Inheritance in Case Record Model

Hello Experts,
I have a Record Model with a number of Structure Nodes & each Structure Node in turn has a number of Model Nodes. The requirement is such that the document attached in one of the Model Node has to be inherited / copied into the similar Model Nodes in the Record.
Any clues on how do I achieve this.
Many Thanks in Advance for ur time & extended help.

When we try to click on document in linked objects and try to attach document it gives pop up to create new attribute , but actually it should have allowed document to be attached to credit case.

    Hi,
    Goto RSA1 and then Transport Connection -> In SAP Transports select Object Types-> Query Elements -> Then select Query->Give Technical name of the query and then select for transfer. In the right side you can choose the components which you wanted to transport.

    Hi
    i was able to successfully implement Digital Personnel files and Record Management for my scenario, but now question is:
    i have created a record for personnel using "SE38--> Report (RPASRCREATEDPF)"  or "Tx RPASRCREATEDPF)  after a while i decided to add a node to my record model , how can i update my personnel records to new record model?
    i need to do it for several staff and this is not logical to change record for every individual staff. Also when i deleted a record and recreated it all of old Archived and Processed Document gone.
    Any Idea?
    Regards,

    Hi Pragya
    Thank you for your very helpful answer, i tried that report and it has changed my records but problem is, i am using SAP sample record model , i have changed some Nodes Name and it seem name change has not taken effect in my records, those nodes that i added to my record model is correctly transferred, but some changes has not affected my personnel records.

  • Record Management. Record Model relation

    Hello,
    Can anyone explain me what is the relation functionality in the record modeller?
    I mean the part between rol visibility and attributes.
    Help sap says:
       "Optional: Enter a relation. The relation expresses the relationship between the element and the record above it. Input help is available for selecting the relation. (You maintain relations in registry maintenance in the dialog box for Area, tab page POID Directory.) "
    You can define this relations using SRMREGEDIT in the Direct POID tab but I can't find any example where you can use this part of the record modeller.

    Hi,
    Relation is a business semantic given to a linkage between two objects. For eg, in SAP Records Management which is used by PLM in the backend, a record created using a record model will have a IO(instance of) relation written for it. Similarly, if you have attached an object to a record then a CT(contains) relation is written with record being the main object & linked object being subservient object. This is just to understand the relations & does not necessarily affect the behaviour of the objects.
    thanks & regards,

  • CAS - Record Store instances Consistency- Guided Search V 11.1

    Hi,
    I'd like to get some feedback in terms of using the traditional Forge/pipeline process Vs new CAS-based process with record stores (forge less process) with “Store Merger” crawler. The latest oracle documentation recommends using CAS for any data ingestion process, however I’d like to know how it performs in a real production environment/known bugs/Are there any big retail customers who is using this new process.
    Planning to push the products and the dim val records in the record store instances using the record store java client directly from the backend/PIM (Product information management system). (Product data flow is : PIM >> Enterprise BUS >> Record Store instances). Would like to know the stability/reliability of record store instances.
    Any help is appreciated
    Thanks
    Mohamed

    Sorry, no, you can't back up the CAS record stores with that approach.  The two approaches to backing up CAS are to:
    - Shut down the CAS service and back up the /CAS/workspace/state folder
    - Use the recordstore-cmd.sh script to read data from the record stores
    Page 151 in this document has some more details.   ( http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E55325_01/CAS.110/pdf/CASDevGuide.pdf )
    Note that you can't replace the underlying database with one of your choosing as it's all baked into the product.

  • Inheritance in Web Dynpro Model

    Hello
    This is the current situation:
    I have 3 JPA entity classes much like these (including constructors, getters, setters, ...).
    @Entity
    public abstract class OuComponent {
    @ManyToOne
    private Ou ou;
    @Entity
    public class Ou extends OuComponent {
    @OneToMany
    private Collection<OuComponent> ouComponentCollection;
    @Entity
    public class Person extends Component {}
    In the database, OuComponent has a discriminator column.
    This structure appears to work in a normal web module and an EJB Module.
    In Web Dynpro, using a model, I can create a new Person and attach an existing Ou to it (through the inherited property ou from OuComponent).
    However, when I try to display the information, I recieve the following error:
    java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Cannot perform write operation 'setRelatedModelObjects' on target role: Class 'Person' is not compatible to class 'OuComponent' of target role 'ouComponentCollection' in model class 'Ou'
    It appears that Web Dynpro does not realise that Person is actually a subclass from OuComponent. I think it simply checks the discriminatorcolumn for the word 'OuComponent' and throws this exception because it finds a related entity of the type Person instead of OuComponent (even though, as stated, Person IS-A OuComponent. Web Dynpro just seems to ignore it).
    How could I bypass this?
    Thanks for your feedback

    Hi Vincent.
    Have you resolve this problem? If yes, could you post the solution?

  • Inheritance in OPA data model

    Hi all,
    I have a problem which OPM does not seem to handle well, but maybe I am lacking knowledge concerning some functionality. I am using a client patched 10.1 version of OPM.
    Situation:
    - I have an attribute in Global, which states the possibility to export an entitlement. This attribute is deducted using multiple compositions of conditions on both "child" level and "applicant" level. These are both entities in my data model.
    - However, some of the conditions are the generic for both roles. Therefore, what I really want to do is check attributes on "person" level and relate these to "the child" and to "the applicant".
    - Now, I've created an entity "the person" with a relation to "the child" and a relation to "the applicant".
    This raises an issue with the For/ForAll operator
    Issue:
    - To use the "For" operator, a -to-one relationship is needed. However, I can have two persons of which one is a child and one is an applicant. So, I need a - to-many relationship for person (from Global)
    - If I use the "ForAll" operator to 'work around' this problem, the goal attribute will stay inconclusive as the relationship from person 1 to the child is known, but from person 2 to the child in unknown (and vice versa for the applicant)
    Question:
    It seems to me that this is an issue of inheritance which OPM cannot handle. I am wondering:
    - has anyone dealt with this problem and/or does anyone have a solution?
    - is it likely that the entity containment functionality of OPM 10.2 + will be able to solve my issue?
    Thanks & regards, Els

    Given that I don’t know the details of your source material, and I don’t know Dutch, perhaps the best option is if I show you how to get a simple inferred relationship set up and working. Hopefully then you’ll see what it’s doing and know how to set it up for your own rulebase.
    1. Create a new empty test rulebase.
    2. Add a Properties file. Add a regular one-to-many containment relationship from Global to ‘the person’.
    3. From within the Properties file, have Global selected and in the right hand pane select the Relationships tab.
    4. Right-click in an empty space in the right hand pane and select ‘New Relationship’. Use these settings:
    - Source: Global (This will already be set, and will be read-only. If it isn’t already set to Global, then you didn’t do Step 3.)
    - Target: the person
    - Relationship type: Inferred (many-to-many)
    - Text: the adults
    5. Save the Properties file.
    6. Create a Word rule doc.
    7. Add a membership rule for the inferred relationship. A membership rule specifies the logic used to decide which instances are members of the inferred relationship. The parts in italics below are just examples of what the red configuration text will look like when the rule is compiled.
    +[IsMemberOf(“person”,adults)]+ the person is a member of the adults if
    +[p1 >= 18]+ the person's age >= 18
    In my example, I’m just basing it on age. It could be based on just about anything. Try to name your inferred relationship appropriately. I called it “the adults” since that’s what the group is. If I needed to have a group of people >= 18 years and who are female, then I’d call it something like ‘the female adults’, and obviously I’d include gender in the membership rule.
    8. Add some simple entity calculation rule such as these:
    the number of adults in the group = InstanceCount(the adults)
    the total amount of savings of the adults in the group = InstanceSum(the adults, the person's savings amount)
    9. Build and Debug. Work in the Data tab, not the OWD tab. You’ll be able to see more detail about what’s going on if in the Data tab.
    10. Add three instances of ‘the person’. Make two people older than 18 years, and one person younger than 18 years. Give each of them a different savings amount.
    11. Look at the Global results and you will see that the InstanceCount rule calculated ‘2’ and the InstanceSum rule only added up the savings from the subset of people who are adults.
    My general advice on this is:
    If the logic you need to do over subsets of entity instances is relatively simple, and can be easily accommodated by existing Instance functions, then don't bother with inferred relationships. Just set up the regular containment relationship and use the existing entity functions. Here are few examples of less complex entity calculations which can easily be handled without inferred relationships:
    - count the number of adults
    - calculate the total income of all household members who are over 25 years
    - find the age of the youngest male child
    So my example rulebase above is actually one for which I wouldn’t use inferred relationships if that was all I needed it for. I just wanted to pick a simple example to explain the concept. To do the example above without inferred relationships, you’d just need to use InstanceCountIf and InstanceSumIf and put the conditional logic in each calculation rule.
    If the logic you need to do over subsets of entity instances is much more complex and either it's not possible without inferred relationships, or it's just easier/more concise with inferred relationships, then add inferred relationships.
    Cheers,
    Jasmine

  • Error for baseline read of CAS record store

    From time to time I get the following SOAPFaultException when trying to do a baseline read of a CAS recordstore. The component manager shows the recordstore is running. Partial updates are able to do delta reads. However baseline processes can not do a baseline read. So far the only way around this is to delete the recordstore, re-create it, and then perform a full crawl to populate it. Any ideas on what may be causing this, or a more graceful way to handle?
