If you are new to OAF, start with sample page creation of OAF dev guide. For customizations also refer to dev guide and there are a couple of threads discussion with detailed steps for the customization process in forum also.

What are the steps to make it seamless for a customer to use the install program and then use the installed program?

I wrote an install program (.exe) that is downloaded from a website. When run, it 1) leads a customer to browse to a directory, and 2) copies files (.exe, .dll, etc.) from a website to that directory. When I run, the installed program works.

Near the bottom of the page is "You can unlock all the features of InstallShield by paying to upgrade to the full version of InstallShield." Where do I find info that describes the differences between the "free" and the "full"
versions?

The default feature does support the task for your requirement, so there is no need to pay for the other features unless you want to use some feature which is not free.

InstallShield LE not available with VS 2012 RTM? shared, even through there is a link to InstallShield LE in the New Project dialog under Deployment solutions, but it belongs to third-party that I would recommend you consider posting this issue

Step-by-step custom Credential Mapping using weblogic 10.3 SSPI

I am trying to implement custom Credential Mapping using weblogic 10.3 SSPI. Am sure that few of you have already implemented the same. But here my questions in reagrds with the implementation
Right now, I have below
1.MyCredentialMapperImpl implements CredentialMapperV2
1.Overridden getCredential and gerCredentials method.But I am not sure what are all the other methods , I should implement here.
2.MyCredentialMapperProviderImpl implements CredentialProviderV2
Questions.
1.How to get ContextHandler to pass as param in MyCredentialMapperImpl -->gerCredentials method.
2.Should I need set up a database after deploying the MBean ?
3.How do I execute above implementation ?
4.Can I see the SAML Token in my client ?
If possible Please send me the step-by-step custom Credential Mapping implementation.

I would like magic of course. However, in this case I want something special: my authentication provider uses special means and contents of headers, cookies and service from external identity management systems to determine the user's identity.
I do not want the application to present the login dialog! I want to derive the identity and the fact that the user is logged in from whatever the authentication provider returns in terms of Subject.
Ideally, the flow is something like:
- user accesses an unprotected resource - resource is shown, no interaction with authentication provider
- user presses a link or button that takes him/her to a protected resource
- the authentication provider is contacted to work with the identity asserter to establish the identity of the current user and create a subject object for this user
- the application can access the subject and principals
- ADF Security recognizes the identity and the roles (based on the principals) and coordinates access based on this.
the authentication method is client certificate. presumably this prompts WebLogic/OPS to use an identity asserter to work with custom headers and cookies ("... when you configure a web application to use CLIENT-CERT authentication. In this case, WebLogic can perform identity assertion based on values from request headers and cookies. If the header name or cookie name matches the active token type for the provider, the value is passed to the provider."). No login form should be presented to the user, as all information required to perform the authentication is already available.
I am trying to understand what I must do to have the ADF application adopt the subject set by the authentication provider - if anything?!
If you more ideas to share - I would love to hear them.

Error while integrating OBIEE report with EBS using Rich Content Container

I am trying to integrate OBIEE report with EBS using Rich Content Container OAF functionality. I have followed the steps mentioned in oracle Note - Embedding Analytics in Oracle E-Business Suite [ID 974422.1]. When i run my page, the container region comes up with the error message - The requested URL /pls/ghrfpkd2/OracleSSWA.Execute was not found on this server. Can someone please help me with some documents on the steps to integrate OBIEE with EBS using Rich Content Container.

I'm getting the same error on WebSphere 6.1.5. Is there any solution for this?

E-Business Suite Application Dev using OAF and ADF (White Paper Feb. 2008)

In Oracle White Paper entitled "E-Business Suite Application Dev using OAF and ADF (Feb. 2008)" it was mentioned on page 7 :
+"When ADF 11g becomes production, we will publish a revised paper that compares OAF with ADF 11g, and discuss development against E-Business Suite."+
I've had no luck finding a new comparison table for OAF R12 with ADF 11g :(
can anyone help me on this?

Security issue of using oaf

Dear,
We have used oaf to build the online payslip and we believe that oaf inherits all security applying to oracle ebs.
We are concerned about issues related to sniffing, phishing etc… may happen
can some one share any document/note or any material that clearly explains that the security for the custom oaf deployed pages is same as the ebs seeded page.

As per "Oracle Application Framework Developer's Guide Release 12.1.3" [Note 1107973.1]
+"It is the responsibility of the application framework to ensure that HTML transactions are authorized, private, and free from tampering. OA Framework provides built in protection against known HTML hacking strategies, leaving the application developer free to concentrate on application functionality."+
Therefore, generically all OAF pages are the same regards security... i.e. all OAF pages run in the context of the OA Framework security.
Having said that, if you are doing anything yourself within code, for example redirecting URL, then this would be outside the OAF security model and may need special attention by your own security team.

Release12 and custom.pll to OAf..urgent!!!!

dear All,
We have upgraded from 11.5.10 to EBS 12i.Certain features which were earlier done by customising the forms through custom.pll,now needs to be redone for the self-service screens using OAf.
My Question is :Is oracle providing any hooks or wrappers for the modules which have been implemented through self-service(which were earlier forms) whereby we can reuse the custom.pll to suite the self-service customisation,
or
do we have to go for extensions in self -service to achieve the same functionality,which was earlier done thro custom.pll.
Any pointers wud be great as lot of extensions have to be done to replace the custom.pll if there is no other way of achieving it.we have cheked that certain requirements are not possible thro personalization also.

I don't think that any such wrapper exists.
You will have to make use of OAF personalization and extension based on the requirements. If you can provide the customization details, we can suggest the approach to take.

Issue with creation of custom layouts using SAP Help Documentation

Hi Experts,
My requirement is to create a home custom page layout (using web dynpro) in Composite Environment. The default options available in CE are not useful for me. I have followed the instructions and followed all the steps, yet I fail to see the application in CE. The custom page layout is not displayed neither in options and is not available any where.

Is it possible to launch a form from an OAF page using OAF Personalization

In R11, the Customer Standard form ARXCUDCI was customized to call a custom block from the Address screen. In R12 the customer standard form has become an OAF page. We have decided to create a custom form for the custom block using Oracle Developer. However we need a mechanism to call this custom form from the Customer Standard OAF page.
My query is if it is possible to call a custom form from an OAF page using OAF personalization only (i.e. without directly customizing the code of the OAF page)

I have made some progress.
I have open the Customers OAF Page, queried a customer, selected a site and opened it.
Then chose Personalize "Account Site Address"
There I added a Button on the Header Address level
ID=XXTVL_LASSY_BUTTON
Populated the Additional Text and Prompt properties.
Also set Destination URI=form:SYSADMIN:SYSTEM_ADMINISTRATOR:STANDARD:FND_FNDMNMNU.
The button is now showing in the address page, and when I click on it it opens the seeded Menu form.
I now have to create the custom form and set Destination URI to the Custom Form.
I am also aware how to add parameters to Destination URI.
But could you let me know how to read the value from a OAF page form field and reference it in Destination URI.
I need the value of PARTY_SITE_ID of the Address OAF page.
Alternatively, the Site Number is displayed on the OAF page. If I can read it that will also do. I can use the Site Number in the custom form rather than PARTY_SITE_ID

Custom report using KM API Error

Hi All,
I have to create a report using KM API. i got the custom report using KM API from sdn and I imported into my NWDS. While i compile it, it is giving me this error.
"The project cannot be build because the classpath for com.sap.netweaver.bc.rf.common.exception.ResourceException is not found."
I have imported all the required jar files.
How can i rectify this error? Could anyone help me out in this issue?

First, I don't know what you mean with "imported" - in any case, you should not put the JARs into your project but just reference these.
Also, obviously you have not referenced all the required jar files; ResourceException is part of bc.rf.common_api.jar, which is part of portal application com.sap.netweaver.bc.rf, at least for NW2004s.
Please use the ClassLocator tool (search the WebLogs for this term to get some initial instruction) to avoid such questions in the future. It will make your life much easier.

My table(OLF_TEST_TBL) Columns:
EmpID (Number), Ename(VARCHAR2 100), Sal Number, and who columns.
1. created Application Module (AM).

I ran the page, page was opened successfully. Once i enter data and click submit button, it's giving the following error.

If the browser's navigation buttons were not used, this error could have been caused by coding mistakes in application code. Please check Supporting the Browser Back Button developer guide - View Object Primary Key Comparison section to review the primary causes of this error and correct the coding mistakes.
Cause:
The view object oaf_test_tbl_am.oaf_test_tbl_vo1700_oaf_test_tbl_vo1_practice_test_prc1_oracle_apps_mfg_simplepg_server_oaf_test_tbl_am.oaf_test_tbl_vo1 contained no record. The displayed records may have been deleted, or the current record for the view object may not have been properly initialized.
To proceed, please select the Home link at the top of the application page to return to the main menu. Then, access this page again using the application's navigation controls (menu, links, and so on) instead of using the browser's navigation controls like Back and Forward.

What are the steps for extending a OAF page (11iApplication Salary screen)

I couldn't proceed further beyond step 3 after following the instruction in OAF Developer's Guide, Chapter 9, Common BC4J Extension, page 890.
In Step 3, it says...
Create a new view object that extends the parent VO (you create the extended VO just as you would any other view object with the following difference: specify the name of the parent VO in the Extends View Object field in the first page of the wizard). Be sure to follow the naming standard described above.
Note that the parent VO package must be included in your project before you can extend the parent VO.
The issue I have now is, during the creation of a new VO, I need to extend the parent VO. However, I do not see any parentVO in the Parent window for me to select.
I want to know what are the initial steps or normal steps you usually do when extending a OAF page, so I know where I missed.
