InfoPackage: ABAP Selection or alternative selection from file

Hi
I have a file containing the bill number of 84 documents that I want to load. I have to load throug different layer (from one ODS to another ODS to another ODS to a Cube etc.) and therefore I would like to avoid to insert these document number in each info packages selection criteria. I was actually looking for a way to do a selection via this file that contains the bill number but this does not seams to be possible. Therefore I came to think about an ABAP routine (whick I could copy into each info package) in which I could copy the bill number. But I am not sure how to do a selection in an ABAP routine within an info package.
Can someone please tell me how it work and how i can select the bill number examples mentioned below.

I am working on a report in Crystal (2008) which will prompt user to input a value, but if nothing is entered then it will select relevant database value.
I created a string parameter prompt called "{?Pack_Qty_Overide}" and used the following formula.

However, when I check the formula in editor, it says that there should be a number at the end of "Else" clause.
What am I doing wrong?

OITM.SalPackUn is Numeric(19.6). When I used parameter input type as number, my formula returned error that "A number is required here" at the "if .... " statement.
So I used the formula you provided and it worked, such that when I input a quantity in parameter prompt it would display that, but if no override value given, the field remains blank - i.e. it does not display the value stored in OITM.SalPackUn.
What am I doing wrong?

Alright, the question I have has to deal with how to link an app to a website to download files. How, or is it even possible to link individual picker view selections to download an individual file from a website or other location such as dropbox using xcode. Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but if anyone can help or can send a link to a place that can, I would greatly appreciate it!

I am not getting anywhere with deploying my application or
applet.
I have set up my bc4j project. It contains all my VO info,
links, application module. (proj a)
I then have another project with DbInfo in it(has all my rowset
info), Multiple Frames, and my Applet.java file.
Actually I have an Applet.java file and a Application.java file
because I was seeing if both/either worked. Anyway they seem the
same, except for that extra window that comes up when you run the
applet.
I follow the steps in the oracle directions (from earlier post).

with applets being served from a different server than the
database. So a stand alone application was my front runner, but
I haven't gotten either way to work yet.

Desktop icon for a file on network shows blank in Windows 8.1, if selected the second icon from the library

I have a strange issue on my Windows 8.1 machine. The icon for for an executable file on the network shows blank, if I select the second icon from the library. (File->Properties->Change Icon and select the second icon - This file has two icons)
If I re-create the IconCache.db, then it is showing correctly. But I do not want to do this every time.

It indicates your Icon Cache is corrupted and you need to rebuild it.
Open the command prompt window, type each of the following and after every command, hit the Enter button:
cd /d %userprofile%\AppData\Local
attrib –h IconCache.db
del IconCache.db
start explorer

I have to write an abap routine for date selections in the infopackage,
There are two date begda and enda.
Do i code for BEGDA and fill in the begin date using routine and use another routine to fill the ENDA.

If you have two info objects BEGDA and ENDA in the Info package for selection
then you will have to write seperate routine for each of them.
If you want to give single value for each date field then update only the field l_t_range- low otherwise if you want to give range then you can update the internal table fields l_t_range-low and l_t_range-high .

One way would be to open the PDF with Acrobat XI Pro. Then from Tools - Pages use the feature that supports page extractions to a new PDF.
Use this new PDF as the "source" PDF for Acrobat's File - Save As Other to export to a supported file format.

WD ABAP: selecting a tree node from program and scroll to it

Hi guys!
I am using a tree in Web Dynpro ABAP. I would like to select/highlight one node from the coding, without user interaction. Is it possible? I couldn't find any (obvious) way so far...
If it is possible, then let us go a little bit further. Suppose, that the tree grew so big, that cannot fit in the container. Suppose, that you can scroll the tree up/down to see all the nodes. Now, if you mark one tree node from the coding, is it possible somehow, that you scroll the tree automatically, so that the selected node is visible?
I am interested in any solutions within WD ABAP.
If you can only answer one of the questions, that is also appreciated!

thanks for the advice, it works, I have already tried it. The tree node in the lead selection appears highlighted.
The scrolling doesn't work, though. I have tried to put the tree in a scroll container, and I have also tried it without (relying on the browser to scroll). Neither of them worked, it doesn't scroll to the selected node, it remains offscreen. Can you think of a way, to bring it automatically within the visible range? Ideas, anyone?
Actually we would like to implement a search function in the tree, and show the result within the tree (highlight the node, expand, if necessary, and bring it on the screen, if off-screen)
A negative answer is good enough for me, so that I know, that I can stop looking for a solution. Thanks in advance.

SELECT on TIMESTAMP field from ABAP with EXEC SQL

I'm trying to get a field of one table which is defined as TIMESTAMP. MaxDB parameter DATE_TIME_FORMAT is set to INTERNAL. When I do the SELECT in SQL Studio I get ISO format 'YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS.MMMMMM' back. So I tried a SELECT with ISO in WHERE clause, but I'm always getting a shortdump with this error:
Database error text........: "POS(82) Invalid date input value"
Database error code........: "-3065"
Then I did a SELECT without a WHERE clause in ABAP and got value '06-FEB-09' back from this field. So I tried with this ABAP statement and got no shortdump, but I also need to add time and not only the date.
EXEC SQL.
SELECT recv_time INTO :l_time FROM ztest WHERE sent_recv_time = '06-FEB-09'
ENDEXEC.
I'm using Native SQL because the SELECT is on a table which is not located in SAP Schema User. "SELECT recv_time FROM ztest WHERE recv_time = '2009-02-24 10:02:55.888000'" works in SQL studio, but not from ABAP.
Does anyone know which format I need to specify in the WHERE clause?

The Get Info dialog should look something like this:
The "Change All" button should be at the bottom of the "Open With" section. This is how it appears in Snow Leopard. Other OSX versions many be slightly different.
If something is changing the setting back to something else you may have a deeper problem than I am able to help you with. What is appearing in the Open with area before you correct it?
If the problem is still persisting, instead of double clicking on the file to open it, try right or control clicking and then select Open With and choose the proper app from the list.

Hi! I am trying to print pictures from iPhoto. I follow the directions and select a photo and click file-print-but it doesn't give me any size/printing options. Instead I get a message that says "no themes available". Do I need to install themes?

To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

File Select Popup not restricing multiple file types

I have a Bitmap picture in which I call GetBitmapFromFile right after this popupfile select. So I want the user to pick one of the folowing filetypes seen below.
I have the following call

But when this is ran, it prompts the user showing all file types and all file types are allowed.
Doing the following:

The prompt shows only those file-types, but the default stays on .emf and the user must select the correct file-type at the bottom they are trying to select.
If I do the following (with commas and restrict file-extension):

It shows the correct files, but when clicking one, it says the file-type must be .emf
The only workign way I found was to do the last statement, but not restrict the file-extension. (This would give the user the option to change the file-type)
What I want is the file-type allowed list to be one of those file-types, only show files with those extensions and not require/allow the user to select which file-type they will choose.
Can this not be done?

I see no way of customizing FileSelectPopup the way you want: either you restrict extensions, and you are limited to "Default file spec" contents (in case you put a filetype list in this field, the last one is used, as you already noted) or you allow to change extensions, but the user must choose which one to use an "*.*" is always present.
I am afraid you will need to post-process operator's choice and prompt again in case of non-allowed extension.
As an alternative you can use the toolbox path control, which can be tailored the way you want but it isn't as easy for the operator as FileSelectPopup. It iìultimately is a string control with customized features to offer an alternative in selecting files / paths. You can tailor it by doing so:
    SetCtrlVal (panelHandle, PANEL_STRING, "c:\\myDefaultPath");
    errChk (NewPathCtrl (panelHandle, PANEL_STRING, 15, 1));
    SetPathCtrlAttribute (panelHandle, PANEL_STRING, ATTR_PATH_CTRL_FILE_FILTER, "*.bmp;*.ico");
This control permits you a limited filetype choice but forces the user to more impactive operability to select the desired file.
There is a sample project that uses this control in <sampledir>\userint\custctrl\pathctrl.
Another alternative is the File Browser toolslib control: a customized tree control which can be restricted to multiple file types; it is relatively slow on large file systems -at least at the first execution.
The control maintains the native context menu of the original tree control: I suppose this can be tailored as in native control but I haven't tested it: if it's possibleit may help the user in finding the correct file to select.

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
Alternatively, depending on exactly when and why the library went missing, there may be a more recent .tmp file in the main iTunes folder that can be renamed as iTunes Library.itl to restore the library to a recent state.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
I've noticed more of these missing library posts of late and a common factor to most since I started asking is AVG Anti-Virus. It seems in some cases it might be at least part of the reason why the library file disappears. Try excluding the iTunes folder from any AV scanning process.

Please help with the query to generate a output which selects the code,meaning,inuse for each table in the user_table that has "CODED" as a part of table name.
User table has some 800 table that contains CODED in the tablename.
Desc of the table:

Not 100% sure what you want. If you want to see all the tables that have all three of those columns, then you could do something like:

Selection in data load from infoprovider

Hi Guys,
In BPC NW 7.5 we have to load data from infoprovider allowing users to select data (like for dimension TIME) by BPC prompt. We found two solutions solving partially our problem. In fact, users have to modify manually the selections.
SOLUTION 1:
To load data we want use the process chain /CPMB/INFOPROVIDER, but we know that it is not possible insert selections in the /CPMB/INFOPROVIDER prompt (as describe in this post Re: Package LOAD INFOPROVIDER, Select input ENTITY).
To select data we can use an intermediate infocube as a BW workaround (as describe in this post Re: BPC 7.5: Delta Load when loading from BI InfoProvider ) to have a source with only the selected data.This could be done by a selection in the DTP between the source infocube and the intermediate infocube. This solution is not dynamic, in fact, in this case users have to modify manually the DTP selection.
How can we allow users to insert this selection in the DTP by a BPC prompt?
SOLUTION 2:
To select data we can use a transformation file inserting a selection like
SELECTION = <Dimension1_techname>,<Dimension1_value>.
It is not dynamic, in fact, also in this case users have to modify manually the file selection.
Do you know how to allow these selection by a BPC prompt to avoid these manual changes?

Hi D-Mark,
This is definitely a place where it would be nice to see some additional functionality added to BPC. Variable replacement in the transformation file based on the data manager prompt would probably be the best thing to have in the software.
In any case, getting back to your question, manually modifying the transformation file selection is the most common practice on BPC projects. The blog linked by Naresh is a fairly elegant way to do this, though it doesn't completely get around the fact that it's easy to forget to do and easy to get confused about what is going on in the transformation file.
A third option that no one has mentioned is to do a SELECTION statement in the transformation file based on navigational attributes in the source InfoProvider. This approach can make the selection statement dynamic based on the contents of BW InfoObjects. Still not very user-friendly, but if you can put an automatic process in place to update the BW navigational attributes this might meet your need without having to set up an extra BW staging InfoProvider.

With navigational attributes (the profit center attribute of cost center, for example) it would be something like:

"Try Selecting a Different Printer or File Type" Error - iPad2 - Officejet Pro 8600 - ePrint error

Greetings...
I just got an Officejet Pro 8600 and I've been trying to get web pages to print using HP ePrint from my iPad 2 (iOS 7.0.6). I go into the ePrint app, go to web page of choice, and then click on my printer option to print. It renders on screen and then throws out the following error:
"Try Selecting a Different Printer or File Type" "Officejet Pro 8600 [5124FC] doesn't support this file type."
I can use ePrint from the iPad to print pictures from camera roll.
This only is problematic when I try to print web pages (I tried amazon.com for test).
I have no problems doing this from my iPhone...only the iPad.
I've tried rebooting device and trying again....same thing.
Anybody know how to fix this? I really want to be able to print web pages from my iPad.

Thank you for the update. I have to say I'm surprised and disappointed that the uninstall and reinstall did not resolve the issue, especially since you can print the page from your iPhone.
I have spent some time researching this and working with my colleagues in HP's Cloud Services and we have a couple of suggestions/questions.
Do you get the same error when you try to print the web page using Apple's AirPrint feature?
Please ensure the iPad is connect to your home wireless network and try to print again.
Please try changing the settings in the ePrint app before printing the web page. Please ensure that the paper quality is set to normal (see screen shot below) and that the paper size is set to letter (see 2nd screen shot below).
Please let us know how it goes.
