Install file(s) action - wrong file's modification date

Hi,
here is my problem:
Files installed by bundle with "Install file(s)" action (or "Install Folder") have wrong "modification date" - actually set to: 17th january 1970.
Zenworks 11.3, agent 11.3 or 11.2.4 mu1
Anyone has this problem?
Regards, ALipiec

Just for info:
I am on 11.3 and installed the file upload extension ZENworksFileUploadPlugin.msi with my user.
I tested the "Install File(s)" function with Firefox 17 ESR:
I only see the problem with date 12 January 1970 if I upload the file with I select "Do not compress or encrypt uploaded content".
If I leave that switch unchecked the Creation, Modification, Access -Date are all the same and seem to be the time of the upload into the Repository.
Even if I upload the file several times into repository it seems that the very first upload date/time is always kept for all following installations.

  • Launching Microsoft Access from Internet Explorer to view a downloaded MDB file opens the wrong file (not a problem if I use Firefox)

    When clicking on a link (in Internet Explorer 9) to download an Access MDB file and then choosing to open the file directly in Microsoft Access (2007) instead of saving it, the file is copied to Temporary Internet Files but Microsoft Access tries to open
    a different file and displays an (Unrecognized database format) error.
    When I click on the option to open the file, the MDB file is copied to Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5 but instead of that file, Access tries to open a different (incorrect) file located in Temporary Internet Files\Content.MSO (e.g. in the above error
    message, NativeView.do is an XML file containing an error message).
    I don't see this problem with Word, Excel or PowerPoint files. When opening a Word file (without saving) the Word file is copied to Content.IE5 but an identical .tmp file is created in Content.MSO which when opened in Microsoft Word displayed the required file
    correctly. The same happens for Excel files. PowerPoint appears to be handled a little differently (no .tmp file created in Content.MSO but the required file is still copied to Content.IE5) but the PPT file is still opened correctly in Microsoft PowerPoint.
    I think the Content-Type "application/msaccess" is fine because Internet Explorer does launch Microsoft Access. It just tries to open the wrong file (or so I think). However, it looks like the file type is not being determined. Here is what I noticed
    when trying to open different Microsoft Office files using Internet Explorer:
    The last one is the MDB file. As you can see, only for this type of file, the "Type" (Microsoft Office Access 2007?) is not displayed in this Open/Save dialog box.
    On Firefox, I don't see this problem. When I tried clicking on the link to the MDB file in Firefox, Microsoft Access was launched and the file was opened correctly. Is there something I can do so the MDB file is opened properly using IE? I can add/change headers
    in the HTTP response that writes this file to the output stream (on disk) if that helps.
    Thanks for your time!

    Sounds like a problem symptom to be discussed in either an IE forum or an Access forum, not here.  How did you come to post here?  ForumsRedesign.  That might be an on-topic issue for this forum.  <eg>
    Can you find your way to either of those other forums easily from here?  Another on-topic question for here I think.   ; )

  • [SOLED] Firefox input type = file selects the wrong file

    When I have use a webpage in firefox that has an upload feature, Firefox often selects the wrong file. I can reproduce this problem by simply creating a form with an input tag like this:
    <input type="file" />
    When I enter the file selection screen and open fileA the input box contains fileA, fileB or fileC. It seems kind of random to me. I use KDE 4.5 btw, if that matters.

    It seems to be some kind of kde problem. When I delete ~/.kde4/share/config/* it works fine. I tried deleting the all files in share/config starting with a-m and it still didn't work. Then I deleted every file from n-z and it didn't work so it's probably a combination of files that give these problems. I don't feel like setting up KDE all over again so damn, it's back to Icewm, again...

  • Firefox downloads a file with the wrong file extension. How can I fix this?

    The title says it all. When I download files, it comes out with the wrong extension, not sure what extension it comes out as.
    It actually just comes out as "file."
    How can I fix this? Is there something in about:config I can tweak to eliminate this error?

    Hi dartz!
    This type of problems are not related with the browser you are using, in this case, Firefox. This issues are the consequence of the way that the website "packed" the file.
    What you should do is download the file, locate the file, give right click on the file and select "Rename". Now, don't change the name!!! Just add "." and then the extension that you wanted. Example, you download the file "norwegianwood", after renaming it, it should read "norwegianwood.srt".
    Hope this works for you, take care!

  • DNG file modification date not changed by writing metadata?

    I use LR 2.7 on Windows XP.   To my surprise, I just noticed that writing metadata updates (e.g., new keywords) from LR to the DNG files does NOT appear to update the file modification date, which suggests obvious issues for backup strategies (yes, I understand that a changed modification date introduces other backup issues).   I have verfifed that the metatdata does indeed change in the DNG files, so I am mystified.   Can someone shed some light on this?   Thanks.
    js
    www.johnshorephoto.com

    Yes, I explicitely invoke "save metadata to file".   Furthemore, I have checked the behavior by (a) modifying DNGs in LR; (b) saving the metatdata to the DNG; (c) creating a new LR catalog and importing the revised DNGs.    The metadata changes do show up in the re-imported DNGs (and the metadata field "Metadata Date" correctly shows the recent change).  Morevover, the file sizes do change (wth the metadata changes) even though the modification dates shown in windows explorer do not change.
    However, I just redid the experiment to double check, and discovered an important clue - the mysterious behavior occurs when the DNG files are on a NAS device (in particular a Netgear ReadyNAS Duo.   To summarize:
         - When the DNG files are on a local hard drive, the file modification dates change as expected
         - When the DNG files are non local (i.e., on the network but on a NAS device), the file modification dates do not change even though the file sizes do change;
    What's more, I see the same behavior when accessing the DNGs via Adobe Bridge (CS5) - i.e., if I change the metadata, I'm asked if I want to apply the metadata changes to the DNG, and I say yes (and confirm by looking via Bridge at a copy of the changed file).   On a local disk, the file modificaiton dates change (as do the modification date displayed in Bridge), but if the files are on the NAS, the modification dates do not.
    Any additional thoughts?

  • Receive Location picks up files not equal to file mask

    Hi,
    I have a solution with two Receive Ports. Each port has one Receive Location bound to it and they both point to the same file directory but with different file masks.
    RL1 has file mask F5*.xml
    RL2 has file mask XC5*.xml
    I have noticed one or two times that RL1 is picking up files with the wrong file mask. File XC5040976.916.xml was picked up by RL1 with the result that the wrong map is applied. I am using two ports because the root node is the same in both schemas
    and this was the simplest way to separate them.
    Do you think this is a bug? The workaround would be to also have separate file directorys but I should not have to do that. In my opinion the different file masks should be enough.
    Any ideas?
    Regards
    Anders

    Are you sure that one of two things is not happening:
    - The files being written has temporary names while being written and are not locked?
    - It is actually the correct Receive Location that picks up the message but something else in your logic is wrong?
    Can you try to disable RL2 and verify whether or not RL1 ever picks up a file that begins with XC5..?

  • Anyone experience incorrect modification dates with 10.4 server?

    Maybe this is a bug, maybe not, but I have received numerous reports from coworkers of a problem with the finder's 'modification' date for files hosted on 10.4 servers (running 10.4.3 now) in two separate locations. This behavior was not occurring prior to the 10.4 upgrade and it is now happening both via AFP and SMB from 10.4 and 10.3 client machines.
    The way this occurs is when a user simply wants to view a file, a word document for example, they open it, view it and then close it without making any changes (there is no prompt when they close to 'save changes'). In the finder the file will now have it's 'modification' date updated to the time the user closed the file. However, the file was NOT modified when it was closed and so its modification date should have remain unchanged. Also of note, the 'last opened' date remains blank. This does not occur with every file on the server (it largely appears to impact Word, Excel and CAD files) but it is sufficiently easy to replicate that it has inevitably started to cause a great deal of confusion.
    Is this something that other users have experienced? Is there a setting tucked away in AFP to correct this or is it a bug that hasn't been addressed? I may have missed it, but I am surprised I've not seen any other posts about this.
    Thanks -- George
      Mac OS X (10.4.3)

    I have also seen this problem, and heard of it at other locations. It seems to have started for us after upgrading the file server to 10.4. We have clients running 10.3.9 and Office 2004. The modification date change only occurs when the user is not the owner of the file, but has read access via "group" or "other" privileges. There is some traffic in the microsoft mac word newsgroup about this issue (from August 2005!), but no solutions. Anyone with an idea of how best to complain to Apple and Microsoft about this issue is more than welcome to chime in.

  • Why does this script changes modification date???

    Hello All,
    I am using this script with an Acrobutton to advise my users of the current PDF version.
    var stmDoc = Collab.documentToStream(this)
    var strDoc = util.stringFromStream(stmDoc);
    var strVer = strDoc.substr(5,3)
    app.alert({cMsg: "The PDF version is: " + strVer, nIcon: 3, nType: 0, cTitle: "PDF Version Check"});
    Problem is that when closing the document, even though not prompted, the file is saved (assumed, since the modification date changes).
    Is there anything about this script that is doing this?

    I added a "this.dirty = false;" to the end, but it does not do as I had hoped. The pdf does not prompt for a save, which is what I understand the dirty flag to be effecting. The modification date changes anyway. Am I not using the dirty flag correctly? Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm trying to open the CR2 files in Bridge to adjust them before I open them up in Photoshop, but it's giving me an error code saying it's the wrong file type. I downloaded the latest updates for Adobe Raw as well as the DNG converter, however I don't want to have to convert to DNG before opening in Bridge. Please let me know what I can do to open the CR2 files directly in Bridge CS4, thank you!

  • Wrong file modification times through api?

    Hello guys,
    it seems to me that the CS5 server has a problem with the file modification date. The first time I saw this was when I tried to get the modification time of the current document opened on the server through app.documents[0].filePath.modified. It always returned the wrong time and I was not able to fix this, so I let the feature down. Now I think I found another situation where this "bug" seems to take place.
    - Export a story into incopy format (icml)
    - change the local icml-file
    - update the link on the server, everything ok
    - another change on the local file
    - update the link, and now, the content is not updated
    - save document
    - restart server
    - open document again
    - update link, and the content is updated correctly
    Maybe this two problems are connected but I can not say this for sure. I hope a developer can take a look at this.
    Thanks

  • How do I install Snow Leopard while keeping files, applications, and settings

    I need to update my system, I realized that I need Snow Leopard (quiet late) before Maverick. My question is, how can I install it keeping files and all the data. I found this on Internet, does it work?
    Install Snow Leopard while keeping files, applications, and settings
    If you follow these steps, the installer will replace your operating system if one is already present, but will preserve your account information and personal files.  You may have to reinstall some applications, however.
    Insert the install disc (or the first install disc if you have more than one) into your disc drive. Restart your computer while holding down the c key. This causes your computer to start up from the install disc rather than your hard drive. When you see the gray Apple insignia, release c .
    The Mac OS X installer should open automatically. Follow the on-screen prompts to read and accept the license agreement and begin the installation. When prompted to choose a destination disk, select your preferred location and click Install.
    When the Mac OS X installation finishes with the disc, restart your computer. After the installation completes, a configuration program may begin automatically if you are installing for the first time. You will need to supply basic setup information for your computer.
    Update your system software to ensure that you have the most recent operating system components.  From the Apple menu, select Software Update... , and then follow the instructions on the screen. Often, you will have to restart your computer, and you may have to run Software Update multiple times before it can completely update your system.

    That's why you need to back it up. You won't need to restore the backup immediately afterwards unless something goes wrong during the upgrade, but you'll need it later; the drive will eventually fail.

  • File window not updating modif. dates – and mysterious parallel universe discovered

    The day started innocently enough when I tried to edit some <meta> content on a site I'm building and then saved my work. Little did I know...
    DW's "File" window refused to update the "Modified" column of the files I worked on.  Open and closing the files shows that my changes have been recognized and incorporated into the HTML, and the files show up with correct modification dates in Finder (I'm on a Mac). They just won't change date in DW.
    When I upload the modified-but-not-redated-in-DreamWeaver files to my remote site, they appear with the incorrect dates on the server, but a text comparison in DW shows that my local and remote files are synched.
    Now for the truly weird part: when I run the site in Safari (after flushing its cache), a Source check shows the old code is still operational.  (I also changed the titles of the pages in question to quickly confirm which version was being displayed. This check shows the old title displayed.)
    Here's the site address:  http://www.bearriverbooks.com/index.html
    Now for the truly, truly wierd part.  I have a parallel site ( http://www.queen-of-the-northern-mines.com/index.html ) which contains copies of the bearriverbooks.com files. These files, too, show the wrong modification dates in DW's "Files" window and on the remote server – but they display correctly. Anyone who wants to check can compare page titles, which are longer in the later pages with correct code.
    I checked the remote site addresses in the "Manage Sites..." center.  I have not crossed my wires there (though I can smell a few arcing badly in my brain.).

    I am having the same issue on a Mac 3.4Ghz i7 running Mac OS 10.7.  I have Dreamweaver CS 5.5 v.11.5 Build 5344.
    I have a linux webserver, running ProFTPD v.1.3.1
    Both my mac and my linux server are set to the correct date and time.
    And ls on the linux servers tells me the files have the correct modified date and time, but this is getting lost in translation to dreamweaver when I view the remove server in the File tab.
