Install disc wont load

I purchased adobe photoshop Elements and premiere 13 for windows. I received the disc, loaded it into my dvd drive and it wont load.
I tested the drive with another dvd and it plays fine. any suggestions?

First be sure you have the right disc--you got discs for both mac and windows. In any case, you can download PSE 13 here:

OS X wont boot, install disc wont either!

I am really in trouble here. I just finished a boot camp install and am currently running windows just fine. However, when I try to run OS X (all latest updates) I get a gray screen and a message that says "your computer needs to restart." I tried to use the install disc and the same message pops up. I've tried all the basic stuff and no luck; I cant do anything related to OS X. I really like my OS X install and would like to keep it if possible.

The "You need to restart..." message is called a kernel panic. Usually it is caused by a hardware problem. Have a look at this page for some troubleshooting options.
I'd try booting from your install disc, and then launch Disk Utility from the menu. Repair your boot drive. Are any errors reported?
If so, I'd back up all of your data, reformat the drive and zero out all the data, and then reinstall everything from scratch. If that doesn't fix it, it is likely a hardware problem that will need a repair by an Apple tech. Is it still under warranty?

CS6 Master Suite Discs Wont Load Inorder to Install

I have accepted agreements and registered my products. I have the student CS6 Master Collection and when I insert a disc, any of them, none will even load to the point of prompting to begin installation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This is for a MacBook Pro. When I put the disc in you can hear it start to run then it dies back down to nothing. There is never a screen or error, etc. to come up with direction on what might be occuring. My laptop is able to install this much is for sure - I just installed my new office suite - only seem to be running into issues with the CS6. Please help and Thank you in advance.

I'm not sure how to do this. I am brand new to Mac and the creative suite. I just received my laptop and programs for college that I'll be starting on Monday. Really just don't know which direction to take.

Adobe Creative Suite 6 install disk wont load

Just bought the student edition of the creative suite 6 and the disk refuses to load. I am running Mac OSX 10.6.8. What is the problem?

Try running the Disk on the different computer and check , If disk doesn't work there either then

Satellite L10-151 wont load XP or recovery disc

I have a Satellite L10-151 model and it wont load windows. Every time I try and start it, it says operating system not found. When I put the Toshiba recovery discs in that came with the notebook and I also bought a windows XP disc that wont load either.
I have also taken the hard drive out and put another one in and it works fine so it must be the hard drive but dont no what.
I have also tried installing windows 7 that doesnt work either :s
Please help? The HDD has everything on it.

In my opinion the CD/DVD drive cannot read the inserted disk and therefore its not possible to boot and to install the new OS.
It could be an problem with the CD/DVD drive or the ODD is not able to handle this one recovery disk
Try to copy/burn the recovery disk using another computer.
Possibly the notebooks CD/DVD drive would be able to handle this second disk and you could be able to install the Win XP
From my experience this helps in many times especially if the issue is related to the ODD

IMac wont load install DVD 10.5 on iMac g4

I have older iMac g4, which i've kept for design-reasons - its nice to look at.
I bought it as demo-model from a dealer when the model just had gone out of production.
It runs OSX 10.3.9.
I wanted to upgrade to 10.5, so I bought an original second-hand DVD;
"MAC OS Leopard - Install DVD - Version 10.5 - 2Z691-6037-A" (black-blue color; NOT grey)
It wont load at all. It just runs in the drive for 10 - 15 seconds and then autoejects. Same thing if I restart pressing "c". At no time does the disc appear on the desktop or a start window opens. Just nothing.
The CD drive works ok - can read and burn.
I tried to start the Install DVD in the new iMac and the iBook; both macs can read the dvd and opens the install window.
What should I do ?

It sounds like a problem with the Mac not being able to read the disc rather than the disc being an upgrade-only edition etc as it won't even read it - do other DVDs (not just CDs, as sometimes a drive will partly die and be able to read CDs but not DVDs, or vice versa) definitely work in the drive?
I think a few of the early iMac G4s came with only a CD-RW drive ie not compatible with DVDs at all, so again testing another DVD will show if you have one of those. If this is the case you could try using Target mode to install using the DVD drive in another Mac, if you don't want to replace/upgrade the drive in the G4.

HELP! My iMac wont respond to install disc or any commands

I know I'm taking a trip in the "Way back" machine. But I'm pretty resourseful and haven't been able to find my problem. Either I need a Mac super genius or it’s something stupid simple that I’m overlooking.

iMac G4 Serial# XXXXXXXX Sep. 2003 – July 2004
1.25GHZ/ 256MB/ 80GB 17” Screen
PowerPC 7445
History: I bought this used with the computer’s monitor backlight out. I could still barely see the sign-in page when I looked at a certain angle, so that was an indicator to me that the OS was working. So I replaced the monitor. At the same time because of owner exchange I had to replace the hard drive with a fully wiped blank one (Deskstar ATA/IDE). I purchased an install disc set 10.4.8, which according to Apple this computer is compatible with 10.2.3 thru10.5.8.
Problem: After reassembly, the replacement monitor works fine. But the system won’t respond to anything. All I get is the gray screen with the apple smiley face folder that alternates with a question mark. It won’t respond to the install disc, or any commands for that matter. Of course I double, triple, and quadruple checked my connections from reassmebling. Here’s what I’ve attempted, all ending up with the same screen display.
During power-up
C (…of     course to boot from the install disc. It just ejects the disc after about     30 seconds)
CMD-OPT-SHIFT-DEL
D (wont     respond to hardware test)
CMD-S     (won’t go into single user mode. It just goes to the same gray screen)
OPT (this     is the only way I get a different screen. It shows the recycle page symbol     and continue symbol. It will recycle the OPT process to stay on this     screen, but it won’t continue if I press that selection – nothing happens
I’ve reset the PRAM
I’ve tried different keyboards (all Apple)
I’ve tried plugging the keyboard into different USB slots
I’ve replaced the Hard Drive with yet another just in case. I’ve tried alternate jumper settings on the hard drive. The original wasset to “Cable”, so I set it to that. But I also tried “Master” jumper settings– no change in results. I can’t say for certain that I hear the DVD/CD drive spin up. But I figure even if I had a bad install disc or bad optical drive, I should still be able to get to the black screen single user mode, yes? So I’m at my wits end. Can any of you Mac geniuses out there please help me? Thanks

Install discs are specific to the machine they came with. You cannot use them on any other machine, so the ones you bought are useless. Buy a retail black faced copy of either Tiger or Leopard and you should be able to boot your machine, you need to format the drive as Mac OS extended (Journaled) when you first boot from the new retail disc.
I have also asked that your serial number be removed, it's not a good idea to post it.

Installing software on my Mac Air & MBP - installer wont load

Hi all
I am hoping some one is technically savvy enough to help me trouble shoot this problem. I recently purchased a new digital camera and am trying to install the software disc that came with the camera. I unfortunately need to install the software disc so that it loads the necessary files for me to process the raw digital files that came out of the camera so using things like iphoto etc is no good for me.
The issue I have is when I double click the installer it momentarily flashes up and then disappears???? I cannot figure out WHY?? So I have tried to trouble shoot as best as possible. Here is what I have done and results to date.
1. Tried to Install this on my MacBook Pro. Installer flashes up momentarily and disappears?
2. Tried to install this on my Mac Air also running OS X Snow Leopard. Same issue?? So far conclude its not machine related
3. Downloaded another install disc off the internet and tried to run that version. Same ISSUE. So its not issues related to my CD.
4. Stripped out previous versions of the software on my MAC Air to ensure its not causing issues. Same problem
5. Checked online forums and other uses and purchasers of the digital camera ARE able to install the software on their macs!!!
6. Uninstalled every single APP that I have installed on my MAC air and tried to get it back to stock. Try again. Still fail????????
7. Updated the OS X software to ensure everything is up to date.
8. Grabbed the OLD version of the software disc that came with my previous digital camera (same brand) and installed that CD (version 23 - for those familiar with Canon DSLR). that loads up correctly and allows me to install. Version 25 the latest that comes with my new Canon DSLR doesnt load up.
I am stuck !!! I cannot pin point the issue. I dont understand OS X enough to debugg or log what the potential issue is.
I started up the Activity Monitor and watched closely in the my Process specifically for the process that I start up (SetUp)
I noticed that the Setup process name registers. Then another process starts up UniversalInstaller then both of them disappears?????????? and nothing happens in my comp!!!!!
Is there some way for me to debug this ?? look at log file?? enable error logging or has ANY one got any idea what may be the issue???
I've essentially bought a VERY VERY expensive DLSR and I cannot edit my raw files because I cannot install the software!!

Downloading as we speak, and the first explanation that comes to mind is that both files have a .rar extension, and that since OS X doesn't support this archive format, you need to install a third-party utility to open them.
One files tool to open .rar files is The Unarchiver (here), and another is Stuffit Expander (there). 7zip also proposes a Mac version (here). All three will decompress a .rar file, and let you access the .dmg file(s) inside.
Also, depending on the browser you're using, and provided you might be inclined to open trusted files directly (I use Opera, and seldom save safe download; I click on "Open" in the download dialogue), your files could very well open... in the browser cache folder, out of sight. But if you use Safari, Chrome or Firefox, and you don't have any utility installed to handle .rar files, that's doubtful. I'm going to open your files now, and check if I can install them.

Edit: decompressing the first file using The Unarchiver shows that the archive is "incomplete". Which leads me to think that you might have to concatenate the two files to make one "complete" .dmg file.
If so, once they are decompressed, open a Terminal (in Applications/Utility), then type "cat", and drag both files in the window, one after the other (preferably in the right order...), type a space, then give the final file any name you want, followed by the .dmg file extension:
(e.g.:) "cat /Users/Your_Name/Desktop/File1.dmg /Users/Your_Name/File2.dmg /Users/Your_Name/Desktop/FinalFile.dmg"

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove".
Restart the PC, and try another install. Does it go through properly this time?

If 10.7.0 or later...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partitirion & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
If that doesn't help Reinstall the OS.

MacBook Pro will not load Final Cut Studio 2 Install disc?!

So, this is the first time in all my years as a Mac user that I haven't been able to find info online about a problem I'm having with my machine.
Firstly, I've never had optical drive issues. Secondly, all other disks I try are still loading and playing perfectly (including other disks in the FCS2 box, e.g. the tutorials).
BUT when I insert the Final Cut Studio 2 Install disc, the drive sounds like it's trying to load the disc over and over, but it never gets spinning properly. The disc doesn't appear in my finder and after about 30 seconds my MacBook just spits it back out.
I've restarted, I've closed all other apps etc. but nothing helps.
Also, this same disc works fine in my parents' 17" MacBook Pro...
Please someone tell me what the **** is going on

You have probably already done it but ensure you have updated the OS and Quicktime prior to attempting to instal Final Cut Studio.
I recently had a hard drive crash and after installing the new hard drive it would not read the OS installation disc. I ended up using an external drive case and installed the OS on the drive from a different Mac Book, then reinstalled the hard drive in the other Mac Book. Then it booted right up. I updated all the original software before attempting to install any additional software.
Everyone kept saying it wouldn't install due a possibly defective optical drive and I can't say why but it wasn't the drive. As soon as I had the system up and running again the optical drive functioned flawlessly.

Because I know enough to be dangerous... I was trying to extend the two outside columns down.... Instead of just using faux columns which I have fixed since I posted the question.
The other link problem is the left sidebar links. When you go to the event photos page I have a repeat of the sidebar links that are on the newsletter page. I used named anchors on the newsletter page to link to the particular article. From the Event Photos page the links look like this:

The problem I am having is that some of these go to the newsletter page and the anchor and some do not (I get an error message saying it can't find the page). To add to the problem is that when we choose say the President's Message, when it goes to the newsletter page and the correct anchor, the newsletter page is missing all the links to the graphics... the photos are missing the graphic for the faux columns is missing. It makes no sense. When I preview the newsletter page from Dreamweaver everything shows up fine.
I do not know if all of this is being caused because I haven't posted this stuff to the site or what. I've tried re-booting both the browser and Dreamweaver, dumping the cache and still the same nonsense.
Got any ideas?

If all else fails,like holding mouse buttn down on bootup...
Other than that, you can slide the door of the optical downwards with your fingers, then use a straightened out paper clip to push into that tiny hole to eject the tray.
