Infinity slow and unreliable

I've had Infinity 2 a few weeks now. Sadly it's not the 'wonder' product BT would have you believe.
Today I couldn't connect and then when connection was restored it was really slow. I'm paying for BT top product and it's a bit of a let down. Why was I getting a 'BT Wholesale' error page ? My wife has just texted me at work so say the internet has 'ground to a halt'.
Not happy.

is your phone working ok? no problems with line noise

  • Firefox 29 Sucks: Slow and Unreliable

I am totally annoyed with the new FF version. FF 29 is way too slow and it is unreliable. I don't have a powerplant, but until the last update everything was ok, yet now it massively sucks.
The most important error is that the browser becomes unresponsible for a couple of seconds. After clicking (or CTRL+clicking) a link, for 2-3 sec, the browser does nothing, no clicks, no shortkeys (CTRL+L, CTRL+W), no paging (Page Down), no tab switching have effect. For a couple of seconds, FF looses all input. It is especially annoying during a page load when I start typing a text: half of the typed characters are forgotten. I can be tolerant for a slow application, but this unreliable behaviour is unacceptable.
Do you have any idea how to solve this?
I'd rather use IE than this FF.

You can make your Firefox fast again. Try out these steps

  • Firefox problems with slow and unreliable dialup internet connection

I have a slow an unreliable dialup internet connection. This is all that is available in my area -- no form of 'broadband' internet is available, not even satelight (I have too many trees in the way).
What happens is that due to the poor quality of the analog telephone system (very old and poorly maintained copper cables), my modem drops the internet connection from time to time -- it *usually* dials back, but sometimes I have to manually restart the connection. Because the the connection is so slow, it takes a long time to completely load pages and if the connection is lost in the middle of loading a page, Firefox seems to become 'confused' and even if I stop loading the page and then try to reload it, it does not do so. I have an external modem, so I can watch the blinking lights, so I know when data is being transfered (I also have a connection monitor feature as part of my dialup connection software which shows a bar chart of data transfers over the dialip connection).
I *seems* like what is happening is that Firefox has open network connections that become 'void' when the connection is lost and then reconnected and Firefox attempts to re-cycle these connections. Or else it has 'worker threads' that have become confused or wedged.
Are there settings that I can set (eg with 'about:config') to deal with these issues?

Maybe it helps if you toggle the File > Work Offline setting on/off.
You can also try to reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.
*Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)

  • BT Infinity - Slow - and resyncing often

    Hi everyone.
I just got BT Infinity installed today (14.23) It was working fine for a few hours. I ran a speed test and the test varied 9mbs to 60mbs and the ping was 20/22ms. But now the speed has dropped significantly.
Also the hub broadband light turns orange about 4-5 times today. (it's re-syncing)
With my previous ISP (o2) it done the same thing. They changed something I think it was my profile or something to make it stable. Could the old problem be related to this?
    Here are the stats

:/ Thats strange just to check to see of it is a infinity problem or not,  I just did a speedtest here Wired through 200MBPS homeplugs (so slightly slower than a physical wire and got this):
All i can suggest is to try some more troubleshooting to see if its the PC or the HH to blame.
The first thing you could try is to use the maidenhead server on speedtest.net instead of the london one (as it could be the speedtest server giving dud readings )
What Home Hub Do You Have?
What Ethernet cable are you using? (can you try using a different one if you have one)
What web browser are you using?
and what Operating System is your PC running?
Are the latest drivers installed for your PC ethernet controller? (And is it a 10/100MB Controller?)
If you dont get the questions dont worry as I have put them in technical terms.
Just post back if you dont get them and I will try and explain it simpler.
    Hope this helps

  • Photos with airplay is slow and unreliable

Using airplay to display photos on my ATV2, I find that switching from photo to photo can sometimes be slow, or it could just freeze and not respond. Any suggestions? I've tried it with airport express network, would extreme work better?

    Hi,
Tap Settings in your Home screen then tap General / Reset / Reset Network Settings.
    Restart your iPad.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPad. To turn iPad back on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.
    Try ATV2 again.
If that didn't help, try the Extreme.

  • Infinity slow and wont load pages, better if I swi...

I'm experience some very slow loading times with some pages and when loading videos on vimeo, youtube ect.
I also experience problems accessesing some pages at all, getting the connection time out message.
However if I select the BTWifi with FON or the BTwifi profiles from the HH3 I don't get any problems.
Videos load super fast and innaccesable pages suddenly become available.  Whats going on?

same problem here, 3 hubs, 2 allegedly fixed faults at the exchange and four months of complaining and still no improvement. I'm using a wired connection. Unplug the HH from the mains and plug it back in clears the page turning problem but then it's back again. (India told me to do this)
10 hours of chatting to India again this week.
I've had two B hubs and an A type, A type blew within a week
Wish I'd never swapped to BT. They won't end my contract withoit a cancellation charge cos they say there's no problem
    Absolute rubbish service

  • Connection to file server slow and unreliable after upgrading to Leopard

I have a client with a G5 PowerMac (3 GB memory) who has been connecting reliably to a network file server (Windows based) at her company for years. Upon upgrading to Leopard the connections is slower. Or, rather, opening the root level directory is fast. The second level folder is fast. The third level is fast. Beyond that she gets the spinning cursor and it can take a long time to open, even if there are only a couple files inside. Also, navigating back to the first level I see a spinning cursor and "Connecting..." as though the Mac had lost connection with the file server simply by opening the volume. Sometimes she has to Force Quit the Finder (which reports "not responding". Weird. Any ideas out there?

    Hi Greg,
It was my second visit to this company, and it was for something else that I was focussed on. I don't know what kind of server they are running. It's a PC house running Exchange servers so it's probably some kind of Microsoft system. If the problem persists I'l get more info next week when they reopen after the holiday.

  • MacBook Wireless slow and unreliable

I got a MacBook on Monday to evaluate for my employer. The unit I received does not connect to our wireless network when waking from sleep, repeatedly forgets the wep key, and will say it i connected when it hasn't used the wep key, so it doesn't get a valid IP address.
When I do get it to connect briefly, the reception is all over the map and it drops occasionally. I know it is not our wireless router(s) as we have hundreds if not thousands of other machines (Winows, Mac, and even a Linux machine or two) connecting to our network daily. I have seen this kind of problem numerous times on Windows laptops, but I've never seen a hiccup from my 12 inch PowerBook unless there was something wrong with hardware. (the PowerBook is working just fine now)
I have tried setting the MacBook to only connect to preferred networks, creating a new location, adding the key to Keychain Access, enabling interference robustness, Reordering network ports in network configurations, (bluetooth and firewire are now at the bottom, but I don't want to put AirPort at the top because I want it to use the cable connection if one is present. Any ideas? The MacBook has been fully updated with the latest software updates, but other than that it's stock.
I'm also getting many console messages like this: (network names and computer names removed for security reasons)
    Resources/airport: Error: WirelessAssociate2() = 88001006 for network *****
May 24 09:00:26 ****-computer /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Apple80211.framework/Resources/airport: Error: (had password)

May 24 09:00:42 ****-computer mDNSResponder: Repeated transitions for interface en1 (169.254.129.186); delaying packets by 5 seconds
    Any suggestions would be appreciated

The settings on our routers are
A: Not under my control, and even if they were, we're not going to flash settings on hundreds of access points to allow MacBooks to connect. We have no problems with any of our PowerPC macs, although we have seem some weirdness with MacBook pros, which have been fixed by creating a location (which I have done several time)
B: Not causing persistent problems with ANY other machines. (including our intel iMac which has been connecting to the wireless network solidly since we got it) The Windows machines that exhibit this problem are generally fixed after re-adding our wep key to the preferred networks list. (which I have done on the MacBook, repeatedly) I have not installed boot camp on this machine to see if it exhibits the same behavior under Windows.
C: I can connect the MacBook to an unsecured wireless network that we run for guests which does not permit access to any of our network resources. I had it connecting to our secured network briefly yesterday afternoon, by selecting "other..." from the wireless menu in Internet Connect, entering the password and saving it in the keychain. I then put the machine to sleep. When I came in this morning and woke it up it said "None of your trusted networks can be found would you like to join network "network that I joined yesterday afternoon" I said no, because it was already in the trusted networks list, put it to sleep, woke it up again, same thing. If I connect to the network when it shows up in the list, it does not ask me for a password, says it has connected, and gets a 169.x.x.x address. Refreshing DHCP lease does nothing, and I suspect that it is not really connected at all.
D: I am suspecting this is a software/driver issue with the network card in the MacBook, or I got a bad unit. If it is software, I really hope it is fixed soon, as I simply cannot recommend this machine to students if it cannot connect to our secured wireless network. I would like to offer them something that is less than 2000 bucks right off the bat. It does not seem to correctly recognize that the network has a password, as such does not prompt for one. It gives feedback that it is connected, but it does not get an IP address. This has happened in other areas of campus, so it is not the wireless access point around my office. I'll probably call Apple Support this afternoon and see if they can give us any suggestions.
    Thanks.

  • BT Infinity 2 very very slow and cutting out

    Hi,
BT contacted me some months ago offering me a free update to get faster broadband speeds on the condition that I signed a contract for a further 12 months.  I agreed to this but since then the speeds have been getting slower and slower and now at time cut out completely.  Hardly an upgrade is it.
I've removed the game console and have less tablets now using the broadband, so I now have much less connected to the broadband yet it is still slower than before the upgrade.
I've tried having a live webchat to get the problem sorted but of course the signal keeps on cutting out.
    Anyone else had any issues?
    Thanks

Good afternoon John1975, and welcome to the forum.......
Can you put your telephone number into http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.welcome and post the results (after removing your telephone number) ?
Can you log-in to your homehub and post the first 12 lines that show under the "helpdesk" tab, assuming that is, that you have a Homehub 5 ?
Can you carry out the "quiet line" test ? Using a corded phone plugged into the test socket on the master socket, dial 17070 and choose option 2. There should be no crackles, popping, buzzing, etc, in fact, it should be quiet........
If you found this post helpful, then please click the star on the left, after all, I'm only trying to help........

  • BT Inifinity getting slower and slower

Please forgive the slightly long post...
I had BT Infinity installed nearly a year ago and was initially promised (based on line checks) a 28 Mbps connection. This was achieved for a week or two until the speed started dropping and finally stabilised around 19 Mbps. I called BT several times and each time the helpdesk staff would perform some line tests (which came back with no faults) and reset my IP profile, after which speeds would improve for a week or two before dropping again.
In the midst of this, I was contacted by BT and offered Infinity Option 2 with a promised speed (again, based on line tests) of around 68 Mbps. So I agreed and my account was upgraded.
As before, the connection started off at around 46 Mbps but, after a few weeks, stabilised at around 35 - 38 Mbps where it remained for several months and I was happy enough (although I would've preferred the promised speed). The improved speed meant I started happily watching TV and movies on services like Netflix and Sky Anytime+.
A few weeks ago, however, I noticed that I started getting regular pauses and extended buffering when watching streamed content. So I ran the speedtest on www.speedtester.bt.com and it came back with a speed of 16 Mbps. I tried again at different times of the day over the next few days and always got speeds of between 15 Mbps and 19 Mbps. In between tests I tried rebooting both the router and the modem.
A few nights ago I lost connection completely for an hour or so, but it came back eventually.
This morning I noticed that my general web browsing was slower and performed another test. This time my download speed was assessed at 9 Mbps and I was presented with a request to change my broadband username and perform an additional test step, which I attempted to do. Unfortunately, although I could see the router had connected correctly with the new username, the tester kept saying that it couldn't perform a test at this time and I should try again later.
I've been retrying the test over the last couple of hours and I keep getting the same error message. The error persists even if I restart my browser and try the test again from the beginning, either with my existing broadband username or the test one.
So I'm back on my 9 Mbps connection for now and feeling somewhat hacked off, both at paying for a 68 Mbps service that I'm not receiving and because the testing tools provided by BT seem somewhat unreliable.
Please could someone suggest what might be wrong with my connection that causes the speed to degrade over time? I've read the threads about BT's systems revising the IP profile down, and realise this might be the cause, but it seems ridiculous to reduce the speed of a connection (that's been happily working at 35 Mbps+ for months) and never try to increase it again, unless I phone them of course.
I can confirm that the modem is plugged into the master socket, the computer is connected directly to the HomeHub using Cat-5e cable and that I'm not running any other software or using any other Internet connected equipment whilst performing the tests. I've done a quiet line test (as had been suggested by an engineer in the past) and the line sounds almost silent to me. I would like to check the SNR, etc. of the connection but this doesn't show up on the HomeHub 3 as it did when I had a HomeHub 2.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    James

A very helpful engineer arrived on Friday and did a full test of my line, checked all the joints back to the cabinet, the cabinet itself and the connection to the Exchange and couldn't find any faults. He then noticed that I had an older revision of the VDSL modem which apparently should have been replaced due to known problems. The modem was replaced, my profile reset and my connection was back up to 50 Mbps out of a possible 55 Mbps, where it remained for the rest of the evening. I was very happy.
Unfortunately, the next morning I awoke to find I had no broadband connection at all. It remained stubbornly unavailable for at least an hour, after which point I had to go out. It was back up when I got home.
Since then, the connection has been down for varying periods, between ten minutes and an hour or two, once or twice a day (it could be more but I'm out at work) almost every day. Performing my first speed test since the engineer's visit shows that, as of this morning, my profile has already been reduced to 33 Mbps, of which I'm receiving 30 Mbps. I have not disconnected or reset the modem or the router since the engineer's visit.
Whilst I appreciate that this morning's speed is within standard service parameters, I'm worried that I'm going to continue seeing the speed reduce over the next few weeks (as before) and that it's also nowhere near the speed I was told my line should be able to support. On top of this, the regular interruptions to the service are also extremely annoying.

  • My MacBook pro is slow and keeps on randomly shutting down.

I got it in 2011 and its updated. I recently have been using my computer a lot for work and school and as soon as I go on certain apps and sites (ex. Mail, Word, Gmail, Preveiw, ect.) it gets extremly slow and the circle loading sign comes up for a long time. Then it blacks; it doesnt shut down or sleep, but the screen just goes blank. I don't know if it has anything to do with my batery, or some sort of MAC virus, but its driving me crazy.  I am not sure what to do.. any ideas?
I also live in a dorm for college and the internet is shared, my computer always works worse when i am using a internet connection there; could that be a factor?

Back up your documents and everything else important to you. The symptoms you describe may presage an impending disk failure, and you should have backups anyway.
If you suspect the hard disk may be failing, try repairing it with Disk Utility:
Boot OS X Recovery by holding ⌘ and r (two fingers) while you start your Mac. At the Mac OS X Utilities screen, select Disk Utility. Select your startup volume (usually named "Macintosh HD") and click the Repair Disk button. Describe any errors it reports in red.
Depending on the particular error, it may recur even if Disk Utility reports that it has been repaired. If it does you should consider the disk unreliable, and make plans replace it.
When Disk Utility finishes, restart your Mac and test again for operation.
If problems continues to occur please determine if they also occur in "Safe Mode":
Safe Mode or "Safe Boot" is a troubleshooting mode that bypasses all third party system extensions and loads only required system components. Read about it: Starting up in Safe Mode
Starting your Mac in Safe Mode will take longer than usual, graphics will not render smoothly, audio is disabled on some Macs, some networking functions are disabled, and some programs (iTunes for example) may not work at all.
To end Safe Mode restart your Mac normally. Shutdown will take longer as well.
Reply with the results of the above.

  • Since updating Firefox what use to take me 30 minutes to do now takes almost 2 hours to do, it is slow and sluggish, what can I do to speed things up?

Had no problem with Firefox, when I upgraded to Firefox4, things started to be extremely sluggish and slow. Tried to uninstall and reinstall Firefox, however, that really messed things up, could not start computer. After finally getting it to work again, things just work so slow and sluggish. What can I do to get it working as it did before?

You can upgrade your iMac's memory to as much as 6 GB. I recommend you get all you can afford. The 1 GB you have is not an abundant amount.
Purchase memory from Crucial or OWC / MacSales. Memory from other sources has been known to be unreliable. Installing it yourself is simple.
I want to add an external hard drive to save my work, and plan to use Time Machine; I do have Firewire. However since my system is a 10.5.8, will everything still work after I upgrade the operating systems, and is there a best way to do that? I want to start with the right external hard drive.
That's a good idea. All you need to do to make Time Machine work is to purchase an external hard disk drive and plug it in. Time Machine pretty much does the rest.
FireWire is preferable but USB is OK. Find an external hard disk of at least twice the capacity as your existing internal hard disk. OWC sells a large variety of external HDs.
Memory at 10 items 165.97GB available. What does this mean?
That is not memory, it is the amount of available storage remaining on your iMac's hard disk. 166 GB is a lot.

  • We purchased infinity blade and when we try to sync it on our itouch 3rd gen it says not compatible for this ipod

We purchased an app called infinity blade and when trying to sync it to our 3rd gen ipod touch a message pops up on computer the it is not compatible to this ipod?

Let me guess; you bought an iPod Touch that was labeled as an iPod Touch 3rd gen 8 gigabyte. first off that doesn't exist, apple resold the 2nd gen 8gb when the 3rd gen came out, as it would be a cheaper option for people. the 2nd gen is severely slower than the 3rd gen, and so infinity blade can not run on it, as many current games cannot as they are too powerful and barley work on a 3rd gen already, playing choppily and they lag a ton. Check to make sure the app requirments in the side of iTunes store says your device can work. Many stores labeled the re-release or the 2nd gen, which included the then current update which would have cost money for older devices, as a 3rd gen for some reason, even though Apple did not. If you do not believe me, check on apple for the list of iPod's that exist, labeled "Which iPod do I have?" also, you can check to see if you can update to iOS 5.0.1, the current iOS version, which can only be put on 3rd gen iPod touches and above, without a hack, as there is no more that can be put on older devices, as the new features require a faster CPU and more RAM, again, not enough in a 2nd or lower.

Since installing LTR 5.4, which I've now upgraded to 5.6, I've encountered repeated slowness and malfunctions in operations, especially when using the Compare View function and the Tab key to open and close the right and left side panels.  Such problems never arose during two years of using LTR-4 and nothing else has changed on my computer.  I have a pretty simple system with only a few plug-ins, which are usually not in operation.  I have 12GB of RAM in my Windows 7 PC.  I could illustrate these problems with screen shots if you would tell me how to submit screen shots.  Otherwise I will try to describe the problems in words.
The problem is clearly cumulative, growing worse as usage time passes.  Compare View feature gradually slows down and eventually seems to choke as my work session proceeds. If I Exit LTR and re-enter and start all over, things will work normally for maybe 30 minutes, but then the Compare View feature begins to become very slow to respond.   In a recent example with my screen full of thumbnails in Library mode I highlighted two images to compare. LTR started to open the Compare View screen by first having the top row of thumbnails disappear to be replaced by the "SELECT" and "CANDIDATE" words in their spaces  (but no images), but Compare View never succeeded in gaining control of the screen. After some seconds the top row of thumbnails reasserted its position and the Compare View windows disappeared. But LTR kept trying to bring them back. Again the top row of thumbnails would go away, Select and candidate would reappear, try again, and give up. This went on for at least 2-3 minutes before I tried to choose File and Exit, but even that did not initially want to respond. It doesn't like to accept other commands when it's trying to open Compare View. Finally it allowed me to exit.
To experiment I created a new catalog of 1100 images.  After 30-40 minutes, the Compare View function began to operate very slowly. With left and right side panels visible and two thumbnails highlighted, hitting Compare View can take half a minute before the two mid-size  images open in their respective SELECT and CANDIDATE windows. When the side panels are open and two images are in the Select/Candidate spaces, hitting the Tab button to close the side panels produces a very delayed response--25-30 seconds to close them, a few more seconds to enlarge the two images to full size. To reverse the process (i.e., to recall the two side panels), hitting Tab would make the two sides of the screen go black for up to a minute, with no words visible. Eventually the info fields in the panels would open up.
I also created a new user account and imported a folder of 160 images. After half an hour Compare View began mis-placing data.  (I have a screen shot to show this.)  CANDIDATE appears on the left side of SELECT, whereas it should be on the right. The accompanying camera exposure data appears almost entirely to the left of the mid-screen dividing line. Although the Candidate and Select headings were transposed, the image exposure data was not, but the data for the image on the right was almost entirely to the left of the line dividing the screen in two.
Gurus in The Lightroom Forum have examined Task Manager data showing Processes running and Performance indicators and they see nothing wrong.  I could also send screen shots of this data.
At this point, the only way I can process my images is to work 30-40 minutes and then shut down everything, exit, and re-start LTR.  This is not normal.  I hope you can find the cause, and then the solution.  If you would like to see my screen shots, tell me how to submit them.

  • Multiple (but separate) domain problem & Apple's slow and useless response

I am having problem with multiple (but separate) domain. I opened a ticket.
Here is Apple's slow and useless response and my follow up.
This follow up is not going to resolve the issues I am having. The sites are not in one domain file. I have split them into separate domains. I found that the simplest change to any page made the publishing process extremely and reasonably slow. If I updated a single site, iWeb republishes the whole conglomeration; hardly the most efficient way.
I have several directories under the ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/ directory with separate Domain.sites2 files for each site:

With the previous version of iWeb, I navigated to a specific ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/ directory, selected the Domain.site file, and opened it. This would open iWeb with the selected domain. Several of the sites have their blog page with the RSS subscribe option.
Once I made the update, all I usually had to do was publish site and all was well. Occasionally, I would have to do a publish all if I changed domains. All in all, I had no problems with publishing once I found the right steps to be able to maintain multiple domains.
Now, using the default publish or publish all process, all I get is the last site I published. In order to get things semi-functional, I published a site, then I would go to iDisk/Web/Sites/ directory, select the folder name for the site I had just published, then copy it or move it to iDisk/Web/Sites/iWeb directory. This was rather slow and I suspect it is not an approved solution, but it semi-worked. My sites are back up, but they are not fully functional.
Is there anyway to get back to using the ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/ directory (separate Domain.sites file for each site) process to publish multiple sites? If not, is there any way to suck in the various domains back into one? If that is possible, will it take hours to publish the combined 2-3GB like it did with the previous version?
How do I reverse the 'personal domain' process? I do not want to do this at this time. I just wanted to see what the steps were. I have done the first step, but not the second.
I was glad to see some of the changes made in the upgrade (web widgets, maps, html snippets, theme switching), but I am too happy about the changes made by the upgrade process. In the past, I upgraded my Apple related stuff as soon as it came out. Based on this upgrade, that won't happen again.
It took you guys 5 days to get back to me (during which time several of my sites were down) and I do not believe the information you provided is going to solve my specific problems. I am very disappointed with the results of this upgrade. Clearly there was inadequate testing of this product before it was released. I cannot recall seeing the Apple discussion forums with hundreds of topics and thousands of posts within a week or two of a new release. Apple had to upgrade iWeb in the first week, another poor sign.
Apple is beginning to slip back to the pack; all vendors all below average. Apple is getting more like Microsoft everyday. First Apple delays the release of an OS upgrade so they can concentrate on a freaking phone, now you release software that is so buggy it should be classified as beta at best.
Some of the changes/problem I am seeing since the upgrade (in addition to the problems mentioned previously) are:
layout changes; some of my pages no longer look the same; same of the changes are so bad the pages are unreadable
broken photo pages; some of my photo pages no longer work; some of them have no text or pictures
file/page name changes; why would Apple change the location of the files; now my domains are not pointing right location; special characters (like spaces, ampersands, etc.) are handled differently in this version; specifically, I see that spaces are changed to underscores (_); iWeb used to use '%20' for spaces; what was Apple thinking?
broken 3rd party themes; I know Apple is not responsible for 3rd party themes, but you should certainly be aware that they exist
Based on what I am seeing online, most of the people who are complaining about major iWeb issues are not newbies; based on the technical details in the threads, there are clearly some experienced people who are trying to figure things outw. I have lost many hours trying to figure this mess out. I now have to review hundreds of pages to try get things to look and work the way they did before the upgrade. I have had to handle dozens of phone calls and emails from my viewers and subscribers trying to explain the situation.
I googled 'iweb 08 *****' and got nearly 50,000 hits! I think Apple better get in front of this train before it gets run over.

    Dear David,
I understand that you are experiencing an issue viewing some of your websites published in iWeb:
I have examined all of the published pages and they appear to load and function as expected. If you published your website to .Mac, you can visit it either of these ways:
    - In iWeb, click the Visit button in the lower-left corner.
    - Enter the following URL into a web browser:
    http://web.mac.com/daviddawley/
If you have published more than one website, the URL above will take you to the default website, which is the first website listed in iWeb. To visit another website you have created in iWeb, use the following URL format:
    http://web.mac.com/daviddawley/iWeb/YourSiteName
Using this form, the web addresses for the two sites you mentioned would be:
    http://web.mac.com/daviddawley/iWeb/FuzzyLlamaJuniorOptimist.com
    http://web.mac.com/daviddawley/iWeb/pAwesomeProductions.com
To change the default website, simply open iWeb, and in the Site Organizer, drag the desired default website to the top and republish to .Mac.
NOTE: Be sure to give each website a unique name. This will help prevent one website from overwriting another. For further information, refer to the following article:
iWeb: Do not use similar names for your sites

If you still experience issues with the website, try the following troubleshooting steps:
    WAIT SEVERAL MINUTES
If your website has movies, you may need to wait several minutes after going to the website before the movies are ready to play. The QuickTime Player icon indicates that a movie is still loading.
    CLEAR YOUR BROWSER CACHE
If you use Safari, you can clear your browser cache by choosing Empty Cache from the Safari menu. If you use another browser, consult that browser’s documentation if you need assistance in clearing your browser cache.
    UPDATE YOUR BROWSER
Make sure you are using the latest available version of your web browser when viewing pages published in iWeb. If you use Safari, you can check for updates by choosing Software Update from the Apple menu. If there are any available Safari, Security, or Mac OS X updates, install those updates and try looking at your website again.
If you use another browser, consult that browser’s documentation if you need assistance in updating the browser.
    TRY ANOTHER BROWSER
If you use a Mac, try viewing your website with Safari or Firefox. If you use Windows, try Internet Explorer 6 or Firefox. Firefox is a free download available here: http://getfirefox.com
    TRY ANOTHER NETWORK
If possible, try viewing your website from another network or Internet connection. If you can successfully view the website from another network, please consult your network administrator or Internet service provider (ISP) to resolve this issue.

Sub Issue : I can't publish to .Mac from iWeb
Comments : I was interested in forwarding one of several iWeb based sites to one of my domains. I wanted to see what the steps were. I believe I inadvertently started the process for moving the site to www.nfdoi.com site. I have several sub directories under the ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb directory with separate domain.sites files (now domain.sites2).
I was going through all of my domain.sites files and opening them in iWeb08; then publishing them. Somewhere along the line everything blew up. Most of my iWeb sites no longer function, It appears that every other iweb site other www.nfdoi.com is down EXCEPT the last one I published. I have made a mess of things and would appreciate any help.

Just got off the phone with Apple Support.  There procedure was the following:
    1.  Go to the Apple TV, select settings, general and scroll down to reset.
    2.  Select reset and then select reset all
Apple TV will go through a restart after the reset and you will have to select your network then log in with your network or Airport Express password.  You will then have to turn on home sharing and It will then ask you for your Apple ID for the iTunes store and then the password.  At this point you may not see your library, because the Apple TV wants you to turn on home sharing on your home computer that is hosting the movie library.  Turn off home sharing on that computer, restart iTunes and turn on home sharing again.  After this is done you should be able to see you library listed under the computer.
After going through these steps, when I select an HD movie from my iTunes library the movie comes up after about a 5 second delay.
Hope this helps!  I am back up for business.
