Installed Enterprise 2010 Trial- Many features seem missing

So I'm getting my feet wet with Sharepoint 2010 Enterprise Trial. I have it up and running on Windows 2008 R2 with a separate SQL Server and Web/App server. I have created my first site (yaaay!) from central admin but I'm noticing many features seem missing
(Yes, I entered the correct Enterprise license key). For instance, I go to add a new Service application and none appear (see screenshot). In addition, when I add a new site I see very few templates as opposed to the 20 or so that are supposed to appear (see
screenshot). Any idea what's missing?

I have had nothing but problems with java so far and I am about ready to consider it a mediocre and unpredictable programming language that I can do without. Please help as i am quickly losing patience, especially on 56k when i have to download non-functional 80mb files. Anyways, this problem is happening on winxp home ed. thanks

. I did it on HSD cable
this time and again the file sizes match. but, when i
go to a command prompt, and type java or javac, they
are unrecognized commands. You need to set up your PATH environment variable to include the path of the java.exe and javac.exe files. For the current command prompt, typing in:
    set PATH=%PATH%;C:\j2skd1.4.2\bin
Would do the trick. Change the directory, if you've installation is different. Then java and javac should be recognised.
and when i try to compile
an applet in netbeans that i wrote before and works
fine with an online compiler, it gives the error:
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: main
Exception in thread "main" Netbeans is treating your applet as an application. You should tell it it is an applet. I'm not sure how to do it, sorry. Best thing would be to use NetBeans to compile, but load the applet in an external browser.

  • Installing Office 2010 64-bit Trial

    Hello,
I need to install a trial version of Office Profession Plus 2010 64-bit onto a server.  I mistakenly installed the 32-bit version of the trial, and now after uninstalling it (on the same day), the 64-bit version of the trial will not install.
I am getting an error saying "Error 25004: The product key you entered cannot be used on this machine".
If the 64-bit trial does install, and it integrates well with other 64-bit software in my environment, my company will purchase licenses.  Before purchasing those licenses though, I need to see it working in my development environment.  How
can I get the 64-bit version of the trial installed?
    Regards,

    Hi Brian,
If you are attempting to install Office 2010 Trial on a machine which has Microsoft Office 2010 Trial installed once, you will have this error.
This functionality is by design, only one Trial installation is permitted. You might want to try with another machine.

  • Is there a way to download PAGES 4 for MAC OS? Pages 5 is missing too many features I need!

Is there any way to get the prior version of Pages (4x) for MAC? So many critical features are missing now I cannot use Pages any longer unless I can get the old version?
    Mike

With Mavericks the answer is maybe.  It really depends on whether they ship a disc with Pages 4.0 or Pages 4.3.  It is hard to figure out which one is the one that you will actually receive.  If you have a virtual machine and purchased these from the Mac App store then if you run Mountain Lion you should be able to download them again on that system.  This is the method I used to re-install.
I'm lucky in that I have the retail version of iWork 09.  I re-installed it using the following method.
    1.  Reinstall from DVD.  This installed a version that is too out of date to run on Mavericks so I had to do step 2.
    2.  Ran a virtual machine with Mountain Lion, installed iWork 09, ran software update and copied the latest versions over to my main machine.  This works and now I have iWork 09 back on my machine.  Hopefully Apple can fix this latest iWork and bring it back to feature parity with iWork 09.

  • Install sharepoint 2010 on windows 8.1 enterprise

I would like to install sharepoint server 2010 on windows 8.1 enterprise without Hyper-V as the organization policy does not allow us to user Hyper-V. At the end of the installation while sharepoint configuration wizard is running, it thre a "Configuration
Failed" exception. Failed to create configuration database as shown below. Kindly help.

The instructions for installing SharePoint 2010 on Windows 8 are pretty much the same as they were on Windows 7 x64.  You do still need to make sure you create the custom config file to do the install.  You can find a full set of  instructions
to install on Windows 7 on my blog here:
    http://www.dontpapanic.com/blog/?p=96
The one additional thing you need to do is make sure that when you install IIS you are using ASP.net 2.0 instead of ASP.Net 4.0.  Windows 8 will default to 4.0.  You can read more about that here:
    http://johnlivingstontech.blogspot.com/2011/09/installing-sharepoint-2010-on-windows-8.html
I should however point out that although you can install SharePoint 2010 on Windows 8 its not really a supported platform and even on Windows 7 its only supported as a Dev environment.  Its never been supported for any kind of production usage.

  • Running Microsoft Script Editor after installing Office 2010

    As per this link:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/use-office-excel-2010-with-earlier-versions-of-excel-HA010342994.aspx
Microsoft Script Editor is installed along with Office 2010, even though it cannot be accessed from the UI. However, I cannot find it. I've looked in the installation folder, and in Program Files\Common Files for MSE7.EXE, and could not find it.
Previously, when I encountered a Javascript error, I would get a window prompting me to choose a debugger. Now I get a window saying no debuggers are found.
I would use IE8's built-in developer tools, but that doesn't help when debugging an HTA or under WSH.
I am using Office 2010 Professional Plus on Windows XP SP3.

Microsoft Script Editor (MSE) seems has been removed from Office 2007 and Office 2010.
That means MSE will not install when you have installed office 2010.
Microsoft Script Editor (MSE) has been removed from Office 2010 from what I can tell; however, it is still installed in Office 2007. There isn't a default botton configurationm to bring it up like in Office 2003. If you want to access it make sure it is installed
with the installation of Office 2007 and make a shortcut going to "%programfiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE12\MSE7.EXE". If anyone finds where it is in office 2010 please let me know or has a definitive "no it is not a feature."
    Thanks.

  • Installed Sharepoint 2010 Server SP2 Update; PSConfig succeeds but CA still shows "Upgrade Available"

I have installed SharePoint 2010 Server SP2.  Central Administration shows the configuration database is at 14.0.7015.1000.  I had to run PSConfig several times before it completed successfully due to missing features, setup files, etc.  But
I got those cleaned up and finally got PSConfig to complete.
However, when I go to Farm Information it still shows "Upgrade Available" for the single WFE server we have.
When I run stsadm.exe -o localupgradestatus it shows me the following:
    [2] content database(s) encountered.
[0] content database(s) still need upgrade or cannot be upgraded.
[23] site collection(s) are contained in the content databases.
[0] site collection(s) still need upgrade.
[53] other objects encountered, [12] of them still need upgrade or cannot be upgraded.
The 12 objects that cannot be upgraded are ancillary databases like:
    StateService_[GUID]
    Secure_Store_Service_DB_[GUID]
    PerformancePoint Service Application_[GUID]
They all show "Cannot Upgrade" for the status.
Am I correct in thinking these are what's keeping the status at Upgrade Available?  And if so how can I resolve?
If not, what else can be done to change that Upgrade Available status?
My goal is to get SP2 and the latest CU applied before trying to reinstall the User Profile Service.
    Thank you.

  • Cannot install Exchange 2010 on Win Server 2k8R2

I am working in a Hyper-V lab trying to install Exchange 2010 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 server. When the installer gets to the Readiness Checks it keeps failing on the Client Access Role prerequisites, and Mailbox Role prerequisites with the following 2 errors:
Unable to read data from the Metabase. Ensure that Microsoft Internet Information Services is installed.
Unable to access the 'Default Web Site' on this computer.
I have checked in Server Manager and IIS is definitely installed.
I opened the IIS Manager, and from there I *can* browse to the Default Web site.
For the 1st message, there is a link to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997645.aspx, but that site doesn't contain any useful information for Exchange 2010.
For the 2nd message, there is a link to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997698.aspx, but I tried that and still get the same error.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

It claims it is downloading again?! Am I missing something here? Why is this process so complicated? I need to get this resolved asap and start working.

I originally had Adobe Photoshop Extended, then upgraded to the Production Suite. I ran the Adobe Cleaner, and that uninstalled most Adobe products, including my existing Adobe install, and then I re-installed everything with the same error code. Since CS4 came with CS5, I've installed AE CS4, but would really like to upgrade because I'm new to Creative Suite, and not sure how CS4 integrates with CS5...CS4 After Effects installed perfectly. I do have a 64 bit system, and installing to an OCZ Vertex 2....every other suite installs perfectly, except AE. And I think that is the coolest program in the Suite. I thank you all so much for taking the time to help, I really want to get AECS5 running...I did try to install after doing the recommended items Adobe suggests for Exit Codes 6 and 7, including turning off many startups...
    I'm baffled....

  • My Photoshop Elements 10 Trial Doesn't Seem to Work!

I just downloaded and installed the APE10 trial. When I ran it to check it out, I indicated Trial and skipped the Adobe login. I tried to open a sample jpg file and nothing happened! No error message - nothing.
So I tried a few variations, like logging into Adobe, opening a png instead of a jpg, etc. I even tried creating a new image. I got the dialog with title & size, etc. But when I hit OK I got nothing. I've used PE 7 before with no problems, but I seem to be missing something here. HELP!

Did you receive any error messages while installing the software?  Which operating system are you using btw?

  • Installing office 2010 - should I set up share point for users

I have just upgraded from office 2003 to office 2010.  We are limited to 2010 because of some legacy programs.
Anyway this is my first install of office 2010 that eventually I need to install on 40 or 50 computers.  After it is installed there appears a menu item to set up sharepoint. It says "Welcome to Sharepoint Workspace" "Create a new
account" when I click Next it asks me to "Create an account using your email address" and so on.
We do not have a sharepoint server, I also know almost nothing about sharepoint. We use Exchange 2003.
    Here are my questions,
Can I create a sharepoint account without having sharepoint server?
Is there any advantage if I can install it?
If having SHAREPOINT without a Sharepoint Server is useless then should I in future installs remove some portion of the install when I install office 2010?
I know this is a bit of a generic question but I really don't know what sure point does this by watching videos, it seems like it does a lot of the things that's other programs already do like address books ensuring of calendars.  That's really what exchange
    does.
    Thanks.

Alex has hit all the right notes in his response and the one that I'd agree with would be the planning.  It's not uncommon to hear stories of firms putting SharePoint in, before they get around to thinking what to do with it.  It is a collaborative
product that can provide answers to defined problems.
On the SharePoint workspace issue, my personal thought would be give it a miss.  It doesn't have a 2013 version and it'll be pointless giving this to your user base, only to have to remove it depending on what your settled SP plans might be.
