Int 128bit support

Is BDB XML gonna support 128 bit int values?

I'm still not entirely sure what you mean, but I'll answer anyway :-)
BDB XML complies with the relevant W3C Recommendations, so I think your question may be more about the specifications than BDB XML.
BDB XML will validate documents upon insertion if asked to do so. Validation is against either a DTD or an XML Schema. In a schema, for example, you can specify that a given attribute is (must be) an integer with a specific number of digits (bits aren't a facet of the integer type afaik). So, validation will occur. You can also specify an index on that attribute (of type decimal, which is the base type for integer).
But, BDB XML does not use a document's type information (PSVI) during queries, so a query must explicitly cast if values are to be treated as other than the default/implicit types.
Does this answer your question?

  • DOM support on a c6k platform

    Hi,
I was wondering that I'm not able to get transceiver details on a c6500 (with sup720-bxl) platform running version 15.1(1)SY1.
    Xenpaks will do fine:
    c6504#sh int Te3/3 transceiver
ITU Channel not available (Wavelength not available),Transceiver is internally calibrated.Alarms applicable when thresholds or values are not N/A.If device is externally calibrated, only calibrated values are printed.++ : high alarm, +  : high warning, -  : low warning, -- : low alarm.NA or N/A: not applicable, Tx: transmit, Rx: receive.mA: milliamperes, dBm: decibels (milliwatts).                                         Optical   Optical            Temperature  Voltage  Current   Tx Power  Rx PowerPort        (Celsius)    (Volts)  (mA)      (dBm)     (dBm)----------  -----------  -------  --------  --------  --------Te3/3         30.1        N/A      30.4 --   -0.9      -2.0
    While a SFP-GE-L fails:
    c6504#sh int Gi4/23 transceiver
    Diagnostic Monitoring is not implemented.
The SFP has definitivly DOM/DDM support enabled. If I plugg the optic in a C2960G switch, I can query the transceiver details-

Most linecards on the 6500 do not support DOM even though the transceivers are capable.

  • Airport card works in 10.1, HW test passes, but not detected at all in 10.4

Ok, Hi. I'll first admit this is my first post so go easy on me!
I just bought a used iBook G3 and it was working fine for a while until about a month ago when all kinds of weird things stared happening. Some of which those problems I solved from reading previous topics from these forums - but anyways, I'll skip all my other problems and get right to my current one.
First off here is the complete specs:
12.1" iBook G3 "dual USB series"
    500MHz PPC processor
    128+256MB ram = 384MB RAM
15GB hard drive (NOW 160GB HARD DRIVE!)
No Airport Card (NOW ONE HAS BEEN ADDED!)
Multiple OS's - OS9 and 10.1 were included (have original disks)
I also have a set of 10.4 Tiger CD-ROM disks
Anyways, here is basically what is happening. I bought an Airport card off eBay for my iBook. I installed it about a week ago. I booted into 10.4 Tiger and it did not detect the card. Tried to do the manual setup with the wizard and it said there was no card attached. I went into the system profiler and is said No info available under the airport section. I then booted to my "apple hardware test disk" and ran the full/extended test. It passed everything (including the Airport card) so I know that is not the problem. I then booted into OS X 10.1 and lone behold the card is detected and is working without any fooling around with! Instant wireless internet! So I know that the card is working, but I want to use it in Tiger as 10.1 is almost worthless. So I boot into Tiger again knowing that the card is working, and Tiger still does not recognize it! I even booted into OS 9 and it detected the card (although it was having some connection problems, but at least I know that it IS detecting it.)
Here is what I tried (so you can cross these suggestions off your list! lol)
I've deleted the Airport "ktext" files, etc. (can't remember the actual names of the files, but I've cleared all of those caches and still no luck.)
    I've zapped PRAM
    I rest NVRAM
    I rest the PMU.
I did a Arcive and install of 10.4
...All of which did not help. Again, the card worked in 10.1, but 10.4 is completely blind and can't find it!
Now we are caught up to today. I was having many other odd problems and it all lead to my hard drive probably being bad. So toady I finally bit the bullet and bought a new hard drive from Best Buy. It took me forever to install it, but I did it, and it works! Now I have 160GB (make that only 128GB detected) of space. I partitioned it 4 ways as well:
    "Tiger" - 80GB
    "Other OS" - 30GB
    "Extra Space 1" - 10GB
    "Extra Space 2" - 8GB
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx- 128GB Total
So now that I have a new hard drive (that I was told would fix all of my problems because my old one was "bad" I thought I would have it working today, but no. So I put in the brand new drive, partitioned it, booted off my Tiger disk, installed it on the 80GB partition. The install went fine. So I now have 10.4 on the new drive. Seems to be a lot faster then my old drive! I did the combo updater (which I downloaded on my iMac and transfered to a flash drive and loaded on to my iBook) Ran the updater, and now it is running 10.4.11! But then I realized, the Airport card is STILL not detected in Tiger!!! - I thought the new hard drive would solve all my problems as I was staring from scratch, but no, there is still a problem!
I ran the Apple hardware test disk again, full test, and it said my Airport card is still fine. I didn't reinstall 10.1 yet (nor did I want to, I was hoping Tiger would work for what I wanted) but it seems now that I might have to go back and install 10.1 again. I don't know what it will prove - other then it will work again, but I don't want to use 10.1 so I'm not going to bother doing all that again.
Anyways, after looking into this further, I brought up the system boot log (of tiger) and found these lines interesting, and hopefully useful to you guys:
localhost kernel[0]: AirPortFirmware: start Sta f/w download
localhost kernel[0]: AirPortDriver: F/W download failed
localhost kernel[0]: AirPortFirmware: start Sta f/w download
    localhost DirectoryService[64]: Lunched version 1.8 (v346)
localhost kernel[0]: AirPortDriver: F/W download failed
it then lists the eithernet address and then ramblers on about other nonsense. If anyone needs the other "stuff" i'll try and save the whole log file and attach it here if anyone needs it.
So could anyone please help? It seems as if i've done everything, and still can not get an answer on why it is doing this, and how to fix it!
    Please Help!
Thanks you so much, and sorry for the long yet detailed message!!!
    -Scott

Hey, just wanted to post an update to let everyone know what I ended up doing.
Bottom line with the airport card I had is that is was "bad" - well only kind of. I got an email from a guy from a local PC repair shop. He told me he had just gotten one of those cards in and had it for sale for only $25. So I was chatting with this guy and he said it would be alright if I brought my iBook right in his shop, swap the cards and try it before I buy it. So I did so. Very nice guy and we swapped out the cards no problem. Right away it recognized his card and worked! I then downloaded the Airport update and ran it. (remember before, when I tried to update my card, after it restarted it was no longer recognized.) So we did the update with HIS card in and after it restarted, it STILL worked! It also added WPA support as well! We then booted into to Tiger (remember the old card wasn't recognized at all in tiger) and it ALSO worked in Tiger! I also had WPA support right away! So I bought the card and was all happy that it was all working again! I then figured out what the problem was with the old one.
My original card was one of the "original" originals. Then, Apple "changed" the original cards and replaced ones with "128bit" support. (this is all before the extreme cards) I then found out that the newer original cards (the one the guy just sold me) are worth MORE because these are the cards that are compatible with the newer update (128bit WEP, and WPA) The cards looked exactly the same, but the newer card has "128 Bit" printed on the bottom of the card.
SO, it ended up, I was "asking too much" out of the card I had - as the card I had did not support what I was trying for it to do. Where as the newer card I bought IS compatible with the update, and worked like a piece of cake. So all in all, the first card I had isn't "dead" it just wasn't working with what I wanted it to. So I'm going to end up selling it. Hopefully craigslist, but I will get more for it on eBay. so that is what I'm going to do. I'll just make sure to tell people this "story" so they don't try and do the same thing I did. But for someone with an even older laptop, an older OS, or an older router, this card will work just fine for them.
So thats basically it! Looks like I got everything working!

  • Mini Mac Remote Desktop and Elgato Video Capture Stick

I have 10 Mini Macs simultaneously capturing video via a Elgato Vapture Stick.
Instead of having 10 monitors, keyboards, and mice, I wish to control the Mini Macs by remote desktop. The problem is the Mini Macs won't refresh the video overlay if there is no monitor directly attached to them. I can establish a remote desktop but I can't see the video being captured in the Elgato capture window. As soon as I attach a monitor to the Mini Mac with the Elgato Capture Stick, then then the video is displayed correctly on the remote desktop. The goal is just to have one monitor on the Mini Mac with the remote desktop.

Actually, a slightly more recent version - 3.4.3 (6308) - is downloadable here
    http://www.elgato.com/elgato/int/mainmenu/support/Update-Start/Update-EyeTV-3
... directly from the Elgato support website.

  • Logical drive 1 status = Ready for recovery ml350 g5

    Hi,
I have a problem with a HP Proliant ML350 G5, 2 weeks ago the server did shutdown unexpectedly i looked in the ACU and saw that the controller had a battery problem. I replaced the battery but the server keeps once or twice a day shutting down. I made a report from the ACU but i don't know what this all means.
Here is a part of the report, i hope someone can lead me to the right solution,
    Thanks in advance.

  • How do I work around a JDBC driver "unsupported function"?

We have a JDBC driver to a Unidata [multivalue, a truely interesting concept] database. It does not support setMaxRows(). The 10.1.3dp3 version throws an exception:
Internal Exception: java.sql.SQLException: setMaxRows(int) not supported by eTools JDBC.Error Code: 0
    Query:DataReadQuery()
         at oracle.toplink.exceptions.DatabaseException.sqlException(DatabaseException.java:280)
         at oracle.toplink.internal.databaseaccess.DatabaseAccessor.basicExecuteCall(DatabaseAccessor.java:567)
         at oracle.toplink.internal.databaseaccess.DatabaseAccessor.executeCall(DatabaseAccessor.java:442)
         at oracle.toplink.threetier.ServerSession.executeCall(ServerSession.java:453)
    and our application fails.
The driver maker suggests the JDBC spec says the function must be present but it may throw an unsupported exception.
And toplink does not appear to handle the unsupported exception gracefully.
So we appear to be stuck between the rock and the hard place.
    Any help would be appreciated.

We can add setFetchSize to the list of work arounds required.
Internal Exception: java.sql.SQLException: setFetchSize(int) not yet implemented by eTools JDBC.Error Code: 0
    Query:ReadObjectQuery
         at oracle.toplink.exceptions.DatabaseException.sqlException(DatabaseException.java:280)
         at oracle.toplink.internal.databaseaccess.DatabaseAccessor.basicExecuteCall(DatabaseAccessor.java:567)
         at oracle.toplink.internal.databaseaccess.DatabaseAccessor.executeCall(DatabaseAccessor.java:442)
         at oracle.toplink.threetier.ServerSession.executeCall(ServerSession.java:453)
         at oracle.toplink.internal.queryframework.DatasourceCallQueryMechanism.executeCall(DatasourceCallQueryMechanism.java:117)
So the question becomes, in general, how does one indicate to toplink that the driver has unsupported functions and it should (a) ignore them or (b) deal with it.

  • Mac OS 9 Airport connect to Extreme extended Network (cannont connect)

I have various Macintosh computers that I run with various versions of Mac OS 10. Recently I decided to set up an iBook 900mhz with an original Airport card (802.11b) so that I can troubleshoot OS 9 issues for a client. Everything installed fine, but when I try to connect to my Airport Extreme "N" base station, which I have extended via a Airport Express, I cannot join. It asks me for the password and once entered it says there is an error. I have WPA/WPA2 password set up to prevent my apartment neighbors from "borrowing" my internet connection which is the recommended method by apple with extending the airport range using an Express or Extreme base station. Is there a way to get this OS 9 laptop to connect while natively booted into OS 9 or am I going to have to find an older Airport base station and set it up in addition to the "N" version I am already running.
    Thanks for any help provided.

    OSXMan,
As I remember, OS9 only supports the WEP encryption method.
Further, it only supported 64-bit WEP up to the penultimate OS9 version of AirPort software, the final version brought WEP-128bit support.
WEP / WPA doesn't matter unless your neighbours work for the CIA. I know many who preach that WEP is useless and sing the praises of WPA, only for them to choose a simple password.

  • OIM PSFT UM delete user task

    Hello,
We are using PSFT UM v. 9.0.4 and I can't see any delete user task. The conenctor documentation does not mention it int he supported functions. Does this mean that the connector cannot delete the user or this is a must have for any connector?
    Thanks

    Hi,
you have to apply undo task (delete task) on an unconditional task.
Also check Revoke if no longer applied in access policy, so whenever the the group membership rule failed delete task will trigger for revoke.
There should not be difference via API, your revoke task from OIM does same work .
    Thanks,
    Kuldeep

    "Device 1 - plextor cd
    Device 2 - toshiba 32x ..
SCSI BIOS NOT INSTALLED ! "
    now, system is hung.
terminations are correct, moving the 2940UW to different slots and removing all cards except video doesn't help, I suspect a problem in the 6580's bios.  Same scsi rig has no trouble in 3 other systems I tested on.  I've also tried with scsi bios enabled - same results.  Please advise !

    Hmmm.... I dunno.
    Adaptec says this:
The BIOS of the SCSI card is used as the bootstrap loader to link hard drive(s) (INT13 devices) through the Interrupt vector table into the system BIOS.
If there are no hard drives connected to the SCSI card, the message is normal.
The Bios looks for hard drives at ID's 0,1,2 and if none are found the message: " BIOS not installed " is displayed. The primary reason for a BIOS is when you have a bootable SCSI hard drive.
To prevent the message from being displayed, "Disable" the BIOS function in SCSI Select: Press Ctrl+A to enter SCSISelect, and go into Configure/View Host Adapter Settings, then go to Advanced Configuration and where is says Host Adapter BIOS or SCSI Controller Int-13 Support set this option to Disable or Disable Scan Bus depending on the BIOS revision and the SCSI card.
Note: This is not an error message, but a BIOS display message only, stating the BIOS was not loaded into memory and all control of device, will be done through the driver.
So you might try disabling INT-13 support?

  • Generic type doesn't support raw dataypes (int, boolean, etc.)?

It seems that Java 5 generics always autoboxes raw datatypes (int, double, boolean, ...) to the wrapper classes (Integer, Double, Boolean, ...), because when I use e.g. Integer.TYPE (instead of Integer.class), I got ClassCastExceptions. Is this non-support somewhere written down or is there a way to handle raw types without autoboxing them to their wrapper class?

I'm having some difficulty understanding your question, but my first suggestion is to see section 4.4 Type Variables of the Java Language Specification, which states: "If no bound is given for a type variable, Object is assumed."
Also, I think you mean "primivite" instead of "raw" types. Raw types are the "name of a generic type declaration used without any accompanying
actual type parameters" (sectoin 4.8 Raw Types).

  • Driver not support createStatement(int resultSetType, int resultSetConcurrency)

I am using Weblogic 5.1 for development and would like to use resultset for
    updating
when I call 'createStatement(int resultSetType, int resultSetConcurrency)'
Error message prompt out that the driver does not support such method
    I am using weblogic.jdbc20.oci.Driver & weblogic.jdbc.mssqlserver4.Driver
    for testing
    Can some body help me

Right, this method is not implemented by weblogic driver. You should get a
    message like,
"This JDBC 2.0 method is not implemented" from
    weblogic.jdbc20.oci.Connection or weblogic.jdbc20.mssqlserver4.TdsConnection

  • C++2005 does not support default-int (error C4430)

I've created NI Meas Studio 7 project (NI Dll) in C++2003 and converted one to C++2005.
    I can't compile the C++2005 project (error C4430: C++ does not support default-int). There are nidataproxy.h, nidataproxy.inl
contain functions with default-int. What can I do to prevent that error?

    Hi Vitaly,
This error resulted from changes that were made to the Visual C++ 2005 compiler.
This MSDN article explains more about Compiler Warning C4430 and what you need to do to fix it:

I prefer using Firefox, and do all the time. However, this used to happen occasionally, then go away. Now it is happening all the time.
If I try to enter aol email, I receive the message: "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing FF process, or restart your system.
And I can find no way to close it when that happens.
Would really like to have this solved. Do not believe it is a computer or internet problem - just had my computer repaired because of a faulty disc drive. It is a three year old Dell, with Windows XP
