Input-Query New Rows

Hi,
I have created an input query, when I use this query  in the WAD, I'm able to modify key figures but I'm not able to add new rows I have a message. "No New rows or column added because not all characteristic have a key cell.
Thanks to give me some idea.
Eric

Hello,
That was a one valuable suggestion.
I have created a Text characteristic to add a description. In my scenario I am adding in my input ready query a field to add free text for assets bought.  This works fine in BEx, but when I try to add it in WAD it is checking against master data which obviously doesn't exist, as the whole idea is to add a free text.  As you explained in your response you need to display characteristic in the rows as key and optional text (I don't see optional text for selection).  I am not sure what am I missing.
You know how to overcome this issue?
Regards,
Sachin
I am on SPS 10 BI 7.0.

  • Restrict values of characteristic in input-ready new rows query

    Hello all
We are creating an input-ready new rows query. So we added characteristic as row.
We need the values in F4 (while choosing value in this row) are to be restricted by hierarchy (or just restricted by some algorithm - list of values). But if we choose "hierarchy" for that characteristic, it will also appear in rows, so not one posted value will appear, but full hierarchy for this value. How to make F4 for choosing restricted values of any characteristic.
Reason: we have different account plans for different years and don't want users to choose "old" positions.
    Cheers, Yuri

    Hello, Yuri!!!
    Try to use next variants:
    1) Authorization
    restrict you characteristic in RSECADMIN
    2) COMPAUND
You can add compaund characteristic to you main characteristic, and if you restrict this compaund  characteristic in filter, then in query you'll see only appropriate values
    3) FILTER
You can restrict not only fixed values, but you can use prequery for you characteristic. For example make DSO in which will be calmonth and account in key. And make query to take accounts for calmonth. After that in you main query restrict you account through variables with replace path type (set query for accunts for month).
    4) Relation in RSPLAN
Create DSO(as in case 3) and try to use relation for you realtime cube in RSPLAN.

  • Add new rows when query not input-ready

In the Web Application Designer, is it possible to detect whether a query is in display or change mode, and depending on the outcome to set an Analysis Item parameter ?  This would provide a solution to the following:
Background: I have a Web template used for sales quantity planning which contains two Analysis Items, each with their own input-ready query: ANALYSIS_ITEM_EXISTING allows users to enter plan values based on existing characteristic combinations, ANALYSIS_ITEM_NEW_ROWS allows users to enter new characteristic combinations and their plan values (using the 'Number of New Lines' parameter). These two separate Analysis Items are needed so that I can restrict the characteristic values differently for each. ANALYSIS_ITEM_NEW_ROWS shows only new rows, since I have set both parameters 'Number of New Lines' and 'Data Row to' to 5.
Problem: If the query underlying ANALYSIS_ITEM_NEW_ROWS is not able to go into change mode (such as when there is an active data slice, or a locking conflict), then instead of seeing 5 empty rows the user sees existing data from the underlying query. This looks bad and is confusing for the user.
Can anyone think of a solution?

    Hi Jacky,
The Bex analyzer works in the same way as in the web. You've restrict all charateristics which are not in your rows or columns to a single value. Then you can see that in excel the last blank row has a  black border. If this is the case you can add a new row.
By pressing F4 in an empty cell you can select values or if you've know the key you can type it directly. Also you can add multiple rows at once. IP collects all rows below the query.
If this not works, just put all chars from your aggr. level in the rows and check if this works. And then for each change to the restriction/layout run the query and look if you can still add new rows.
    Hope it helps.

    J.

  • Adding new rows in the input-ready query

    Hello everybody!
Could you please advise what setting should be done in the ready for input query to make it possible to add rows in it.
I succeeded in creating input ready queries where it is possible to modify key figure value for the existing records, but I haven't succeeded yet in creating query with input-ready rows.
    Thank you in advance,
    Kind regrds,
    Maria Kazakova

    Hi Gregor!
    Thank you.
Of course before posting a question, I've read this help topic attentively.
I created Aggregation level ZPPLAN with characteristics:
    •     Version
    •     Cal. Year/Quarter
    •     Currency
    Key figure:
    •     ZSUM_BDG
Query ZPRQUERY3 is based on aggregation level ZPPLAN
    Query settings:
    Rows:
    •     Version
    •     Cal. Year/Quarter
    •     Currency
    Key figure:
    •     ZSUM_BDG
in the key figure properties, tab Planning option "Data can be changed using user entries or planning functions" is selected.
Execution of the query returns the table with input-ready cell and <u><b>empty new rows doesn't present</b></u>.
so could you please advise what else settings should be done for query, to make input ready rows available in the query? so as to make it possible to enter new records in the input ready query?
Following settings are done for the Analysis Grid properties:
    tab "General":
    - Display sort icons
    - Apply formatting
    - Allow navigation
    - autofit
    - Display hierarchi icons
    Tab "Clipping":
Full size for horisontal and vertical.
    Sorry for so long quetion,
I would be grateful for an answer,
    Kind regrds,
    Maria Kazakova

  • Insert new rows in a input ready query

    Hello,
I have to build an input ready query in which the users should insert new records.
In the "old" transaction BPS0 there was an option to do this but now I'm using RSPLAN for planning...
What is the best way (or maybe a good way) to build this input ready query?
    Thanks a lot

    Hi,
If these characteristics have no char relationship you can add new rows as follow:
All the characteristics you have in your aggregation level must have single values in your input ready query. So restrict by variables or put them in the layout (not as a free-characteristic). In the front-end tools you have a select option to "Insert new lines". If you have added this you can add new records to your query. If you hover over a input cell and press F4 the user will get an input help.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Juriaan

  • Warning: No new rows or columns because the axis is not input-ready

    Hello all,
I have a planning application that plan against multiple years. This is done using a query that uses an analysis web item with its properties set to enable multiple new rows e.g. 2 new rows. Right now I have an issue whereby those 2 new rows will only appear if I restrict the report to a single year and if I were to select 2 or more years I get this warning message u201CNo new rows or columns because the axis is not input-readyu201D and those 2 rows will disappear.
Anybody have any idea whatu2019s going on? Thanks.

  • No new rows or columns because the axis is not input-ready

    Hi Gurus,
I have a problem when I am modelling the Order and Revenue Planning.
In my model I have Base Unit and Currency as Unit characterstics.
When I take Currency as INR and Base Unit Multiple Values then I can create a new row in my planning layout.
If I take currecy also multiple values, system is throwing following message "No new rows or columns because the axis is not input-ready" and not allowing me to create new rows(rather it is not displaying the new rows). But Query is Input Ready.
Could any one suggest solution for this.....
    Waiting for your reply......
    Thanks and Regards,
    Arun.

    Hi Arun,
I know exactly what you are trying to do.  Don' t waste your time any further on it.   The story would have been different if the entire layout was on a single currency(header or filtered).
    For your problem....
First of all you cannot use 0AMOUNT.  As it will not allow you to seperate 0Currency from 0Amount as it is already defined in the 0Amount Infoobject. Even if you try to add 0Currency AGAIN as a "separate" characteristic in the row of Query.  So you will have to now provide 2 currency values to 0Currency(in the row) as well as 0Currency in the 0Amount (which you cannot select in Query Designer).  Because the system will still be looking for 0Currency value embedded to 0Amount.  The only way you can do is by using a Custom Key Figure with No Dim.  I mean, ZAmount with no Unit/Currency in the infoobject definition.
Let Currency be an attribute of Order.  Display this currency attribute in the row of the layout, just so the users know which currency they are going to enter values on.  It(currency) is only for informational purpose and not to think that the values entered initially by the users are stored along with the same currency.  And then after the user enters values on this ZAMOUNT, upon save use Fox behind the scene to copy this over to real "0Amount".  Fox should read the Order currency(attribute) and store the currency into along with the 0Amount(and 0currency).  All other Char stored by user should be copied as is in the Fox.
The same logic applies to 0Quantity(with unit).
Hope this solution works for you.  Let us know if this is possible.
    Rocky

  • Extra row in Ready input query.

    Hi gurus,
I have developed a  Ready input query and its working fine but in the report i mean after the over all Result row at the end there should be extra row get added by default for entering the data iam not getting the extra row for entering the Data. How to bring that extra row please suggest accordingly

In analyzer, check that Analysis Grid property 'Suppress New Lines' is unchecked.
    Also, check this link http://help.sap.com/SAPHELP_NW70/helpdata/EN/43/f234619e3c4c5de10000000a155369/frameset.htm

  • No new rows or columns because the axis is not input-ready - error

    hi,
can any one tell me how to solve this.
i am able to change the data but not able to add new rows or columns to the analysis item.
    i am getting following error
No new rows or columns because the axis is not input-ready
    how to solve this.
    please suggest me.
    i will assign points.

    Hello venkat,
robably the definition of rows and columns is to complicated for the system to read.
Do you want to add a new row or a new column?
how are the existing rows or columns defined?
It does work, if you have included only characteristics into row / column and you are using key or key+text to be shown in your query.
    regards

04/01/2007     ABC VACCUM CLEANER NULL 45423434.00
    Hi guys,
It is a situation where i have to produce some new rows with projected RETAIL_SALES_AMT based on the last quarter's
RETAIL_SALES_AMOUNT and next quarte'rs WHOLESALE_AMT. As you can see from the sample data for a specific customer,
product i have retail_sales_amt populated only upto 04/01/2006 but WHOLE_SALE amt for the same product and customer
    are there upto 04/01/2007.
I have to produce a PROJECTED RETAIL_SALES_AMT and it should be inserted as a new row with a flag to identify
a projected row. Here in this case i have to produce a new row for 07/01/2006,10/01/2006 & 01/01/2007 projecting
the RETAIL_SALES_AMT. The formulae for calculation is as under:
    projected retail_sales_amt for 07/01/2006=.345+( (07/01/2006 whole_sales - 04/01/2006 whole_sales)/(04/01/2006 whole_sale)))
*04/01/2006 RETAIL_SALES_AMT and going forward for subsequent quarters.
Is there any way i can use a query to produce these new rows by calculating the RETAIL_SALES_AMT on the fly or any
    procedural way to do it.
Please help as it looks a bit complicated logic.

  • Query regarding inserting a new row at first row data table

    hi all,
I have a doubt regarding the insertion of new row in data table.I am now using the following code
    if (skillDataProvider.canAppendRow()){
    RowKey rowkey = skillDataProvider.appendRow();
    skillDataProvider.setCursorRow(rowkey);
    String skillID=getSkilID();
    skillDataProvider.setValue("Skill.SkillID", rowkey, skillID);
    int rowID=Integer.parseInt(rowkey.getRowId());
    tableRowGroup1.setFirst(rowID);
Its working fine. But this code gives me provision to add the data at the last of the table.I need it to be at the first row.I tried
    RowKey rowkey=skillDataProvider.insertRow(skillDataProvider.getRowKey(String.valueOf(0)));
but it shows some null pointer exception. Can anyone help me?
    Thanks in advance
    Sree

I think AChervov has the right idea here.
CachedRowSetDataProvider.canInsertRow(beforeRow) returns false, so you cannot insertRow().
Therefore, you'll need to control the sort order yourself. I'd add a sort field to the database. Then use TableRowGroup.setSortCrtieria() to control the table display order. Or commit the append to the database immediately and reselect (refresh) the provider (assuming the provider has the desired "order by").

  • How to create a new row for a VO based on values from another VO?

    Hi, experts.
    in jdev 11.1.2.3,
How to create a new row for VO1 based on values from another VO2 in the same page?
and in my use case it's preferable to do this from the UI rather than from business logic layer(EO).
Also I have read Frank Nimphius' following blog, but in his example the source VO and the destination VO are the same.
How-to declaratively create new table rows based on existing row content (20-NOV-2008)
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/13-create-with-params-169140.pdf
    I have tried:

2.Drag and drop a Createwithparams button for VO1(id,amount,remark),
    3.add: Create insertinside Createwithparams->Nameddata(amount),
    4.set NDName:amount, NDValue:#{bindings.VO2.children.Amount}, NDtype:oracle.jbo.domain.Number.
On running, when press button Createwithparams, cannot create a new row for VO1, and get error msg:

    Hi,CM,
I'm really very appreciated for your quick reply! You know, today is Saturday, it's not a day for everyone at work.
My principal requirement is as follows:
1.select/check some rows from VO2, and for each selection create a new row with some attributes from VO2 as default values for VO1's corresponding attributes, and during this process the user may be cancel/uncheck or redo some of the selections.
--so it's better to implement it in UI rather than in EO.
2.it's better to implement this function with declarative way as in Frank Nimphius' blog.
--little Jave/JS coding, the better. I only have experience in ORACLE FORMS, little experience in JAVA/JS.
In order to get full information for the requirements of my use case, can take a check at:
How to set default value for a VO query bind variable in a jspx page?
(the end half of the thread: I have a more realworld requirement similar to the above requirement is:
Manage bank transactions for clients. and give invoices to clients according to their transaction records. One invoice can contain one or many transactions records. and one transaction records can be split into many invoices.

  • Input query with dynamic actual & forecast values by month per year

    Hello,
I am working on a Input ready query for a forecasting application which shows both actuals and forecast numbers and the user will revise the forecast numbers by month
Requirement: I want to build a Input query for monthly forecasting for the current year. It will be dynamic rolling of months with actuals & forecast data.
E.g. My report has 12 months for the current year
and if run the report in May, the months before May has to show the actuals and the months after May has to show the old forecast data so that the user will revise the numbers again in each month and save the data to the real time cube.
    Jan.Feb.Mar.Apr.May.Jun.Jul.Aug.Sept.Nov.Dec
Act Act  Act Act Act  Old frcst for the remaining months
user will revise forecast for these months
So, i am able to create Input query with all restricted key figures( plan kf has change mode set to change, actual kf are not set change) and calculate key figures and all the logic is done on dynamically moving/rolling the data based on the input month of the year.
But the problem is that i am using cal kf to dynamically roll months, i was not able to set the change option for the cal kf.
So, how can i make sure that the dynamically changed plan months will open for entering forecast and the actuals months not to change?
Do you guys have any better solutions in implementing it?
I really appreciate it your input....:)
    Thanks,
    Srini

    Hi,
Please look at the following DOC which may be useful to you and if so please grant me point.
    Regards,
    SUbha'
    Input-Ready Query
    Use
You use input-ready queries to create applications for manual planning. These can range from simple data entry scenarios to complex planning applications.
    Integration
You define a query that you want to use for manual planning in the BEx Query Designer (see Defining New Queries).
In the Web Application Designer or the BEx Analyzer, you can combine the input-ready queries with other queries and planning functions to create complex planning applications.
    Prerequisites
You can define an input-ready query on any of the following InfoProviders:
&#9679;     Aggregation levels (see Aggregation Levels)
&#9679;     MultiProviders that include at least one simple aggregation level
The aggregation levels are created in the planning modeler; MultiProviders are defined in the modeling functional area of the Data Warehousing Workbench.
    Features
    Definition of an Input-Ready Query
Once you have defined a query on an InfoProvider, you see the Planning tab page under the Properties of structural components (for example, in key figures or restricted key figures). The options provided there allow you to determine which structural components of an input-ready query are to be input ready at runtime and which are not. With structural components that are not input ready, you can also determine whether these components are viewed as reference data or are just protected against manual entry.
For the structural components, you also have the following options:
Input readiness of structural components of a query
    Option
    Description
    Not input ready (reference data)
If they are being used as reference data, the structural components are not protected by data locks to ensure exclusive access for one user because this data serves as a reference for many users.
    This is the default setting.
Not input ready (no reference data)
If you want to protect structural components against manual entries but allow changes by planning functions, you can use locks to protect this data for one particular user. In this way you can ensure that the planning function works with the displayed data only and not with data that has been changed by other users.
    Input ready
You can also determine whether an input ready query is to be started in change mode or in display mode. You find this property in the Query Properties on the Planning tab page. If there is at least one input-ready query component, the query (as long as it has not been determined otherwise) is started in display mode.
In BI applications that use input ready queries as data providers, you can enter data manually at runtime. For more information, see Performing Manual Planning and Creation of Planning Applications.
    Example
You want to create an input-ready query for manual planning for a plan-actual comparison of revenues for a set of products. You want the plan data in a real-time-enabled InfoCube and the actual data in a standard InfoCube.
           1.      Create a MultiProvider that includes the InfoCubes for the plan and actual data.
           2.      Define an aggregation level on the MultiProvider which contains the characteristic Product and the key figure Revenue.
           3.      On the aggregation level, create two restricted key figures Plan Revenue and Actual Revenue. For restriction, choose the characteristic 0INFOPROV and restrict it to the plan or actual InfoCube.
           4.      Add the restricted key figures to the key figure structure. Insert Product into the rows. For Plan Revenue, choose Input Ready for the input-readiness option. For Actual Revenue, choose the option Not Input Ready (Reference Data).
           5.      In the query properties, set the indicator that determines whether the queries are started in display or change mode as required.
    Example of an input-ready query
    Product
    Plan Revenue
    Actual Revenue
    P01
    20
    P02
    30
If you want to keep actual and plan data in a real-time enabled InfoCube, you do not require a MultiProvider for the task described above. Create an aggregation level on the InfoCube and define the input-ready query for the aggregation level. In the example above, a version characteristic acts as the InfoProvider. Create restricted key figures with the plan or actual version and proceed as in the previous example.

  • Invalid characteristic combniation in WAD new row not re-read

We have a really annoying problem entering new rows in an IP WAD.
If an incorrect Characteristic Value (Gl account for example) is entered in a new row, then the system provides a nice message, and the cell with the characteristic is highlighted - perfect.  The user can change the value and then check again.
However if the user types in a Characteristic Value which exists, but is not in the filter for the query, then the system again provides an error message, but instead of highlighting the Characteristic Value the system highlights the Key Figure cell.
If the user changes the Characteristic Value to a valid value and checks the data again, the new valueis not checked.  The user has to change the key figure amount to trigger the system to check the updated Characteristic Value.
This behaviour is the same for checking characteristic combinations.
Executing the same query in a BEx Analyser workbook does not have this problem, but we prefer a web input.
Has anyone noticed this problem, and found a solution or workaround?
    Michael

    Hello Michael,
I agree with you. The check should highlight the incorrect cell, not the key figure. Please open a customer message with a reproducible example so SAP support can analyze the issue.

  • BI Integrated Planning: Not possible to enter „new rows“ in Webtemplate

    Hello Experts,
we are trying to use the BI integrated planning, in particular we want to use the manual planning functionality with „new rows“, that means we want to create new rows for combinations of characteristics for which no data has been entered / loaded yet.
To test this functionality, we´ve built a very simple example consting of
    -     a real time info cube with 4 characteristics, 1 key figure and one time characteristic
    -     an aggregation level which contains the 4+1 characteristics
    -     an input-ready query
    -     a web-template with an analysis grid, sth. to select the characteristics, eg. drop-down-boxes or a navigation pane and a button to save the entered data
But now it is not possible for us to create new rows to enter data. The error message that is displayed in the top of the screen reads „No new row / column inserted, since not all characteristics have a lead column“.
The strange (?) thing is, that if we use the navigation pane, it is possible to draw the time characteristic as the only element to the „rows“ – and then we can enter the time characteristic, but not the key figure !
We´ve succeeded in entering data for „new rows“ using BexAnalyzer, but we really need this functionality within a web template.
Btw, I think we´ve done the necessary adjustements for the web template (e.g. for the analysis grid „number of new rows“ and so on)
According to our SAP Basis Administration, the OSS-Note No 984601 has already been installed.
What do we have to do if we want to enter data in new rows ? We would already be happy with a simple example / how to to know what we have do to do to build a very simple web application !
Many thanks for any help !
    Frank

Okay, it has been solved (answered by SAP-Support) ! It´s so easy: the only thing you have to do is to display only keys, no text, in the query !
