InfoSet - Aggregated Value of Key Figures Field in BEx

Hi,
I have created an InfoSet which is comprised of 1 InfoObject and 3 DSOs. I can see there are more records in the InfoSet than in the BEx report for the InfoSet and in the BEx report the value of an amount field summed up for the duplicate records fall within the same date range. Example:
In the InfoSet I see:
Name       Valid From     Valid To         Amount
Record 1: James      16.06.1998     31.12.1998     25000
Record 2: James      16.06.1998     31.12.1998     25000
For the corresponding record in the BEx report for the InfoSet I see:
Record: James     16.06.1998    31.12.1998     50000
It is correct that this particular record is displayed once in the report but the value of the amount field shouldn't be added up. Do you have idea of this?
You help on this is much appreciated.

Hi,
U want to be added the amount field or u dnt want to be cumulate the value..

  • How to avoid aggregation on a key figure

    Hi SDN,
Is there a way to avoid aggregation on a key figure? We have a situation where we have multiple records for a particular order/item. So a key figure like Net Price simply adds up which is wrong. We just want to repeat it and not aggregate.
    Any solution?
    Thanks for the help.
    SM

    Hi,
    Try this,
    in InfoObject Aggregation Tab:
    Aggregation :SUM
Exception Aggregation: No Aggregation (X, If more than one records Occurs).
else try with more than one value

  • Use of Aggregation tab of key figure

    Hello Gurus ,
Please tell me use of Aggregation tab of key figure , and where it affects ?

    hi,
check the below links for aggregation and with examples..
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/47/607899dcce6834e10000000a421937/frameset.htm
To enable the calculation of key figures, the data from the InfoProvider has to be aggregated to the detail level of the query and formulas may also need to be calculated. The system has to aggregate using multiple characteristics. In regard to a selected characteristic, the system can aggregate with another rule for each key figure (exception aggregation).
During aggregation, the OLAP Engine in BI proceeds as follows:
           1.      First, standard aggregation is executed. Possible aggregation types include summation (SUM), minimum (MIN) and maximum (MAX). Minimum and maximum can, for example, be used for date key figures.
           2.      Aggregation using a selected characteristic occurs after standard aggregation (exception aggregation). The available exception aggregation types include average, counter, first value, last value, minimum, maximum, no aggregation, standard deviation, summation, and variance. Application cases for exception aggregation include warehouse stock, for example, that cannot be totaled over time, or counters that count the number of characteristic values for a certain characteristic

  • Exception aggregation for calculated key figure

Is it possible to have exception aggregation for calculated key figure in BW 3.5? As per Note 1151857, it is possible, however this note applies to BI 7.0.
As per note 152638, it is possible in older version only simple ckfs like 'CKF = Base key figure'.
Is there any workaround to define exception aggregation for complex CKFs in BW 3.5?
My requirement is like this -
CKF = (sales quantity - forecast) %share (sales quantity).
Aggregation for CKF over time should be sum whereas, for all other characteristics calculation of CKF should be done after aggregation(normal scenario).
So, defining exception aggregation of CKF as 'Summation' over time should fulfil my requirement.
I can not use calculate result as 'summation' setting for CKF because of following design of report.
    Report contains structure(characteristic)
    Elements of structure are -
    Last 3 months(April - June)
    Last 3 months - 1 (Mar - May)
    Last 3 months - 2 (Feb - Apr)
    and so on...
When data is aggregated for each element of structure, base KFs will be aggregated and calculations will be done on that.
Changes in the backend are also not possible because, normal aggregation of CKF-alike in backend will be summation for all characteristics.
Is there any way in BW 3.5 to model such a scenario?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Anup Kulkarni

Sum of individual values of CKFs is not same as the Calculation on 'sum of basic key figures(result of basic key figures)'.  - Yes, you are right.
I need to aggregate CKF over time as SUM. However, calculation for result of all other characteristics should be based on results of basic key figures and not the 'Sum of individual values of CKF'.  -
What i understood is that whenever the time char is in row, then result should be simple on the sum what ur getting but when other char are there then it should go for calculation based on the sum of key figure.
If im not wrong in getting ur point.
How can two differenct activites be perofrmed on same key figure depending on the characteristic .....!. For this u have to think some other possibility or let somebody else update the thread.

  • Why do we see only values of key figures of a cube in SE11?

    Hi all,
When we view the contents of a cube in SE11 why can’t we view the characteristics also? Why are only the values of key figures visible to us? Is there any way wherein we can also view the whole contents of the cube i.e. both the characteristics and the key figures?
    Please explain.
    Thank you.
    TR.

SE11 gives you the Table View.
A Infocube is a complex strructure where data is stored in mutiple Tables...
KEy Figure Values in Central Fact Table...Characteristic SIDs in the DIM Table and these SIDs linked to the Master data table values.
So, to be able to read the values , you would need to know how data is organised in an Infocube

  • Key Figure Aggregate in Bex Query based on Charactersitic

    Hi Gurus
I am using BI7.0; but 3.5x BEx tools
I am loading 6 fields from a flat file.  I am loading data for tickets.  I have create an InfoObject that counts the number of tickets.  No problem.  Also I also have key figures that I am assigning the same value to all Charactersitics: 10,30 per ticket.
The Key figures are (Sum) with a Summation aggregation type.
In my Query, the 10,30 aggregate up based on the number of tickets (characteristic) that are available.
Question:  How do I remove/stop my key figures from aggregating up (sums) the values of 10, 30 based on the charactersitic?  I want only 10, 30 to be present regardless of the number of tickets (constant value applied to the key figure).
Should I change my aggregation type?  If so, to what?  I see a number of options, such as Last Number, No aggregation, etc or can I override this in my Query property?
    Thank you

    Hi Client
I would like to know how to avoid aggregation of a key figure in Bex 3.5?

  • How to restrict the Null Values for Key Figules in the Bex Query

    Hi Friends,
I want to restrict the Null values of a perticular key figure in the Bex Query Output.
I will explain in details. i have 3 key figures in my query.. let us assume.. key1 key2key3
    key1           key2                key3
    4                4                   100.00
    5                0                   200.00
    1                0                    19.00
    0                1                    10.00
i don't want to see the the records for which key 2 is 0.
we have a setting in the Bex Query for restricting the Zero values in the query properties. If we enable that setting it will show
    4               4          100.00
but i want the report to display..
    4               4           100.00
    0               1           10.00
can any body guide me. <b>i want to display the values if key2 <> 0.</b>

    Hi AVR,
    nice to see reply.
can you eloborate your view...how can i put the condition.

  • Passing Char Values to Key figure

    Hi All,
I have one issue for Inventory cube.
Every thing is fine with the cube, every thing is fine. since i wanted Last usage date i have enhanced the data source and the date is coming to cube well.
Since i dont want to put the Date as charecter , i wanted to pass the values of dats(char) to dats(kfg).
For example : 0APO_DAT this is char date since i need to pass the values to 0GIDATE(kfg). i mapped directly in the transformation level.
Now the problem is i am getting some dates very well, where ever some cancelled documents(dont know exactly) There the dates are coming as 05/17/4017 instead of 03/09/2009.
can any one Help me out
    Regards
    Ram

    Ram,
Could you please check key figure to check what aggregation level it has. It should have Max and make sure that same aggregation level exist in your transformations.

  • Virtual Key Figures - Field Symbol

    Dear guru's,
We had obtained an ABAP error in the execution of a query when obtaining a virtual key figure. We analyzed the problem and identified the error. We fixed it in our dev system and tested ok.We then transported the includes ZXRSRU02, ZXRSRTOP, ZXRSRZZZ to our quality system and the problem persisted. The error occurs because the structure c_s_data has not updated to include the added object and therefore assigns the structure to the field symbol and not its value.
I have checked the versions of these includes and they are identical. What could be the possible causes for this problem and solutions?
    Thanks and Kind Regards,
    Alex

We transfered many times the corrected code and still the probem persisted. If my understanding is correct the structure c_s_data is created by BW according to the appends you make in the code (...RU02).
The problem was resolved when we regenrated the queries. If anyone can explain why this is so, please let me know so that I may have a better understanding of this process.
    Thanks and Kind Regards,
    Alex

  • Removing Drill Down is not summing up the values for key figure

    Hi ,
While analysing the data in BW report , I have encounter the problem in getting the correct data.
BW report is showing two records for material , having different customer ie. customer1 & customer 2 .
If i remove the customer from the Drill down , then values is not summed up , rather it is showing the values only for customer1
    Scenario:
    With  customer drill Down:
Material    Customer   Key Figure1   Key Figure 2
    Mat1       Customer1     1000          2000
    MAt1       Customer2     3000          4000
    Without customer Drill Down
    Material  Key figure1  Key Figure2
    Mat1          3000          4000
In the query designer there is restriction of customer on two characteristic in default value pane.
The issue is happening for particular material , for other material , BW report is working fine.
Please suggest , to resolve the issue.
    Regards,
    Sudheer

    Hi Sudheer,
What properties are set on your key figures 1 & 2.  Could they be set to Min or Max.
There may be an aggregation level set if they are calculated key figures that is worth checking.
    With regards
    Gill

  • Fixed value Statistical key Figures based on Profit Centers - 9KE5

    Hi all,
We have a Statistical Key Figure that is of Fixed Value category, based on Profit Centers. We are manually entering it in 9KE5.
Since it is of fixed value category, am I right to say that: once we enter in one period,  it will automatically be updated in subsequent periods? But the current situation is, it does not update in subsequent periods, only the period which we enter.
Does anyone know how to correct this? So that once it is updated in 1 period, it will be automatically be updated in subsequent periods.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
Yes, I saw the field and chose 1- Equal distribution.
I then select period 1, enter the quantities and save. Go back to 9KE5 and choose period 2, I expect the quantities entered in period 1 to be reflected in period 2. But this is not the case- there is no value for period 2.
I also managed to change the selection screen to have Period as select-options. If I choose Periods 1 to 12, the quantity I entered in 1 period is divided into 12, and it will only show that divided quantity. However, if I choose another Period, Period 3 for example, no value is shown.
Is this the correct behaviour? I am expecting the quantity entered in period 1 will also be shown in any other period.
    Thanks!

  • How to calculate the value of key figure by considering other char or kf

    Hi
    My requirement is like this:
I have a key figure which gives me the planned issues and receipts but i know that if only from locaton is blank  and to loc is filled then that are receipts and if both the from and to location values are filled then it is issues,
can you pls let me know how i 'll put this logic in th reporting bex and how i achieve this by user exit or any other way
    thx
    rubane

Create two RKF, restrict first with [ from = '#' ] to get the planned receipts, and restrict the second with [ from <> '#' and to <> '#' ] to get the issues.

  • How to avoid negative values of key figure

    Dear all,
I have to create one query based on ODS, in which i will use one key figure, which has negative as well as positive values. In report, i want to avoid all negative values or make them zero. Is it possible?  Please guide me for the same.
I cann't make any modification to the ODS.
    Regards,
    Pravin.

    Hi,
To make negative values as possitive you can use the formula abs().
    ie:  abs(key figure)
You can also create a condition in the query to show only values greater than or euqal to 0. Make it active, then you will get all values greater than or equal to 0.
Now if your intention is to show the negative values as 0 then use the formula as stated above.
    Regards
    Govind.

  • Convert characteristic values in key figures in a query

    Hello all,
i have a query which provides some key figures and also some probabilties (defined as characteristics). I want to multiplicate the probabilities with the key figures and therefore I need to convert the characteristic values for the different probabilities in key figures.
What is the best wys to do this.
    Any help would be great.
    Best Regards,
    Stefan from Munich/Germany

    Stefan,
You need to create a formula variable of your characteristic.
In the Create Formula screen right mouse click on Formula Variable and go through the create process.
The characteristic needs to stay in your query (you can change it's display to No Display) to pass it's value to the formula.
Once you have done this you can use the formula Variable in any other formula.
    Regards
    Gill
