Informix and WebCrystalViewer XI CR2

We have a report made in CrystalReports XI CR2 also uses crystalReports web component libraries.
Datasource of this report connects to informix database it runs just fine on the desktop viewer ,but throws an exception when we try to run it in webviewer.
JDBC Error: A syntax error has occurred.
any suggestions would be appreciated.

The command file works wonderfully, but my hope was not to completely change each old report but simply convert them and reuse as much as possible.
It seems that the processor that converts the linked tables and the select logic does not function in the same way as version 8.5 does to create syntax for the query when it puts it into the odbc driver.
After more play I found that if I did not use alias names in the sub-select syntax (sql expression editor) I could get the data I needed.
However I have not converted the more complicated reports that use the sql case statement syntax.
I was hoping some one could look at the way Crystal Reports XI was handling the build of the select statement and see what changes where made that seem to no longer let me use the same sql statements I used in 8.5

  • Applescript to automate the laboreous matching and moving jpg/CR2 files

    Hi
I used to use MS Basic (at school) and was (really) good at Hypertalk but have done no scripting for years (since they killed Hypercard)
I am a photographer (as a hobby) and will take 1000-2000 photos on a weekend. I shoot JPG & CR2. The JPG are much quicker to evaluate and that's why I use them. I will normally keep about 5%. At present I end up manually picking out the CR2 files which match the JPGs I've sorted. This takes up to an hour of horrible, tedious, eye-straining work. I've searched for scripts which would automate this but haven't found one that works ...
I would like a script which would, for instance, get the names of all the JPG files in one folder and find the  (CR2) matches in a second folder and move those (CR2) files to ether a third folder or the folder with the original JPG files are ...
I'm not totally useless at following scripts but also don't know enough Applescript to find out how to make the scripts I've seen which purport to do the job described work ...

This is actually pretty straightforward to do. The following script and its comments should give you an idea.
-- first prompt the user for two folders:
-- 1: the folder of JPEGs to keep
-- 2: the folder of matching CR2 files
set JPEGFolder to (choose folder with prompt "Select the folder of JPEGs to keep:")
set CR2Folder to (choose folder with prompt "Select the folder containing the .CR2 files:")
    -- now work your magic
    tell application "Finder"
      -- iterate through the JPEGs
-- the 'whose name extension...' is optional, but will help filter out erroneous files
repeat with eachFile in (every file of JPEGFolder whose name extension is "jpg") as alias list
-- work out the base name of the file (i.e. without the '.jpg'
set basename to (characters 1 through -5 of (get name of file eachFile)) as text
-- now append ".CR2" to the base name, which gives us the corresponding .CR2 file
set CR2Filename to basename & ".CR2" as text
-- now we know the file we're looking for, so copy it
-- we use a 'try' block to catch any errors (e.g. missing .CR2 files)
      try
-- this is the line that does the copy
-- note that it copies the .cr2 to the JPEG folder
-- change the 'to' parameter to some other folder if you want
--  the copies to go elsewhere
duplicate file CR2Filename of CR2Folder to JPEGFolder
      end try
      end repeat
    end tell

  • Can we have DB Links betweeb Informix and Oracle ?

    Hi All,
Can we have DB Links between Informix and Oracle ?
I am planning to write a PL/SQL procedure in Oracle
which will pull records from a remote Informix database.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Cheers,
    Srini

    There are really two options:
Generic Connectivity - functionality bundled with the database which uses ODBC / OLEDB to access other data source
Transparent Gateways - extra cost products which allow access to other relational databases (provides better performance, more advanced features)
    For more info see: http://www.oracle.com/gateways/gateway_bundles/faq.html

  • "Canon SLR EOS 40D"  *Aperture and Canon's CR2 RAW files not supported.*

    Hi,
I just started playing with Aperture, and with my brand new *Canon SLR EOS 40D* camera. One problem, Aperture is not recognizing the RAW file format. I am using RAW Fine**-L. Even with that it doesn't even see the JPG shots in Aperture. Went to the Canon site and it shows CR2 format. IPhoto 08 sees the JPG files just fine, It also sees the RAW files just doesn't know what to do with them. I know that RAW files are not supported on IPhoto 08. The camera is only been out a few months, but still lost on why Aperture doesn't support the format. Maybe I am missing something. Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks in advance....

For some reason or another Adobe Photo Shop 7 is no longer supported in Leopard. When you lunch Photo shop 7 in Leopard. You get "An unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occurred because of a Program error. Photo Shop will now exit." even if you reinstall the program, still you get the same error. Photo Shop 7 is Not the latest and greatest, but in most cases, that is all you need. Not sure if they plan on a fix, so for now I put that program on a shelve.
    Hope that helps

  • INFORMIX and ORACLE on LINUX

    Hello Stephen,
some time ago we talked about Forte for LINUX. Now I think it will need
not a long time that Forte is available on LINUX.
INFORMIX and ORACLE has officially announced that they offer their
Database on LINUX. Now it is only a question of time, that Forte
got a business-case from big Firms which want to see Forte on LINUX.
In GERMANY I know that Mercedes use LINUX for car-development and
Sixt-Budget use LINUX for their car-rental (worldwide).
I think, if Forte is availaible for LINUX than a big beng goes through
the IT-Market. Many firms just wait for a OO-orientated 4GL-Development
environment to distribute their business-processes to many little
servers which are cheap and powerfull. It is than a question of
less money to use a big machine or just 10 or 20 LINUX servers (which are
    cheaper and faster).
Sorry for my enthusiasm on this mailing list, but i'am

    Hello Stephen,

not a supported platform at this time, and we cannot discuss unannounced
products. (or some such thing). Privately, talking to some of the Forte
people at FORUM this year, I was distinctly left with the impression that
it will be a cold day in hell before such a port is done.
INFORMIX and ORACLE has officially announced that they offer their
Database on LINUX. Now it is only a question of time, that Forte
got a business-case from big Firms which want to see Forte on LINUX.Well, I haven't talked to our Oracle sales rep, but I did go to their web
site and I couldn't find anywhere where you could download it, or much more
than a "how great it is" statement. Based upon my prior dealings with
Oracle, and some well documented cases, I would be surprised if you could
get it today - delivered and working, that is.
Informix, on the other hand, I just downloaded (not installed yet, but at
least I have in my hot little paws something that says it will be Informix
    on Linux).
One of the problems that Forte faces in the marketplace is the cost of the
product. Yes, it does a lot (personally, I'm quite a fan). But, some IT
shops - especially the ones that have capable people on staff - are
beginning to look at the distributed object characteristics of Java and
asking "Why can't I do what I want with Java RMI, etc.?" When I talked to a
Forte salesman at FORUM, his only response was "Well, those really aren't
Forte customers anyway!" As Java adds things like transactional objects,
transparent database access (yup! persistent objects in a relational
database - without all the coding - and with performance too!), JavaSpaces,
Jini, etc. I think it's a "head in the sand" approach for Forte to ignore
this. To me, Java presents some very compelling features. And, according to
some friends I have inside of Sun, basically all of the brightest people in
Sun have all migrated over to doing the Java stuff, so it's only likely to
get better. People like Rick Cattel (databases) and Jim Waldo (distributed
object systems) who have been giving this stuff lots of thought for
years!! That's why it's so well thought out when you see it for the first
    time.
The only glaring omission from it seems to be a generic event queue
mechanism. Fortunately, given the other stuff Java has to offer (RMI, event
classes, etc.) you can build a very good one in about a man week. In fact,
Java has one, they just didn't take a "high" enough superclass - they
limited it to AWT events. If they had made it all events, you wouldn't even
    have to build that.
Now, don't get me wrong... Forte is planning to incorporate lots of really
cool Java stuff in their next release (preannounced at FORUM). But to me,
that's not the issue on a larger scale. The real issue is this: are
environments which are cheaper incorporating a lot of what Forte does - and
the answer is Yes! Incidentally, there is a version of the Java environment
being developed for Linux under the GNU license, for the express purpose of
making it open and keeping it free (and open). Someone recently told me
that it is now available, but I haven't confirmed that yet.
In GERMANY I know that Mercedes use LINUX for car-development and
Sixt-Budget use LINUX for their car-rental (worldwide). My perception is that the Europeans are more progressive and cooperative
than us in the states. Most of the really good Linux help I've gotten on
the net has been form Europe (including a wonderful sendmail
    site/expert). :-)
I think, if Forte is availaible for LINUX than a big beng goes through
the IT-Market. Many firms just wait for a OO-orientated 4GL-Development

servers which are cheap and powerfull. It is than a question of
less money to use a big machine or just 10 or 20 LINUX servers (which are
cheaper and faster).Well, as I was indicating above, people who are cost conscious might be
searching for lower cost alternatives to Forte itself.
Sorry for my enthusiasm on this mailing list, but i'am
so happy to hear from this and want's to cry it out all over the world:-)))))

  • Help - Catalog lost CR2's and/or split CR2 from JPG

    Hi,
At some point in the last several months (when not clear), my catalog entries that used to be "CR2+JPG" have had one of two things happen to them.  This problem is affecting many thousands of images and 4 years worth of work.
    A)  The CR2 is no longer known to the catalog which now shows only the JPG.  Any Develop module edits I had performed are shown in the history and my keywords and other metadata settings are still there, but showing on the JPG (as the CR2 is no longer there).  In this case if I re-import the image, I get a new catalog entry for "CR2+JPG" but this entry does not have the prior edits or metadata.  The prior "JPG" only entry is still there.  This is my main problem.  I need the CR2 to be known to the catalog (either with or without the JPG) with all it's edits.
    B)  The second symptom, which is annoying but not as critical as the first one, is that catalog entries that used to be "CR2+JPG" are now showing as two stacked entries, one for the CR2 and one for the JPG.  In these cases (at least on the images I've checked so far) the edits are showing on the CR2 but not the JPG.  I can live with this since I really don't need the JPG's anyway and can probably figure out a way to remove them from the catalog if there's a corresponding CR2 or DNG.
This does not appear to be an import issue sine new imports are working OK (I'm getting  "CR2+JPG") when I have both in the same file during import.   Rather something happened to the catalog at some point in the past that corrupted its information.  My main goal is to repair this corruption.  After that, then perhaps we can  try to figure out when and how it got corrupted.
I've opened a support case with Adobe, but they suggested I use the forum as well.  My case with Adobe is still in level 1 with more or less pre-canned answers.  Hopefully I'll get it escalated up to level 2 or 3 along the way as I don't think this is within the capability of level 1, unless it's a common and known issue.
Any help or insights from this forum will be greatly appreciated as I have  no way of rebuilding this from scratch.
    Thanks -- Dan

    Lee Jay,
    Thanks for responding.
As you point out, the "treat JPEGs next to RAW as seperate files" check box only deals with the import operation and does not change images already in the catalog.  In my case older imgaes in the catalog that had been "CR2+JPG" (I'm 100% sure of this) and are now either just "JPG" or are two images, one being JPG and the other CR2.  This has only occured with images in my older folders with the cut off point being several months ago.  I'm thinking maybe it happened when I upgraded from LR2 to LR3 which required a catalog conversion as part of the upgrade process, but I can't be sure of that.
I am 100% sure I have no filters active and am not using smart collections.  As I go from folder to folder, my newer folders correctly have "CR2+JPG"
    Thanks -- Dan

  • Informix and servlets

How do I load drivers or connecting to informix database using servlets or JSP? Please help.

use JDBC and a JDBC driver that supports informix. at http://industry.java.sun.com/products/jdbc/drivers you can find several JDBC drivers that support informix.
using the JDBC API you can load a driver via
    Class.forName("com.informix.jdbc.IfxDriver");
    and connect via
    Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection(url, "myLogin", "myPassword");

  • Photoshop Elements 10 and RAW files (CR2)

Hello, Elements 10 is unable to recognise RAW files from my Powershot G15 but is fine with EOS 600D. Camera RAW has been updated but no difference.
    Any help/advice?
    Regards

    Hi Paul
Its not a good idea to use 16 bit images as there is limited functionality in Elements. The files are also very large. The Adobe raw format (DNG) will give you a more efficient file size as it does not contain a jpeg preview like a CR2.
Why not give it a try by downloading and installing the free DNG converter to convert your raw files to the Adobe universal Raw format. The latest version 8.2 is fully backward compatible and the files will open in camera raw and in all versions of PSE (keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)
Windows download (.exe file) click here DNG Converter 8.2
Mac download (.dmg file) click here DNG Converter 8.2
You can convert a whole folder of raw images in one click. See this quick video tutorial:

  • Organizing and Deleting Raw CR2 Photos in Pictures

I want to delete photos from my hard drive to free up space.  At one point I thought I would be interested in serious photography and I stored some photos in Raw format to use in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.  I have a lot of photos in i-photo and I have some of the same photos in Pictures folder and My Pictures folder.  Does anyone know if the files in Pictures and My Pictures are the same files as the ones in iphoto or are they different. I have been trying to delete all the CR2 files and I get a message that says I don't have access.  I was able to delete the CR2 files from iphoto.  I was also able to delete some from Pictures but I can not get them deleted from My Pictures.  I have changed the settings in all the photos to connect to iphoto instead of Adobe Photoshop and Bridge.  I also had the photo reference in Lightroom but I deleted that as well.  I am also finding that even after deleting lots of files from iphoto the size of the iphoto library does not decrease.  So I am concerned I am not really deleting the actual files.  I would like to use only iphoto going forward.

These applications will identify and help remove duplicate photos from an iPhoto Library:
    iPhoto Library Manager - $29.95
PhotoSweeper - $9.95 - This app can search by comparing the image's bitmaps or histograms thus finding duplicates with different file names and dates.
Duplicate Annihilator - $7.95 - only app able to detect duplicate thumbnail files or faces files when an iPhoto 8 or earlier library has been imported the library.
DeCloner - $19.95 - can find duplicates in iPhoto Libraries or in folders on the HD.
DupliFinder - $7 - shows which events the photos are in.
iPhoto AppleScript to Remove Duplicates - Free
PhotoDedupo - $4.99 (App Store) -  this app has a "similar" search feature which is like PhotoSweeper's bitmap comparison.  It found all duplicates
Duplicate Cleaner for iPhoto - free - was able to recognize the duplicated HDR and normal files from an iPhone shooting in HDR
Some users have reported that PhotoSweeper did the best in finding all of the dups in their library: iphoto has duplicated many photos, how...: Apple Support Communities.
If you have an iPhone and have it set to keep the normal photo when shooting HDR photos the two image files that are created will be duplicates in a manner of speaking (same image) but there are only twp apps that detected the iPhone HDR and normal photos as being duplicates:  PhotoSweeper and Duplicate Cleaner for iPhoto.  None of the other apps detected those two files as being duplicates as they look for file name as well as other attributes and the two files from the iPhone have different file names.
iPLM, however, is the best all around iPhoto utility as it can do so much more than just find duplicates.  IMO it's a must have tool if using iPhoto.

  • Lightroom 1.41 and Canon 50D CR2 files

    Greetings!
Can Lightroom 1.4.1 support 50D CR2 files? I can see the thumbnails in the import window but it goes through the motions then tells me the files are either damaged or unsupported. I have the Camera Raw 4.6, and PS and Bridge (CS3) can see them just fine... Getting money out of the company in this economy is tough enough...

Not directly. the 50D was brought out after 1.4.1 was released. You can get support for the 50D in LR 1.4 simply by converting your RAW files to DNG using the free dng converter (download link here: http://www.adobe.com/products/dng/ )

  • PES 11 and EOS 70D CR2

I purchased Photoshop Elements 11 after being advised by Adobe (live Chat) that my Canon EOS 70D CR2 files would be recognised and I would be able to edit them. Alas it appears I have wasted my money. Is there any plan to update the camera raw plug in to include the Canon EOS 70D CR2 format?

Adobe doesn’t give information about future plans, usually, although they have said that the 70D will be supported by the Adobe Camera Raw plug-in 8.2.
Currently the only version of the Camera Raw plug-in that supports the 70D is the ACR 8.2 RC (release-candidate, kindof a public beta) on Adobe Labs website, which is not something you can automatically install into PSE11 as their release candidates only have installers for Photoshop, itself.
Normally I’d just say wait for the final version of ACR 8.2, but the complication is the timing, where usually Adobe releases a new version of PSE in late summer or early fall (in the next month or two), so they may not bother with creating an installer for PSE11 now that PSE12 is presumably just around the corner.
    The choices available are:
Wait and see if PSE11 will update to ACR 8.2 plug-in or not,
Return PSE11 and get PSE12 when it comes out, or
Use the DNG Converter 8.2+ to convert the CR2 files to DNGs that should be openable in older versions of ACR like the one with PSE11.
Right now the only DNGC 8.2 you can get is also from Adobe Labs and isn’t the final release so it only has preliminary support, but you can still try it:
    http://labs.adobe.com/
You could also enter the world of Lightroom by downloading the LR 5.2 RC from Adobe Labs and then using Edit in PSE with LR Adjustments if what LR offers isn’t enough—the Raw adjustments you can do with LR are more complete compared with those from the ACR plug-in hosted under PSE11.

  • Destributed Transaction between Informix and Tuxedo using WLE!!

    Hi,
We have a client who is using tandem for years, and we suggest him to use the
J2EE solution for the next generation!So...we need to know whether the WLE
support the JDBC ->informix(or any other database) and jolt (or JET) can be
commit or rollback in a transaction!!It's very important for us to know
which product(WLS or WLE and Jolt) to order!!
    Thank you very much!!
    Best Regards,
    Rex

    Hi,
Jolt does NOT propagate transactions from WLS to Tuxedo. So in your example, the Tuxedo service is either called outside the context of a transaction, or if you started a transaction with Jolt, the Tuxedo service executed in the context of a separate transaction unrelated to the WLS transaction you started in the servlet. The ONLY way to get transaction propagation from WLS to Tuxedo is by using the WebLogic Tuxedo Connector. WTC will properly propagate the WLS transaction context to Tuxedo and any called Tuxedo services will occur within the context of a single distributed transaction.
To answer your question specifically about how to keep the transaction status after the Jolt exception, you would need to suspend the transaction prior to making the Jolt call. My guess is that the servlet container is rolling back the transaction as a result of the exception. Suspending the transaction won't affect the way transactions are working right now with your application, although it makes it clearer that the Tuxedo call isn't part of the transaction.
I hope this explains what's happening and hope that you weren't expecting the Tuxedo service to be part of the transaction.

  • JDBC on Informix and national characters

Hi, I have this problem, I'm reading a varchar column from an Informix database using JDBC, but I got a problem with the national encoding.
