"Install completed successfully", but many files are missing. (J2SE)
I downloaded the 80MB J2SE + netbeans package today, and when I try to install it, everything goes fine. Installer says it was successful, but MANY files are missing (including tha main netbeans file which the icon on my desktop links to). Here's my install log:

I have had nothing but problems with java so far and I am about ready to consider it a mediocre and unpredictable programming language that I can do without. Please help as i am quickly losing patience, especially on 56k when i have to download non-functional 80mb files. Anyways, this problem is happening on winxp home ed. thanks

this time and again the file sizes match. but, when i
go to a command prompt, and type java or javac, they
are unrecognized commands.You need to set up your PATH environment variable to include the path of the java.exe and javac.exe files. For the current command prompt, typing in:
set PATH=%PATH%;C:\j2skd1.4.2\bin
Would do the trick. Change the directory, if you've installation is different. Then java and javac should be recognised.
and when i try to compile
an applet in netbeans that i wrote before and works
fine with an online compiler, it gives the error:
java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: main
Exception in thread "main" Netbeans is treating your applet as an application. You should tell it it is an applet. I'm not sure how to do it, sorry. Best thing would be to use NetBeans to compile, but load the applet in an external browser.

I changed drives and consolidated my library, but many files are missing
I recently changed my the hard drive on which my iTunes media were stored. I followed instructions on this page:

However, after consolidation I discovered that quite a lot of folders and files are missing from the new created file. The missing songs are still in my library, and when I try to play them, I get the exclamation mark and have to direct iTunes to the original files on the old hard drive.
I've restarted everything and tried to consolidate again and again, but the files remain missing.
What should I do?
All advice gratefully received.I am not doing it in ITunes, but i did down load the song from ITunes. I loaded the song on to my Nano, but in my menu selections it doesn't show the song or the artist in any search format. However, when i plug in my nano to my PC I see the Nano library on my PC drive listings and that song and artist are there. I can click on the song and it will play in Windows media on my work PC. I did notice that the format for most all the songs in my library on my Nano are MPEG - 4 audio Files.

ITunes could not be installed because some of the files are missing, please
I just bought an Iphone and when I went to install the latest version of itunes i get the message "iTunes could not be installed because some of the files are missing, please reistall iTunes" during the installation. I have tried every recommended solution I could find on the apple website. Does anyone know of a solution to this problem??

Tried loading the latest version of itunes but the download would not complete. Now when I connect my phone to a usb i get an error stating required files are missing, reinstall itunes. I tried that but the reinstall keeps timing out?

Tried to delete an FM book, but won't delete; however files are missing
I'm using RH7 in TCS1 in Windows Explorer.
I imported FM book files by reference into my project. I had forgotten to check abook file prior to import and didn't notice that the book file did not have the necessary graphics. So I fixed the file, then tried to update the book file in RH7. The graphics did not import into RH, so I thought I would start over from scratch and delete the book file in RH. It will not delete and causes RH to crash. The delete option is available, but it doesn't delete them.
So I went into Windows Explorer and deleted the files from there. Then I get a message that says files are missing, and that I need to delete them from Project Manager which is what I was trying to do in the first place.
Can someone please help me delete these files?Just an update to this posting. I did not have the latest RoboHelp patches installed. For some reason, RH wouldn't let me install
them. So I had to have a complete uninstall of RH, then reinstall it. Once I did
that I installed all of the patches and my book files were deleted.

Ok some things first I need to know...Did you use Microsoft cleanup utility to clean up all those uninstalls you have done?
I hate Norton and anyone who reads my posts will know that. I have seen way too many infected PC's by Norton users. Did you try the EWIDO and AdAware scan? I see you said you read lots of posts. That is helping folks remove the malware in order to get iTunes and quicktime back to health. -
I have Windows XP & until recently i-Tunes was working fine.Now when I try to open I get this message "i-Tunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall i-Tunes. So I did. Midway thru ,installation stops & same message is repeated. So I uninstalled i-Tunes, Downloaded new one,went thru installation process for the same result & same message. I did try to uninstall and reinstall. It messed up my computer. I had to "RESTORE" from the prior days backup. This was not helpful at all. I'm used to losing all my stuff when I connect to iTunes, that's a whole other issue, but now I'm completely banned from any updates to my phone at all. Geeze.......

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -

No you will not lose your content reinstalling iTunes.
Do this:
1: Download and run the Registry Cleaner of the free Ccleaner.

2: Next follow this Apple document to un-install iTunes

3: Just for good measure, run Ccleaner again
4: Reinstall iTunes.

I imported files from an external hard drive to Itunes on a new computer. they imported & play fine, but the ratings & playlists are gone & i am unable to update any info. I found a file name playlist on old drive & imported now most files are missing! Help!
Can you locate the iTunes Library.itl file on the old drive? Ideally you would have simply copied over the entire iTunes folder structure from <User's Music> on the old computer into <User's Music> on the new one to transfer the library will all playlists, ratings, play counts etc. intact.

I figured it out. A week ago I had downloaded a screensaver from a website I trusted and that's when my problems started. I uninstalled it but that didn't help. So, I reinstalled it then used an uninstall softtware app that cleanns more than the control panel does. Then I used a computer cleaner to be sure everything was wiped clean. And it worked. I downloded iTunes for the 7th time in 2 days and finally it worked! And I lost nothing from my account.

So I updated to OS X Maverick(s) and backuped my harddrive and got a new one installed, everything seems okay but some things are missing in my settings like the software update icon. Does anyone know how I can get it back?
Okay so I asked someone from apple and they said that the software update icon is gone but its functions have been merged with the app store icon on the settings menu. Crisis averted haha!

I have Macromedia Fireworks 3.0 and the install process doesn´t run! After the installation the message is: fireworks cannot run. the resource files are missing or damaged. I use Windows 8.1. Antworten auf Deutsch wären super!
As far as I know there is no download resource for older Macromedia programs and it is highly unlikely that one as old as version 3 of Fireworks will be able to work on a Windows 8.1 system. I was unable to get a Studio 8 version installation on a Vista system, and likely even an XP system (cannot remember that far back).
