Integrating external JSP app with Portal

Hi,
I have an existing application which is completely developed in JSP. I also have a application which is currently build and running on the Portal. Now i want to integrate these two applications togethar so that when ever a user logs into the application running on the portal he should have a link through which he can access application buit on JSP.
Any guidence/info would be grealty appreciated
Thanks in Advance

Try a LINK in yoyur portal app (smart no?)
If your java app has a autentication method, do the link and then PORTAL SSO enabled it and the use a PORTAL AREA to IFRAME it. So the experience of the user is that he will be always in the same app. (you'll need to change the look and feel of one app)

  • Integration of ABAP workflow with portal

    Hello Experts,
    Need urgent help on UWL configuration.
    We have integrated our ABAP workflow with portal through UWL.
    We have a Ad Hoc link in the ABAP workflow which takes us to some transaction. For some reason we are not able to view that link when we see this workflow through portal.
    1. Is is possible to show any Ad hoc links from ABAP workflow into portals?
    2. If yes, what is the process for the same? We did not get any relevant documents.
    Any inputs/sugessions are most welcome.

  • URGENT! Need help to portalize a Strut JSP App for Portal!

    Hi,
    I have create a little application using Strut ADF. This application only have one page. Can someone tell me how to portalize this in order to deployed it in Portal. I have create my DataSource in OEM and the only thing left is to portalize this jsp.
    I have read the "How to create a Struts Portlet" but I don't understand it.
    Please help me deployed this app to Portal. Is there any tutorial about this?
    Thank you!

    try this article
    http://portalstudio.oracle.com/pls/ops/docs/FOLDER/COMMUNITY/PDK/articles/pdkstruts/portletize-your-app.html
    You will also need to download the relevant tag library for the pdk-struts extensions.
    You can also download the java portlet wizard as an add-in for jdeveloper. This makes the creation of the files (for example provider.xml) required by portal easier.

  • Usage of external LDAP server with Portal

    Hi All,
    We are in a situation to use external LDAP server with WLP 8.1. These are the
    constraints we have to deal with:
    1. Only read is allowed from this LDAP server.
    2. This would be used for authentication purpose
    If thats the case, how can we use Visitor Entitlements/Delegated Admin and Group
    creation using Portal Admin tool since this will write to the configured LDAP
    server.
    Can somebody answer my question:
    1. Can we use external LDAP server - just for authetication (I know this is possible
    by using JAAS LoginModule, but I just want to get confirmed on this ) and
    2. Use default and embedded LDAP server for all others like Group/Visitor Entitlements/DAs.
    Any relevant pointers are also welcome.

    You can add the external LDAP server just for authentication, but in
    versions through
    8.1 SP2 WLP will want to verify the user exists (via the UserReaderMBean)
    during
    the login process (this check has been removed in SP3). A work around
    is to
    duplicate
    the user in a provider that does impl UserReaderMBean.
    Prashanth : You mean to say we have to duplicate the User in embedded LDAP server
    also??

    Yes, the default/embedded LDAP can still be used for DA/visitor
    entitlements. In the current
    release, the Portal Admin Tools can only be configured to use a single
    authentication provider
    while forming entitlements. In SP3, all configured providers are
    listed/usable by the tools.Prashanth : How can we configure Portal Admin tool to use authentication provider
    for entitlements??

    Sending an SMS is a relatively small customisation if you work with an SMS aggregator such as Clickatel or TXTLocal. Both expose simple Web Service api's that you call with the phone number and message text as parameters. The aggregator then hands the message off to the mobile phone network for delivery to a users phone. The aggregators also provide web services that allow you to be notified when they receive an SMS message for you. So if you wanted to be really smart you could allow the user to reply to the original SMS with "Approve" or "Reject" and update the status of the PO/requisition automatically and advance the workflow.

    Hi,
    I assume, i have already setup profile 'WMS: Label Print Mode' to Synchronous - TCP/IP.
    Basically, you dont have to create any concurrent program for XML creation, Oracle will do it for you 'out of box'.
    Also set 'WMS: Synchronous TCP/IP label request delay' to 100, this is a required step, though none of the documentation talks about it.
    if you think that all the requests are not handled correctly, then you will need to increase this delay further.
    Lastly, verify that the printer is setup correctly in Oracle (Place where you specify IP Address and port)

  • Integrating External JQUERY code with Edge Animate

    Hi all...
    There are two ways i can see of integrating Edge Animate With External JQuery
    Something happens within Adobe edge and triggers something to happen externally or vice versa.....
    1: When an action is performed (mouseUp MouseOver... etc...) we can initiate some external Jquery
    For example
    When I "mouseUp" my play button i run the function  "playPause()" and my audio starts to play
    function playPause(){
        if( $("#liveStream").data("jPlayer").status.paused ) {
            $("#liveStream").jPlayer("play");
        else {
            $("#liveStream").jPlayer("pause");
    So this is fine... i perform an action in Adobe Edge and something external to the composition occurs, in this case it connects to a live stream of audio and the user gets the desired result.
    2:When an event occurs in external Jquery (playing, connection lost, audio not ready... etc...) we can perform an action within Adobe Edge
    For example
    When the audio stream is playing and the user is definatly hearing music i need to perform an action within Adobe Edge like "sym.$("playButton").hide();" which hides the play button because obviously there is no need to click play anymore when the music is already playing..
    This is were my Jquery understanding ends..
    Questions:
    1: Where do i put global code within my Adobe Edge composition that triggers actions when external jQuery returns an event
    2: How do i go about coding this...
    Below is my best attempt
    function playStatus(){
         $("#liveStream").bind($.jPlayer.event.playing, function (event) {
              sym.$("playButton").hide();
    Now my attempt is probably way off the truth but im hoping you understand what i am trying to achieve..
    Thank you for reading this through
    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.....
    Justin..

    Hi, thanks for the assistance....
    I have tried to integrate the following code into the "creationComplete event"
    //Initiate JPlayer
    $(document).ready(function(){
        var stream = {
            mp3: "http://streaming.radionomy.com/ABC-Jazz"
        ready = false;
        $("#liveStream").jPlayer({
            ready: function (event) {
                ready = true;
                $(this).jPlayer("setMedia", stream);
            pause: function() {
                $(this).jPlayer("clearMedia");
            error: function(event) {
                if(ready && event.jPlayer.error.type === $.jPlayer.error.URL_NOT_SET) {
                    // Setup the media stream again and play it.
                    $(this).jPlayer("setMedia", stream).jPlayer("play");
            swfPath: "js",
            supplied: "mp3",
            preload: "none",
            wmode: "window",
            keyEnabled: true
    //Create function for Play & Pause
    function playPause(){
        if( $("#liveStream").data("jPlayer").status.paused ) {
            $("#liveStream").jPlayer("play");
        else {
            $("#liveStream").jPlayer("pause");
    The above code used to be within a player.js file that i called into edge, As you have recomended to me i have moved this code to within edge...
    When i try to play the stream i get the following error from the console "Javascript error in event handler! Event Type = element"
    It is refering to edge.3.0.0.min.js
    In a bit stuck now as to why it is not working....
    This error is usually generated when the scripts are not talking to each other so im guessing it should be an easy one for you guys as my knowledge of jquery is not great!

  • RAD tools for JSP apps with GUI editor?

    Hi,
    Could anybody recommend a RAD tool for JSP-based development with an integrated GUI page editor and HTML, JSP and JavaBeans/J2EE Java code generation?
    Should be usable by (trained) business analysts, so tools heavily based on UML are not exactly what I'm looking for.
    I need to develop a small "white label"-style generic web application for a few business processes, then let business users/analysts modify and deploy it.

  • Integrating existing WLS apps into portal

    Hi all,
    I would like to know which is the best approach to integrate existing WLS web applications into a 8.1 portal environment. By "integrating" I mean a single sign-on and sign-out scenario. The portal user should only log in once and the session information should be conveyed to the other application(s). The other applications could run in full-screen portlet with its existing navigation. The existing applications are running on different server instances (and also hardware) and different versions (6.1, 7.0 and 8.1). I would be grateful for any suggestions or best-practices. Thanks in advance.

    The first thing I would look into is establishing trust between the domain: http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/secmanage/domain.html
    This would enable single sign on...
    Then, I would look into creating meaningful portlets that launch you into your pre-existing portlets...

  • How to integrate BIBean JSP page with Portal after deploying to iAS?

    Hi all,
    Right now we can deploy a JSP page contains BI Bean crosstab to iAS and can display the page using this url: http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:7779/Application2/Analyze1.jsp.
    BIBean version: 10.1.2.0.2

    iAS version: 10.1.2
    Then according to a sample: http://otn.oracle.com/products/bib/htdocs/samples/samples_overview.html
    , we should test PDKProviderAdapter, but we don't know how to create a provider for it. In the sample project "Portal" I can find a "provider" floder contains provider.xml under the "web content" node.
    My question is : how to create the provider? which document or example can we refer to for help. Eagerly waiting for help.
    Thanks in advance.
    Scott

    thnx for your response.
    Basically we need to develop few JSP pages and that will insert data into the Oracle tables. These tables will hold user information for further processing. Now the requirement is to call these JSP pages from OBI dashboard. We can easily call the JSP pages if OBI runs on OC4J (that we have checked). But in our production environment we are having IIS server to run OBI. So our concern is how to deploy these JSP pages on IIS server?
