Integrating remedy system to portal - HTTPS Issue?
Hello folks,
I am integrating remedy system to portal using R/3. We are not able to consume the webservice directly from the Iview using portal services(not supporting for the remedy system). So we have created a RFM(using SOAP). Portal connects to R/3 using this RFM and R/3 connects to remedy system and returns the ticket created which is passed to the portal.
This works fine if the webservice is HTTP based but doesn't work after enabling HTTPS. Keeps giving authentiocation/HTTP communication err. Does the webservice supports HTTPS using ABAP?.They do have an option to accept HTTPS but it's not working.(Scheme 1= HTTP , 2 = HTTPS )
call method cl_http_client=>create
exporting
host = 'arsdev'
service = '8883'
scheme = '2'
importing
client = http_client.
Has anyone encountered the same problem ? Is there anyway we can consume the webservice thru' ABAP after enabling HTTPS?
Thanks,
Vikram
Hi, gurus.
I thought you have successfully configured Solman-BMC connection before?
Can you share some thoughts on it, especially where I can found decent documentation that tells step I should take. I've configured it for days, but I can't understand how Solman will pass message to Remedy and vice versa.
Do you have email or messenger so I can ask about it?
I've followed SAP guidances from service marketplace and here http://tknight.org/sdn/show/9985 but with no luck.
Thanks gurus.

Error while integrating Windows System - Share into KM
Hi Experts,
I am new to KM and there is a requirement of Integrating Windows System into KM.
Portal System : a.xyz.com
Remote System: b.xyz.com
Share -
b.xyz.com\d_share$
Both systems reside in the same domain and share is created on the remote system which needs to be accessed from Portal. User xyz\Rob has given R/W access to the share.
The steps I followed are:
1. Created a Network Path.
- Specified Network Path as given above.
- Added credentials for xyz\Rob
2. Created Windows System in KM Systems Landscape.
3. Created File System Repository.
- Specified Share as Root Direcory.
- Specified Windows Landscape System as the system defined in the above step.
- Security Manger as W2kSecurityManager
Now when I saved it, default trace logs are giving following dump :

Br,
NilzHi,
Check whether you are able to access the same file share form the Portal server where your J2EE is installed.
And also if you have used
b.xyz.com
d_share in the network path try using //b.xyz.com/d_share in the network path as mentioned here.

Could not invoke a web service in an integration process from a portal
Hello,
I am a WebLogic user. I am using WebLogic 8.1. I created a process project which integration a few web services. The last service in the process is named "Alert Service". I also create a WebLogic portal to invoke the the Alert service in the process. After I run the process in WebLogic workshop, I run the portal. I met the issue like:
<i><b>An error has occurred:
An exception occurred in the action showAlert
EJB Exception: ; nested exception is:
com.bea.control.ServiceControlException: SERVICE FAULT:
Code:java.io.FileNotFoundException
String:Response: '503: Service Unavailable' for url: 'http://dbaldridge3000:7001/JC2Collab/JC2/collab/alert/Alert.jws'
Detail:
END SERVICE FAULT
caused by: : com.bea.control.ServiceControlException: SERVICE FAULT:
Code:java.io.FileNotFoundException
String:Response: '503: Service Unavailable' for url: 'http://dbaldridge3000:7001/JC2Collab/JC2/collab/alert/Alert.jws'
Detail:
END SERVICE FAULT</b></i>
I created a portal domain and extended the workshop and integration domain to the portal domain server. both the process and the portal are running on this server. If I don't run the workflow process, but run the Alert service only and then run the portal, there is no exception.
The portal was created using the Alert service's control.
Why did the integration process hide its service so that the portal could not find it ? Should I run the integration process and the portal in separate domains (servers) ? Should I start two WebLogic platforms ?
Thanks in advance.
DiI reproduced this error in another way by using portal only. I created a portal with a portlet which can invoke a meeting service. I posted two methods in the meeting service to the portlet - listMeetings and getMeeting. The portlet was generated automically from the meeting web service control. I invoked the listMeeting from the portal at first. The meeting info was displayed on the portal page. Then I invoked the getMeeting by entering a meeting key got from the first step. For the second call, the same exception was thrown.

Problem in BW System in Portal..Its urgent.. Please guide
Hello All,
Scenario:
Working in a load balancing landscape
Requirement:
Need to create a BW Report iView (which isnt working)
Problem / Questions:
1. Created a BW System in portal but since its load balancing, please confirm if this is all right:
- Using Logon Tickets Name
- Group = ?group?
- Message Server = ?server?:?port?
- SID = ?r3name?
- Server Port = blank
- SAP Client = blank
- System Type = SAP_BW
- WAS Host = ?server?:?port?
- WAS Protocol = http
- User Mapping Type = admin
2. Tested the connection and the WAS & Connector Tests fail.
3. When I preview the SAP BW Report iView, get a prompt error saying
" session management will not work!
Please check the DSM log file for details.
you can turnoff this alert ..... "
Now, Ive seen many posts which show how can I disable this prompt message but it would not solve the problem. On clicking on "ok" from the above mentioned prompt, I get an error saying "Page cannot be displayed"..
Please guide.....
Its kinda urgent....
Awaiting Reply.
Thanks and Warm Regards,
RituHi,
Do the following:
<b>1. Property Category : Connector</b>
<b>Group</b> -> You can check this from the SAP Logon Pad. Click on groups and then click on generate list.
<b>Logical System Name</b> -> <SID>CLNT<Client Number>
<b>Message Server</b> -> You can also find the message server from the SAP Logon Pad or ask the BASIS team. On SAP Logon Pad, click on groups -> You can see the servers in the group.
<b>Remote Host Type</b> -> 3
<b>SAP Client</b> -> You can get this from SAP Logon Pad or contact the BASIS team. A system can have many clients to be particular.
<b>SID</b> -> System ID of your BW system. This would also be available from SAP Logon Pad or contact the BASIS team for information
<b>Server Port</b> = The server port would be 80<System Number> i.e. 8000 if the system number is 00 and 8001 if system number is 01
<b>System Type</b> -> SAP_BW
<b>2. Property Category : ITS</b>
<b>ITS Host Name</b> -> If it's WAS6.40 and above, it would be an integrated ITS which means the ITS hostname is same as your BW System Host Name. i.e. xxxx.abc.com:80<system number>
<b>ITS path</b> -> /sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui/
<b>ITS Protocol</b> -> http
<b>3. Property Category : User Management</b>
<b>Logon Method</b> -> SAPLOGONTICKET
<b>User Mapping Type</b> -> admin, user
<b>4. Property Category : WAS</b>
<b>WAS Host</b> = Fully Qualified Domain Name of BW System : 80<system number>
<b>WAS Protocol</b> = http
Check the connection then.
Cheers,

Could not connect to backend system through portal via Web Dispatcher
Web dispatcher redirecting problem
Dear Experts,
I have implemented a scenario which comprised of customizing that is developed in Portal EP7. What customizing does is getting report from backend system (ERP 6.0)
According to the needs for reaching the portal from internet I configured the SAP Web Dispatcher in the environment as you may see its contents below.
The problem is when I run the customizing in portal system then it requires connecting to backend system (ECC 6.0) to get the data (report). But from this point on web browser comes to a blank page, could not view the data that is from backend system via portal. Because in the time when it tries to retrieve data in backend system, on the left bottom of the explorer the indicator shows internet address that system uses connecting to the backend system as local network address of the backend system which is not known in internet therefore I get blank page.
The question is how to configure the web dispatcher in a way that both portal and backend systems could be reachable from internet?
Contents of profile file of Web Dispatcher as;
SAPSYSTEMNAME = WDP
SAPGLOBALHOST = portald
SAPSYSTEM = 02
INSTANCE_NAME = W02
DIR_CT_RUN = $(DIR_EXE_ROOT)\$(OS_UNICODE)\NTAMD64
DIR_EXECUTABLE = $(DIR_CT_RUN)
Accesssability of Message Server
rdisp/mshost = portald
ms/http_port = 8101
Configuration for medium scenario
icm/max_conn = 500
icm/max_sockets = 1024
icm/req_queue_len = 500
icm/min_threads = 10
icm/max_threads = 50
mpi/total_size_MB = 80
SAP Web Dispatcher Ports
#icm/server_port_0 = PROT=HTTP,PORT=81$$
SAP Web Dispatcher Ports
icm/server_port_0 = PROT=HTTP,PORT=60000
icm/HTTP/redirect_0 = PREFIX=/, TO=/irj/index.html
icm/HTTP/redirect_0 = PORT=50000
#maximum number of concurrent connections to one server
wdisp/HTTP/max_pooled_con = 500
wdisp/HTTPS/max_pooled_con = 500
Configuration for medium scenario
icm/max_conn = 500
icm/max_sockets = 1024
icm/req_queue_len = 500
icm/min_threads = 10
icm/max_threads = 50
mpi/total_size_MB = 80
Regards,
Ali TanerHi,
To resovle this you must have registered FQDN for your backend system as well. When you call the report from Portal using internet it should call that FQDN of your backend system then DNS will resolve this & you will get the expected page. This way only you can resolve this issue.
Thanks,

Portal runtime issue while starting up
Hi Friends,
We are getting the following error while stating portal
http://<HN>:50000/irj/portal
error msg "500: Internal server error. Application error occurred during request processing. Details: java.lang.NullPointerException: null".
Whereas can able to login to http://<HN>/50000/index.html and able to look in NWA tools.
1)Navigating to the portal results in the error msg "500: Internal server error. Application error occurred during request processing. Details: java.lang.NullPointerException: null". However this error does not seem to be reflected in the portal logs . However J2EE engine seems to be working as NWA is working. Only the Portal Run time seems to be failing.
2) Changes to prtCentral.properties file is not picked up after a portal restart. It should be renamed by the system to prtCentral.properties.bak after the changes have been updated into the DB. This does not happen.
3) The following errors found in dispatcher logs std_server0.out during server restarts:
com.sap.portal.prt.runtime [SAPEngine_Application_Thread[impl:3]_3] Fatal: [Portal.init] Application Broker - initialization failed
com.sap.portal.prt.sapj2ee.error [SAPEngine_System_Thread[impl:5]_75] Fatal: Exception while starting: sap.com/com.sap.netweaver.bc.rf
com.sap.portal.prt.sapj2ee.error [SAPEngine_System_Thread[impl:5]_75] Fatal: Exception while starting: sap.com/com.sap.netweaver.bc.sf.service
4) Following fatal SSL errors also found during restart:
Severity: fatal;Source: ; Description: SSL transport supplier registered; Consequences: <event>; Countermeasures:<event>
Severity: fatal; Source: ; Description: Unregistering SSL transport supplier; Consequences: <event>; Countermeasures:<event>
5)Many many similar errors about not being able to find path of various log files. Example below:
java.lang.Exception: .\log\applications\sap.com\com.sap.tc.lm.ctc.cul.webservice\common.log.0 (The system cannot find the path specified)
at com.sap.tc.logging.FileLogInfoData.getEOLLength(FileLogInfoData.java:432)
Can you please some light on this issue..
Thanks

nevertheless, for example after a server remove, we are getting the problem. Sub-Directory delete helps, but always a Sub-Directory remove after each UNIX server reboot or password changes ...
spaces between directories: Spaces between UNIX directories?
We are using a SeOS UNIX security tool. I did different tests and found, that SeOS in warning mode with a UNIX server reboot made no portal problems. SeOS in Live mode, we got the portal problems. The securtiy team found nothing related to SeOS.
I am aware about the Portal problem, since I did a SP18 update, maybe we had it before, but I was not aware about it.
After reviewing a trace, the portal startup failure is the missing coreapplication.xml file. Which seems to be sometimes available and sometimes not.

Integrating Web Dynpro and Portal
Hi people!
I'm starting the development of a simple web site in SAP Enterprise Portal. I created a simple web dynpro application to test the integration between web dynpro and SAP EP. I created a new folder and a new system in portal content. After I add a new page and a new iView (this iView open my webdynpro iview).
My Page open normally in SAP Portal Page Admin, now i would like to know how do for include the Portal Theme, Menu, Status Bar into to my page.
I investigated about wdPortalNavigation and wdPortalNavigationMode, but i don't understand very well how insert the Portal Navigation properties into my Page.
How do I insert this properties in my iView Code? or I should set this properties in Portal Admin?
Somebody have some e-books or tutorials to indicated?
Thanks in advance!!
MarceloHi Marcelo,
First of all welcome to SDN....
For you Webdynpro pages to open with new THEME but not with default theme of portal you have to design new theme in portal and assign that theme to WebDynpro Components

If yes then I think you have to allow these pages.

Steps to configure R/3 system to Portal implementation
Hi
Please provide steps to configure R/3 system to Portal implementation
when i m opening standard iview in ESS in portal i m getting following runtime error.
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: Failed to resolve JCO destination name 'SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics_MetaData' in the SLD. No such JCO destination is defined in the SLD.
Please help
ThanksHello Bhupinder Singh,
To use ESS/MSS services in Portal follow the following Steps
Maintaining jCo Connections
Use
jCo connections are used in iViews to connect directly to a backend. They are delivered with the portal content and must be activated (configured to access a specific system).
jCo connections have two parts: one with <jCo name>, and the other with suffix <jCo Name>_MetaData. The first one transfers user-specific data within the scenario; the other transfers only the needed metadata. For the jCo with name <jCo name>, SAP Logon Ticket is recommended as an authentication method. For the metadata connection, a user ID and password is needed. A system user created before is sufficient.
Procedure
Within this guide we generically describe the step-by-step procedure for an example connection set. Perform all steps for the following jCos:
u2022 SAP_R3_Financials / SAP_R3_Financials_Metadata
u2022 SAP_R3_HumanResources / SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData
u2022 SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics / SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics_MetaData
u2022 SAP_R3_Travel / SAP_R3_Travel_MetaData
