How to avoid negative values of key figure

Dear all,
I have to create one query based on ODS, in which i will use one key figure, which has negative as well as positive values. In report, i want to avoid all negative values or make them zero. Is it possible? Please guide me for the same.
I cann't make any modification to the ODS.

Hi,
To make negative values as possitive you can use the formula abs().
ie: abs(key figure)
You can also create a condition in the query to show only values greater than or euqal to 0. Make it active, then you will get all values greater than or equal to 0.
Now if your intention is to show the negative values as 0 then use the formula as stated above.

Aggregation :SUM
Exception Aggregation: No Aggregation (X, If more than one records Occurs).
else try with more than one value

Negative values of key figures to be displayed seperately

Hi,
I have a requirement where , the postive sales figures are to be displayed in one column and Negative sales figures are to be displayed in another column ina BEX report.... There is only one key figure ( sales )

If the value is negative , then it should display in seperate column in teh report..
I could not understand (KF < 0) * KF -
If the slaes figure is -1233 does this mean i should created a CalKeyfig
with (Sales < 0) * Sales ??

I have a key figure which gives me the planned issues and receipts but i know that if only from locaton is blank and to loc is filled then that are receipts and if both the from and to location values are filled then it is issues,

How to I get Values of key figure by customer if cube data is not by cust?

HI All,
I have a situation where I need to change query : This query is created on a Multiprovider gives Actuals sales for previous period and Forecast for future period. The query is designed at aggregatred sales dist by Material.
Now the Business requires this by Sales District. I did this by creating a Variable filter.
Now the issue is For Each material is 4 rows and one of the row is Standar price. This data is availabe for Actuals by sales district but of Forecast this is not avilabel by sales district.
I want this data in report - for If I execute report for aggregated of all sales district I can see this figure but If i filter by sales district I cannot see as the data is not availabe by Sales district. Now as Std cost is same of materisl for any sales district. Can some one help is how do I get this data populated in report even if I select by Sales district ?

Hi Azael,
In the How to Papers, you will find a Guide on how to take a Sanpshot view of the Stocks(How To Handle Inventory Management Scenarios in BW). Basically if you implement the Guide, you will have another cube called ICSNAP1, which will contain stock quantities /values at the end of each month. You will therefore have to take stock at the end of the last month from that cube and add up the relevant receipts and issues to arrive at the current Stock or Stock as on a particular date.

How to use Restricted or Calculated Key figure with Characteristics?

Hi,
Query has characteristics 'Indicator' which has values 'X' and 'Y' depending this value, the Key figure Quantity(which is always +ve) has to be shown on the report either as -ve or +ve.
Do I use Restricted Key figure if so, how? Or can I manage with a Calculated Key figure?

Hi Kamala,
You can create 2 RFKs each in which you are restricting the KF with char value X and Y. For the one that needs to be -ve, create a CKF with this RKF and multiply it by -1 in the formula. Then you can create a new CKF that will add this CKF and the other RKF.

It is not possible to create the variables on Key figures directly. But we can create a formula variable with processing type 'User Entry' ,SO that the user entered value can be used in the calculations of the query.

Why do we see only values of key figures of a cube in SE11?

Hi all,
When we view the contents of a cube in SE11 why cant we view the characteristics also? Why are only the values of key figures visible to us? Is there any way wherein we can also view the whole contents of the cube i.e. both the characteristics and the key figures?

SE11 gives you the Table View.
A Infocube is a complex strructure where data is stored in mutiple Tables...
KEy Figure Values in Central Fact Table...Characteristic SIDs in the DIM Table and these SIDs linked to the Master data table values.
So, to be able to read the values , you would need to know how data is organised in an Infocube

or you can write two read statements to read the internal table in wrk area.
read table <table xxxx> with key field1 = ' xxx'.

How to write conversion routine for key figure?

Our customer has this requirment:
we need to know the last time of some TV program in BEx report, If a TV program last 500 seconds, we need show the key figure like this: 00:08:20, If a TV program last 100000 seconds, we need show the key figure like 27:46:40 (27 hours and 46 minitues and 27 seconds), If we define a key figure as time, BW system will report a error that say it is not acceptable time. If we want to define a integer, but we need display it like hhmmss format. We know we can write conversion routine for char. but I don't how to write conversion routine for key figure.   Please give me any hint if any other solutions?

If you want to do in Transformation Layer :
You can use routine ...break up the seconds into minute hour and seconds
you will have to handle few cases in this:
let say your variable lv_seconds holds the number of seconds you want to convert to hour min and seconds
DATA: lv_seconds type i,
           lv_hrs type i,
          lv_sec type i,
          lv_min type i.
lv_hrs = lv_seconds / 3600
if lv_hrs >= 1.
lv_min = (lv_hrs - trunc(lv_hrs))*60
here again handle seconds if min >60.
else.
lv_hrs = '00'.
lv_min = lv_hrs*60
It is just hint ..how you can manipulate the seconds to get it...you will have to think about the complete algorithm

You can do this method. In the screen , create a text field of CHAR instead fo creating an INT4 field.
I have created a field of CHAR of name say TEXT.
In the main program,
declare a variable of the same name ie. TEXT.
data: TEXT(5) TYPE C.
In PBO, just assign the negative values.
It will work.Since there is automatic conversion between character and integer data types, it will work for positive values as well.

How to create a variable for key figure (value will be entered by the user

I want to create one query, where the user has to entered a max value when the query is started, so that only the query rows will be listed, where the key figure value (integer) of the row is smaller than the max value given.
How can i define that variable which has to start at the begin of the query; and also the restricted key figure iin consideration of the KF variable.

Hi Arnaud,
Go to Conditions-> Right click -> New Condition -> Edit -> NEw -> Selct the KEy figures from the dropdown( the KFs that are used in the rows/columns) -> Select Less than from the operator drop down (less than is for you case) -> Values, there is an option to create a variable -> Select the variable -> transfer. It will appear on the top.
Save & Execute, you will find it in your selction criteria.

How to calculate percentage based on key figure maximum value

I need your expertise on a query 'issue' I'm facing. Let's say I have a query getting me the Number of Open Items per Week (starting from billing document's Issue Date).
My client wants to be able to see the percentage per week and not the actual number.
So, what I have is below:

And what I want is below (in italics):
Wk"OI %"
1 "100% " (i.e. 68.801 / 68.801 * 100)
2 " 96,34% " (i.e. 66.288 / 68.801 * 100)
3 " 86,25% " (i.e. 59.344 / 68.801 * 100)
4 ......
5 ......
Is it possible to achieve sth like this by altering some key figure properties or in any other way?

First u need to create a calculated Key Fig globally. You can do this at the extreme left end of the query Designer. Just right click on the Calculated key Fig and say New Calculated Key Figure
Give the description of the Key Fig and in the formula section just put the the key fig . 'OI Nr' in you case
When u say ok it will open the properties of the key fig there u can see Enhance>> at the bottom. Click on that make the exception aggregation to maximum and refernce characteristic for the one which u are having the values 68.801, 66.288, 59.344, ..
Save this calculated key fig
now in the Columns create a new selection under the key fig.
drag the newly created calculated key fig in this new selection and say ok.
Now right click on this new selection, go to the Calculated Single Value as drop down and make it Normalize-Sub Totals
Tick the checkbox Also Apply to result
and select Calculate Along Columns.
Save the query and execute. This should solve youe issue
