  • Lenovo N500-4233-5FG BSOD after Installing Drivers

    Hello ,
I've installed the Windows XP , then Installed the Fast Ethernet driver and systemupdate 316 ,
Downloaded all the drivers , then got BlueScreen , the system doesn't boot up I get bluescreen everytime I try to turn It on , even on SafeMode , I have to install a fresh WinXP now ,
the question is , when I finished Installing WinXP , what do I do to not get BlueScreen ?

I reviewed the link provided for your Lenovo 3000 N500 [Model Name: 42335FG, Part Number: NS75Fxx]

At the bottom of the configuration table, under "SOFTWARE", it says "Supported operating systems" PC DOS 2000 (limited), Windows Vista Business, Windows Vista Home Basic, Windows Vista Home Premium.
It doesn't appear that the 3000 N500 [Model Name: 42335FG, Part Number: NS75Fxx] is intended to support XP.
    What am I missing here?

  • Windows 7 - Lenovo N500 Power manager

    Hello.
There is avaliable new "System update 4.0" for Windows 7 but it has no support for N500, although "List of Windows 7 upgrade capable systems" has it.
Will there be avaliable Windows 7 drivers, especially power manager, because sleep/hibernate function is the only ones that doesn't behave normally.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    i'm running Windows 7 64 Bit successfully on my Lenovo N500 4233-77G.
    Here some recommendations:
    FIRST:
Install the "Intel Chipset Driver for Windows Vista and XP" from the Lenovo Website. It is meant for XP (32 Bit) and Vista (32 Bit and 64 Bit) and runs flawlessly under Win 7 64 Bit. This resulted in a large temperature decrease of the overall components (CPU, HD, graphics) and is definitely HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
    SECOND:
I installed from the Intel website the "Intel Matrix-Storage-Manager" driver for Win 7 64 Bit. Not sure if that helped, but Windows told me afterwards, that it has identified the HD and some SATA Controller. So shouldn't hurt.
You can find it on the intel website by navigating:
    chipsets >> notebook chipsets >> intel 4 series express chipset >> driver >> Win 7 64 Bit
    THIRD:
Install the Nvidia drivers from the Nvidia website (Win 7 64 Bit again)
    FOURTH:
As the system is parking the HD to often (click noise) you should do something against it. Install QuietHDD (http://sites.google.com/site/quiethdd/). The APM setting of 255 is already default and makes the click noise go away. Run that app all the time in the systray. Also this is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
With this setting Hibernate (a successful suspend to disk) works also with Win 7 (i think this is due to the intel chipset driver and also the nvidia driver).
Suspending doesn't work normally on this system, also with the drivers listed above. I think it's related to the BIOS, version 1.10 is out and might be tried. It is only for systems without HDMI, and disables HDMI on laptops which have this output. That's the reason why i haven't tried it on my HDMI enabled laptop.
    Good luck,
    muggy

  • Drivers for Lenovo 3000 N500 4233-5FG notebook

    Hi everybody!
yesterday I became my brandnew N500 4233-5FG notebook. Here are the specifications:
    http://www5.pc.ibm.com/europe/products.nsf/$wwwPartNumLookup/_NS75Fxx?open&OpenDocument&epi=web_express
A friend of mine and I tried to install Win XP, but most of the drivers from the lenovo support HP don´t work. We´ve  read  lots of threads in this forum and all over the internet, but nothing helped!
Here is what we did till here:
    1.switch from sata to ide
2.forcing the notebook to boot with the optical drive, because otherwise it showed no reaction on the Win Xp CD
    3.installing Win XP
    4.installing the drivers from  http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=/product.do?template=%2Fproductpage%2...
5.Win XP "runs" but almost all the drivers are announcing conflicts and as consequence nothing works (sound, LAN, and so on)
6.then we installed the net framework and tried the drivers described by the user voyager in this thread:
    http://forums.lenovo.com/lnv/board/message?board.id=N_Series_Lenovo_3000&thread.id=8077&view=by_date...
    7.nothing worked
8.then we installed Service Pack 3 for Win XP an tried again the drivers from the lenovo HP.
9.there was no improvement, which means there are always the same problems as at the beginning...
    10. as it was 4 o clock in the morning and we had a very long day, we decided to go to sleep... ;.))
Can anybody help me and/or has  anybody experience with exactly the same notebook than i have?? (n500 4233-5FG)
It would be very helpfull to have some suggestions on how to do it right or perhaps anybody knows something about were to find the right drivers?!?
Thank in advance and lots of greetings,
    Daniel

  • Right drivers need please, n500 4233-44G

    Hello everyone,
I have downgraded my n500 4233-44G from VISTA to XP.
I've installed the OS no problem and I started installing drivers.
First of all there is some confusion on the support area of the website. under the support and download section for there are many different drivers for the same thing (i.e. wireless) and it happened that none of them worked with my laptop.
Can anyone tell me which ones are the right drivers to download?
To get the wirless driver I had to go on intel's website (i am still not quite sure how i managed to get the right one).
I was able to get hold of the right bluetooth as well driver but I am still missing ETHERNET and AUDIO ones.
Any hint would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    David

    Hello:
The problem you have encountered has been reported before.  It is not actually a flaw with the computer or the drivers from Lenovo, it arises because the list of beta drivers that Lenovo provides for Windows 7 is not yet fully complete.
Fortunately, you can use existing Windows Vista drivers (appropriate to your machine) to fill in the gaps.
If you did an upgrade install of W7, right click on an item with a missing driver, choose "Update Driver", tell the computer you will browse for the driver yourself, then point the computer to the "C:\drivers\" folder.  It will find the missing driver in there and install it.  You will need to do this for each missing item.
If you did a clean install, go to the Lenovo Device Driver File Matrix (DDFM) for your machine, and download all the appropriate VISTA drivers for your machine except for the ones that you already have Windows 7 beta drivers for.  Then expand these driver packages - the contents will be installed to the "C:\drivers\" folder.  Then, do what I said in the paragraph above.

  • Help: Lenovo N500 will not start, product recovery disc won't run

Hi. I am a bit of a laptop dunce so excuse me. My Lenovo N500 has been shutting itself down and not always restarting and the last time I tried a reinstall through the on board system but after a day and a half it was stuck and not changing so I turned it off. Clearly a mistake.
Now when I try to turn it on I get a black screen
    File:\Boot\NCR
    Status 0xc000000f
Info An error occurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data
It says to insert Windows installation disc and restart but that just circles back to same screen. I have tried the 2 supplied disks. One called "product recovery CD for lenovo N500 Type 4233" (which is the right one I think) and one called "Rescue and recovery disc for use with Microsoft Windows XP" (pretty sure I have Vista and this disc was supplied for people who wanted to get back to XP.
I have tried pressing F8 and F11 to no avail (makes a nasty loud hissing sound).
    Any ideas?

    hi Cj75,
Can you try if the computer have the WinRE Active
Keep on tapping the F8 key once you power on the system. Then select the Repair your computer option from the boot menu that appears.
    WinRE photo (http://media.bestofmicro.com/win,B-8-177956-13.jpg)
If You were able to boot to WinRE
    >In the System Recovery Options dialog box, Try running system restore first to a known good Date where your system state was fine.
    If system restore fails.
    >Try to do this to manually rebuild the BCD
In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Command Prompt.
Type BOOTREC /FIXMBR, and then press ENTER.
Type BOOTREC /FIXBOOT, and then press ENTER.
Type BOOTREC /REBUILDBCD, and then press ENTER.
If this still failed I believe you really have to Reinstall Windows on this

  • Windows 7 - "System update 4.0" for Lenovo N500 ?

    Hello.
There is available new "System update 4.0" for Windows 7 but it has no support for N500, although "List of Windows 7 upgrade capable systems" has it.
When will there be available Windows 7 drivers for Lenovo N500? When will "System update 4.0" have support for N500?

    indenti,
The N500 is part of the valueline of products, and I believe that our present direction is that TVSU 4.0 is supported only on the ThinkPad systems.
The recommended action would  be to manually download and install updated Win 7 drivers from the N500 driver matrix page as they become available.

  • Lenovo N500 and Win7 x64: fails to resume from sleep or hibernate

    Hello!
First of all, sorry for my bad english. I have bought an N500 laptop on the previous week. I'm using Windows 7 x64 on my desktop PC for months without any problem, so i thought i give it a try on my new notebook to. I choosed the x64 edition because my notebook has 4GB of memory plus the 256MB dedicated memory of the GeForce IGP. The installation went fine, it detected all the hardware in the laptop (except the memory card reader, but i found out that the Vista driver works fine with it). My only problem is, that if i try to hibernate the machine, or put the notebook into sleep state, most of the times it doesn't wake up from it, just simply reboots. If i resume from hibernate it provides me the option to delete the restoration data and do a clean boot. It's very annoying because defaultly if i close the lid or just simple leave the machine for a while, it goes to sleep automatically (i turned it off for now of course, but i like to use). It does it even after a fresh install, if i didn't install anything by hand. Windows Update offers me prelease GeForce drivers, but if i install those the problem still remains. As is see there isn't any Windows 7 drivers for this laptop, just Thinkpad series have Beta drivers for this OS. Or just i didn't find them on the site? I will try to install Windows 7 x86 this afternoon to check it's the 64bit OS which makes the problem or not.
Can somebody suggest me something to solve this problem?

I have the same problem here. lenovo N500 Windows 7 7100 64bit. Have Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family, That recently got official driver from intel (I dont think that's the problem anyway).
    Everything work fine with 32bit.
Look around everywhere, no  Success yet

    Thanks.

One last comment, I've tried using both HDMI (which I prefer)... but get's me no sound.  I've also tried to use the VGA but I do believe I would need to use a sound cable as well...  Is the HDMI output on the Lenovo N500 just for video at this point?

  • KT6V install XP Sp2 Sata NO FLOPPY? nlite help?

I've been going nuts trying to install XP SP2 onto a SATA drive. Basically the XP2 install CD loads and says there are no hard drives found.
The floppy controller on my KT6V seems to be dead (never used it before).
So I've been trying to create a customized XP install using nlite with no luck.
I've created three CDs now but none of them see the hard drive.
The SATA hard drive was formatted and is visible in my Win2000 system. I power down, unplug the Win2K drive, and then boot from the CD to try to install XP on the new drive.
Can anyone walk me through what it takes to create an nlite customized install that includes the SATA drivers so I can install without a floppy? (I would love to meet the programmer that decided drivers could only be loaded from a floppy...)
    Thanks.

  • DISK ERROR and also HAL.DLL error - I can't install XP SP2

    Hi guys,
I'm at my wits end and am fed up by errors I've been getting trying to install XP SP2. I bought my Mac because of bootcamp interoperability as I need to use Windows applications for my work, so I get the best of both worlds. Parallels is out of the question as I don't get the speed I need.
I have a late-2007 revision 24" iMac (3gb/24"/2.4 C2D) and had Bootcamp running perfectly before upgrading to Leopard (with 10.4.9/10) - almost too perfect: it just worked! I have since upgraded to Leopard and today went to reinstall Windows as I did a clean install and wiped everything to start from scratch.
I have spent 4 hours reading forum after forum trying permutation after permutation of options and can't get it to work. I get
    DISK ERROR
    PRESS ANY KEY TO RESTART
When installing on any volume size using Fat32, and if I format NTFS, I get an error about a missing HAL.DLL.
I have verified that under both Fat32 files are copied as expected. Confirmed drive format as Fat32.
I also have the latest firmware update that was delivered a week or so ago via software update. I don't know if this could be the cause?
This is frustrating me beyond belief. If anyone can help, it'd be very very much appreciated.

I have also been having serious issues, and this worked for me also. Before (In Leopard with BootCamp 2.0) I could partition ok, and everything else, but the Windows installer just wouldn't give me the option of reformatting the drive (formatted to FAT32 by BootCamp v. 2) to NTFS. To re-iterate, if you're having these DISK ERROR problems, do the following:
    Backup all files
Use Leopard/Tiger install disk to wipe the entire hard drive (all volumes mac and pc) with Disk Utility (this may not be necessary, but it could clear up the problem)
    Install Tiger (10.4)
Run Bootcamp (in Tiger), partition, install Windows, and install drivers
Install Leopard (you may choose "erase" within the Installer since this will just wipe the Mac partition)
Now you're good to go. For running Bootcamp on Tiger, you will need to download BootCamp beta 1.4, there is at least one mirror (and a 1.3 one too) that you can easily find with google. Also, if you're having trouble installing with the beta after December 2007, try setting back the clock and disconnecting from the Internet.
Although it is very strange that Bootcamp 2.0 (or Leopard) have broken the ability to install.
