a/c for the excise a/c in CIN customization under :    Accounting ->  Assign GL accounts to excise groups and                   transaction types"
    Please help

J1IIN is intended only for outgoing sales and not for returns.
For updation of excise related sales returns, run J1IH and do the following:-
    Customer Credit
Choose the Additional excise input the original excise invoice reference, document year, company code, plant and excise group and execute. There input manually what value you need to give credit and save.
    Cenvat Debit
Choose Other Adjustment and here also, maintain the datas whatever you input as above and save.

  • Creation of Excise Invoice

    Hi,
Can anybody give steps in detail to create an excise invoice.
    chan

    Hi ,
Please find the details for Creating Excise Invoices
This is the standard procedure that you follow to create an outgoing excise invoice. You create the excise invoice from a reference document: either an invoice, a pro forma excise invoice, or a billing document.
    Prerequisites
    You have:
Customized the rounding-off indicator for sales transactions
Specified which exchange rate type to use for export invoices
You make both of these settings in Customizing for Logistics – General, by choosing Taxes on Goods Movements ® India ® Basic Settings ® Maintain Company Codes.
    Procedure
From the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Indirect Taxes ® Sales/Outbound Movements ® Excise Invoice ® For Sales Order ® Outgoing Excise Invoice Create/Change/Display ® …
If you want to create the excise invoice with reference to a pro forma excise invoice or commercial invoice, choose Excise Invoice ® Create.
If you want to create the excise invoice with reference to a delivery note, choose Exc. inv. for delivery ® Create.
Enter the number of the reference document.
If you do not know the document number, you can search for it by choosing  Due list.
    Choose .
The excise invoice screen appears. The header data is displayed at the top; the line items, which the system has copied from the reference document, are displayed at the bottom.
    Enter header data as required.
To check if the utilization is done properly and the document is ready for posting, choose .
To enter texts for the excise invoice, choose .
To display the balances of the CENVAT accounts, choose Balances.
To display the utilization details, choose .
    Save the excise invoice.
    Reward if this is helpful.

  • ARE1 creation error - "excise Invoice is not meant for Exports"

    Hello Experts
We are working on ECC 6.0.
We were so far dealing with domestic sales and now have to start with exports (ARE1)
I've gone through many threads and all major configuration has been done according to J91 Block Builder. But I still have doubts.
    1. While doing billing for export sales, when should excise invoice be generated. When generated then should it posted with accounting entry?
    2. We've created a Running Bond & on test basis we have done billing and excise invoice (DLFC) has been generated along with billing.
But when we try to create ARE1 (J1IA101) with reference to above Official excise invoice, we get the message 4F242 ( 00090006 / 2008 excise invoice is not meant for exports). We've noticed in table J_1IEXCHDR for the above excise 90006 that the field Export Type is blank which should otherwise be B (Export under Bond). We have updated manually in the table as B to test and we are able to move ahead.
    3. If we dont generate the excise with billing and try to do it in J1IIN, under utilisation even after changing the type from Local to Export only DEEMED Exports is highlighted in blue and could not be turned to BOND type.
    Please suggest.
    Kapil

    Dear Kapil
when should excise invoice be generated
Once you generate delivery related (document type F8) proforma or commercial invoice, you should generate excise invoice
When generated then should it posted with accounting entry?
No excise entries should not be posted to accounting for export sales
excise invoice is not meant for exports
First ensure that you have a separate series group for exports.
Next in case of your Excise Invoice Type dont have any of the following, then system will throw that error
    -  Deemed export
    -  Export under bond
    -  Export without bond
    -  Export under Letter of Undertaking
Check whether the excise invoice type is generated with any of the above
    thanks
