Installation of BI Content cube

Hi,
We are going for a fresh BI implementation. Nothing is installed as of now. When I am trying to install one of the cubes with the grouping option 'in data flow before and after' its giving error for all the infobojects saying that they are not available in active version.
My impression was that if I choose the goruping opetion as mentioned above it should automatically install and activate the required infoobjects as well? Is this not correct? If not then how should I go about it please advise.

Hi,
Use grouping option as "necessary objects".
if u select in dataflow before then it has to activate so many objects.
So the system can't activate all the objects at a time.
Try to activate all the Infoobjects required for the cube first,
then try activating cube, then datasources and transformations..

    Post replication from R3 to BI, we only replicate datasources and no other BI Contents.
    For installation of BI contents you need to be in the BI Dev server. Go to RSA1 and on DW Worbench go to 'BI Content'. Select 'Object types' from the menu. You will get the list of all BI Object Categories. you could select any of the categories -
    In 'Grouping' decide if you wish to install only necessary objects or Objects before and after the specific Object that you wish to install for eg. If you install an Info cube then do you also wish to install the MP associated with it then select 'After'. If you wish to install 'Transformations' , DTP's that led to the building of the Cube then select 'Before'.
    You can try and simulate the installation and check for possible errors so that you can mitigate them by doing proper selection of objects.

    1. Start the Administrator Workbench: Business Content(transaction RSOR) in the BW system.
    2. If you have not yet created a logical system for the current client in this system, the system will display a message informing you of this. Proceed as recommended in this message:
    a. Create a logical system for your local system and the current client by choosing the Create button.
    b. Create the logical system on the overview screen of the Logical Systems view by choosing New Entries. Enter <SysID>clnt<client> as the name of the logical system in both columns, save your entries, and exit the screen by choosing (Back).
    c. You are on the initial message screen again. As a next step, assign a client to the logical system by choosing the Assign button.
    d. Create the assignment for the current client on the overview screen of the Clients view by double-clicking the entry for the corresponding client and entering <SysID>clnt<client> again in the Logical System input field on the detail screen for this view. Save your entries and leave the screen by choosing (Back).
    e. The system displays a message asking if you also want to replicate the meta data. Confirm that you want to perform the replication.
    3. Choose Grouping --> Only necessary objects.
    4. In the navigation bar, choose the Packages area.
    5. Expand the BW: Content CCMS System Management Data (RS_BCT_CCMS_CPH) subtree, and expand all subtrees of this package.
    6. Select all objects of the above package. The easiest way to do this is to select the first object of the package in the list, scroll down, and then select the last object of the package while holding down the SHIFT key.
    7. Drag the selected objects to the subarea on the right (Collected Objects).
    You can ignore error messages saying that the root nodes of the subareas were not transferred.
    8. Choose the button Install --> Install to perform the content installation.
    9. If parts of the installed Business Content are already active, the system displays a separate screen informing you of this and asking whether you want to use the Active Version or the Content Version. You can overwrite the active version. To do this, select all checkboxes for Content Version and choose the Transfer Without Confirmation button.

  • Not able to add new fields in Content cube

    Hi all
    I think I had this post earlier too, but I haven't been able to add new fields in a Business content cube. I added them in the cube but I am not sure how to update the datasource, infosource, update rule etc. in proper manner.

    I am doing the third options. feeding data from source system and I tried to add them into the infosource it didn't work. In this case, do you think I need to update the data sourece too, if so how do I do that it's function module. data source I am using is '0ME_ISM_AM_REV_1'. So please give me some more details.     To transfer and activate a DataSource delivered by SAP with Business Content, in transaction SBIW in the source system choose Business Information Warehouse à Business Content DataSources or Activating SAP Business Content àTransfer Business Content DataSources.
    The following figure displays the DataSources in an overview according to the application component.
           2.      Select the nodes in the application component hierarchy for which you want to transfer DataSources into the active version. Do so by positioning the cursor on the node and choosing Highlight Subtree.
    The DataSources lying under the subtree and other subtrees are selected.
           3.      To check for differences between the active and delivery versions of the DataSources, choose Select Delta.
    DataSources for which differences were found in the check (for example, due to changes to the extractor) are highlighted in yellow.
           4.      To analyze the differences between active and delivered versions of a particular DataSource, select the DataSource and choose Version Comparison. The application log contains further information regarding the version comparison.
           5.      To transfer a DataSource from the delivery version into the active version, select it in the overview tree using the button Highlight Subtree and choose Transfer DataSources.
    If an error occurs, the error log appears.
    Regardless of whether data has been successfully transferred into the active version, you can call the log by choosing Display Log.
           6.      To provide the active version of the DataSource in the connected BI systems and to enable data extraction and transfer, replicate the DataSource(s) with a metadata upload to the BI system.
    and in RSA1 in businuess content search ur required cube and select all the req fielsds in the next colums and select before and after is a must..in the selection field..
    this will solve ur issue..

    When we are extracting data from LOS for ex, 2lis_12_vaitm, 2lis_12_scl or others. some times we are not using the SAP business content cubes. We are creating our own cubes by using the standard LOS.
    Can some one please give a clear explnation of some examples which LOS DS and why we have gone for other then business content cube.

    If we want more additional fields to be added to the cube, or the fields in the cube is no longer relevant for our analysis we decide for custom cubes
    In that case, we modify the datasources and extract data to accomadate in cubes

    We have tables which gives the information about that, if u want u can create a view on these tables in RSO2 in BW and load the data to the Zcube.
    Below are the tables.
    RSDCUBE     - Directory of InfoCubes
    RSDCUBEIOBJ - Objects per InfoCube (where-used list)
    RSDDIMEIOBJ -
    RSDCUBEMULTI -InfoCubes involved in a MultiCube
    RSDICMULTIIOBJ - MultiProvider Selection/ Identification             of                          InfoObjects

  • Roles and queries Technical content cube

    Dear Experts,
    Is anyone aware of any technical content cube that has information about roles and which queries those roles have access to?
    ie. I need Roles - Query mapping
    I have already looked in to AGR_1251 table but here the direct value is not present. I will have to evaluate the S_RS_COMP and
    S_RS_COMp1 authorization objects. Iam looking for another method. So please dont suggest AGR_1251 table.

    Hi Kris,
      The way that is there to find out the query - mapping details is already known to you which is the best possible way. But apart from that if you would like to know the roles present in your system then you can simply use the Metadata Repository that is already there and is easily accessible.
    1) Just go to the RSA1-> Left hand side bottom -> Metadata Repository -> Click on it or use tcode RSORMDR.
    2) You will get list for all the Activated objects in your production system.
    3) Locate the Role object from Right hand side.
    4) On clicking the Role you will get all the roles that have been created in your system.
    If you want the role related to a query then you can simply select the Query object from the metadata repository, you will get list of all queries & further clicking on the query will give you entire details about the query like roles etc.
    Also you can use your own method.
    You will need to write your own abap to get the details by writing logic which compares the data from both the tables and displays the data accordingly else the best option that is always there is using Metadata Repository.

  • Installation of BI Content SP09

    Hi SAP BI experts,
    we are running SAP BI 7.0 with BI Content AddOn 3 Patch Level 0. In order to resolve some problems with queries on virtual InfoCube 0FIGL_V10 we want to install Support Package 9 for BI Content (see also SAP Note 1121942). Unfortunately  we haven't found any documentation on the installation of BI Content support packages. It would be great if anyone could give me some answers to my questions:
    Is patching the BI Content the one and only solution to our problem with the queries on 0FIGL_V10?
    If not, is there an easier way to get the problem solved?
    How do I install the Support Package 9 BI Content Patch?
    Do I have to install all previous support packages for sp9 to work (we are at AddOn 3 PatchLevel 000)?
    What are known problems/side effects of BI Content patching?
    Are the InfoObjects, InfoProvider etc. activated from BI Content replaced in the A-version or simply in D-version?
    Do I have to patch the BI Content in our source system SAP ECC 6.0 IDES as well?

    you are doing almost Correct way only; but the thing when you are installing BI  Content objects please check whether the same active or not, if not go for install the object and use it for your work.

  • Is it possible to delete data selectively from Business content cubes

    Dear Experts,
             Requesting you to help me out to know, is it possible to delete data selectively from Business content cubes.
    When I'm trying to delete selectively from Business content cubes, the background job gets cancelled with ST22 logs stating
    A RAISE statement in the program "SAPLRSDRD" raised the exception  condition "X_MESSAGE".                                                                               
    Since the exception was not intercepted by a superior program, processing was terminated.  
    and i tried  with few more Technical content cubes but the same thing happens.
    Pls let me know how to selectively delete data from Business content cubes if it's possible?.

    Follow below steps for selective deletion:
    1.     Transaction code: Use the Transaction code DELETE_FACTS.
    2.     Generate selective deletion program:
    A report program will be generated of the given name, here .
    3.     Selection screen:
    Take the deletion program u201CZDEL_EPBGu201D to the transaction code SE38 to see/execute the program.
    After executing it will take you to a selection screen:
    As we need to carry out deletion selective on Calendar week, we need to get the screen field for the field Calendar week. For this, click on the Calendar week field and press F1.
    Click on the technical information button (marked in red box above) you will get below screen:
         ABAP program to carry out the Calendar week calculation
    Problem scenario: As stated earlier the requirement is to delete the data from the cube based on the calendar week. Thus a code must be developed such that the number of weeks should be taken as input and corresponding calendar week should be determined. This calendar week should be then passed to the deletion program in order to carry out the data deletion from the InfoCube.
         Transaction code: Use T-code SE38 in order to create a program.
    Logic: Suppose we need to delete the data older than 100 weeks.
    a.     Get the number of weeks and system date in variables and calculate the total number of days :
    lv_week = 100.      *number of weeks      
    lv_dte = sy-datum.     *system date
    v_totaldays = lv_week * 7.      *total days
    b.     Get the corresponding calendar day from the total days. This is obtained by simply subtracting the total no. of days from the system date.
    lv_calday = lv_dte - v_totaldays. *corresponding calday.     
    c.     Now in order to get the calendar week corresponding to the calculated calendar day we must call a function module 'DATE_TO_PERIOD_CONVERT'. This function module takes input as Calendar day and Fiscal year variant and returns the appropriate fiscal period.

    d.     Now we have obtained the required calendar week in the v_week variable. This calendar week is the week till which we need to keep the data. And older data than this week will be deleted. This deletion will be done by the deletion program
    Submitting the Data deletion program for ZEPBGC01 and key field
    SUBMIT ZDEL_EPBG WITH C039 LT v_week.
              Here the calendar week value is submitted to the deletion program ZDEL_EPBG with the screen field of calendar week.

      When I try to install the BI content cube, In logs it is showing the error message as "Source client not Active". I activated the source system in modelling tab. Still the problem continues.  In source system assignment of BI content the source client is also checked. Please give me a solution.

    If you want to select only infocube, select "Only necessary objects" in grouping. If you want everything related to Info cube, then system will collect data source also and for that it will check if you are authorized in source system. Please check if the source system is connected to BI or you can do one thing activate the data source in source system and replicate it in BI.

    Thanks. I am using this extractor. But their are some shortcomings. The first criteria is to comapare the std. cost against the invoiced or paid cost. Second scenario is if there is no invoice, then std. cost should be compared with goods receipt cost. Third is, if there is no goods receipt, then compare std. cost against the cost in the P.O.
    So, I am using UM & BF extractors and for cost on the purchase oreders do I need to bring in the Purchase order extractor?
