Relevance of material info record & linkage to mm pricing

Dear SAP users,
Can any one tell me about relevance of material info record & its link to Material  master pricing filed in costing/accounting view.
At the time of creating material ID, do we have to update the  cost. If the item is manufactured in-house how do we know the cost inadvance to update.
Pl. suggest some best practice.
Regards
T.S.Shankar

Dear Shanker,
PIR (purchase inf record) is used when we ave dfferent procurement type.--subcontracting, standard, pipeline etc.
For example, if you subcontract the assembly of a component, the subcontractor info record would include the vendor's (subcontractor’s) price for assembling the component.
The info records can be created for materials and services with and without master records.
The PIR contains:
Data such as prices and conditions that you can store for the relevant purchasing organization or plant
Tolerance limits for overdeliveries and underdeliveries
The planned delivery time (lead time required by the vendor to deliver the material)
An indicator showing whether the vendor counts as the regular vendor for the material,,etc..

  • Material Description in SO from Customer-Material Info Record

    Hi,
Currently whenever user is entering the customer material number in SO item, system is bringing the SAP internal material corresponding to that.  But the material description is coming from the material master only.
I want the material description in the SO item to be populated from Customer-Material Info Record whenever user entered the Customer material number.
Any possibilities for the same by standard configuration without going for any enhancements.
    Thanks in advance,
    Mallik

    Hello
Go to T code VD52 choose that customer and material combination and click on to its details blue lens on application tool bar
In the screen which is coming ,enter your description in the CUSTOMER DESCRIPTION tab the second one and save
Now create a sales order and see
    Your requirement will be fulfilled
If  a material is pen description is ball pen in material master and for customer A you have defined it as Pen 1 and description as Super ball pen in VD51
Now in sales order the description will appear as  Super ball pen
Hope you have checked the field info record in VOV8
I have tried this tested this and getting it

  • Outbound delivery without reference and customer-material info record

We use outbound deliveries without reference (L0). Several customers want their own material number printed on the delivery notes.
So we considered using customer material info records. Unfortunately, the customer material number is not copied from the customer material info record into the outbound delivery position.
Do any customizing settings exist that we might have overlooked? Or is this behavior a "feature"? Any hint would be highly appreciated.
    Best regards,
    Gerald

    Hi Gerald,
have you ever figured a solution for this issue?
I'm now facing the same issue and could need some support. I found some documentation for the USEREXIT_CUST_MATERIAL_READ, but I don't know whether that could be used as a solution.
Please let me know or if anybody else knows something, please feel free to chip in your knowledge!
    Thx & regards,

  • Material Info Record Screen Layout Help

    Dear colleagues,
The question is regarding with material info record. Is it possible to differentiate screen layout of material info record per info category? For example, if I create standard info record u201Csales personu201D field should be required entry whereas other must remain optional.
    Best regards.
    Metin

    Dear Andra,
If I apply what you suggest here is what happens. Suppose Iu2019m creating a material info record with standard info category and I marked u201CReference, salespersonu201D field as mandatory in customizing. Then for all other info categoriesu2019, such as subcontracting, pipeline, etc, this field also become as mandatory entry. What I have been asking is that only this field must be a mandatory entry if an info record with standard info category is created. For any other info category, field restrictions should stay same.

  • Non stock material info record

    Hi SAPERS,
Please let me know the difference between the stock material and non stock material info records, Is there any difference in creation of both records.
    Thanks in Advance,
    D Prasad

    Hi,
When the IDoc for purchasing info records of a stock material is posted, if the purchasing info record for the material and the appropriate supplier does not already exist in the receiver system, the number of the purchasing info record is copied from the central system. Otherwise, the existing purchasing info record is updated.
    ·        For purchasing info records for non-stock materials, the purchasing info record number is always copied from the central system. If a purchasing info record with the same number already exists, the system checks whether it has the same supplier and material group as the info record from the central system.

  • Costing run with values for material from info record.

    Hi All
there is requirement with my client, that when i run my costing run the values of the components in BOM should be from the latest purchase order.
For this i am maintined valuation criteria as price from info record and sub strategy as gross price from PO.
When i am create a PO the info record is created automatically in background. So when i run costing run the value is picked correctly.
Now when i create a PO with same material from diff vendor the info record is generated, but on costing run it picks the value from the info record of earlier vendor. For this i go and check the conditions tab in info record, ensure its balnk and save it. Again generate new PO and then run a costing run. This time the system reads the latest info record.
My problem is that i want to ensure that during the costing run, system should read the latest info record w/o manual intervention. System behaviour is not consistent when there is multiple vendor and same material info records. Sometimes it pick up the value and sometimes it refers the old info record.
Can any one help me out in resolving this issue. Its critical.
    Regards
    Rakesh

    Hi!
Generally first info records will be created with vendor, then PO will be created, based on info records price, price will be updated in PO.
If you have more than one vendor for same material, you have to create info records for each vendor. then you need to maintain source list, where you can fix the vendor. If there is no fix vendor, then you can do schedule agreement with vendors, where you have to give proportionate percentages again each vendor.
    Now for costing run :
    1. if you have only one info record, the price will take from that info record.
    2. if you have more than one info record, you need to mantain source list, where you can tick the fixed vendor, then system will take price from that vendor info record.
    3. if there is no fixed vendor and you have maintained scehduel agreement with weightage to vendor, then higher percentage vendor info record price will be picked up.
    4. if you have more info reocrds, not maintianed source list or schedule agreement, price will be picked up from first info record ( based on info record creation date).
    5. if you have a schedule agreement, but you have given equal weightage for example 50% and 50%, then also system will pick up from first info record.
i think it is clear now.

  • Item text in Purchase Order getting updated with info. record Purchase Order Text

    Hello All,
I am working in a roll out project and facing issue in text repeating twice for the line item in the Purchase Order for the new company code for which rollout is happening
    Issue:
Item text in Purchase Order getting updated with info. record Purchase Order Text
    01) PO Text is maintained in the material master under "Purchase Order Text" tab
    02) The PO text that is maintained in material master is getting updated in the Purchase Info. Record
    03) When Purchase Order is created, the "Item Text" gets updated in the Purchase Order automatically only for the new company code for which rollout is happening. when printed, this results in the text getting duplicated twice
03.1) this behavior is not observed in the Plants/ Company code that is already Live
    Configurations in the system:
The copying rules for the "Texts for Purchase Orders" is
Source Object = "Info Record", Source Text="Purchase Order Text", Fix="*"
We have modified the Purchase Order form to print one of  the condition types maintained for calculating the tax. Other than this there is no change to the plants that are already live.
I could not locate any "Purchase Organization" / "Company Code" / "Plant specific configuration.
Am I missing any configuration or where can I look in what is causing this error.
Request help from the experts in the forum.
    with Regards,
    Dhandapani R

There is no company/purchasing/plant specific customizing for purchase order text.
The customizing copying rules for the "Texts for Purchase Orders" affects all equally .
If the text in the purchase order in ME23N is already filled different to other plants, then you either have a modification in place, or the texts are differently maintained in the referenced data (vendor, material, info record, contract)

  • Error occured while creating purchase info record in mm

    sir,
while creating purchase info record  an error occured while inserting net price. it said
NOT POSSIBLE TO DETERMINE A CONDITION TYPE FOR A PRICE
when it attempted to generate the time dependent condition for the price you entered the systeem was unable to determine a condition type, price determination is therefore not possible.
please inform me how to solve this problem.
    thankyou

I think you are not using the stdard pricing becuse of that it is thrwing error
Ok First check your pricing procedure which your using for PO
than in that pricing procedure if you are using PB00 fro Gross price than you will have antoher pricing procedure attached to this condition.
check in M/06 for your gross price conditon
now did you assign the pricing procedure to vendor?
bottom line is somthing missing in your config.
Check all the config as below
    Pricing Procedure:
In MM module, pricing procedure is used during RFQ and PO creation. Total value of material based on all addition and subtraction like discount, surcharge, tax, freight, etc. In this we are defining pricing procedure and linking to vendor and purchase department through the virtual schemas.
Following steps for pricing procedure as,
    1. Define conditions.
    2. Define pricing procedure.
    3. Define virtual purchase organization and vendor.
    4. Info Record.
    Customization for Pricing Procedure :
    1. Definition of Conditions :
/NMEK0-condition typeu2026condition types- definition (define for basic price, net price, discount, surcharge, tax etc.)
    2. Defining pricing procedure :
/NMEK0- calculation schema-calculation schemasu2014New entries (Define procedure and put the conditions like formula so that final price will be net price / total value as per company requirement)
    3. Linking pricing procedure to independent condition types.
/NMEK0-condition typeu2026condition types- definition for position for defined conditions (Enter the defined pricing procedure in the each independent conditions u201CPricing Procedureu201D box)
    4. Defining Schema group for Vendor :
    /NMEK0- calculation schema-schema groupsu2014vendoru2014New Entries.
    5. Defining Schema group for Purchase Organization--- New entries.
/NMEK0- calculation schema- schema groups---- purchasing organization--- new entries.
    6. Linking Virtual Purchase Organization to actual Purchase Organization.
/NMEK0- calculation schema- schema groups----- Assign P.Org. (in actual P.Org, enter virtual P.Org)
    7. Linking Pricing procedure to virtual P.Org and virtual vendor :
/NMEK0- calculation schema- Determine Schema--- -Standard --- New entries (Enter virtual schema and P.Org. along with pricing procedure)
    8. Linking virtual vendor to actual vendor-- /NXK02 then enter schema group vendor in Purchasing Data )
    9. Info Records (/NME11)---- click on u201CPurch. Org. data1u201D and enter condition types and pricing procedure
What are the steps in pricing determination in MM? Condition, Access sequence and schema.
In the SAP MM Pricing is more important. Just yesterday I have completed the Pricing as I am doing the SAPMM now. I can give some light on this Topic, not 100%. After 2 days definitely some more I can share.
The Basic thing is Condition Technique. In which there are
    1. Access Sequence 2. Condition Record 3. Condition Type 4. Condition Table.
A Access Sequence access a Condition Record of a Condition Type in a Condition Table is a Condition Technique. This is a simple logic
Here the Condition Type is very important like PB00, PBXX,RA01 etc.
In the background every Condition Type has its own defition means the purpose of the Condition Type like, is it for Pricing or Percentage, Quntity base, Accrual Feilds etc is to be defined to work this functions.
Normally we use the existing ones without any risk. But some cases, we have to Create a New Condition Types as per the organisation requirement.
The Pricing Schema is useful to minimise condition types while mention prices for Vendor on the basis of Pricing Schema which we defined according to organisation requirement.
The Pricing Schema means the calculations procedure of Condition Type.
Ex. RA01 - Discoount % is caclulated on PB00 - Gross Price means
RA01 is based on PB00 like that we have to define in the Pricing Schema
which makes easy to use in realtime.
Here PB00 has the Access Sequence - 0002.
But RA01 does not have the Access Sequence. Why because it is a dependent on PB00. But both are Condition Types.
In the system, by default some standard Scheme will be there at Vendor Schema Group in the Vendor Master Screen means the standard one is assigned which is very lengthy which may fullfil our requirement. But some cases which may not fullfil our requirement, in such we have to define.
For the configuration, I may not able to explain properly through here but will give some Idea.
Configuration: SPRO-IMG-Material Management- Purchasing- Conditions-Define Price Deternmination Process
    1. Define Access Sequence
    2. Define Condition Type
    3. Defince Calculation Schema:- Here you have to define the Schema
    Define Schema group
    1. Define Schema Group vendor
    2. Define Pricing Schema group
    3. Schema group for Purchase Organisation
    4. Assign Schema group to Purchase Organisation
    Define Schema determination
1.define calculation schema for Standard purchase organisation
After completion of the Schema Group, we have to assign it to Vendors.
Then whenever we use any transaction with this Vendor, the concerned Schema will work as configured by us.
I think this will help you. Actually the Pricing is a vast. Becuase each Condition have its own importance and each Access Sequence have its own importance. So you need not bother about this. First you learn how to define the Calculation Schema through the above.
Here we can create many Calculation Schemas which can assign one schema to Local vendors
another schema to out side vendor one more schema to foreign vendors like that we can classify.

  • FM for creating / maintaining condition types of  PIR ( info record)

    Hi Exparts,
I required mass creation / updation of condition types of PIR or info records ( in ME11/ ME12 transaction). I tried BDC but it is getting very complex. Is there any FM / BAPI that could be used for this purpose.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,

Purchase Info records data are updated in EINA & EINE Tables and even it updates in A017 (Plant Specific) or A018 (Without Plant Specific) which is called as Material Info record.
To identify the Condition Types in info records, below are the steps.
Step 1: Record all the u201Cconditions Records Nou201D from A017 (Plant Specific) or A018 (Without Plant Specific) for the given Info Records.
Step 2: Based on this u201CStep 1 - condition record nou201D, Search the required u201CCondition Typeu201D in KONP Table by inserting the Cond. Record No and Cond. Type.
If it is helpful, reward points.
