Integrate Citrix Application into portal / Start Citrix from portal
Hi,
I would like to integrate some citrix metaframe applications into the portal.Or start the citrix within the portal.
I know SAP does have this solution in their teaching environment. On SAP courses I worked with this.
How is this made? I tried it with an URL iView but it doesn't work. Do you have any suggestions?
Regards,
Stefan
Stefan,
This was previously released on ep5 and available on iViewStudio.

Integrate .exe files into portal
Hi SDN's,
How to integrate .exe files into portal. There is no threads are available in forum also. could u guys plz help me...
Thanks in advanceHi Renushree
why do you want to store .exe files in the portal. Be aware there might be users with different OS which do not support .exe files.
As Michael suggested you can upload the .exe files (like any other file) in a KM repository and make them available through an ordinary KMNavigation iView.
Maybe you could explain why you want to "integrate" the files into SAP NetWeaver Portal.

How to integrate wad application in portal
Hi all,
How to integrate multiple wad application in portal instead of integrating one application with one iview?
We need to avoid creating iviews for each wad application .
Is there any application like bex analyser for WAD applications?
Regards
RajendraHi Rajendra,
U can create bw report iviews by using bex iview template in content adminstration role.
Apart from that Upload the role from Bw system to portal in system admin-->role upload .
Ask BW person to assign the reports to 1 role ,and u can easily upload the role to portal .
Once u upload the role u can find tthe role in Content admin-->portal content >migrated content>roles--><bw role name>.
open the role ,if u want to change the name then u can ,give entry point yes and assign the role to user.
It should works instead of creating n number of Bex iviews.

where i hav to uplaod this folder (my webDynpro appication) (like a document at bact end or ???)
please give me step by step solution for this..
Thank®ards
GayathriHi,
Assuming you have deployed your webdynpro, you simply need to create webdynpro iView in portal.
Check this simple help documentation on how to create the iView
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/13/b4dc4281de2878e10000000a155106/content.htm
Once you have created the iView, create a role. Set the entry point of the role to yes.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/f6/29cf3d4f902d10e10000000a114084/content.htm
Right click on the iView and assign the iView to the role.

Deploying web dynpro application into portal
hi
I have created a simple example in webdynpro in Netweaver developer studio, and I have deployed it into the portal whose version is EP6 SP9.
where can I see that deployed webdynpro application(in my case it is WebDynpro_Basics.ear) in the portal.
Can any one tell me the navigation part in the portal.
thanks
krishHi Krish,
You will find the deployed webdynpro application in webdynpro content administrator. You have to access it using portal administrator user-ID. the url is:
http://<hostname>:<J2EE engine port>/webdynpro/welcome
If you want to display the webdynpro application as an iView in the portal have a look at the following link.

Integrate Business workflow into Portal
Hi All,
I read the document "How to Configure the UWL.doc" Ver 1.0.
After following the steps given out there, i am stuck in one place and dont know how to proceed. I am writing down what i have done so far.
1.Created a system in the SLD
2.Mapped the Portal user to system user
3.Adding the UWL iView to User Role
4.Register the System with UWL
5.Register the System Item Types with UWL
After this, i dont how to proceed and how to achieve my requirement. i.e expose the Inbox functionality which is there in TC SBWP to the portal user.
Appreciate all your reply to go forward.
Thanks and Regards/VenkatHello Venkatesan,

I have wanted to program for a long time and now I have a mac I want to begin on the wright track. Which language should I start learning and what others will I need in the future? I started learning c++ awhile back but wasn't sure if it was the right language for iPhone development so stopped till I could afford a mac as I couldn't be an iPhone programmer without a mac anyway. Any advice to put me on the right track would be brilliant and much appreciated. Also I heard learning design is a major aspect, when should I learn this or should it just be picked up through learning a language. And I should add I don't want to go to college or university as I am doing this as something ontop of my full time job. Thanks

...and I hope you're still not using 10.4.11 - Snow Leopard is minimum now. -

Integrate Java standalone application when WIndows start
Hello everybody.I would like to ask you if it is possible to load a Java standalone application when any Windows platform (NT/2000/98/XP) starts.
How can I integrate an application when WIndows start?Do I have to include the bat file(which callls the java applictaion) into a Windows system file?
Regards. You can do one of several things:
1. Write a native executable that runs the Java Archive (JAR) using the java shell command.
2. Write a Windows shortcut that runs the java shell command (again passing in the JAR).
3. Purchase software that will produce a native executable that will run the JAR for you.
4. Integrate JAR files as executable programs into your Kernel. In Windows this is not easy, but again, there are solutions on the Internet, but you will most likely have to purchase these.
5. Configure the JAR file type so that when any JAR file type is double-clicked (and the default action is performed), the Java runtime is executed with the JAR as a parameter.
5 is my usual solution, and for operating systems like Linux, and especially MacOS, it is much easier to get JARs to run 'more natively'.
The answer to your question is simply 'Yes' but it is your choice of how to do this.
As far as running the JAR when your desktop starts up (Explorer in this case), you can do two things - firstly there's a 'Run' item in your registery where you can place the location of your shortcut / executable, secondly, you can simply put the short-cut or the executable (I recommend a shortcut) in your 'Startup' folder of your Start Menu. (Start -> Programs -> Startup).
I hope this helps.

Integrating BI reports into portals
Hi All,
I have a requirement to integrate BI reports into portals. But i dont have any idea regarding this. I dont whether I am posting this thread in a correct forum. If not please correct me.
Can anyone suggest what are the basic steps?
Regards,
Subashini.Create a BI System in the Portal Create a BI System in the Portal:
The BI system must be set up in the portal so that content from BI can be displayed there. The system is entered in the Portal System Landscape Directory.
Procedure
1. Log on to the portal.
2. Start the iView System Administration ® System Configuration ® System Landscape.
3. In the context menu of the System Landscape folder in the portal catalog, choose New ® System.
4. Choose SAP System with Dedicated Application Server for SAP System as the template.
5. Now set the properties of WAS ,ITS,CONNECTOR and USER MAPPING:
Input Field Details
System Name Type Properties
Business Intelligence SAP system with dedicated application server.
ITS
ITS description
Host name
Path
Protocal
WAS Description
Host name
Path
Protocal
CONNECTOR
Application Host
Remote Host Type
SAP Client
SAP System ID(SID)
SAP System Number
User Mapping
Authentication Ticket Type
Logon Method
User Mapping Type
6. After setting the above specified properties ,then one has to check the connections which can be set using
test connections.
If the connection tests fails and says that system aliases needs to be defined, go for the display properties
of the system to add u201Asystem aliasu2018.
Finally test for he connections which needs to be in green i.e. system is configured from Portal to BI.
Rest all the information about how to integrate BW with portal i gave you in the previous reply also after configuring System You need to create ivew workset and role covered in previous mail.
Please reward with points.

How to implement a java application in Portal
Hello,
I was asked if it is possible to implement a java (not a web application / not java web dynpro) to implement into the portal. Is this possible with something like the java web start? Is someone using something like that in the real world?
Thanks a lot,
VanessaHi Vanessa.
Yes, it is possible to integrate Java applets into portal. Have a look at XML Form Buider or SAP Management console (http://portalhost.domain:5xx13).

Configuring NWDS to deploy applications in portal
What are the steps needed to configure from nwds to deploy applications into portal?
Hi,
You have 2 configurations. Go to Windows menu and to Preferences -> J2EE engine. Give the host name and port number of the server to which you are deploying. Here port no. is the message server port no(like 39xx or 36xx).
This is required for deploying your J2ee or webdynpro applications.
For deploying portal applications, go to Windows -> Preferences -> SAP Enterprise Portal. Click on Add button. Give description, name of host, port and login id. Here port is portal port no (like 5xx00). Login id is portal user id.
Right click project -> Export -> Choose par file -> Enter the password in this screen -> Ok. Your application will be deployed.

Intergrate all application into single logon
hi,
Iam using Application Express 3.0.1.00.08
I am having two questions
1. we are having 8 to 9 applications.
So when ever a user logged into each application they have to pass through login screen.
So i have intergrate all the application into a single applciation i.e they should have single logon.
What is the easy way to integrate all application into singe application
2. also is it possible to pass value for an argument from one application to another application like the way we pass value from one page to another
Thanks1. You need to create identical authentication schemes in each application that use the same named cookie. A good way to do this is to create the authentication schem in 1 "master" application and then copy/subscribe it into all the others.
2. Yes, in exactly the same way. However, you cannot use the "navigate to a page in this application" method (of course) so you have to build the entire URL like this:
f?p=OTHERAPP:123:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.:123:P123_ITEM:999 -
hi all,
I want to integrate BW workbook into portal. I was able to do it by using transactional iview with application parameter as WBID. But this requires SAPGUI to be installed on the machine. Is there any other way in which i can do this?
Thanks in advance,
GopiI've done it by importing the BW role containing the workbook into the portal. you can then use the iview it has created.
Works pretty well.
