Installations failed on Win XP
Hi,
I'm really in trouble, because any kind of Oracle Installation, and especially 92010NT_CLT fail due to the following reasons (error messages translated from french) :
Error when loading WindowsGeneralQueries, and
Error when loading AreasQueries, and so on
I even tried to download and install disk1, disk2, and disk3 (the complete distribution) but the same happens
Do you have any clue?

I found the solution:
the reason is that my installation path is too long
it was C:\Documents and Settings\...\Oracle\92010NT_CLT\Install\Win32
I turned to C:\Oracle\92010NT_CLT\Install\Win32
and now it works fine

Lightroom 5.7 Installer Fails on Win 8.1 - Windows compatibility reports incompatible
Have had a case open since 15.2 and getting nowhere (0186366824). Was wondering if anybody here has encountered this issue and resolved?
New PC, clean install of Windows 8.1. My old 3.6 version of LR returned an installer failure and was advised it was incompatible and I needed to upgrade. 5.7 now behaves the same.
To date I have been instructed to downland full versions of LR - 5.5, 5.6 and 5.7. All fail at the installer running as Admin.
The last direction from support was a little scary considering I own numerous Adobe products:-
Please follow these steps to remove all Adobe folders from your computer and then retry to install it back:
Remove Adobe Folders:-
> C:\Program Files\Adobe*
> C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe*
> C:\Program Files\Common Files\Macrovision Shared
> C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe*
> C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe*
> C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Macrovision Shared
> (Hidden) C:\ProgramData\Adobe*
> C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet

Roaming\Adobe*

Remove Adobe folders:-
Registry Editor (Type "Regedit" in Run windows)
> Go to Hkey Local Machine\Software\Adobe
> Hkey Current User\Software\Adobe
Now install Lightroom 5 from the below mentioned link:
http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5741
And then Enter the serial Key of Lightroom 5 and then Lightroom 1
It will install and activate the product.Thank you very much.
I did uninstall Adobe Air, Adobe Reader XI and another Adobe product, rebooted, and after this the installation was possible with no problems! -

A quick Internet search suggests that this error is not specific to
GroupWise and people have seen it (for DLL_.ini) with several different
applications on Windows XP and later.
Unfortunately I haven't found a specific solution although InstallShield
crops up. There was a reference to the temporary directory (%TEMP%) so
check that's there is free disk space, user has rights to that, etc.

The setup program fails just after asking for the installation directory. It just hangs...

of the product were installed on the system, check %TEMP% directory for any leftover files called WindowsNativeToolkit* or setupSDKNative.exe and remove them before restarting the setup. -

Installation of Photoshop Elements 12 fails on Win 8.1, 64bit
Hello.
The Installation of Photoshop Elements 12 fails on Win 8.1, 64bit.
Clost to the end of the installation I get the message: There is an error at the installation of the "shared used technologies" (translation) and the uninstaller starts automatically.
System: Asus A7v5 Laptop, Win 8.1, 64 bit, German, 8 GB RAM
I tried it 3 times. Also after fresh restart.
The first time even the un-installer routine failed and left me with a system on which it was neither possible to run the installer again - un-installer started automatically - nor to un-install the product.
The failure log does not show any error. (Log below)
Any help would be appreciated.

I did uninstall Adobe Air, Adobe Reader XI and another Adobe product, rebooted, and after this the installation was possible with no problems! -
Installer failed to initialize in win 8.1
I am trying to install my Dreamweaver CS5, and I get the "Installer failed to initialize" error message.
I followed the link for analysis of the installer, but could not open the .mlf file.
I contacted Adobe support and they gave me a link to download the software, but I still get the same error message.

Cp7 win assets installer failing
I'm having difficulty with the win assets files to download and install character images to insert in my Cap 7 application. When I attempt to run the set-up.exe file, I receive an error message that indicates that "Installer failed to initialize. This could be due to a missing file." Then, I cannot load the Adobe Support Advisor to assist with troubleshooting. Any help or guidance would be appreciated!

Our network have 2 subnet and firewall between them,when i want to add a printer(HP Laserjet M400 with ip address 192.168.0.8) from network on opposite subnet in windows 7 the installation failed on 99% but it is successful in XP. Servers are 2008R2 and Client workstations are 7To get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial product. have repeatedly downloaded, opened the zip file, clicked on the 'setup' file, each time (4 so far), error message of: installer failed to initialize. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem.
I download/install the support advisor which detects: no problems. argh!!
What now???So is the .zip file is extracting without error?
Have you tried rebooting yet?
What about turning off virus scan? or other potential conflicting software? -

SQL Server 2008 Express Installation fails.
I am trying to install SQL server 2008 Express edition on my desktop (OS: Win 7 HP - 64 bit). I have been unable to do so on all of my 3 attempts.
The installation gets to the end and then gives a error with an installation failed message.

Please try to uninstall all SQL Server components using Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs.
If you have already uninstalled SQL Server before trying to reinstall, please perform the following steps to manually uninstall SQL Server:
1. Uninstall all SQL Server components you can using Control Panel -> Programs and Features
2. Backup the registry.
3. Delete the following keys in regedit:
--HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server
--HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSSQLServer
4. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall and delete all the sub-keys referencing SQL Server.
5. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services and delete all the keys referencing SQL Server.
6. Rename all the SQL Server folders in the computer like
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server and subfolders.
Once you have uninstalled, please try to reinstall again.

Windows 7 64bits Installing Internet Explorer 11 ERROR Neutral package installation failed
Hi,
The laptop is running Windows 7 64bits with Internet Explorer 10 and the Windows automatic updates is turned on. The problem happens when the Windows keeps installing the Internet Explorer 11 every time between shutdown process. So I decided to download
IE11 offline installation and try to install from it but the problem doesn't solve, the installation still does not complete. I have tried to delete all files in the Windows temp folder and IE temp folder already but the problem still exist.

I have tried to create a symbolic link as suggested on a forum but the problem still cannot be solved. The error message from IE11_main.log file is exactly the same as before.
