Inspection Lot Selection

I have 2 inspection types in my inspection lot origin 00 i.e. First is A & second is B.
When i did MIGO for order created by Kanban; system created inspection lot type A
When i create purchase order manually; it creates inspection lot B. Why? Here also i was expecting lot type A viz first
On what basis there is difference in automatic and manual lot creation??? There is no preference given in material master also

Are you sure you have inspection lot origin 00?
What is the Preffered inspection type in Inspection setup.?
For kanban order type have you maintained inpection lot type
check following path
QCC3->Inspec lot creation->Maintain Parameters for Production Order Type>select kanban order>Under plaaning tab check last entry
check Inspection type>this can be a reason

    QA32 >> Inspection lot selection screen opens >> click on save button >> variant attribute screen will open >> for field name 'Lot created on ' (2nd row) assign 'D' in column 'selection variable' (10 th column) >> then go to last column 'name of variable' and press F4 >> select the option 'Current date - xxx,current date + yyy' and Put 30 days , last column should show 'Current date - 30 ,current date -  0' then save, then finally click 'My default' tab on main QA32 screen.
    After doing this when you  execute QA32, you will get selection date of  today and last 30 days.

  • Quality Inspection lots during returns

    Hi,
      We need to generate inspection lots when there is a inbound delivery done.The neccessary setting's has been done and insp lot is getting created.But when we do PGR within Inbound delivery we get a error as ''Status of inspection lot 600000000000 / partial lot 000000 does not allow good issue''.We need to do PGR and then process the lot.

    Please process the inspection lot and make Usage Decision, then you will be able to do PGR.

  • SAP QM - Inspection Lot Stock tab missing in QA11

    Hi,
    My scenario is raw material inspection and I executed the scenario as follows
    Step 1 : Assigned 01 inspect type to the material in QM view .
    Step 2 : Created three MIC's
    Step 3 : Created Sampling procedure
    Step 4 : Created inspection plan for material by assigning MIC's & Sampling procedure to operation.
    Step 5 : Goods receipt of 100 Qty for the material through purchase order.
    Step 6 : Created Inspection lot for material.
    Step 7 : Inspection lot selection for material and recorded the results.Then valuated the results and i reject 2 out of 3.
    Now I have to post the some qty to unrestricted use & some qty to vendor i.e return delivery. To do the same, inspection lot stock tab is missing in QA11.
    Pls suggest if I missed any thing in this process.

    I will clear the confusion.
    As I described the scenario in my first post, I have created inspection lot manually (QA01), then selected the same using QA32, here I had recorded the results & UD also. When I check in MMBE for unrestricted use stock, it is still showing under QI only. Then I  identified that Inspection lot stock was missing. So, I started posting in SCN (After searching).
    Mean while in the discussions I thought that, I completed RR & UD for the material. Now if any suggestions from expects won't applicable for my query. So, after Craig's recent discussion, for the same material once again I have done the GR through purchase order and created inspection lot manually.
    Now I found inspection lot (1st) through Material Document(i.e. MB51 as suggested by Mr.Craig)
    In QA32 (2nd) inspection lot, which is created manually.
    Now I have two inspection lots for the same material and I have not recorded the results nor UD for these lots. Just created and waiting for suggestions.
    And for 1st inspection lot , I tried to do results recording using QA11 also. But system through's error as shown in screenshot.
    I think I cleared the confusion.
    Pls correct me if I am wrong or missed anything.

    In transaction QA32(Inspection Lot Selection) for an Inspection Lot there is  a System Status (not Result Record Status) . What is the database Table-Field where this System Status is stored? OR
    How can I retreive that System Status in my ABAP program?

    take the STAT2 status field

    I need to know about collectived UD for 04 inspection lot origin. In QA16, I do not get any 04 lots. Do I have to go for QA41? Then what are the prerequisites and configurations?

    I tried this and made a variant in QA41 too. But some its not working. I searched in google and SDN and found all steps are followed, but its just not working.
    My settings are:
    1. Auto UD time taken as 12 hours in customizing
    2. Auto UD box ticked for material
    3. In QA41, created a variant (In full screen)
    4. Inspection lot selection taken as order confirmed
    5. UD codes, plant all set
    Now what i feel i am mistaking in scheduling the variant. Can anyone please let me know the steps to schedule it?
    My scenario is: for 04 type materials, I want to do a collective UD when lots are OK
    And Do I have to assign to any material?

  • Automatic Selection of  "User Status Profile" for Inspection lot

    Hi all,
    I have created "User Status Profile" for particular plant to block UD if Results are not recorded ; I want this 'User status profile' to be selected automatically in record usage decision screen - qa11 of inspection lot .Please let me know how to go about this?

    You can call the inspectiion whatever you want up to I think 6, (maybe 8) characters.
    You can use 04pppp where pppp = your plant ID.  So 041000, 042000, 042010, 043000, 043140, etc...
    In the insepction type setup in the material masters you can set the inpsection type you want to use in that plant as the "preferred" one by checking that box in the inspection setup in the material master.

  • Follow-up action : please help - Inspection Lot related

    Hi,
    I am having the following trouble:
    Through MB02, a printout is generated to the local printer (LOCL).
    However, through QA11, when we save, we have a custom follow-up action attached that pops-up a
    dialog screen.
    The follow up action is triggered when a usage decision is changed for the inspection lot.
    The follow-up action (configured in IMG) calls a Function Module and a screen, which in turn populates
    a value into a custom DB table (based on the buttons, on the screen, sending either to LOCL or to a
    zebra printer).
    Now, what has to happen is that after inserting the value into a custom table, it should also open a sapscript and output.
    The Sapscript and print program are there, with the print program being created 3-4 years ago by someone
    else. However, even though we have code in the print program to update nast, in turn creating a message
    for output (1st the custom DB table is checked to see if the values match, MATNRCHARG), It does not update
    NAST. When we go through MB02, it does, but this should happen automatically after selecting one of the radio
    buttons on the original pop-up & selecting print.
    Please help. I don't know what to do and can't enable a debugger from the pop-up and if going though QA11,
    I can't get it to stop inside the print program (only inside the custom FM).

  • Inspection lot creation

    Dear Experts,
    Reqiurement as follow :
    We have four plant like 1000,1001,1002,1003,1004
    System creates inspection lot when we do GRN against in stock transfer PO when STO from
    1000 to 1004, 1001 to 1004, 1002 to 1004, 1003 to 1004, as we have activated inspection type 08,01 in MMR.
    My requirement is system should not create inspection lot when STO from 1003 to 1004 only.
    We can not deactivate inspection type as we need inspection lot when STO from other plant.
    Please help in this scenario.

    In QM, we can deactivate the quality for certain movement type.That means though QM is active in material master, if we are using any movement type for which QM is not active, it will not generate the inspection lot. For STO from plant 1003 to 1004, use the movement other 101 i.e copy of 101.
    Copy 101 movement say as 901.Using following path deactivate QM for this new movement type 901.
    SPRO - QM - Q. Insp - Insp lot creation - Insp for goods movement - Deactivate insp for movement type. Select the indicator "QM not active".
    Now use movement type 901 for STO from plant 1003 to 1004.

    Follow the SPRO path for Auto UD---> Select your plant for AUTO UD settings -
    > then go to InspLot completion tab where you need to define following time fields under Automatic Usage Decision tab page :
    Delay time for skip lot (in Mins)
    Waiting time (hrs) & Waiting time (Mins).
    Waiting time is the time which must elapse after inspection lot creation after that only system will carry out automatic usage decision.
    Save above settings.
    Further as a master data part, you need to maintain tick in Automatic UD check box for the respective material for which you want activate automatic UD.
    Hope this clears your doubt.

  • Customer number not in the inspection lot for a make to order scenario

    Hi All,
    I know that standard SAP will get the Customer number into Insp. lot only for insp. types 10/11/12.  I am wondering if someone know a way to get the customer no. into insp. lot for insp. type 04 where the material is make-to-order scenario and the Production/Process order has the Sales order and customer no. without activating User-exit.  The quality users want to be able to see the customer no. in insp. lot without having them to go to process order. 
    It makes no sense to me why the customer no. is not brought into insp. lot when that is available in the Prod/process order, which can further be used to select the customer specific insp. plans for 04 insp. type Insp. lot without using Variant configuration.
    Any light on this topic is appreciated.

    I guess.........
    Normally the inspection lot refers the triggering document that are the trigger cause for them.
    - Inspection type 01: - Purchase Order and GR material document.
    - Inspection type 03: - Pro. Order Number
    The same way...
    The inspection type 10\11\12 are purely related to the SD, and directly integrates QM and SD. Hence in the inspection lot for the inspection types directly integrated to SD, it will furnish the Sales order number \ Customer.
    But the inspection type 04 is purely have it's relation to Production process. So it will have the details related to integrations it has i.e. the "Pro. Order." Hence it integrates QM-PP, it have the data related to PP (Pro Order), not the SD's one.
    But I think one way you can achieve it,
    Assign the Customer number also to the inspection plan along with the Material. So I think at the time of assigning the inspection plan to the inspection lot, it will refer the Customer number also and will display the Customer number along with Task list Group\Group Counter, in the inspection specification screen in QA03/02

    1) New Inspection Type Created as SG1 at SPRO->QM->Quality Inspection->Inspection Lot Creation->Maintain Inspection types. The maintenance is a copy of type 01.
    2) Assign Inspection Type to Lot Origin at SPRO->QM->Quality Inspection->Inspection Lot Creation->Maintain Inspection Lot Origins and Assign Inspection Types. SG1 is maintained against lot origin 01 with variant 01.
    3) Set Default values for SG1 at SPRO->QM->Quality Inspection->Inspection Lot Creation->Define Default Values for Inspection Type with parameters same as for 01.
    4) In Material master for the record set the inspection setup in the quality management tab. put SG1 as active and preferred. Also set Post to insp Stock, Insp with task list, Auto Assign, Skips allowed, Serial Numbers poss, Control Insp lot as For each Material Doc Item.
    I have to kow how to select the Inspection Plan for the lot and thus set the status of lot to released and get it ready for results.
    I also have BAPI ready for Inspection Result.

    I have tested it and was working fine till last thursday. I have the above mentioned settings even now in the system. Can there be anything else which the functional consultants would have change that affected the process. Anyways now the inspection lot is not getting created for the Inspection during MIGO and I am really struggling to find the exact reason.
    For your info, I am working mostly on Utilities and so do not have much idea about the quality management stuff.

  • Inspection Lot creation for the 103 movement type

    Dear Experts,
    we have the requirement of Creating the Inspection lot for the 103 movement type. we have done all the necessary settings for 103 movement type (in OMJJ and under the node   Quality Management --> Quality Inspection -->Inspection Lot Creation -->Inspection for Goods Movements) but still I am unable to achieve the results. Same is happening for 105 movements.
    Kindly let us know what settings need to be done in order to achieve the same.

    Hi,
    If you have activated two inspection types (eg 01, 0101) of same inspection lot origin (01), in material master you should  have a preferred indicator set for the inspection type for which you want to be selected when you perform goods receipt.
    This check box is available in the inspection type set up in the Material master.
    Also check whether the post to inspection stock indicator is set for the material (in the inspection type), then only material will be posted to inspection stock.
    Please confirm, what happens to the stock after making MIGO. check in MMBE and confirm
    Go through the link and maintain the necessary settings. I think default settings for 01 type should work.

  • Inspection Lot Creation after UD

    Dear PP/QM Masters,
    I have question regarding inspection lot creation after UD for the same batch number.
    There will be several GR during one shift for one SKU with the same batch number.
    F.E. shift (6 am to 2 pm) at 7 there will be first GR of finished good. Inspection lot is automaticly created and QA at 9 will make UD for this lot. If production will made GR after that a new inspection lot will be created for the same production batch.
    Is there any possibility to make only one inspection lot even if UD is taken.

    I guess what bothers me is that for your selection of "2" you include date. Our standard SAP system does not include date on that key choice.  Just material/batch/storage location.
    I re-tested one just to be sure.  Created a new process order for 30. Reveived 15.  Got an 04 inspection lot created.  Processed the lot, posted out the 15 to unrestricted and made the UD with an Accept code.
    Then I GR another 10.  These went straight to unrestricted as I expected.  Then I posted the final 5 in a 3rd GR.  Same result.. straight to unresticited.
    I'm not sure why your not seeing the same.  Again, seeing that 'date' in your number # choice is bothersome.  If some modified that to include the date of receipt and included the time stamp in that, then your going to get new inspection lots.
    Are you sure they didn't post it to a different batch on the second or third posting.  And of course, this does refer to the same process order.. correct?  You not using three different process orders for this are you?

  • Inspection plan selection based on production workcenter for Inspection typ

    Dear QM Guru's,
    I have requirement of automatic inspection lot creation based on production work center.
    For example :- I have Inspection Plan A, Plan B and Plan C for Material XYZ. My requirement is that, when inspection lot created for material XYZ ,when we release production order (Early lot creation) , it should create inspection lot based on production work centers in the order. In this case, if production workcenter A is in the prodiction order, system automatically assigned inspection plan A, when workcenter B,it should choose inspection plan B and same for C workcenter.
    Can we have this set up in the system?

    The workcenters in QM and PP don't have to be the same.  In the user exit your going to code in the logic you want to use to select the inspection plan.
    I suggested creating the workcenters the same and the code can use that info to match up the correct task list group to assign the inspection lot. But if that doesn't work pick something else.
    Your code can use any logic you want.  You can put a description in the short text if you want. 
    You can just have an understanding that task list group 10 is always used for production work center XYZ and task list group 20 is always used for production work center ABC and task list group  30 is always used for production work center 123.  In the user exit you check which production line and just change the group to 10, 20 or 30 then.
    I don't care what you pick or how you do it, neither does the function module.  I believe the function module will pass in the parameters of the task list it is planning to assign.  You then have the ability to use the code to pick a different one and pass back new parameters for the task list.
